Tonight one of these pairs, both players,

I've got Christian who wants to work with me.

He seems to be somebody that I can trust.

This is almost like a gift being given to us.

Chrissy and coach at the same time?

Cirie, I don't trust Rick.

It makes more sense to go after Rick and aubry.

Joe wants devens out, big-time.

Unfortunately, I don't have an idol on me.

I've actually been really frustrated by that.

So I'm gonna go ahead...

and get to it right now.

Wait. What just happened?

He just got the idol.

You've created a live tribal for sure.

I guess I had good reason to be nervous, Jeff.

12th and 13th players voted out of the game

and the second and third members of our jury...

Chrissy and coach.

Chrissy... Coach, the tribe has spoken.

Crazy night, guys.

Devens had this huge ego boost of finding an idol

at tribal.

This was the moment devens has been waiting for.

Devens found an idol.

He wants that so bad, and he finally

has an idol with his chest held high.

- It just didn't look good. - I know. It didn't.

Because everybody was talking to you.

I came to you and told you what everybody was doing.

I know. I know.

He thinks that was a great mov,

but I believe it could backfire on him,

'cause now you're a target 'cause you have an idol.

He didn't even try to hide it.

I'm so confused. You found an advantage somewhere?

No, I found an idol.

And the reason I didn't play it tonight is

'cause it's meant to be snuck out.

- So you couldn't... - So it doesn't become live

until you can get it back to camp.

I really came into

season 50 trying to control my more chaotic tendencies.

But I missed causing chaos at tribal.

And tonight I got back to my chaotic self.

That's the most fun tribal I've had all season.

I was looking so forward to playing that idol.

That fake idol.

- So then I was like, "what is going on?" - Right.

- Is that...? So then you're like... - Nobody knew about that.

So it's like... so I was like...

It was awkward being approached and, like, scolded

by the people who I'm pretty sure were trying

to get me out of the game.

But either way, the plan worke.

I think there were votes coming my way.

Those votes kind of disappeared after that fake idol picked up.

I planted it there a long time ago.

What?

- So that... - What?

My god, Rick does not have an idol.

So people are convinced that he has an idol

despite the fact that he, in fact, does not.

Yeah.

- He's all happy. - I want to be happy

for him that he is still here.

But on the other hand, I am

angry at Rick because he put

our entire alliance in jeopardy with his antics because now

he's target number one.

I just think they wanted coach out...

100%.

Yeah.

I am pissed off.

Coach and Chrissy were blindsided.

And they are two people from my alliance that went home tonight.

I still have Joe, I still have Jonathan.

And people are gonna be willing to ebb and flow.

I am so mad right now,

but I'm gonna play the miss nice girl

and I'm gonna baby-face them to death

and then I'm gonna slit all their throats.

Can we just talk about how dumb a move devens'

- power play was last night? - Yeah, it was stupid.

It was stupid. He did too much.

- But it was amazing. - For us.

Nobody's worried about my and your idol.

Last night, the live tribal actually turned out to be

a big old blessing in disguise.

Takes all of the heat off of me and rizo

and our idols.

Plus, as far as

this old-school alliance goes, like, it is done.

It has been burned out from the inside.

And right now, you've got Stephenie, Jonathan

and Joe just wandering because they have

nowhere to go.

I feel like

last night went as well as you could possibly expect.

And I think that devens pulling his shenanigans was amazing.

Now he has an idol,

and we're gonna have to put votes on him.

Even if we were trying, you can't work with that.

- Right, right. - It's too sloppy.

And at least be chill.

'Cause nobody knows what you do.

- That's what I thought. - Show me how he did it.

I thought he was having a relapse.

I thought he was having a fit.

Devens' actions at tribl just was perfect.

I loved every second of it.

He just made a bull's-eye on his back.

And anybody that has a bigger target than me is beneficial

to me in this game.

If devens has his idol, we need a backup person

just in case he plays that idol.

Right now, my closest allies are ozzy and rizo.

Then I'm also working with the original cila four,

which is Christian, devens, Emily and myself.

I also have a understanding... with Joe, Stephenie

and Jonathan.

And then, aubry and Tiffany

are somewhere in the middle.

So right now, I think I'm in a good spot

working with pretty much everybody.

I don't know. That's the tough part.

Insurvivor, I think it's good to have options.

That's the benefit of being in with a lot of people.

We're in between a rock and hard place.

And ozzy...

I still think that we can use him, dude. Work with him.

I'm not saying we make him our number one.

I'm saying we don't have a lot of choices.

