ago in the 5th century BC,

the Egyptian people eked a
hard and miserable existence

in their barren fields.

While in the capital city of Tanis,

their Pharaoh was
permitted to live in luxury

by the conquering Persians,

and surrounded by traitorous countrymen,

the Egyptian Pharaoh was powerless

to protect his people from the suffering

and devastation brought upon
them by the Persian invaders.

Nor could the Egyptians
gather the strength

to overthrow their enemy
and regain their liberty.

(soldiers shouting)

at the door, O Great Vizier.

(quiet suspenseful music)

If all I hear is true, your

Only tell us what crime
is it we've committed.

Egypt, the whole population.
