The driver I hired changed his mind To see so much money on the plane.

That's what you believe, not me.

Maybe Gil Walker decided go alone with the money.

And you will meet him, won't you?

You impose your rules for a long time and I have never disobeyed them.

- If you and Walker have plans, I... - Careful, it's an emergency.

I repeat, this is an emergency. Erase the track immediately.

How can I wait until dark?

No one can help Gil Walker.

Remove, please.

You will be surrounded by police.

John

In ten years of service I hadn't seen anything like it.

Me niether. A plane crashes and no corpses.

No sign that there was someone on board

With autopilot You can fly.

But do not land.

What did the officers say from the airport, Tirera?

They haven't received any calls, lieutenant. No one came to inquire either.

Apparently there is no one interested in this aircraft in Tangier.

- Anyone may be interested. - He can.

Put a guard. And save this whole area with your men.

Lieutenant, am I a sergeant?

I know him well, Tirera. He will know how to do it.

Gil Walker.

You don't seem very surprised.

Did you know he wasn't piloting?

I know now.

Did you find anything?

Who are you?

You are Gil Walker, Hank Brady's best friend.

We both know he wasn't the pilot.

- I'm Susan Lane. - What are you doing here?

Wait for the night like you.

- Not on the plane, but in Tangier. - The questions I'm going to ask.

Come down.

I am Lieutenant Luzon, of the international police.

It's the first time we've seen each other, Walker, but you are in our files.

It doesn't surprise me like you mixed with that.

But I don't know what you're doing here.

Your passport

MissLane, if I heard correctly...

I don't know what you're trying to prove, but we didn't break any laws.

I'll tell you technically.

Pass an area protected by the police.

If you don't mind, let's go to the car.

Who was flying the plane?

Who else knows there was another driver?

Who knows?

You're in front, Walker.

Police station?

Colonel Wier will be interested talking to you

The police intervened.

In these circumstances you no longer have any relationship with me.

The police don't paint anything about it. You offered me an excellent deal.

I won't let curiosity from the police, I'm going to spoil him.

Trust me Goro. Now I can't break the pact with him.

You need a company like this to catch up with her.

- It'll make money. - I'll get rid of the police.

We'll see if he succeeds.

In front of the police,

Don't you think you should be worried for the pilot of this plane?

Who and where is he now?

Good report, Bill.

Check all data from Walker.

Do you know anything new about the girl?

Only this.

It doesn't matter, does it?

No sir.

Colonel Wiler.

The night is going to be very long.

A little heavy for everyone.

Sorry, I will finish as soon as possible.

sit down

Hank Brady wrote to him often. Are you going to marry her?

Quiet Please.

Cases in order of importance

They are Gil Walker, with temporary residence in Tangier

and Miss Susan Lane, reside in San Francisco, USA.

Walker knows Tangier, Not you, Miss Lane.

In a free city, everyone try to take control.

That's why the police are so careful with planes coming in...without warning.

I'll show you why the police must be careful.

Here is a chain smoker.

Three tons of cigarettes a month.

They are respectable sellers.

To the black market, go.

Radios, refrigerators, low ... automobiles.

He's a pirate He steals them if he can.

And these are... the gentlemen it will set them free.

Citing Laws of an international city.

Next month A Frenchman will take my place.

After him a Belgian, then an Englishman And so on.

We are turning.

International Zone Rules they will bind them, just like me.

If you plan to take advantage of this situation for your benefit...

I tell you from now it will not work.

We have the power to punish murder on the spot.

Sta Lane, as a police officer, thinks Walker He can be mixed up in murder.

And unless you can show that it is not related,

They will also consider her guilty.

Want to spend?

If there's a murder charge, Colonel It is better to call the American consulate.

They will answer first to a few questions.

Sit down, please.

We don't know where it comes from this plane.

what was inside, nor who the passengers were.

I want to know why you They were recording it.

To take a look at Does this make us guilty?

If these were orders of Danzer and Goro, it can be.

I don't take orders from them.

Who are Danzer and Goro?

Ignore that they are that kind of people who starts a war if there is a good price?

We know Walker He worked for Danzer.

We don't know anything about you yet.

Maybe today someone He was killed on that plane.

He knows I don't work for Danzer. Flight for anyone.

What does a legal driver do? I wouldn't accept

Be careful, Colonel.

What's up with Nicki Dane?

The one that comes with Danzer.

Couldn't get more jobs through her?

Sit down, Lieutenant.

Let him shoot.

You have been here for three days.

Why did you come to Tangier?

He is a journalist and works in a San Francisco Journal.

For sure.

Suddenly he gives up everything and comes to Tangier.

Why are you so interested in the plane that crashed?