Okay.

It is a huge blow

to lose two people that are in my alliance.

You start to question, what can you possibly do?

Are you next?

And you don't know what players

you can even work with anymore.

Because I was the only one that voted devens and aubry.

And as long as we vote the same, stick together, -yeah.

Jonathan, that's all we can do.

We just hope that good people can weather this.

- I don't know what else to do. - I don't either.

I'm in trouble, and I got to work a different route.

After tribal, we all are lookig

for a lifeline to stay alive.

It's because we played on the same season.

I would.

I know that devens and I are perceived as a pair,

but he really did blow up

that tribal council with the show,

and it's making people really uncomfortable.

And I'm someone

who is not afraid to make big moves and jump ship

if the people I'm working with aren't working for me.

I am not someone who likes to play with, like,

"there's a block of four nerds at the end."

You know what I mean? I like to play with people

- that are different than me. - Yeah.

I don't know that Jonathan ever really wanted

to play with me, but I think he needs people right now.

It's time for me to step in there

and get him on my side.

- There are scary people in this game. - Yes.

where we're sitting and, like, letting things happen?

I see opportunities after last night.

If the theory was where you were going to, and you didn't,

that's not how I work. I would have just

I heard from several sources

that you and Jonathan and that group...

you guys were gonna vote for me, so...

Which I would tell you if that's what we were gonna do.

Joe pulled me aside

and let me know he was never voting for me.

He was absolutely locked in on the plan the whole time.

His vote was never going my wa.

When, in the back of my head, I'm going,

"this is the biggest load of crap

I've ever heard in my life."

So after I got the idol, and the live tribal kicked off,

it was like, "they've got to come up with another plan."

You guys got your hand caught in the cookie jar.

You know, you guys were voting for me, and it didn't work out.

If I wanted to write down your name, for whatever reason,

that's exactly what I would have done.

There is no cookie jar.

Man, I didn't put down your name.

You have an idol, which you don't tell anybody about,

and you were aggressive at tribal.

And I don't bring up any of that.

I just go, "hey, man, I didn't write down your name,"

and acted like everything was all right.

- Hug it out? - Yeah, dude.

He tried to get into it with m, but I didn't let him.

And I feel like I'm really proud of that, because

even though I'm completely upset and I'm bitter,

being able to hide that...

if that's not growth, I don't know what is.

So I assume Rick talked with you last night?

Yeah, and the fact that anybody is buying it is...

Is kind of hilarious?

Is actually stupid.

- It's... - But people are.

Yeah, so the thing is, that can be useful.

- Yes. - Because right now,

So, the thing is, when people are huge, huge targets,

- the targets finds a way to migrate. - Yup.

And so, we got to make sure it migrates the right way.

Rick is very much

on everyone's radar now, and I want him around.

So my plan moving forward

is to somehow do damage contro.

Specifically with Jonathan and Stephenie.

They trusted me going into this vote,

and I had to lie to them.

I can't have them thinking I'm in open war with them,

because then they will absolutely

be marshalling a plan against me and Rick.

Since you guys are here, I just figured I'd say hello.

- We are a little nervous. - We feel we're next.

I have not heard your name from any of these people,

even the ones that are telling me.

I'm just telling you. And the same thing for you.

After Christian blindsided me at tribal, now I know

he is so untrustworthy,

and he will lie straight to your face

if he feels that the numbers are going in a different direction.

Christian, I just... I got to be real with you.

If you do, in the future, want to work

with me, or if I want to work with you,

how are we gonna get to that point

when we can trust each other?

If this comes to a situation where you need me

to give you your shot in the dark

or something to help...

To help appease that, if that's something

that can help you get over that hump,

I'm willing to do that. I've done it before.

I've been in the position befoe

where people were asking for my shot in the dark.

And I've given it to them before,

in hopes that they will keep me around.

And it worked with ozzy.

So, I figured I would give it a shot.

Everybody in the middle, I feel,

is gaining momentum. I don't like it.

But we have a way

where we can get out Christian pretty good, pretty easy.

Really?

He said, "listen, to gain your trust,

I'll give you my shot in the dark."

Because he back stabbed me last night.

We can totally get him out

and try to flush the... Devens idol at the same time.

You have this blaring target on devens, but

if Christian gives me his shot in the dark,

like he said he would,

then I would consider voting for Christian, 100%.

maybe someone with an idol...

when we were supposed to be a tight alliance.

