[Walk into Your Memory]

[Episode 2]

It smells pretty good. Try it out.

Let's try this out.

Not bad.

It tastes just as good as the stock.

It should be enough for the banquet tonight.

But it won't be a permanent replacement for the stock.

Anyway, it was my fault.

Even if I go, I have to handle it.

Wait.

You don't need to leave right away.

An Ning's grandfather is my master.

He asked me for a favour,

so I took An Ning with me.

In terms of culinary art, she has a great affinity.

Which is why I believe...

she will come up with a solution for this issue.

As for what you said just now,

I actually overheard some of it.

Mr. Long.

I believe there must be some misunderstanding.

You have my word,

she is definitely not a mole.

I hope you will give her another chance.

I certainly trust you.

Very well.

I shall set this matter about the mole aside.

However,

with her behaviour,

I am not convinced about her skills.

Don't worry about that.

An Ning may be insensible at times,

but I can assure you she has skills.

Very well.

In that case,

I shall give her another chance.

If she can convince me with her cooking,

I will let her stay.

You must never forget...

that your dream is to be a chef.

Try it out.

I want you to show me your skills.

This is what you made?

You asked for the most convincing work.

Hao Qian.

Stop eating like wolf.

Be careful not to choke yourself.

Granny, the Yangchun Noodle you make...

is the most delicious thing in this world.

Is that so?

My dear grandson,

I will make you some noodle for tomorrow too.

Granny.

Granny.

You have to get well.

So you can make me noodle.

I will make you...

your favourite noodle.

Granny?

Who exactly are you?

I am An Ning.

I mean...

the Yangchun Noodle...

and the confidential information,

how do you know them all?

I have trust in Gong Chen.

But if you are not a mole, there is no other reason.

Why would a mole know anything about the Yangchun Noodle?

Get your mind right.

We learn about the enemy before starting the fight.

If you didn't check on my background,

how do you know so much about me?

Background check? Why would I do that?

Indeed, why?

Either way, I am not a mole.

Before you earn my trust,

you should at least give me a reason to.

Actually,

I can look into people's memories.

Do you think I will believe that?

Yes.

It sounds very magical.

But just because you haven't seen it yourself,

doesn't mean it's not true.

I have never been to New Zealand,

but the country still exists. It's the same.

You haven't been to New Zealand,

but there are others who've been there.

You can look into my memories?

Do you think I'll buy that?

When will you be able to get yourself a girlfriend?

Be careful not to touch him.

He will start puking.

You are Yi Ming Jun's good friend.

He told you that?

So this is why you hated it when I touched you.

You can't stand the touch of a girl.

He even told you that?

Why won't you believe me?

Forget it, I am done with the explanation.

So,

did I pass the test?

Explain how you know about the noodle and my business deal,

then you can keep your job.

I told you,

but you won't believe me.

What else do you want from me?

I'll give you a chance to prove yourself.

What is going on?

I thought she got fired.

Maybe this is the new benefit.

If you get fired,

Mr. Long will send you home personally.

Sending her home?

What is going on?

Who is going home with Mr. Long?

That newcomer An Ning.

What is going on now?

Granny, try to recall.

-Where do you live? -Try to recall.

Can you recall the address?

I don't know.

Hello, what's wrong with the old lady here?

She is lost.

But she can't remember where she lives.

She can't remember the contact of her family either.

She has no phone.

This could be troublesome.

Granny.

I know where she lives.

Let me send her home.

Old lady,

do you know her?

I...

I don't know.

Perhaps I should go with you.

Hold on.

I will get something for her.

Sure, let's get on the car.

Here, slowly.

Candied hawthorn.

You got your buttons the wrong way.

Let me help you.

We'll be at your home soon.

I am sorry.

Excuse me.

Have you seen the lady...

Mother?

Mother!

Mother, where have you been?

Mother. Are you all right?

-My son! -Mother.

My son!

Hello, sir.

Is this your mother?

Yes, she is.

Officer, you have my thanks.

She has the Alzheimer disease.

While the nurse was cleaning the clothing,

she sneaked out on her own.

Thank you so much!

You should thank the two of them.

We only found this place thanks to her.

-Thank you. -You are welcome.

How do you know my address?

I used to live nearby.

I've seen her before.

I see.

I know, this may be too formal,

but I don't know any other way to thank you.

-Take this. -No, thanks.

I didn't bring her home because of this.

-I can't take the money. -Just keep it.

My mind won't be at ease if you don't take this.

Thank you, I will accept the money.

No, I should thank you instead.

