The one who started all of this is not me, but your father.

Is there anything else you haven't told me?

There's nothing else you're hiding from me?

How do I tell her?

No excuse will suffice...

What if she hangs up after hearing my voice?

Will I be able to live if this is the end?

Hello?

It's me, Soo Ha. Don't hang up and listen to what I have to say.

I heard everything from Lawyer Cha.

I've been waiting for your call, Park Soo Ha.

Are you looking for Jang Hye Seong?

Jang Hye Seong is with me right now.

Where are you?

Where are you?!

Where are you right now?!

Don't freak out and listen carefully.

Jang Hye Seong's life depends on how you act.

Don't you dare put a finger on her or I'm going to kill you.

That's what I want. Park Soo Ha,

So, don't do anything rash.

Don't call anyone and come here within 1 hour.

Right now, I'm on the rooftop of Gi Jeong Complex.

If I sense that there is anyone with you,

I'll kill Jang Hye Seong.

You understand?

Let me hear her voice.

Let me hear her voice to see if she's alive!

Speak. He wants to hear your voice.

I said to talk.

Soo Ha, definitely do not come here and call the cops instead.

Don't ever come alone.

Don't worry about me-

[July 26, 2013. 3:10 p.m.]

[3:10 P.M.]

She was kidnapped by Min Joon Gook.

And two and a half hours later,

our story of 11 years came to an end.

~Episode 17~ Without Your Eyes, I Can't Even See in Front of Myself

Lawyer Jjang disappeared.

What do you know?!

The lawyer didn't come.

My cellphone's not here.

I'll find out myself.

[3 hours earlier --12:10 P.M.]

-Hey, stop right there! -Stop!

4885.

Are you okay?

That jerk, in broad daylight, too.

I need to find that bag.

Don't worry, I know that guy.

Yeah, it's me.That 4885 guy caused trouble again.

Go to his hide-out and wait for him there.

Mister, I got the item.

Where do I need to go?

Lawyer Cha! Look at me. Now.

I'm looking at you.

Try to explain. What is all this?

Who is Reporter Park Joo Hyuk? And,

who is this grandmother with Alzheimer's and her grandson who died of starvation?

I can't tell you.

Lawyer Cha!

I can never tell you.

I'm sorry. I don't like lying to you,

so please don't ask anymore.

You may believe that you're doing it for me.

However, there must be a reason.

Because you're that kind of a person.

It's either one or the other.

If I know, I might get hurt or

someone else may be hurt.

If the reason is me, then I'm really disappointed.

That I look so pathetic, to you, as to be unable to handle this kind of thing.

Fine, I'll find out by myself.

Reporter Park Joo Hyuk is

Park Soo Ha's father.

The grandma and the grandson are

Min Jook Gook's son and mother.

And, the one who sent this to you

was Min Joon Gook.

Min Joon Gook sent this?

Why?

He didn't just send it to Lawyer Jjang.

He sent it to everyone, including me and Soo Ha.

Why this?

What does he want to say?

I think the reason why Min Joon Gook's wife died has something to do with Soo Ha's father.

Last time when Min Joon Gook sought me out, he

said that was the start of everything.

Also, that he's going to see the end of it soon.

End?

What's the end?

[12:55 P.M.]

Mister.

Where's the bag?

Here.

Did you show him your face?

No, I was wearing sunglasses.

You told me not to show him my face.

You did well.

What? Cell phone was all you needed?

Yeah.

You take care of the rest.

I'll pay you once the plan goes well.

Who pays after the work is done, for this kind of job?!

Ah. If he wasn't my cellmate's friend, I would've taken everything from him.

The phone you're trying to reach is unavailable right now...

He's never turned off his phone before.

Is this Seong Bin?

Yes, Unni.

Did you perhaps talk with Soo Ha today?

No, he should be in class right now.

No, even during his class he always had his phone on.

But, it's turned off right now.

Maybe his battery died.

Really?

Okay.

Who was that?

It's Lawyer Jjang.