So, me taking his shot in the dark is just like

a little present for me, knowing that I helped get

this guy out who blindsided me.

a bag of rice,

and I tell you that I'm gonna need maybe five players

to voluntarily sit out of this challenge,

in exchange for enough rice to last the rest of the season.

It's hard for me to even picture a scenario

where I don't play my idol.

We know that devens is probably gonna play his ido,

so we can't throw all our votes

on somebody that has an idol.

We got to throw some on somebody else.

My goal is to convince people

that it's got to be Christian

because of him lying to me like that at tribal,

throwing my name out, and ozzy's name.

But it's hard to convince ten other people

that that's the right choice.

Christian said,

"I'll give you my shot in the dark," so,

I could get his shot in the dark, rizo, and we can...

I'm excited to go on this journey, going around

in the pacific ocean, in a boat for one.

Wind in my hair, and I have

the potential to win an advantage.

I arrive at this barge, and I've seen this before.

On season 47, Rachel,

who went on to win that season, was on a similar barge.

She had to finish a puzzle in a certain amount of time.

I'm like, "great. I like puzzles."

Okay.

"Hey, it's Jimmy Fallon!"

Whoo!

My god. Note is from one Jimmy Fallon

of the tonight show.

"I'm a massive survivor fan,

"so when I heard survivor 50was in the hands of the fans,

I knew I had to be part of it."

This seems insane. Jimmy Fallon

may decide my fate in this game.

"First off, I'm glad I could inspire Probst

"to participate in the challenge.

"And he caught me up a on what went down at the challenge.

"You won rice. Congrats!

"And now you're here alone.

"The good news is,

if you finish this puzzle in time..."

"You'll earn

"a new advantage for survivor 50 that I'm really excited about.

"It's called the Jimmy Fallon one in the urn.

"Here's how it works.

"Before you leave here,

"you'll write the name of another player

"on this voting parchment.

"So, unbeknownst to them, they'll start tribal

with one vote already in the urn."

So, Jimmy Fallon's idea is pretty interesting,

where you get to put a vote in the urn

before tribal council that no one even knows about.

If you know in this exact momet

who you're gonna be voting for tonight,

that could be a big advantage.

"If you fail to finish the puzzle,

"you will take this envelope back to the camp

"to read in front of your tribe mates.

"And as you can imagine, it won't be great news.

"So you're going to have an impact on tonight's vote.

"The only question is, will it help your game or hurt it?

"And that's on you. Good luck.

I'm pulling for you. Jimmy."

Boy. So, at this point, I'm like,

"okay, Jimmy, you're putting the pressure on me."

Here's a puzzle, and if I don't do it,

you got this letter. You got to come back to camp

and read it in front of everyone.

So, I worry I'll lose my vote.

Or-or worse.

I toss the anchor overboard,

and then it starts unspooling this rope.

And I need to complete a Jigsaw puzzle before

the last anchor drops in the water, because

once the rope has no more slac, that puzzle is...

off into the water,

and my opportunity to win the advantage is gone,

and whatever terrible consequences remain are on me.

Fans.

Every minute, I hear a weight slamming the water...

like a timer.

Tick, tick, tick.

And it just mounts the pressure further, and then

builds the panic.

Put it in. Okay. Okay.

Every time a weight goes by, I realize

how many pieces are still not in place.

Another weight drops in the water.

And I can see the last one getting closer.

I'm like, "my god, I'm a couple pieces away."

Come on.

Puzzle's gone.

I don't think people realize how often...

people who you think...

Are smart people feel stupid.

We try to keep it to ourselves.

I blew it.

And it's easy to feel like an idiot.

I mean, I let myself down,

"and it's so easy just to kick myself. Like,"

"why are you so stupid?"

But if this ever happens to my son... and it will...

So, I got to go back to camp,

by being the first player to cast a vote against themselves."

- This is insane. - Wow.

Christian, that has got to sting, my brother.

The double-doctorate roboticist couldn't do a puzzle.

And now you get to vote yourself out, christia?

Well, I got to say, that is music to my ears.

Did I just talk to you about how much I love you all?

- My god. - That you're all my favorite people.

My mind is blown.

Christian must now,

for the first time in survivor history,

vote his own self out?

Perfect. Christian was already on the hook.

Now's the time to take the shot.

- It might be. - Okay. That could be really bad.

Yes.

So we're both in a very precarious spot.

But I think we have the right people doing the work here.

I think so. And obviously,

we stick together, we just stick it out.

Jimmy Fallon has put my game in jeopardy.

And on top of that, who's the other target?

Rick, my closest ally.

