Survivor China, we'll take a closer look

at how the final seven survivors made it
deep into the game.

One member of their tribe. Into one of
the most unpredictable survivors ever. I

know it's risky. I know it is. But it
could pay off in a major way worth it.

And for the first time ever, one
castaway holds two immunity idols.

Well, I want to be.

27 days ago, 16 Americans traveled to a
remote section of rural China for the

adventure of a lifetime.

Their journey got off to a grueling
start.

We don't know how many more stairs there
are. Goodness.

I don't see the end. Guys, it's a long
way to go.

We got to the temple. I mean, it was
hard. We're carrying these bags. We

about 450 stairs. We figured, oh, this
is it. We're ready to start this thing

up.

We should build shelter right here.

More stairs?

We're just climbing up these really
steep stairs, and every time they curved

around, every time we thought we were
there, another curve and another curve.

One more time again, baby.

I'm telling you guys, there ain't no
money at the top of this hill. You might

well slow down.

We'll go another team.

We'll talk about balls.

All right. All the young kids, they're
all, like, grabbing and stuff, running

the hills. The big guys got them over
their heads, and they're all walking up.

I got stuck with Chicken. He's like,
take it slow.

You don't have to rush.

Ten at a time. We're going to do ten
this time. And he'd go up and sit down

wipe his brow.

All right, I'm going to hang with this
dude for a while.

Welcome to China.

Every girl put on this because your
clothes

is too short. I was like looking at my
outfit. I was uncomfortable and I was

embarrassed. It's definitely not
appropriate for a temple.

The Buddhist monk actually came over and
gave us drapes.

Almost all the girls had to use drapes
over their dresses.

I'm sure they don't get a whole lot of
kinky dresses in the temple.

During the Buddhist welcoming ceremony,
Leslie had a moral dilemma.

I'm a believer in Jesus Christ, and in
the Bible it says, thou shall not bow

down to any other god. You know, it
really felt like worship, and I just

couldn't do it.

When the ceremony ended, the survivors
were split into two tribes. Yellow

your name is John Who, which means
fighting tiger.

Red tribe, your name is Faye Long, means
flying dragon.

All right, good luck, guys.

Thanks so much.

After settling into camp, Todd nominated
Aaron to be the leader of Falong. We do

need someone who's strong and knows how
to take lead, and you're very good at

it. Is that okay with you?

It feels weird, but I think I can do it.
I'm very, very smart in trying to push

the leader role more so onto Aaron.

While over at John Hoo, Chicken's
assertiveness was squashed.

Do you think this is going to hold up?

We have to build something, though, so
let's stop being negative. I just give

them my opinion, and nobody wants it, so
I'm done suggesting.

After three days of intense hunger, John
Hu resorted to eating anything they

could get their hands on.

There's a one.

Can I eat it? Get it.

Just don't stare at it. Try to squeeze
the poo out.

It's like popping a big nasty zit.

We weren't finding any plants we could
eat that were edible.

And we couldn't get the fire, so no
rides. So there was nothing.

I was ready to eat something.

You know, don't watch. You know, that's
TMI, man. Milk and worm.

I'm, like, sitting here, like, squeezing
poop out of worms and, like, making

people eat them. But I think they'll be
glad that they pushed their boundaries.

And I think that's the key to surviving
out here.

We're still living so primitively.

Nothing to eat. We're drinking dirty
rain.

The bugs.

You know, they're eating worms.

I mean, it's just gross.

It's just filthy.

I could do another one.

But worms weren't the only strange foods
the tribes ate.

Oh, my God.

Frogs became a culinary island treat.

Frog. I ate the leg and a little bit of
the ass, and now I'm craving a frog.

Did you eat the first one, Dave? Yeah.

This is so much better than worms, can I
tell you? And eating greens had a whole

new meaning. Think of it as like a baby
spring salad. I actually prefer the

worms over the leaves. Really?

Morning,

guys. Have breakfast.

Oh, look at that. The survivors even
resorted to eating roots from the water.

Tea celery.

I like this nice heart.

Thank you. Today we'll have tea celery
and tadpoles. Is that what it is?

With some lime juice.

That'll be good.

Courtney, do you want some of this rice?

I do. Did you guys just have this, like,
today, really?

Yeah. Is it okay?