What was inside and who were the passengers?

I do not know.

Do not know?

Lieutenant Luzon heard him say Walker that Brady was the pilot.

How do you know Brady?

Hank and I are engaged.

Finally, he is telling the truth. She is engaged to Brady.

He sent me a telegram asking me to come. Check it in the telegraphs.

- What was your answer? - I am here.

Since Brady is here, his best friend is Walker.

They lived together, they had fun. The Dirty Jobs Walker Didn't Do

Hank Brady did.

- I think Brady did that. - He can't prove it.

He jumped out of the plane when he realized that he was wearing something big, what was it?

And why Brady piloted this plane instead of you?

I don't know what compelled him to fly it.

He doesn't think of helping me with anything, does he?

Besides being in this position, I represent the United States

and there he can't go back.

I don't have to put up with it only for anyone.

He can't come back if I don't want to.

That's what your Brady he converted his friend.

We know someone like Walker He was a World War II hero.

This war ended eight years ago, and he is still there.

This man was decorated with the Medal of Honor after his death.

He's bitter because he doesn't You can check it.

maybe i can before what he assumes, Walker.

It's related to Brady.

If he was driving in this plane

and Danzer and Goro are involved, as we suspect,

a dead hero can rise again and become a traitor.

Tell me when you know that Hank flew this plane.

You have a difficult case, Colonel.

If he's alive, I'll find him and, of course, without your help.

Brady cannot return to the United States, The same thing happens to Walker.

- Sir? Mr Kalferez. - It's good, it's good.

- Before. - Miss.

Already, already, paragraph 3, section 2, article 4. Law of an international city.

Freeport

Let them go. Get them out of here.

Good.

It has been a pleasure. gentlemen

Who are you? Who paid for it?

It is my duty to ensure that a gentleman and a beautiful young woman

not to be punished for throwing a look at a plane crashed.

Who paid for it?

Are you going to stay there or get into the car?

Will the two be comfortable together?

I hope it is what i expected

If Miss Lane meets with someone, let me know.

If I find out sooner, I'll keep you informed.

Yes sir.

- You are wrong on the way. - My house goes through here.

There will be the first place Danzer will go and Gore if they find out you took me out.

If they find out.

Danzer ordered you to take me out?

Who is this?

I didn't know if my speech I was bored.

- She's Hank Brady's girlfriend. - Hank could be dead.

Why aren't you more worried if it's Hank's girlfriend?

If you cannot come to Marroken Hotel, I can take a taxi from there.

- Is it American? Were you impressed? - If you follow Danzer's orders, continue.

Otherwise, turn into the first street.

Let's get out of here.

Calm

These natives buy with my money. When they remove the car, continue.

What do we do with that?

What I need to know. At Goro's.

You took me for Danzer, didn't you?

Answer, Nicki.

You were going to give it to me or make it escape?

I didn't know that a donkey I was going to stop the traffic.

Get them out of there, Hanrah.

I found them, sir.

Danzer paid natives and they blocked the street.

I'm at 8 with 0.

They go to 8 with 20.

I will follow them.

Well, here I go.

In the other direction.

Pass, pass.

Dullah, turn on the light, please.

You got it for me, right?

And what is the difference? It's free.

Please sit down.

I guess we agree in which both parties must explain.

Give the police time?

Did they follow him?

Not that I know.

For years, the police in many countries waited for him to be wrong.

But I will never make that mistake.

I confess that I am worried about the police.

I will find out what I want Know quickly.

$20,000. I didn't want the money?

The work was very easy. A man I was flying from Prague on a commercial line.

The only thing I had to do was to pick him up on time

- and bring him on his plane. - And, coincidentally, pushing him out of it.

We are all involved.

Goro has materials that interest me and which are not on the market.

But I need the money to pay it or will sell them to others.

It's like that.

They assured me that $3 million they came from Prague,

from the hand of a poor man called Kovac who is supposed to leak.

I knew this man had a family I've been in the business for 200 years.

He had to sell everything and flee to Tangier before the iron curtain finishes him off.

Escape?

I was escorted constantly, even though I didn't know it.

It was a credit card from 3 million to pay Goro.

And I decided that your money I would be better off in a bank in Tangier.

- You decided? - Yes that's it.

And that's why he allowed his friend Hank does the job?

Now he has the values, we have you...

and this lady of which no one knows much.

I already asked. Who is this?

Well, can you answer?

Very simple.

Hank telegraphed me for me meet him at the airport.

He could fly a plane at any moment.

Why didn't he say this to the police?

It's clear he didn't trust in the font.

He doesn't trust us either.

Do you think this will allow Hank get away with the money?

won't come on this plane to mislead us?

