Arsenal Military Academy

Episode 05

I heard a few days ago,

when Ms. Qu was in Club Paramo,

she almost got abducted.

We're in troubled times now.

Bandits are rampant.

You should be more careful

when going outside.

Tingbai will protect me.

Don't worry.

Be careful when you go outside.

Or just stay at home if possible.

I can send more bodyguards to protect you.

Don't listen to him.

If he really wanted to hurt me,

he wouldn't say it out loud.

Right now,

the Japanese are in power.

No one dares to fight

against them except you.

You should be careful.

I'll fight against them if I have to.

But I will never bow and scrape to the Japanese

not in a million years.

What?

You looked like an adult when you were a kid.

How come you're so childish now?

I'm not childish.

You wouldn't understand.

Listen,

just take good care of yourself,

okay?

Stop it!

Don't touch my head.

So annoying!

Don't forget to dance with me later.

We'll see.

Miss,

can you do me a favor?

Please tell the man outside

that I need more time.

Don't wait for me.

OK.

Thank you.

He said it's OK,

and he isn't in a hurry.

You can take your time.

He will take you to the lounge for makeup after you finish.

Alright,

thank you.

Sure. You can continue.

Chairman,

should we teach Shen Tingbai

a lesson?

The Shens have run business in Shunyuan

for generations.

Shen Tingbai is well connected.

We can't mess with him for now.

Then we can start

with the people related to him.

Obviously,

he cares about that woman a lot.

Act with caution.

Don't make a huge scene.

If the military steps in,

the benefit

won't belong to us totally.

It's such an honor

to have the Mayor and

Vice Minister Gu here.

Don't be so polite.

Your father and I go way back.

I'm also gratified to see

you grow up.

Like father, like son.

Mr. Shen is so lucky to have a son like you

who can take over the family business

so that he can retire at an early age.

We do envy him.

Mr. Gu's son

is outstanding.

Everyone's known him

shortly after he came here.

Mr. Gu,

Yanzhen is in Shunyuan, too?

Why didn't you mention it?

Let's not waste time

talking about that brat.

Youngsters

are always naughty.

As long as we educate them well,

they'll be fine.

I hope so.

Excuse me for a while.

Alright.

Dad,

you said that the Shens and us are friends,

but why haven't I met him before?

You grew up in Peking

and went to Britain later.

It's normal that you don't know him.

He is the eldest son of your Uncle Shen.

Well,

don't you remember Uncle Shen

who gave you the mink?

I remember.

One year during the Spring Festival,

Uncle Shen came to visit and brought presents.

He gave my mom

a white mink coat.

Then he asked me what I wanted.

I said I wanted a living mink.

Then the next year,

he really came and gave me one.

I was afraid that it would get cold,

so I put it on the cage

beside the stove,

and cover it with thick cotton.

Then the mink died shortly after that.

If you like it,

I can have my people send you another one.

Really?

I just returned home.

I don't know anybody

or have any friends, either.

Later on,

you can ask me for the first dance

so that

we can be friends

and then I can accept your gift.

What's wrong?

You're a gentleman,

I'm a lady,

so you should obey my order.

You can't turn me down.

And,

it's rude to refuse a lady.

You won't do that,

right?

I don't know if I

have the honor to

invite Ms. Bai for a dance?

Sure.

Mr. Shen and Ms. Bai

really look like a perfect match.

They just like

the people from a painting.

She is the Mayor's daughter,

who is beyond commoners.

Ms. Du,

men like your cousin with such appearance

and family status,

can only be matched by Ms. Bai.

Others are

laughing stocks.

Sadly, there are so many people

who overestimate themselves.

Ms. Qu,

do I have the honor

to invite you for a dance?

Are you jealous?

Of whom?

Shen Tingbai.

He's pursuing me,

not the other way round.

Have you never fallen in love with anyone?

No.

And you?

Well,

me either.

Then we're even.

I helped you out,

and please don't bother me anymore.

Bother?

Why do I need to bother you?

Gu Yanzhen,

this isn't over!

You are so petty.

Yeah, you pissed off the wrong one.

Great Bravo!

Nice.

Excellent.

Ms. Xie.

Ms. Xie!

Sorry, I'm sorry.

I heard that

Mr. Shen's youngest son

is at the Academy, too.

He spoke on and on about that

the whole night.

Now the whole world knows that.

The two sons of Mr. Shen,

one is a patriotic businessman,

the other is a passionate officer.

So great.

Dad,

don't try to test me.

There is no need

to joke around in front of me.

How is the relationship between you two?

So-so.

Neither have we talked,

nor have we fought.

Remember,

keep a distance from him.

The Shens have crossed the line.

If they go on like this,

they'll get into trouble sooner or later.