But nothing killed appetites more than
spoiled rice.

Oh, my gosh, that's so nasty.

And even clams were questionable.

caused a lot of bickering. I'm eating

The survivors searched everywhere.

Yeah, big for dinner. For anything
remotely edible.

Maybe I'll eat one of these, huh?

At the first community challenge, lack
of food and sleep didn't fare well for

John Hu.

And Fei Long prevailed. Fei Long wins
immunity!

That night at tribal council, John Hu
decided who was their weakest link.

The next day at Fei Long, Todd and
Amanda formed an alliance.

You're my loyal alliance, too.

You have to have one in this game. You
have to. You guys want a powwow?

And Aaron asserted himself as the
leader, calling out Jean -Robert.

Jean -Robert, you need to start pulling
your weight.

I know that I'm not working as much as
I'd like to be able to work. My brain's

working, but my body's just not able to
move with it. I wanted to give the

perception that I was a little bit lazy,
so that later on, when I am

contributing and putting in the work
effort, you know, people are noticing.

But after a short time, Aaron's actions
caused people to question his leadership

abilities.

We were supposed to be doing something.

We needed to do the roof and get some
fire.

Yeah, we tried, and I couldn't do it.

We said, y 'all going to stop?

Dude, you're killing me. Can you get
fire?

watch stuff get done, because I don't

We got two older ladies. They don't do

James comes marching down and, Aaron,
you're supposed to be a leader. You're

supposed to be showing us what to do.
And you're down here taking a nap. And

like thinking he's yelling at me at
first. I looked over and he's like,

just a flight attendant.

I'm talking about him, our leader.

And I was like, okay.

Like, let him get ripped up, you know.
So you got to help. You have to help me

out. The rest of them, hey.

You didn't get your ass up. Come on.
This is too much delegating and a whole

of nothing getting done.

I'm not doing all this stuff by myself
anymore.

They're going to pull the rope with me.

Or they're all going to die. I won't
move in that cave.

victory.

Feilong wins!

And a major element of the game was
revealed.

Feilong, because you defeated John Hu,
you now get to kidnap one member of

tribe. That person will come and live
with you until the next community

challenge. Who are you going to kidnap?

There's one more layer to this twist.

Jamie, this is for you.

It says open in private.

When you get to their beach, find a
private spot and read it.

And if losing wasn't bad enough, John Hu
was hit even harder when they returned

to camp.

It looks like a natural disaster hit our
camp.

This is basically destroyed.

It was like somebody just took all the
water from every ocean they could find

and just poured it right on top of us.

And they quickly devised a plan to
restore their camp.

I'm going in, I'm getting the machete,
and I'm cutting a channel.

Yeah, it was pretty disheartening. My
first reaction was just, oh, brother,

we go, something else to worry about.
But, you know, when there's a problem,

can only spend so much time being
worried about it. You really have to

right, let's fix it.

If he can at least cut through some of
those fibers and those roots.

Oh, there you go, there you go, there it
is. Is it going yet? Yeah, starting.

Great effort.

We're digging channels, trying to get
our different plateaus to drain. We have

three plateaus here at our camp, and the
top one's draining into our living one,

which is draining into our bamboo prep
field, which is then tumbling about two

meters down into the lake.

Hopefully we'll be able to get this
really dry and finally have a

camp that's not wet and muddy.

The water's actually starting to flow
now, so I think it's actually working.

That same day at Thay Long, Jamie found
a quiet place to open the bamboo tube.

In this steel tube is a clue to a hidden
immunity title at the enemy camp.

You must give this steel clue to a
member of the tribe.

My strategy as far as the clue goes is
I'm going to give it to them.

Whom I think is their weakest link. In
an attempt to be strategic, Jamie gave

the clue to Leslie.

Don't let anybody know you have it. I
feel like the Lord really gave me a

Leslie then formed an alliance of her
own, hoping it would help keep her in

game. I told Todd that the idol is here,
so we're going to team up and use it

together. And I trust him.

I can't believe she told me. I'm in
shock.

I would never tell anybody.

What was she thinking?

The next morning, Aaron woke everyone up
and delivered some surprising news.

You guys want a powwow? No. All right,
so making an announcement.

It's been real, and it's been fun, but
it hasn't been real fun.

I just can't stand all the Brady Bunch
antics that go on in this tribe.