She knows where she's going meeting with him.

It gets longer.

The lady will tell us. But in Dullah's house, light, please.

The 8 with the 23, sir.

I found the car.

I'll take a look.

Alright, Bill, I'll get to that right away. Pay attention.

You out. I'm going to look at the top door and the stairs.

We have a no-shoot order.

Yes sir.

- Lieutenant, be careful. - You too.

Well let's go, there is no other choice.

Dullah will continue.

The police!

What did you do stupid?

From behind

Lieutenant!

By the Wall!

He is dead, sir.

It was Walker. He escaped through that door.

Come!

- You and Goro come here. - And the police?

We don't worry about the police.

Not if they can explain Lieutenant's death.

And you?

Have you seen these men when Walker killed the lieutenant?

No sir.

Where is Walker? And the two women?

I know you want the truth, Colonel. And the truth is, we don't know.

As you can see We take a quiet walk.

There is no law that prohibits it, Alright, Colonel?

Okay, Walker shouldn't be far. In progress.

There is no trace of him, sir!

It will be hidden in some cave here.

Bad luck.

We cannot register them all. We lost them.

He won't be able to hide for long.

We watched the airport

and the only way out, the road to Morocco.

Sooner or later he will try Get out of here.

Come!

- Where are we going? - Do not stop!

Whose is it, Gil? Where are we?

A house where there is a car.

It will be good for me, I have to go as soon as possible.

I know where we are. In Hank Brady's house.

- Walker, 34 years old... - Listen!

... black hair, 1.80, 75 kilos.

please all who can identify Walker

inform the international police. It is urgent.

They offer a reward to the natives.

They are the best dogs when there is money in between.

It won't stop us finds Hank.

- I'm not looking for Hank. - Why not?

Even though he was alive, I do not know where it is.

- I can tell you. - I do not want to know.

Maybe I can help you find it. Tell me where it is.

To tell Danzer?

Why didn't you tell the police?

All of Hank's letters have been about you and, are you asking me to give it to the police?

Accepted a job that even I wouldn't have done.

It doesn't know.

The only thing I know is that the police are looking for me.

And what will happen to Hank?

I guess you don't mind Take some clothes

And Nicky? Is he also going with you?

No, Nicki no.

If you want to run away, you run away alone.

While you're packing your suitcase with your clothes, Could you tell me about him?

I'd rather he talk to me about you.

What do you want to know?

Hank's love he comes to meet her at the airport,

at the same time who walks in with $3 million.

He is very sure of what he says...

Lose contact, and now, do we have to find it

because it's Hank Brady or for the 3 million?

You said before you went, Well, come, go.

will you ever have to give up this life.

other people have finished in prison...

- Hank said a lot of things in his letters. - Especially you.

What else do you know about me?

Right now, Nicki is waiting for him.

It can make you change your mind to find your best friend.

I will not change my mind.

This time I'm leaving.

I'm tired of staying because Danzer does

or leave because Danzer leaves.

Do you really want me to leave without you?

Come on, yes. It's not true. You know.

- This time, are you coming with me or... - You'll hate me if I don't.

Dance again, What does this mean to you?

This time you will answer.

I told you many times.

That you only work for him and what you pay to be his partner.

Don't you think that's just why?

When I'm with you, yes.

When I'm not...

He gives a car to his partner, a house, clothes...

I know people he doesn't know and I present them to you.

And that makes you your partner?

You are so serious and so pure... You are a wretch and a wretch.

If I abandon my business with Danzer, What are you offering?

A lonely life in an alley?

You are a cheap whore. You always have been and always will be.

What will change is that it does not work I'll have to see how you do it.

No! You know how much I love you! For sure!

- Then stay with me. - He promised me that...

Danzer?

If you do this business, you will earn a lot of money He won't need me anymore.

Tell him we'll help him find Hank and she will tell you where she is.

- Then you can tell Danzer. - Gil...

Gil, you can't run away. You cannot run away from ours.

Bye, Nicki.

Was right.

Nicki hasn't changed her mind. He won't be looking for Hank.

He can't help anyone.

He doesn't know what that word means.

Hank wrote to me that if I didn't find him at the airport,

I had to meet him in an abandoned airport.

Six kilometers south of Tashilat.

You can do it easily, Gil.

It is a small city less than 100 km from here.

I'm sorry, but I need your help to succeed.

He still has time to communicate with Danzer where is Hank.

It's in the desert.

It will be cold there. Take this.

You also.

- I won't need it. - Yes, I am fine.

There is the car

Don't try tricks. Or the police will arrest us

and you can't say Danzer nothing more than what you already know.

What kind of woman are you?