How did we end up in this position?

Before, I'm trying to see

if I can get votes against ozzy. Now,

I just want to survive. You know, like,

I'm too tempting of a target right now.

My big fear is that the other side's gonna

start trying to get rally votes against you

because there's already one there.

And if they try to do that, I won't know,

- because they obviously won't tell me. - Right.

- Unless they're stupid. - Here's a minor wrinkle.

I need to find a new alternative.

in the game, I've had to be very flexible.

When I hear that Emily's coming for me, it stings more

than with Christian gunning for me.

I thought that Emily and I were tight, but

She's flip-flopping all over the place.

Like, no one's safe when she's around.

The plan is Emily, because she just lost

her damn mind and came down here

and tried to stir up the whole beach

to get ozzy out tonight.

the girl's doing too much and we're tired of it.

Why can't we just make a decision and be done with it?

So, for me, it's just moving me one

step closer to those final three chairs.

today, really valuable for me as a host.

The drive it takes to do what you do

when you show up to play survivor is something

I have no idea about. You were so locked in,

and I knew I was in trouble. I mean,

I had no chance against you. So I just want to say

how much I appreciated doing that today.

It was super fun.

So, Emily, what's it like to finally get some rice?

My gosh. It's like my personality is back.

And it was wild. People had energy again.

And I feel like people are ready to play survivor.

- And so, rice is a game-changer. - Christian,

what do you notice when you dig in

with a spoonful of rice

when you've had very little over 18 days?

I'm seeing all these happy people enjoying their rice.

And for me, it's just fueling my rage.

- Fueling your rage? - Yeah.

I got to go on a journey today.

Got to go on a floating platform

in the sea on the Fijian oceans.

Glorious. Great.

And I get to do a puzzle.

How wonderful, how great.

But I fail.

So, I get a note of shame

that I must read in front of everyone.

Cirie, if that's true,

then that means there is one in the urn

for Christian no matter what.

So what impact does that have?

It impacts everyone sitting here, because

you could take the easy route and say,

"we only need a certain amount of votes.

Christian already did us a favor and gave us one on him."

Or we could play survivor.

I will say, my sympathy is limited, though,

because nobody was holding a gun to Christian's head saying,

"hey, you should volunteer to go do this."

I, on the other hand, sat out purposely

because of that unexpectedness that comes with season 50.

So, you know, there's upsides, and there's drawbacks,

and we're still learning the upsides,

and I think, clearly, tonight,

we're still learning the drawbacks.

Ozzy, what's your take on this?

Because that's big news for one player to say,

"I got to vote for myself tonight."

A hundred percent, Jeff.

Yeah, he took a big risk, and he failed the journey.

So if you do that,

you've already painted a big target on your back.

But maybe,

as some of my other alliance members have said,

sometimes the low-hanging fruit

isn't really what you go for when you're playing survivor.

Especially when you think that you know what's going on.

Because I thought I knew what was going on last tribal,

and all of a sudden, devens is pulling a devens move.

Devens, that got a couple of chuckles from you.

Yeah, he's right about that.

I mean, as the group gets smaller and smaller,

you know, there's less easy votes

that everyone can agree on.

So, it's constantly changing.

I mean, I'm playing the idol tonight

'cause I don't go home with idols,

and I've been told very clearly

that I'm a big target tonight.

And my philosophy is kind of, every day's a reset on survivor.

If you can get through one vote, it might be blue skies tomorrow.

Cirie, what's the biggest lesson

you learn when you play this game over and over?

People are unpredictable.

And the moment you think that you can predict

what your closest ally or your

biggest adversary is going to do,

that's the moment you're gonna be out of this game,

probably blindsided.

That's sobering, Emily.

It certainly is, but it's part of the game.

You need to have alliances, but at the same time,

one person ultimately wins the game.

And it's just always a question of

how long does it take for the alliances that you built

and the relationships that you built to turn on each other.

And ideally, you're making that decision

before the other person is.

But I think a lot of times, when people are blindsided,

it's because that decision was made for them

by the other party.

So, tiff, is there a safe space anywhere?

There's nowhere to hide on season 50, Jeff.

There is nothing safe about the people we're playing with.

We're all navigating this day by day,

and the best way to figure things out

is to worry about the day in front of you.

You can't worry about tomorrow until you get there,

'cause not everybody's gonna make it.

And I think there's always multiple plans floating around.

There's always multiple agendas,

and we're not gonna find out what the real agenda truly is,

or at least the one that Rose to the top,

until you read the votes.