She's concerned because she can't contact Soo Ha and his phone is turned off.

Is it something to be really worried about when

he could be in class or his phone battery died.

That woman always played hard to get.

Did their relationship finally get started?

Oh, Park Soo Ha.

He has some skills.

What do you mean relationship?

It's still a one-sided love.

No, the way I see it that woman must also like Soo Ha now.

No, no. The way she was playing hard to get was a bit much, so maybe she's liked him even then.

Oh, seriously.

No, not Lawyer Jang.

Lawyer Jang is like a steel wall.

She won't ever fall for him.

How do you know that?!

Even though I don't know anything else, I understand her perspective.

But, why do you always take care of your hands?

It doesn't fit you at all.

Hey, since I use my hands for my job,

naturally, I need to take care of them.

Really?

Regardless, I'm earning a lot of money, thanks to you.

Stay like that for 30 minutes.

I'll do your pinkie for free, as a service.

What about this?

Hey, Go Seong Bin! Hey!

Go Seong Bin, your eyesight isn't +100,

but -100.

4885. How long has it been since you were released and you're causing trouble again?

I know, right? At least change your license plate. It's too obvious.

Aish.

[1:30 p.m.]

Prosecutor Seo is putting in some effort to match her father's mood.

But this guy wasn't the type to enjoy this type of stuff.

I know what you mean.

Attorney Shin, send it to me.

I'll use it for a long time to tease her.

Turn on the phone, idiot!

But it is on.

I wasn't saying it to you, Yoo Chang.

Attorney Jjang.

Don't you have a hearing at 2 p.m.?

Oh my. It's already that time.

Let's go together. I also have a hearing at 2 p.m.

Okay.

Lawyer Cha could've just gone straightfrom the detention center to the courthouse.

Did he come back to escort Lawyer Jang?

It seems so.

But, Lawyer Jang has no feelings for Lawyer Cha.

So, why does she keep accepting his kindness?

When he's doing that, it would be the polite thing to tell him to just cut it!

At this rate, people will say thatshe's keeping the guy on the hook.

Ah

Hey, how come you underestimate people?

Does that look like keeping a guy on the hook?

Why are you like this again?!

If that's not keeping a guy on the hook, then what is it?

Lawyer Cha still has a lot of debt towards Lawyer Jjang.

He released the criminal that killed Lawyer Jjang's mother.

Consider if the guy tries to kill Lawyer Jjang this time.

Then, with his personality, Lawyer Cha would never be able to stand up again.

He won't be able to function as a lawyer or do anything.

That's why he is trying his best to protect her.

Acknowledging all that, Lawyer Jjang accepts his kindness.

Soo Ha.

Here.

You really found it. Thank you.

Thank you so much.

Check if there's anything missing.

Okay.

It's here.

Anything else? What about your cellphone and your wallet?

My cellphone's not here...

I don't think my cellphone is here.

That bastard, hid it so quick.

Don't worry. I'll tell them to find that too.

You can take your time with the cellphone,

But since you've found this, it's enough.

I'm off!

Hey, don't run!

What time does your trial end today?

It should end at about 3:30.

Then I'll come and wait, so let's go together.

Even the detectives are guarding me... it's alright.

It isn't bad to have more protection either,

Call me later, okay?

Lawyer Cha?

Yes?

Nothing. I'll call you when I'm done.

Okay. See you later.

Why can't I contact him?

Piece of gum

Hey, stupid. Where are you right now?

Why did you turn off your phone? I was worried!

Do you remember my voice?

Are you looking for Park Soo Ha?

Why do you...

Why do you have Soo Ha's phone?

Why do you think? It's because he's with me right now.

Is Soo Ha safe?

For now. But, the situation will change depending on how you act.

What do you want?

Don't worry. I have no interest in this kid.

The one I have a grudge with is you.

Where are you?

That's right. This is how it should go.

Come to the rooftop of Gi Jeong Complex right now.

The moment you bring someone, this guy dies along with me.

