Yes, Thomas has made excellent progress,

but there are risks associated with being released too soon,

which is why we're monitoring you,

running and re-running tests.

I went for a run, and he was gone by the time I got home.

>> Meaning, he is, even after everything that Thomas has done?

>> I think he's still waiting for me to apologize to Thomas.

He doesn't think that you intentionally

pushed him off the cliff, does he?

Ridge does realize that. He-- He's not still blaming you?

>> He thinks that I overreacted because I hate his son.

>> Well, how is Thomas doing physically?

>> He's healing.

>> The question is, what's gonna happen

when he's released from the hospital?

>> I mean, surely he doesn't think he's just

going to go back to his wife as if nothing happened.

>> Thomas can't possibly believe that he's gonna escape

the consequences for what he's done.

And he's always gotten away with it.

Blowing up Rick's car, pushing him out the window.

He's never had to pay for anything.

Why should this time be any different?

Thomas is not gonna slither his way out of this,

and the reason I know that

is because I'm gonna make sure of it.

>> I understand you have a little boy at home.

>> Douglas, yes.

>> I'm sure he'll be glad to have his dad back home.

>> I sure hope so. Um, so what should I tell him?

>> I already told you, I'm not gonna release you

until you're ready.

>> But I am ready. >> Oh.

So that's your professional opinion now,

is it, Dr. Forrester?

>> I know how I feel, okay?

And--And I also know that staying here one more day,

It'll probably drive me up a freaking wall.

I mean, I just hate that this is causing tension

>> He really didn't believe you at first.

He--He thought that you pushed Thomas

over the cliff on purpose.

>> He was just upset. I mean, his son was in the hospital,

fighting for his life.

>> Okay, but what, like, is that supposed to excuse

what Thomas did, keeping the truth from Hope and me

all that time?

Ah, hey, I understand a father

wanting to be supportive of his child,

but Thomas is not a child. He's a full-grown man,

a full-grown man who has been manipulating all of us

to get what he wants, which is--which is Hope.

I mean, Hope is the one thing that's been driving

all of his behavior.

Hope is the reason that he showed up at Steffy's,

'cause she told him that she was annulling the marriage,

and he wouldn't accept that.

In fact, it's not even clear if he has yet,

or if he ever will.

>> So you agree he has not changed.

>> Yes! Of course not. What, you fall from a cliff,

and then your whole personality changes?

No, it doesn't work like that. He's not a different person.

He wants everybody to think he's a different person,

but it's the same guy, which is why I'm worried

about what's gonna happen when he's released,

like what's he gonna pull next?

>> What? He--He can't do anything, can he?

I mean, the whole marriage to Hope was a fraud.

If he fights the annulment, he'll--he'll lose.

>> Well, I think what Liam is trying to say is that

Thomas is...unpredictable and...calculating.

>> Exactly. >> Yeah.

>> That's exactly what he is.

I mean, that's--that's why he cleared Brooke of any fault

for his fall, right?

'Cause he's trying to score points.

And not just points with Hope or with his dad,

but, like, us, too.

I watched while he took advantage of Hope's suffering,

and if he thinks I'm gonna just move past that,

if Ridge expects me to...

But what happens when Thomas comes back from the hospital?

I mean, this has been his home.

He and Douglas have been living here

ever since they came back from New York.

And Ridge is gonna want him here,

close, recuperating.

I mean, what happens then?

Hope and I are living down there in the cabin with Beth,

and so Thomas is gonna come and stay here

and just totally respect that? No, of course he's not.

He's gonna try to insinuate himself again.

>> Then what happens? We're all supposed to just

act like it's fine, like turn a blind eye,

act like him coming back from the hospital

is some kind of fresh start? No.

The man systematically targeted my wife,

and he used his-- his innocent child as a puppet.

Now I-I-I cannot let that keep happening,

and, Brooke, I... I don't know if you can either.

>> When I was here before, it was about Thomas's fall

and what happened.

I haven't had a chance yet to question him

about Emma's accident, if that's really what it was.

>> It was. Tragic accident.

>> Well, as you're undoubtedly aware,

Xander Avant says that you were there that fateful night

when Emma's car went off Mulholland.

>> Detective, I know this is still an ongoing investigation,

and you wanna follow every lead,

but Xander and Thomas-- there was no love lost

between those two, so it wouldn't surprise me--

>> If he was pointing a finger at Thomas for retaliation

for threatening Xander.

>> Well, it's your words, not mine.

That's what you both think.

You let Xander's contention

that not only was Thomas there that night,

he was also chasing Emma, trying to stop her

from telling Hope the truth about her baby,

a secret that you wanted kept

because you wanted Hope for yourself.

Is that what happened?

My son is recovering from a very serious accident.

But if you wanna question him now,

I'll just make sure my lawyer's present.

The facts always have a way of coming out, don't they?

Her testimony could be damaging.

Look, I understand a father's need to protect his son.

Quite frankly, Mr. Forrester,

in the end, I believe that Emma Barber's death

and the lie and conspiracy about Hope and Liam Spencer's baby--

it's gonna catch up with Thomas.

'cause I know what a difficult position you're in,

being married to Thomas' father.

and how protective you've been of Hope as a mother,

and just the idea that you would let this guy

get away with what he's done to your family--

It's just this whole thing with Thomas.

Ridge swears he doesn't have blinders on

where Thomas is concerned,

and he realizes the harm that Thomas has done to so many.

But he won't hold him accountable.

He gets defensive,

and I push back,

and I don't want it to be that way.

But it's that way because of Thomas.

Thomas put me in that awful position.

I either have to fight to protect my daughter,

or I have to fight for my marriage to Ridge.

>> Can you believe this guy? He just--

He comes over here, and he's dredging up all this stuff

about Emma's death, thinking he can what,

he can--he can convince me to confess to something

I didn't do? What a joke.

>> Joke?

It's a joke to you? You think you can just shrug this off?

These are serious accusations.

>> You just told Detective Sanchez that--

I talked to Flo also,

and she can make life very difficult for you,

even--even from jail.

>> I thought you were on my side.

That doesn't give you a pass, not for what you did to Hope

or what you did to Emma.

Not--I mean, I-I know that... [ laughs ]

I know that you're--you're happy for Hope and Beth and me,

just...with Thomas still in the picture...

Listen, I don't want--I don't want anything bad to happen

between you and Ridge as a couple,

but enough is enough, right?

And--And Thomas keeps committing crime after crime.

Let's be honest. That--That is what they are.

He's committing crimes, like what he did with Emma,

running her off the road.

>> Okay, wait. The police are still investigating.

No charges have been made.

>> Yes, but until charges have been made,

he's a free man, Brooke,

and that's gotta scare you as much as it scares me,

'cause I-I don't want him anywhere

near Hope and Beth, right?

So if he moves in here, then--then what?

to give them time as mother and daughter to bond,

so that's like the last thing I want right now.

But I'm still convinced that

Thomas is just as devious as ever.

And Ridge doesn't see it, but you see it, and I see it,

doesn't do any more damage to our family?
