[triumphant music playing]

[tense choral music playing]

[dark music playing]

[thunder rumbles]

[music intensifies]

[Saragoza] For too long, Thesion IV has been bereft of the Emperor's light.

Like so much of our benighted Imperium,

it clings on, a candle flickering in darkness.

Our mission is of sacred importance.

The enshrinement of our fallen Canoness Rexilla.

She will be a beacon, a rising call to the faithful.

She will mark Thesion IV as a shrine world.

The Emperor's flock will come, and with them, new hope.

The foulness of the Orks shall be driven from this place.

We shall risk everything for this.

We will not fail.

For to do less would be to fall short of what our Emperor demands.

By fire and faith, we--

[explosion thunders]

[metal crumpling]

[growls menacingly]

[metal groaning and alarms blaring]

[engine stuttering]

[emergency alarm blaring]

[Saragoza] His test begins...

[sudden silence]

[pants and pained moans]

[metal creaks]

[coughing]

[metal creaks]

Blessed are thee...

-[metal creaking] -God Emperor!

Thank you for sparing me so that I might be redeemed

and return to thy grace and that of the Sisterhood.

[ears ringing]

[dirt crunching]

[heavy breathing]

[steps approaching]

[metallic whirring]

Ave Imperator.

[metallic clanking]

Show yourself!

[steps approaching]

[armour whirring]

Sister, I feared I alone had survived.

Had that been so, our cause would surely have been lost.

Then I am grateful to have been wrong.

-[fire crackling] -Hmph.

[Ludmilla] Keep it safe. It is worth more than your life.

More than any of our lives. It must be preserved.

At all costs. I know, Sister. I will see it done.

See that you do.

[heavy footsteps]

The others?

-[Venthia] Have you seen-- -Silence is a virtue, Novitiate.

[tragic choral music]

[choral music continues]

[heavy footsteps]

[Saragoza] God Emperor,

take your just servants to thy side and guard their souls eternal.

By the blessings of Saint Arabella and the Order of the Sacred Rose,

I commit you to the glory of the Golden Throne.

[mournful choral music]

Allow me to recite the prayer of passing.

Have we time? The Emperor in his grace has spared us.

Our task remains urgent.

[disgustedly] You dare!

[Ludmilla] Better you had died than a single wound had marred their holy flesh.

Forgive me, I meant only--

Your self-interest betrays you.

Temperance, Sister. The Novitiate is right.

We shall pay our respects, but swiftly. We cannot afford to linger here.

[heavy footsteps]

[dirt crunching]

[Venthia] I am sorry, Palatine Saragoza.

I only desire for us to achieve our mission.

And to redeem yourself for your transgression?

Of course, Palatine. It...

[firmly] This is my only chance to atone.

Then be sure you don't waste it.

[Cherub glitching]

[Saragoza] This is our path.

The high ground will give us the best vantage over the Orks.

Forgive me, Palatine, but would this route not be faster?

[Ludmilla] That's mud ash, Novitiate.

If it's deep, there may be no way to cross.

Either that, or we'll sink in our armour and be easy prey for the Orks.

[tense music]

[Cherub glitching]

[tense mysterious music]

[heavy footsteps]

[Saragoza] We take the ridge and then make for the canyon road.

The temple we seek is not far from there.

It is fortified and well protected.

We need only reach it.

[ominous music]

[Cherub glitching]

[growls and chomps]

[Ork Mekboy] Oy, what you got there?

No, put that down, put that down.

-[metal clanging] -Get all dem parts!

We need 'em. The ship ain't gonna build itself.

It'll be a big 'un too.

It'll take us back.

To follow da green.

So we can join the fight and follow the Waagh!

[Orks cheering]

[roars proudly]

[metal crunching]

[Ork Mekboy] But first,

the boss wants to deal with the 'humies...

[tense music playing]

[distant footsteps]

[ominous music]

[Venthia] What is that?

[Saragoza] Trouble.

[metallic whirring]

[gun thunks]

[shots crackling in the distance]

[rocket hissing]

[explosion and multiple shots follow]

[plasma gun crackles]

[Saragoza] Fall back!

[shots pattering]

[all grunting]

[explosions thundering]

[Ludmilla] The Emperor protects.

[gunshots continue]

[Saragoza] Venthia, stay low. Keep behind me.

Ludmilla!

[Heavy Bolter rumbling]

[Bolter shots pounding]

[Saragoza] Move!

[heavy shots continue]

[intense music playing]

[roars angrily]

[bloodthirsty roar]

[plasma shot crackles]

[heavy thud]

[heavy panting]

[angry roars approaching]

[plasma pistol crackles weakly]

[shots popping]

[Saragoza grunts]

[powersword crackling]

[metallic clanging]

[roars angrily]

-[grunts] -[powersword crackles]

-[sword crackling] -[Saragoza screams with effort]

[Ork gasps painfully]

[grunt of exertion stops suddenly]

[flesh squelching]

[grunts and shouts in pain]

[heavy gunshots]

[Saragoza groans]

[Saragoza] Venthia, keep watch.

[Saragoza pants painfully]

Why did you shield her?

Does the Emperor not teach us

that we must be shepherd and shield of our flock?

Even for one so disgraced?

If walking in faith were easy, Sister,

we would not be so blessed for our labours.

The Emperor will see us through this.

We must first help ourselves

by getting through these damnable ash wastes.

[Venthia] Contact!

[multiple roars in the distance]

Move!

[tense music playing]

[ominous music plays]

Blood of the Saint...

[ferocious roar]

[Saragoza] We have no choice, Sisters. We must attempt the crossing.

It's now or never.

Emperor preserve us.

[mud squelching]

[metallic whirring]

[dark music intensifies]

[exhausted grunts]

[straining]

Sisters!

-[Saragoza] How many? -[Ludmilla] Too many.

[Saragoza] We cannot let her perish, Ludmilla.

[Ludmilla] I'll get her, Palatine. Make for the edge.

[shots hammering in the distance]

[Heavy Bolter thundering]

[muffled gunshots]

[heavy gunshots]

[rock crumbling]

[frustrated roar in the distance]

The relic. Take the relic.

[tense music]

[huffs]

[Ludmilla sighs]

Shepherd and shield indeed.

[choral music]

Wha--?

[Ludmilla] Hold your tongue.

[gunshots whizzing]

[Ludmilla grunts]

[shots whizzing]

[Saragoza] Come on, my Sisters...

[Ork roars]

[desperate whisper] Saint Arabella, I beseech you,

grant me the strength and fortitude to see me through this trial.

Cast upon me your mantle.

Gird my flesh that it might help me carry this burden.

[tense choral music playing]

[distant roars]

[roars angrily]

[Venthia grunts]

Thank you, Sister. I--

[winds howls]

[rocks clanging on metal]

[Ludmilla] Merciful Emperor...

[storm rumbles]

[ending theme music]
