and diagnosed histoplasmosis.

It's contracted from a dimorphic
fungi in bird droppings.

One of the endemic mycoses?
Yes, sir.

It's relatively asymptomatic
when confined to the lungs,

but life-threatening
if it enters the system as a whole.

I thought it might be worth

investigating with regard to your
elderly gentleman.

But I didn't want to jump to
conclusions.

Good doctors never jump to
conclusions.

But they can reach for them.