Dad,

are there still decent people in your eyes?

I don't care about others,

but you're my son,

of course I care about you.

It's OK to make small mistakes,

but you should know

what's right and wrong.

I don't need you to grace our family,

but don't cause trouble at least.

Right and wrong?

Dad, you think too much of yourself.

Whether it's right or wrong

is not your call nowadays.

But don't worry,

I'm not interested in these things.

Zhao,

come with me.

Yes.

Young master,

with all due respect,

you shouldn't talk to your father like this.

Actually,

Mr. Gu has been upset these days.

The Japanese are sending more troops to Feng'an.

Although he is the Vice Governor of Feng'an,

he has no troops

or money in his hands.

Zhang Xihou, Bai Peiyong,

and people like them

all have evil intentions,

let alone those above them.

The military is also in disarray.

And the students

always launch marches

and petitions.

Mr. Gu hasn't slept well for days.

Look,

you've finally come back,

please don't upset him more.

Mr. Zhao,

who taught you to say these?

Pretty classy.

No one taught me.

The more you see,

the more you understand.

Mr. Gu's life isn't easy.

Please be considerate of him.

Fine, I got it.

Wait, Mr. Zhao,

I need you to check something for me

that

if there was a Ms. Xie in Shen's party tonight

who was around eighteen

and might've

come with her family.

OK.

I'll let you know as soon as I have the result.

Here.

Hi.

Take off your clothes.

What?

It is broken.

Let me stitch it for you.

That's fine.

Take it off.

Xiaojun,

bring me the sewing box.

OK.

The noodles smell good.

The Academy you work at

let their staff walk around

with holes in their clothes?

The salary they pay

isn't enough for me to drink.

If they pay you more,

you can even

clear out a liquor store.

I made a suit for you.

You can try it later.

I can fix it if it doesn't fit you.

Why did you make it?

I don't even have

a place to put it

and I have no chance to wear it.

The seventh day

is Nianqing's birthday.

Are you going to see her in this?

How time flies!

Twenty years

passed in a blink of an eye.

Well,

I'm full.

I need to go.

I haven't finished yet!

That's fine.

I'm so sorry.

Take off your clothes.

Let me check.

Doctor,

may I keep my clothes on?

What are you doing?

Why are you here?

I don't want to live with you.

Can't you knock?

Liangchen,

not bad at all!

You've progressed a lot.

I don't want to be at the bottom every time.

Practice makes perfect.

But the bullets I have

are running out.

Don't worry.

You can use mine.

I'm waiting for you to say this.

Huang Song,

did you hear that

the field training is coming soon?

Who said that?

When?

Soon I guess.

A friend of mine is working in the Mountsouth Tavern.

He heard it from the soldiers who drunk there.

Then that's possible.

I have no experience.

I won't do it well.

It's ok.

Don't worry.

You still got me.

I can't promise you other things.

But if you follow me

you'll be safe out there.

You always brag.

Let's go.

I'm really nervous about the field training.

I'll be counting on you.

But don't worry, I will¡

Sorry, my bad.

Are you blind?

I was in a rush.

Wait,

you are so skinny,

but

your chest muscle is huge.

Lunatic.

Really?

I don't even notice that.

Liangchen,

let me touch it.

Let me see how big it is.

What are you doing?

He is a man.

I just want to touch it.

You want to touch it?

Is it true?

Let me touch yours.

Come here, let me touch it.

I just want to see how big it is.

Let me touch yours.

Liangchen!

Go away!

Liangchen!

Ms. Qu.

What do you want to do?

Am I your prisoner?

I came back for work.

I have no time to waste on you.

Sorry, Ms. Qu.

Mr. Shen has ordered us

to protect you.

You can go outside

only if you tell us where you're going

and I will inform Mr. Shen.

We'll send you there once it's all set.

You said the same thing yesterday.

And you let me wait for a whole day.

There was a march at the place

you wanted to go yesterday.

It was not safe.

What about the day before yesterday?

There was also a march.

So there is

march every day, right?

Yes.

Workers' mood has been unstable recently.

Maybe

it's because of the weather.

Why don't you say it's the moon?

Just tell me

when their mood will become stable.

Judging from the current situation,

no day is safe enough.

Then I can't go outside forever?

You'd better not.

If you insist on going out,

just tell us where you want to go.

And we'll make

some arrangements to ensure your safety.

Let's go back.

Those guys must have done it on purpose.

Yes.

Even a fool can tell it.

Sure.

Everyone knows it.

But maybe he is right.

It's not safe outside.

Shunyuan is in anarchy.

Shanghai is better.

No.

If we keep staying here,

when will we finish the work here

and go back to Shanghai?