Don't tell anyone and come by yourself.

You get what I'm saying, right?

Hello? Hel...

What do I do about Soo Ha?

What do I do about Soo Ha?

Taxi Driver, Gi Jeong Complex, please. Please hurry up.

Gi Jeong Complex?

Isn't that area being demolished now?

Not yet. Please go quickly.

[Judge Electric Fan]

[2:30 PM] The number you're calling is not available at the moment...

Why does she keep a phone that doesn't work?!

It seems the lawyer has a problem today.

Today's trial will be postponed until next week.

You came?

Is Lawyer Jang not here?

She had a trial at 2 o'clock, so she went to the courthouse.

She went with Lawyer Cha.

Ah, is that so? Thank you!

I didn't think she'd fall for this so easily.

Yes?

Did today's trial end?

No, it didn't even start.

Why?

The lawyer didn't show up.

It was a 2 o'clock trial, but she hadn't come, even after 30 minutes had passed,

so it was rescheduled for a later date.

Why didn't she come?

I don't know.

The Judge called many times, but I guess he couldn't get ahold of her.

[Lawyer Cha]

Hello? Is this Lawyer Jjang?

She hung up.

I dropped her off at the courthouse.

Is it perhaps... because of that news article?

No way, it can't be.

By any chance,

did you tell Lawyer Jang about my father?

What?

Yeah.

When Lawyer Jjang went through my drawer,

she found the news-clips that Min Joon Gook had sent.

I'm sorry, but there was no other way.

She now knows... about all?

Yeah. Almost.

That's why... That's why she disappeared.

No! This has nothing to do with her knowing that. This must be...

You know nothing!!!

Why did you tell her?

Park Soo Ha!

Park Soo Ha!!!

[3:05 PM]

Subtitles brought to you by The Inner Voice Team at Viki

Are you awake now?

You're brave.

Did you think you can fight against me with just this?

What about Soo Ha?

Where is Soo Ha?

Park Soo Ha isn't here.

I have only this.

Even if one is a very rational person,

in this kind of situation, one usually becomes irrational.

Turning into an idiot.

I've been there, done that, so I understand it very well.

What are you trying to do now?

What are you planning to do?

At first, I was going to kill you and that kiddo.

But in that fishery...

That kiddo's words

drove me...

very crazy.

Kill me!

What's different between you

and the me of 11 years ago?

I'm different.

Unlike you,

I'm not going to live as a beast.

Never.

He said he wouldn't live as a beast like me.

"Not going to live as beast like me"...

I wondered if that kiddo would be able to say the same thing, given the same situation I've gone through?

He said he'll not live as a beast like me.

What are you thinking to do now?

Rather than killing you two,

I'm thinking to draw a different picture.

You... can't possibly...

I'm also curious.

if he can really do that.

In a situation of losing all his beloved people, just like I had,

will that kiddo be able to endure it without becoming a beast?

You're also curious, right?

I'll show you.

[031-678-1243]

Hello?

It's Soo Ha. Please just listen to me and don't hang up.

I heard everything from Lawyer Cha. That you found out about my father-

I've been waiting for your call, Park Soo Ha.

Are you looking for Jang Hye Seong?

Jang Hye Seong is with me right now.

Where are you?

Where are you?! Where are you right now?!

Don't say anything and listen carefully.

Right now Jang Hye Seong's life depends on how you act.

Don't you dare lay a finger on her or I'm going to kill you.

That's exactly what I want.

So, Park Soo Ha, don't do anything rash

and don't call anyone.

Come by yourself within 1 hour.

I'm at the Gi Jeong rooftop right now.

The moment I notice anyone is with you,

Jang Hye Seong dies, you understand?

Let me hear her voice.

Let me hear her voice to see if she's alive!

Speak.

He said he wants to hear your voice.

I said talk.

Soo Ha, definitely do not come here, contact the police instead.

Don't you dare come alone! Don't worry about me and...

No way...

What do I do?

What...

What should I do?