Aaron stood up this morning, put on his
little suit and jacket with his little

powwow. Like some of us haven't even
taken our head up off the bamboo yet. I

now relinquishing my title as leader.

I can't continue to keep tabs on
everyone else, and I don't want to keep

everyone else.

But I've definitely enjoyed helping out
with whatever advice I can give, but I'm

tired of making decisions.

Aaron came up with this new brilliant
idea.

I'm relinquishing my leadership
position.

What? All right, let's get some fire. So
a man is on stairs, John Roeberry.

You're going to do logs with James later
in the day. Okay. So does anyone know

how to fish?

No, I am not the leader. And then right
afterward, he told us all what to do.

Over at John Who, Dave's lack of sleep
was starting to affect him.

I'm up first primarily because I got
shuffled and squeezed out of every

comfortable sleeping position there is.

And if no one can see that I'm the
tallest person around here, that's

to get under my skin a little bit.

And Dave expressed his views about
eating before a challenge.

We decided to do rice and just a little
bit so it'll boil faster because we

don't know how much time we have to go
before a challenge.

I'll tell you that, man. Eating rice
right before a challenge, I don't know.

I know digestion converts all your
energy to your stomach.

But we're all stirring.

Just eat that.

Patience. Well, you know, I've mentioned
this so many times, and I have reasons

for it. I think it's better to eat when
you're starving before you have to exert

energy. My physiology and metabolism is
not yours, so whatever you guys need to

feel better about it, if you feel better
after a meal, then by all means cook

the rice.

If you don't want to eat, then I don't
need to.

I could, but I don't need to. Well, I
don't think any of us need to eat right

now. I think it's just smart, Dave. You
guys know your bodies. You guys start

yourselves up. I'm not going to tell you
what to do, what not to do in that

respect. Dave hasn't been eating. He
hasn't wanted to because his energy is

high. He keeps telling everybody that he
somehow gets, like, magical energy from

the air, and he doesn't need to eat. I
think he'd be smarter than that. Good

things come to those who wait.

I don't like doing things half -assed.

At the immunity challenge...

Dave ate his word, causing John Who to
lose.

When John Who returned to camp, Dave
knew he was in the hot seat.

I apologize. I feel like I let us down
today.

At tribal council, Ashley ended up
getting the boot.

The next morning at Faylong, Leslie
cleaned up around camp.

I'm going to go get some water to wash
the dishes so the flies will go away.

The fish did. I dumped them.

I woke up and I caught Leslie throwing
away our bait. We caught it yesterday.

needed that today to catch the crabs and
the fish.

And she thought there was too many flies
on it, so she threw all our food away.

I was in shock. I cannot believe.

How silly some people can be.

And I'm really sorry. I threw out this
fish. I didn't realize we were going to

use him for bait. And I tried to find
him and I couldn't.

want to get in his way.

But I handed them all the right places.
It was a matter of going up or down. You

know, it wasn't that complicated a
puzzle.

Well, did you realize this, and then...
I let Todd take the charge, and he was

doing it, and it looked like he was
doing just fine for a while.

Now Jean -Robert is spinning it that
Todd didn't do the puzzle right.

So it's always someone else besides him.

But I don't care.

I'll vote for snore -faced Jean -Robert
because he annoys the crap out of me.

And Todd became very defensive.

opinion, and I'm going to knock you down
if I have to.

This team hates to lose. Everybody gets
kind of on edge. This team hates to

lose. That's one good thing.

But at Tribal Council, Baylong kept John
Rivera for his strength.

Third person voted out of Survivor
China.

And Leslie was voted out.

Up next.

If we lose, we are going home. That's
not my call.

Frosty gets handed an ultimatum. Either
win and end up going really far in the

game, or lose and go home.

By the morning of day 10, Courtney had
reached her boiling point with Jean

Robert. Don't touch that. Don't touch

I was afraid it might be hot.

I really don't want to eat that.

He's like a cocky son of a bitch. And he
sucks so bad, there's no getting out of

Later that day at the immunity
challenge, Sharia watches again.

Sharia gave a brave performance.

And scores!

But her efforts were not enough.

They long won another challenge.

After another loss, Sharia and Dave were
at each other's throats.

they'd had enough of Dave.

Someone's coming in. On day 13, another
twist was revealed.