Well, I should send my mother home now.

Thank you, all of you.

How many times have I told you?

you can't keep going outside.

Candied hawthorn.

Candied hawthorn,

for my son!

Mother.

This is how you prove yourself?

Sending a neighbour home and get reward for the service?

I don't care if you don't believe it.

Miss,

-bless you! -Please.

Miss, god bless you!

-Quick, thank this lady here! -Thank you.

Little girl, what year are you in the school?

I am not going to school.

That can't be right, you need to study.

You need to work hard and contribute to the world.

-Is that clear? -Yes.

If you ever need my help,

I will be there for you.

Sure.

Pinky swear.

You are such a nice girl. How about an ice cream?

I will buy it for you.

What if they are frauds?

Were you scammed by a fraud?

This is how normal people think.

Hello, I will have an ice cream.

-Okay. -Thank you.

Here you go.

He was a farmhand.

His wife passed away in an accident two years ago.

All that he got left were his 70-year-old mother...

and his six-year-old daughter.

Just not long ago,

even his mother passed away.

And now,

both he and his daughter have tumours.

So,

life is...

full of desperations.

Here is your ice cream.

Here, have your ice cream.

Thank you.

You have another chance of proving yourself.

I am doing this for Gong Chen.

Fine, thank you.

Mr. Long.

-Is Hao Qian still having the therapy? -Not for the past two months.

Keep following up on this matter.

If he is taking therapy again, inform me at once.

Yes.

Min Er.

Aunty Lin came here to celebrate your birthday.

Show some gratitude.

He is right.

Thanks.

Madam Lin, I am sorry.

She is spoiled by the two of us.

I hope you are not offended.

It's okay.

I like how frank and straight forward she is.

In my heart,

I have already seen her...

as my future daughter-in-law.

Hao Qian is busy with the bay project lately.

He couldn't be here with us.

But he told me...

he will make it up by celebrating her birthday...

when he has the time.

Is that okay with you, Min Er?

Sure, I am full.

Enjoy your meal, goodbye.

Madam Lin, to your health.

Look at them.

Do you think they are closer?

They are in love,

madly in love.

No.

This man here...

is going to break up with his girlfriend.

His ex-girlfriend is back.

He is in love with her.

As for this girl here,

she is just a rebound love.

I think we should just be friends.

What do you mean?

Can you hear what they say?

No.

I feel it with my heart.

She is back.

I know,

this isn't fair to you,

but I have no other choice.

I am sorry for being late.

Do you know how long it took you?

It's been 30 minutes.

I am sorry.

You didn't answer my call.

What's the matter with you?

What do you think about this guy?

Is he a bad guy?

I wish I could have a boyfriend like him.

This girl was late to every date.

She always gave excuses.

This guy may be upset with her,

but while she was being late,

he was worried sick for her.

This man...

is not good at pleasing girls with words.

He is not one that likes romantic love.

But he makes her breakfast.

He picks her up at work.

Honey, call me when you get off work.

I will pick you up.

He remembers all of her favourites.

She also remembers all of his fears.

He loves her.

He protects her.

He will change for her.

Maybe he will even...

do something that he never thought he would.

Just like what they have today.

Honey, happy birthday.

Thanks.

Will you marry me?

When will I meet my Prince Charming?

My power makes me feel helpless sometimes.

You get to keep your job.

Really?

I shall believe you for now.

I will keep an eye on you.

You are making the right decision.

Right.

About my power,

will you keep it a secret for me?

Why?

I lost many jobs because of it.

So...

I doubt that is the reason you lost the jobs.

You speak and act too rashly.

-Hello? -Hao Qian.

What is wrong with you?

You promised me you would be here.

This is an...

important meal with your Uncle Liu.

It's important to you,

I didn't agree on meeting them.

Don't you know?

He will be play a crucial part in our project...

at the bay.

Don't be so childish.

Can't you think before you act?

I will acquire the bay project myself.

This is none of your business.

If you are interested in this project as well,

Long Teng Group welcome you to be our competitor.

How could you say that to me?

I am busy.

That's all. If this happens again,

don't bother calling me. I won't be there.

Contact Zhao if it's about business.

That's all.

Well, there is always someone fiercer than everyone I know.

The world never ceases to amaze me.

That was an eye-opener.

Your mother was pretty.

She is not my mother.

Are you an illegitimate child?

Just shut it.

An Ning is back!

Welcome back, An Ning!

Welcome back.

There was some misunderstanding.

I am sorry for the trouble I caused.

But we get to work together again.