The filming site is funded by the Shunyuan COC.

Without Mr. Shen's permission,

none of us can start the filming.

I know a place suitable for filming.

You go

tell Director Lu.

You,

go pack my clothes.

You think I can't get out of here?

Stupid!

This is your first real military exercise.

I hope you can take it seriously.

You're going up against

professional soldiers who've

experienced the war.

Any carelessness

will bring you failure.

Remember,

only the one who respects

every exercise will survive the real war.

How long will it take?

Soon, I guess.

Drive steadily.

I want to have a nap.

OK.

It's such a rough road.

Why should we go there for filming?

Well,

there's something wrong with the original filming site.

Now we're going to the old house

of Manting's family.

Manting grew up there.

The scenery is beautiful.

Mr. Sanada,

ahead is the restricted military zone.

Go after them.

According to the rules,

you're all dead.

Let me ask you,

where is your headquarters?

Liangchen,

that's not enough.

You should be tougher.

Tougher?

I'm asking you!

How can we speak if we are dead?

Are we zombies?

Let's go.

Go to the dead soldiers' camp.

Hey punk,

this isn't over.

You have a problem?

Liangchen,

it's just the two of us here.

What can we do even if we

know where their headquarters is?

You said you were a master in the wild,

yet we got lost at the beginning.

No.

We didn't get lost.

They must've gone lost.

They said the gathering place was here,

yet none of them is here now.

Who knows whether the way you led is right or wrong?

Maybe we came to the wrong place.

That's impossible!

Are those from

Shen Junshan's team?

It's fierce.

Get down!

What's wrong?

We all use blanks

for the exercise.

But the gunfire came from

real bullets.

Then who are they?

Bandits?

Japanese?

Russian?

Anyone is possible.

Let's go check it.

OK.

You're insane.

Bastard!

Catch them!

The shots

weren't fired by our people.

Liangchen,

how about I go have a look

and you go find our team?

No way.

It's dangerous for you to go there alone.

Don't worry.

I'll be careful.

Take care.

Mr. Sanada, we shot one.

But the woman escaped.

You must catch that woman.

Yes, sir!

Yang.

Let's go.

Are you all right?

I can't run anymore.

You go first.

No,

we should go together.

There is no time.

Hurry up, Yang.

Wait. Calm down.

Listen to me.

They're here for me.

They won't harm you.

Listen to me.

You keep running with Tao.

Do what I said.

Manting.

Go!

You really don't know my ability

if I don't teach you a lesson, right?

Junshan!

Huang Song?

Ji Jin?

Why are you here?

It's so nice to see you.

What happened about the gunshots just now?

We also followed the gunshots

all the way to here.

Where is Xie Liangchen?

Wasn't he with you?

The gunshots didn't sound right,

so we decided to split up.

He went to find you.

I met Zhu Yanlin on the way,

so we came together.

I got separated from Li Wenzhong.

Where are you going?

Gu Yanzhen.

So

you didn't see Xie Liangchen?

No.

Junshan.

What should we do now?

Should I go report this

to the headquarters?

It'll be too late to wait for

the backup.

Besides,

we don't know who and how many people

we are against.

How about this?

Ji Jin,

you go back to report this first.

Huang Song,

you go with Zhu Yanlin.

Let's go find Liangchen separately.

Let's go!

OK.

Junshan, take your gun.

Let's go.

Xie Liangchen!

Xie Liangchen!

Xie Liangchen!

Hold tight!

Who is it?

It's me, me.

Me.

Li Wenzhong?

Ji Jin?

Why are you here?

I've finally found you.

Go away.

You don't know how dangerous it was.

There were gunshots everywhere.

And I got separated from Zhu Yanlin.

I thought I'd never see my dad again.

Enough, enough.

Man up, will you?

Wait! Wait for me!

Gu Yanzhen!

Gu,

Gu Yanzhen!

Gu Yanzhen!

Gu Yanzhen!

Does it hurt?

You said

someone pushed you off.

Did you see his face?

I passed out after I

fell into that pit.

I didn't see anything.

You said there were others in the forest.

Maybe one of them did it.

But why didn't he kill you

or catch you?

Maybe

it was one of us.

One of us?

Everything is possible.

One should never intend to harm others,

but should always guard against the harm others might do to him.

Be careful from now on.

You're quite skilled at dressing the wound.

Have you learned it?

I used to be a war surgeon.

Really?

Then did you saw a real war?

You will as well in the future.

In the future,

people all over China may see

the war with their own eyes.

Thank you.

Not a big deal.

It's going to rain.

Let's go back now.

Your wound needs to be treated, too.

Come here.

Stand up.

Let's go.

I'll carry you.

Come on.

Quickly.