Choose the two warriors from John who
you feel could best help to strengthen

your tribe. The tribes were mixed up.

Sharia and Frosty had to move to the Fei
Long tribe.

Hey, guys. Hello.

And James and Aaron had to move to the
John Hu tribe.

What's going on, guys?

Hello. With the new tribes in place, Fei
Long took some time to lighten things

up around camp.

I don't know. I would have to say that.

Winning is, God, it's so good.

That was great.

I don't even know how it started, but we
started doing impressions.

And we did John Robert and how he just
liked to talk about himself and how it

stuck out his belly.

how John Robert does, and I was like,
keep going, don't stop. This is what me

and my friends do at home. We sit around
and we join each other. That means talk

But over at John Who, things were all
business with Jamie and PG.

At the immunity challenge... Wait a
minute.

Wait a long minute.

Jamie and PG's plan was set in motion.

And Aaron was the fifth person voted out
of Survivor China.

The next day at the reward challenge,
Faye Long wins the reward!

James was kidnapped by his old tribe.
James, this is for you.

Once back at Faye Long, James put his
faith in Todd's hand.

I know what they're talking about. Those
stupid bats and bugs and freaking

things.

Todd and Amanda found the hidden
immunity idol, but Frosty unexpectedly

involved. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. All I
could think was, Frosty.

Frosty, no. So Todd and Amanda came up
with a new plan for James to take the

immunity idol and throw the next
challenge in order to save himself.

You have to lose immunity to me.

If you're running, trip.

James loses immunity. They vote for him,
but he uses the idol to get rid of

Jamie. Then Todd told James about the
second hidden immunity idol at the John

Who camp.

Now all I have to do is...

Stay focused, get the other item, and I
have both of them. I mean, it's going to

be wonderful. I'm having a great time.

But with Frosty now in the mix, Todd and
Amanda had to make a foolproof plan.

People have said, if we lose, you're
going home. That's not my call.

So, I mean, it will help, though, for
you to fight even harder, to win.

Because it's either win and end up going
really far in the game.

I mean? And I like you way too much to

send you home. We're not trying to
blackmail you. I promise I'm not. I

So we had to throw that blackmail in his

look kind of dumbstruck.

I mean, they know I have to be. Yeah, I
trust you now.

We blackmailed Frosty because we don't
want him giving any information to John

Hu today. And with Frosty helping us win
as much as he can and James helping

John Hu lose as much as he can, I'm
pretty confident that we'll win the

challenge today.

At the immunity challenge, Frosty put
his best foot forward in an effort to

in the game.

But Denise couldn't get her head around
the task.

ongoing loyalty paid off.

And Sharia was voted out.

Even though James and Todd's plan didn't
pan out, James' spirits were up when he

found the second hidden immunity idol.

That's funny.

Almost as if I were with two idols.

Later that day, Jamie and Eric found a
discarded plaque that James had left

behind.

This used to be hanging on the archway,
and it looks like someone took it off.

It could definitely say, like, immunity
idol in Chinese, and I'd have no idea.

It's a weird symbol, so I don't know
what it stands for.

James had a laugh when he noticed the
plaque was gone.

The thought of this woman having a blank
one.

That

night

when James was away from camp, Jamie
decided

to do some snooping.

I think it's the same thing we have.

But in the dark, she was unable to
differentiate James' idols from her own.

On day 20, drop your buck, the tribes

merged. And had a

celebratory feast.

Oh, my God, we get to eat.

Good. Yeah,

girls.

And the party carried on throughout the
night.

You guys, I'm a little drunk.

Who is over there? Is that Eric and
Jamie?

Jamie, is that you?

I'm not drunk.

You guys, I think we're on the last legs
of this canteen. It's almost drained.

Tonight at the feast, we had some, like,
potent snake stocking. I don't know

what was in it. It was really strong.
You could feel it burning in your mouth

This is like a survivor singing the

Amanda. We live in a jungle and a tree.

We have no tarp. And no food.

But we have fire.

This little liquid lubricant has worked
its magic.

Because I knew the alcohol would only

My mom's going to kill me. What?

The guys broke out the wine and they've
been sucking down at the last couple

hours and a couple of them are pretty
tipsy right now.