I hope we make a great team together.

That is great!

Great!

Sister An Ning, while you were gone,

I was upset the whole time.

Stop calling me sister.

Just "An Ning" will do.

I think we are about the same age.

It's fine, it makes no difference.

Na Na is 22 years old.

Sister An Ning,

-how old are you? -Have a guess.

Well...

I am 24.

A year older than Ms. Ma?

Sister An Ning,

you look so much younger.

Wu,

Ms. Ma told you she is 23 years old?

Ms. Ma told me the same thing.

That is what she told us.

Boss.

Ms. Ma said she is 23.

I bet she is 32!

Enough.

You have all the time to talk about that...

and know each other better.

All of you, get back to work.

-Sure. -Great.

Thank you, Head-chef.

You fought for your right.

Go on.

An Ning,

does it hurt when the hot stock spilt on you?

You are annoying.

Let me give you a nickname.

From now on, you will be the Drenched Girl.

This is too much.

That was too much.

-You need a nickname! -Just eat your lunch.

Ms. Ma.

An Ning,

how did you convince Mr. Long?

He actually changed his mind and let you stay?

I convinced him with my charisma.

Sister An Ning,

are you married?

Don't be ridiculous.

Do you think marriage is a child's play,

that anyone can get married?

So, this is why you stay single all this time?

I am still eliminating the candidates.

You and I are on different levels.

And please, address me as Mr. Ma.

Yes, Ms. Ma.

We may be on different levels,

we ended up in the same situation.

In this world we live in,

the fight between single ladies...

is much worse than I thought.

The law of natural selection...

is to eliminate those who are not qualified.

Sure,

which is why you are eliminated.

Talking to a boring old man...

is a waste of time.

I am done.

Some people just can't see...

the charm of a mature man.

Ms. Ma.

whether a man is boring or not...

is not up to you to decide, okay?

What's the matter with him?

Haven't you heard?

They fight whenever they meet.

We got used of it.

But An Ning, you are amazing.

Other than the Head-chef,

you are the first to go against Ms. Ma.

We are all scared of her.

What is his job?

I think...

A chef!

No!

He is not a chef.

He is the owner of a hotel!

Yes.

Kids grow up,

we can't hold them back, I should just let her be.

Don't forget to invite me to her wedding.

Wedding?

Sure.

When An Ning gets married,

I will be sure to invite you.

-Sure, that's a deal. -Okay.

Her daughter got married,

what's so impressive about that?

You are even more of a show-off.

Father, haven't you heard?

She tries to show off everything to me while we are dancing.

Now that her daughter got married,

she won't stop asking me...

if An Ning has a boyfriend.

I can't let her get on my nerve.

No way.

Father.

Did you say...

something about a chef?

You want An Ning to marry a chef?

She should be grateful to even get a husband.

Asking for someone successful like a chef...

is simply too hard for her.

Why can't my daughter be more sensible?

She can't stay long in a job,

she can't even find a husband.

An Ning's chance of marriage...

is almost dwindling to zero.

I am still at work,

I can't have alcohol.

Are you trying to get me fired?

Only the smart gets to survive.

Your father wanted you to study in Canada.

And now you are working in the kitchen of my hotel.

I won't help you when you father asks about this.

"Celebrate when the time calls for it, do not waste the opportunity of joy."

Tell me,

what is the most important aspect of life?

Freedom and happiness.

In my whole life,

I love to be a chef the most.

I can make delicious cuisines,

have the finest wine,

enjoy the company of pretty ladies.

It's all I ask for this life.

You abandoned the Yi Group...

and became a line cook in my kitchen.

Is that what you want with your life?

Don't take this wrongly.

I didn't come here for your company's reputation.

Besides, with you watching my back,

it will be much safer for me.

You have the famous Mr. Gong Chen with you,

I have to come here.

I spent a great deal of time and money to get him here.

Do not mess this up for me.

Relax.

Right.

I thought you fired An Ning.

What changed your mind?

She has skills.

She managed the matter of spilt stock very well.

I decided to give her another chance...

and let her stay.

Are you sure this is the only reason?

It's not because she is pretty?

Did you spend so much time with women...

that even a pig looks beautiful to you?

That is too much.

You can't call her a pig.

I am bashing you.

Can't you tell?

Not at all.

I have to go.

I don't want you to think I am a freeloader.

Right, Brother Long,

cover me if my father ever asks anything.

Right, clean the bedroom for me.

I will be staying in your home starting tonight.

That is gross.

So long.

Calm down.

This is just an audition.

This is not the first time.