That kid. I almost had him.

Did you see it?

Don't misunderstand! My finger was bleeding, so I

sucked it.

Choong Gi, let me use your cellphone.

My cellphone?

Why, did you lose your cellphone?

Hey, Park Soo Ha?

What is that bastard doing right now?!

Did he just steal my cellphone?!

Where's Park Soo Ha?

Ahjussi, who are you?

I'm a cop.

You met Park Soo Ha, right?

Where is that kid?

I don't know.

Catch him for me please. He just stole my phone.

What?

But, what's wrong with him.

Something seems wrong.

When I saw his eyes, it looked like he cried a lot.

Tell me your cellphone number.

Okay, 010...

Is it our first time talking like this?

It's been 11 years and our communicating has been difficult throughout that time.

Right?

Don't think about doing anything rash and just turn yourself in.

This is the end for you.

I know. That this is my end.

I brought you here to see my end.

And, what is that?

I told you earlier.

Before I leave, I'm going to turn that kid into a beast.

Just like me 11 years ago..

Anyone, in this world, who was in my situation. would have turned into an animal,

I will show you.

Soo Ha will never become someone like you.

Don't be so sure.

I also didn't expect my life to end up like this either.

I know why you became this way,

and what your problem was.

Because of Soo Ha's father, you lost your wife.

And, because of my testimony, you think your mother and son died, right?

You're pretty smart, Jang Hye Seong.

You found out everything?

That's right. The person who started this wasn't me,

but Soo Ha's father.

No.

The person who started all this was you.

Don't act like the victim.

You are just a murderer.

Ever since you killed Soo Ha's father and my mother,

all your reasons and excuses disappeared.

It started right then.

What am I suppose to do when no one would listen to me?

The doctors and police, no one would even listen to me.

Should I just stay still? Just live with it?

Do you think that's possible?

Do you know that? Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.

If you live like that, everyone in this world will become handicapped.

The ones who treat you badly

are doing that because they are jealous.

Don't hate those kind of people.

Just feel sorry for them and have pity on them.

Do you understand?

Now, I know why my mother

left those words when I look at you.

I know how you've lived your life for the past 11 years.

Revenge, hatred . . .

Since you've lived your life like that for 11 years,

how much of a hell you must have gone through.

What?

Don't think that Soo Ha will become like you.

Soo Ha is different.

I told you not to be so sure.

I am sure.

The Soo Ha that I know

is not as pathetic as you.

Shut up!

[3:45 P.M.]

Hello?

It's me, Park Soo Ha.

Where are you? Did you find Lawyer Jjang?

Yes.

Lawyer Jjang has been kidnapped by Min Joon Gook.

What?

Min Joon Gook threatened me to come alone. Otherwise, he would kill Lawyer Jjang if I call the cops.

Where are you right now?

I'm almost at Gi Jeong Complex. He told me to come to the rooftop.

You can't. You can't go in by yourself, ever.

There's no other way. So-

If you go there, you'll be trapped by Min Joon Gook.

If I don't go, she'll die!

You could end up dying instead. This isn't for Lawyer Jjang.

So,

you save me.

I...

don't want to die.

Before, I thought I didn't care if I died while protecting her,

but, now it's not like that.

If something goes wrong with me

that person will be hurt.

Please, save us both.

Get help from the police and save us.

I'll hold out until you get here.

I'm asking this of you.

Kid.

You kept your promise very well.

You really came alone.

Taxi!

Drive me to the Gi Jeong Complex.

Yeah, Sunbae. Min Joon Gook kidnapped Lawyer Jjang.

I know. I am in the Situation Room.

We're tracking down Lawyer Jang's phone right now.

Lawyer Jang and Min Jong Gook are at Gi Jeong Complex.

What? Gi Jeong?

That place is a ghost town.

Right now, Park Soo Ha has gone there by himself, saying that he'll save her.

What?!

That idiot.

Hey, you should have stopped him!

There was nothing I could do.It's something that was already underway.

