Complex.

We're going to spend the day with Kyle
Lamb, former Delta Force operator and

Battle of Mogadishu survivor.

If there's one guy I can learn from how
to shoot long -range big guns, that's

the guy.

Kyle decided to bring his 12 -year -old
grandson, Denver, and I will be

competing with him. The kid is shooting
since age of four, so he has eight years

of experience, and I've never shot a
long -range rifle.

Hey, Pavel, while you're at the Frothy
Monkey drinking soy latte, I'm out here

training. He is a certified trash
talker. He is probably the most badass

I've ever met.

And that got me thinking. If there's one
thing I learned so far on this show is

that manhood is taking responsibility
and serving community.

Part of that is teaching younger
generations how to do the same thing.

All right, Denver.

Who's your daddy? What does he do?

Good morning.

Paolo, how are you doing?

Good to see you.

Denver, I heard a lot about you.

John. Good morning. Nice to see you. The
judge for our competition today will be

legendary John Scouten, son of TV host
Jim Scouten. He has many lessons to hand

down as well.

This is a big gun.

Well, not really. No.

This is a big gun for me. Okay. Okay.
It's a Fig Cross, and that is a factory

rifle. So it's 6mm Cremor, so we're
shooting a 105 -grain bullet.

Oh, shit.

I'm sorry.

First thing we learn is about gun
safety.

Always be safe with guns.

They're fun, but they're really, really
dangerous.

We got some safety rules we're going to
follow.

The first one is we're going to treat
every weapon as though they're loaded.

Second of all, we're going to keep our
finger off the trigger unless we're

engaging a target.

What's another one, Denver?

Know what's behind your target and in
front of it. There we go. Know your

target. Identify your target. Know
what's in front and beyond your target.

The last rule is don't point your weapon
at anything you don't want to destroy.

Although, usually we look at it as at
least one cameraman is expendable for

every shoot that we do, right? Colton.
That's Colton. Then they showed me how

calibrate the distances, do the tick
marks, and adjust the wind.

So I could calibrate the scope. So that
little dot in the center is where we

want to put that target. Okay.

Then each one of these is .25 mils. So
John Boyd, what did he come up with?

Energy and maneuverability theory for F
-15s and F -16s. Very similar to what

ballistic coefficient is.

.25, .5, .75, 1, 1 .25, 1 .5, 1 .75, 2.

about a half of an inch is the size of
that target. So that's what Pavel's

to try to hit.

Okay, so I put up a target at 100 yards.
I'm going to have Denver get in

position, and he'll show you how to do
this.

First thing Denver's going to do, he's
going to pull out his empty chamber

indicator, and then he's going to turn
on his level. There we go. So see what

he's doing with his left hand?

He's putting his left hand back there to
control that bag in the rear.

If he squeezed the bag, the gun goes
lower. If he loosens it, the gun goes

higher. Okay, Denver, load it up. Now
what he's doing, he's getting his eyes

up and close the bolt.

getting close on the gun. We need to

There you go. And then let's turn our

shoulder square and try to just drop
down behind the scope. So he's three

down right in the middle of target, not
on a dot.

Okay. You did. You did. Exactly where
the gun was pointed. Okay, we're going

to... Can I go up in power? I think that

I'm feeling like he might be a bit of a

that he was probably a former Grom guy.

And he's holding out on me. I swear I've
never shot a gun like this in my life.

Now that you've seen Pavel shoot, do you
feel like you're going to have some

competition today?

Not really.

Honestly, not really.

Sometimes I even surprise myself.

Not terrible for the first time.

But now it's competition with a little
bit of time restriction.

I might get annihilated by a 12 -year
-old.

But we'll see. Maybe not.

We're going to start right now. We're
going to have him shoot some of these

positions to get comfortable with it. So
now we're setting up behind the

vehicle. It's a little bit trickier
because the gun will slide around.

been shooting for many, many years. For
eight years he's been shooting.

We've practiced just for what we're
going to do here. Okay, good.

One more. Pavel come completely cold
from the sable and he's shooting really

well. Yeah, he doesn't have a chance of
winning, but he definitely has a chance

of shooting really well on this. And
that's what matters to me. If he goes

through this and he gets most of his
hits, I'll be ecstatic. If he just goes

through and shoots and doesn't do
anything, well, then that sucks. I want

learn and do it correctly.

What I love about you truly, and what I
think every man should be, you are some

dangerous guy.

At the same time, you're the warmest,
sweetest human on earth.

So the Bible says the meek shall inherit
the earth. A lot of people think that

meek is not. And I've always looked at a

meek person is the man that carries a
sword and knows how to use it, but

What happens to a lot of shooters, they
get tight on the scope because they

think it's going to make them shoot
better, and what it actually does, it

restricts your view, and then the scope
will come back and hit you. I didn't see

you get that close, but you got it good.

This is going to cost you extra, bro, to
have me do this cosmetic surgery on

on the perch where it's going to be

We have instituted a 60 -second time
limit for the engagement. So any shots

fired in 60 seconds count as misses.

Obviously, that adds an additional
pressure.

I'm going to have him shoot at 500

play in Denver's favor. He's compact.

This is going to be a tight kneeling
position for Pavel as a full -statured

Denver's got all the moves. He knows how
to manipulate the rifle. He knows how

to build a quality position.

be a competitive shooter, whether you
intend to just have an understanding of

the safe function of firearms. A real