I'm a little older than the rest of the
kids. I don't want to be having a

hangover, but I think definitely Todd
and definitely Amanda aren't going to be

feeling too well in the morning.

On day 21, Jamie felt secure with her
place in the game.

If Todd sees me play the hidden immunity
idol tonight, he's definitely going to

be floored. I think he's probably going
to shock everyone, including Jeff.

I'm not as dumb as I look, and maybe
they're figuring it out.

And at tribal council, Jamie played what
she thought was an immunity idol.

But I found this at camp lying on the
floor.

So I thought it might be immunity.

This is not a hidden immunity idol. But
her hopes were tossed aside.

Seventh person voted out of Survivor
China and the first member of our jury,

Jamie.

Jamie? And Jamie became the first member
of the jury.

On the morning of day 23, James took
some time alone to clear his thoughts.

There's a bunch of late people over
here.

They're just so tired.

You've got to motivate yourself.

I'm a grave digger.

I've been doing it my whole life.

My dad handed me a shovel at 11.

He told me to start working. And that's
all I've ever done.

All I do is work.

I'm used to being in the hot sun with
the shovel in my hand.

And over here, there's nothing for me to
do but, you know, provide.

I like cooking.

I like catching fish. I love providing
for people. I mean, that's what I do.

And it's one of the reasons why I'm
still here.

I mean, granted, the two others that I
do have are a big part of it, but I make

life easier over here.

I am that guy who's been kind of the
glue of the alliance.

I feel like I am the one who's holding
everybody together.

It's just right there.

It's so simple. Always stick together
and we'll be there.

At the immunity challenge, Courtney was
the last one sitting. Courtney!

Eric filled Jean Robert in on the secret
behind the immunity idols.

Looked in James' bag and there were two
of them. Wow.

This is the guy who's favorite to win
every challenge from here out.

So Jean Robert confronted James.

You have two immunity idols?

Two of them. You can't tell your boy?
Who would tell you? You can't tell your

boy? Nobody told me, bro.

I came up with.

There's a realization that you're
holding out on me. That's what I came up

When I find two idols, I'll just throw
you one.

Jean -Robert came up with a plan to take
out his closest ally.

We could blindside him tonight, because
he will not pull out the idol tonight. I

know, I know. Let's see how it goes.

I was kind of bothered by the fact he's
coming up with all these ideas that I've

had for days now. But Todd turned the
tables on Jean -Robert.

I think, I think our best bet is...
Yeah, I don't want to call it a rookie

system. You don't want to call it the
next one?

No.

But at Tribal Council, James took the
risk of not using one of his idols.

James. And almost paid the price. James
received three votes.

One vote left.

But in the end, Jean Robert, with five
votes, was dealt a losing hand.

Jean Robert, job is spoken.

At the reward challenge, PG was captain
of the red team.

Eric, captain of the yellow.

Nope. PG's team dropped the ball.

James, too hard. PG can't get it. And
Eric's team bounced to victory.

Frosty, Amanda, Eric, and Courtney
cruising down the Lee River.

During the cruise, Courtney grew closer
to Frosty.

I love my Frosty. I love my Frosty.

Back at camp, PG blamed James for losing
the challenge.

I'm so close right now.

I did not see your ass strolling back to
the mat every time you dropped the

ball.

That's why y 'all lose.

You quick to blame.

You know, I didn't take a walk right
now.

PG, he's just stupid.

After she cooled off, PG tried to make
amends.

After losing the reward challenge, I was
really pissed to have lost, but I

shouldn't have taken it out on James.
So, I don't know. I'm in like a really

position.

But at the immunity challenge, PG wins
immunity.

PG narrowly beat Frosty.

With PG immune, the former Faye Long saw
Frosty as the biggest threat.

You've got to vote before you have to
go. James and Denise are scared to death

that you would not be willing to vote
against Frosty.

And Todd tried to sway Courtney's
decision.

I love the kids, but we don't have a
choice, right?

We'll see how it goes. Frosty's kind of
like my little munchkin, and everyone's

kind of worried about me because they
know that he's, you know, like my good

friend.

That night at Tribal Council, ninth
person voted out and the third member of

jury. Todd's efforts paid off. Frosty,
Tribal's spoken.

All right, tonight you will not be
heading directly back to camp.

We have more business to attend to here.

Where 16 once stood, only seven remain.