Can you request the SWAT Team?

Yeah, I have to. We'll go there right now.

Min Joon Gook is thinking of killing them both and then himself.

The situation can become deadly.

You're saying he's going to commit suicide?

Yeah.

It's a bad feeling, but I think Min Joon Gook wants to make Soo Ha into a murderer.

Since safety of the hostages is the priority,

one over here and another here.

Everyone have their guns ready.

Detective Ha, take care of here on the left.

Okay.

Especialy since Min Joon Gook can harm himself, go over here.

-Keep that in mind.-Alright.

Subtitles brought to you by the Inner Voice Team @Viki.

[4:10 P.M.]

Where is she?

As you instructed, I came alone. So release that person now.

Since you're so calm, it's boring.

Why? Why don't you attack me like last time?

I know why you're doing this.

Also, I have no intention of doing so.

Didn't I tell you last time?

I'll never live my life as a beast like you.

A beast... Do you think I was a beast from the get-go?

I was also a human, in the beginning.

Thank you! Come back again!

I had a wife that I loved.

In order to save her life, I did everything I could.

They said that she could live if she had a heart transplant.

So I earned money like hell; living two days in a single day.

When a donor heart was found for her,I was happy, as if I had the whole world.

Just like that, I was just a human.

But then, just one hour before the surgery, that heart was stolen by your father.

To save your mother, he stole my wife's heart. Your father did.

With just a few news articles, he convinced the doctor,

and manipulated the priority list. Did you know that?

I know.

Then, now you must know that it was your father who started all of this first.

No.

The one who started everything is you, Min Joon Gook.

By killing my father, you became just a murderer.

You're saying the same thing as Jang Hye Seong did.

Where is she?

I asked where is she?!!

When someone loses everything, you know,

that person becomes a beast no matter what.

There is nothing for that person to fear.

Actually, I didn't mean to kill her.

I just wanted to use her as a bait to lure you,

Then, let her go.

But that b**ch provoked me, saying you would be different from me.

Suddenly, I was enraged.

So...?

Did you kill her?

Yeah.

I killed her.

Did you really... kill her?

You said you would spare her life if I came here!!

That b**ch dug her own grave.

How do you feel?

[4:40 PM] Hurry up!!

How do you feel?

You're pissed off, about to go crazy, huh? You want to kill me, don't you?

Then, kill me.

Kill me.

That's right, now you know,

11 years ago, how I felt when I started.

No matter how much you hate him to the extent you want to kill him, don't kill him.

Once you do, all the reasons are gone.

She's alive.

What?

You're hiding your eyes in front of me,

it means that you don't want to be caught by me.

And, that means you are lying right now.

Am I not right?

She's now alive.

I'm sure.

I told you I killed her.

JANG HYE SEONG!!!

JANG HYE SEONG! YOU CAN HEAR ME, RIGHT?

Listen carefully! I WILL NEVER

KILL THIS MAN!

I'm going to keep my promise with you!

I will never live as a beast!

I will keep the promise I made, for sure.

So don't worry and just wait for me! Got it?

Lawyer Jjang! Lawyer Jjang!!!

Lawyer Jjang! Are you alright?

I told you I killed Jang Hye Seong... You!

How many times do I have to tell you for you to understand?

No . . . She's alive.

And even if...

Even if she's not,

my choice is the same.

I won't live like you.

You're showing off till the end, you are...

We should go to the rooftop.

It's dangerous! Since the police are down there, you should go down and get treated...

I TOLD YOU WE HAVE TO GO!

That person...

would never want me to waste my life by taking revenge on you.

Just like your wife...

If your wife knew you were living like this,

she would have been tormented too.

You look so horrible now.

So horrible and pitiful.

My choice has been made.

So don't use me anymore to justify your life.

It's over now. The police are here.

Give up and just turn yourself in.

Bring her the heart!

You said she'd have the operation!

Please. Let her have the operation.

I have money. Save her.

It's my wife's turn! Please get her the heart. Save her.