-Okay, you may go now. -Yes, Director.

Xia Tian, you are here.

Xia Tian, come in.

Do you need any drink?

It's okay.

Have a seat, make yourself at home.

Sir, I thought the production crew...

is preparing at the hotel.

Indeed.

Where are the others?

We are in no hurry.

Xia Tian.

You spent a fair share of time in this industry.

There are something...

you should know by now.

I am sorry.

I don't get it.

You have been...

an actress for years.

Do you know...

why you can never get famous after all this time?

You think too highly of yourself.

In our field,

we have no shortage of beauties.

We have no use...

for pride.

Understood?

I don't understand.

I am leaving.

What do you want?

Xia Tian.

Don't be such an ingrate.

Plenty of ladies are waiting to spend the night with me,

you get this chance thanks to me.

I am warning you, let go of me.

Let go or I will start shouting!

Xia Tian.

If you stay by my side,

I will make you an A-list star.

Think about the career you are having.

When will you ever learn?

I will never do anything for you!

Xia Tian.

I like how feisty you are.

Let go of me!

I like the way you are now!

Let go of me! Get off!

Remember,

for someone out there,

surviving means more than their pride,

but pride is the baseline that keeps me alive!

Your self-defence is pretty handy.

I bet that director is now crippled.

He laid his hands on me.

He deserves that.

This is your first day at work.

How was it?

I ran into a freak.

A freak?

Even someone like you thinks it's a freak?

He won't touch women.

Long Hao Qian.

I hate you.

I hate you, Long Hao Qian.

I hate you.

Hao Qian!

-Hao Qian! What's wrong? -Don't touch me!

-Hao Qian's what's the matter? -What's wrong?

Doctor,

what is going on with my son?

He suffered heavy trauma at the head.

He will be having temporary amnesia.

Don't touch me.

What's wrong, Hao Qian?

Who is she?

Who is she?

And that man,

who is he?

Hold on.

-Hello? -Come to my office.

You have one hour.

Be here or get a pay cut.

Who was that?

Speaking of the devil.

The meal is on you this time.

I have to go.

But I ordered so much food.

An Ning?

Why are you in a hurry to see me?

Did you change your mind again?

You can become a full-time employee.

and have a 20% salary increment.

I can send you to a college abroad.

I will pay for all the expanses.

Also,

you get paid an amount of money.

Just name your price.

You are giving me all of those?

What do you want?

Are you making me your mistress?

Can't you read?

I thought about it.

If you only use your power...

to help an elderly get home...

and see through a quarrel of a loving couple,

it would be a waste of talent.

Let's make a deal.

It will benefit...

the both of us.

You want...

me to help you find your missing memories?

Not just the memories,

but also the truth.

I want to know...

if that man...

was actually me.

Life is like a cuisine.

if you miss out on even a single condiment,

the flavour won't be perfect.

No matter how good it looks,

the taste will never be satisfying.

Life is full of all kinds of flavours,

the missing memories may be bitter,

but without those memories,

life will never be the same as it was.

An Ning.

Mum, I am behind the door.

Why are you behind the door?

I am stuck.

Why didn't you close the door?

I forgot.

What?

Did you get your salary this month?

I just started working there, I don't get paid right away.

Aunty Li's daughter is getting married, I need money for red packet.

You will pay for me.

-Why should I? -Because you are single.

That is enough of an embarrassment.

What now? You want me to pay for it?

I was hoping you can get married and I get the red packet back.

I might as well just wait for my 100th birthday.

I am still young.

Just go out, you are annoying.

Other than being young,

what else is great about you?

You have no education and no class,

You have bad temper and are grouchy,

you are dim-witted and reckless,

you are even weird sometimes.

Even your look and figure are underwhelming.

Mother.

-Am I really that bad? -Yes.

Well,

you never touched a boy's hand before,

that is not normal!

When you grow older,

you'll lose your only advantage.

You will be done for.

Get out! I am done talking to you!

Who says I don't have a good figure?

I do have a nice figure.

My figure is good,

not bad.

Try a better pose.

You have nothing special to begin with.

You are showing nothing but bones.

Little rascal.

You make me so mad. I am speechless.

I came to brush my teeth.

Who says I don't have a good figure?

The parts that should be firm...

is firm enough.

The parts that should be big...

are not big enough.

What happened?

Listen, when I came back to get my charger,

-I ran into someone. -Who is it?

It's An Ning.

What now?

She walked into Mr. Long's office.

Really?

-Let's get changed first. -Let's go.

Keep an eye on her.