I don't want to die.

Honey, save me... Please.

She'll go for the operation soon. Everything will be fine. Don't worry.

Thank you, Doctor.

I said save her!

Father!

I said I would kill you if you told!

So that b**** became a lawyer.

He is not guilty.

Kill me.

Just like me!

Go ahead, kill me.

I'm thinking about what do to next.Should I stop here,

or should I go until the end.

What are you trying to do?

I told you.

That this is my end.

Don't!

Park Soo Ha.

Let's go together.

Arrest Min Joon Gook!

Get Park Soo Ha to safety.

Call an ambulance, quick!

Let go! Just kill me instead!

Let go of me!

Just kill me instead!

Park Soo Ha, are you okay?

Soo Ha.

Yes.

Are you hurt?

I think I got hurt.

Where's Lawyer Jang? Is she okay?

I don't know. The other team hasn't contacted us yet.

No!

No! No!!

No!

[5:05 P.M.]

Thanks for your hard work, Sunbae.

If it wasn't for you, it would have been dangerous.

If we'd found out about the location just a little bit later,

we wouldn't have been able to deploy the air mattress or send out the SWAT Team.

It's Park Soo Ha who handled the situation well.

You're here. Hello.

Is Hye Seong okay?

Yes. She does have a head wound, but otherwise, she's fine.

She's being treated right now.

That's a relief.

Is Park Soo Ha okay, too? He didn't do anything rash, right?

Yes. He didn't do anything.

That would have been bad.

I, too, was really worried that Park Soo Ha would kill Min Joon Gook.

What about Min Joon Gook?

The doctor said he has no injuries other than a contusion.

So he was sent to the police station. He'll be interrogated right away.

When the interrogation is over, let me know right away.

Yes, Prosecutor.

Min Joon Gook won't be able to escape this time.

Murder, blackmail, retaliation, and even assault.

I'm going to find out everything and file charges.

Of course. It's not worth executing that human.

Yes, a worthless human like him should be isolated from society forever.

Why'd you come looking for me?

I feel like there should be at least one person in this world who knows my story.

I'm now thinking of going until the end.

Prosecutor Seo.

This might sound crazy, but

I think I pity Min Joon Gook a little bit.

Pity?!

Lawyer Cha, you really have gone mad!

You aren't in your right mind! That person killed so many people!

He is also the one who broke your arm!

I know. That he's a worthless human being.

-Jang Hye Seong! -Patient, patient!

-Jang Hye Seong!-Stop the patient!

Jang Hye Seong!

Prosecutor, do you know the difference between Park Soo Ha and Min Joon Gook?

No. I don't know.

And I don't even want to know.

Patient!

Min Joon Gook had no one.

-Where are you?

No one who trusted him. No one who listened to him.

-No one who loved him. -You can't be like this.

Jang Hye Seong! Jang Hye Seong!

And he had no one to protect.

But, if he'd had that one person,

he might have lived differently.

Like Park Soo Ha.

That's why I pity Min Joon Gook a little bit.

Hey, you idiot.

I worried that you might have died!

I heard you earlier.

I heard your voice.

Thank you.

For being alive.

July 26th, 2013 5:40 PM.

Min Joon Gook was arrested and the 11-years-long story among the three of us has finally ended.

How did your mother pass away?

A month after the heart surgery, she passed away.

There was a transplant rejection.

So that's why Min Joon Gook is even angrier, right?

The heart that was supposed to save his wife, disappeared so simply like that.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you.

As I became more greedy, I got scared.

I was scared that I might lose you.

Do I look like someone who would dump you because of something like that?

I've told you multiple times.

That I have a personality that outshines most people's.

Don't blame yourself.

It's not your fault.

Thanks.

In that moment, both of us forgot something important.

Since Min Joon Gook had been captured, his hidden past would be revealed to the world.

And, when that past comes up...

My hidden past will also be revealed.

Also, I love you.

We were so happy that we were both alive that we completely forgot about it.