For now, from your class.

I don't know what you are looking for, but...

Don't forget it's mine.

Oh yes?

- Not yet. - They will come.

As the Americans say, relax.

Isn't one of your rules never talk about nationalities?

I am sorry.

I was hoping that Nicki had happened to me some kind of information

Who can trust a woman? Wait a bit, be patient.

I must have patience, but why you

You can sell your equipment to anyone with money.

Do you want to know why I continue?

'Cause he don't want anybody to know where is the material

Maybe he's right

Believe the American Woman He knows that, doesn't he?

Look at the blockade.

- What is going on? - The police blocked the street.

I don't know why, sir.

End of the trip for me.

Wait here.

- Colonel Wier blocked the street. - Then you can't move forward.

Do you know how to drive?

Yes

Well, you drive.

Will they let it pass?

They'll think you're running away from me and who I am.

And will they do it?

On the periphery there is a curve, stop the car when you pass it. How are you?

I will try.

Why didn't you leave me To take the car?

'Cause if Danzer was near, You would warn him, wouldn't you?

Do you think with Danzer or without Danzer Would you allow the police to take you away?

I have the opportunity to find out.

Miss... Lane.

She doesn't go alone because she likes to drive. Maybe Walker is trying to trick us.

- Hanrah, go right. - Yes sir.

Monaz, Onez, come on.

- Loal, cover the left side. - Yes sir.

5000 francs or call the police.

You wouldn't want to avoid this control Unless I wanted to run away from the police.

Give me 5000 francs or I fulfill my duty as a citizen.

- 5,000 francs... - It's better

You can go in peace. I also fled from the police.

- you. - Yes I do

have you seen a man and a foreign woman here?

10,000 franc reward by the man.

- 10,000 francs? Arrive on time - Have you seen them?

They are both there at the bottom table.

If you are right, will charge 10,000 francs.

Quiet, no one gets up! Please, nobody move!

- American, miss? - Yes I do

Wait a moment, please.

Let it

I leave it, sir?

Let him go.

Yes, sir, but I thought...

Walker sent her here as bait He will meet her on the outskirts.

Drop it

Yes sir.

Well, it can happen.

It's the American Let's follow it

Remember there is the police. They will have let him go for a reason.

We will wait. There is no rush.

- Now what are we waiting for? - To the police, of course.

No one escaped by On this side, sir.

- What happened on this side? - No one's gone there, sir.

It's still in the city.

- What happens at the airport? - Nothing, sir. There are no news

Good.

We are going to start the hunt. Save the whole city.

- Say stop the American. - Yes sir.

- Two men here. - Yes sir.

Hanrah, Loal!

Come on... don't follow.

- Come! - Why so much haste?

There are 70 kilometers and there is only one highway We will give with them.

Follow the American's car. And don't turn on the lights just yet.

I didn't think I would succeed.

Are they following us?

No

Accelerate until I see them.

In the sand, he sleeps well.

If you prefer, sleep in the car.

Didn't say it would be cold in the desert?

How can you think of sleeping even now?

Soon dawn. We cannot travel.

Sleeping is one way to spend the day.

Why branches?

Colonel Wier has a aerial patrol.

You're going to send a plane in when he gets up

I don't like to sleep in the sand.

Also, the ones that worried you the most they disappeared.

Why don't we continue? It's certain.

And see the police or Danzer and Goro come by road to pick us up?

With this vineyard There must be water here.

I'm hot and I'm tired.

There is probably water between these trees.

Why don't you go with him?

Even though he did, I'll take the car key.

I will accompany him.

Do you consider her beautiful in America?

I do not know. And the Europeans to you?

Men

We are at peace.

I'm sure he came here for Gil.

Cold

He fell in love with him through the letters I received from Hank Brady.

Colder.

Otherwise why was he going come here?

It's your game, keep guessing.

- There are other games you can play. - What is going on?

You came for water. You said you were going to accompany him.

Some water? She just wanted to be alone with you.

Would you like if you knew who is in love with you

- Quite. - Ask him. Do you know how it happened?

- By Hank's letters. - Get back in the car.

- Ask him. - Come with us or sleep in the car.

I turn.

And the water?

What Nicki said about... the cards?

In the beginning you were someone who Hank wrote about.

I know. A fool who knew he couldn't return to your country after the war.

America's plane?

He goes to Lisbon and America.

What would you give to continue?

I wouldn't give anything.

What's the use of wanting something What can't you have?

I crossed the bay and I went to his hometown to see him.

To see what?

Ceremony.

Hank told me the details and he asked me to write the story.

I saw his mother. I blinked so as not to cry when the governor mentioned you.

And her sisters were trying Don't show your pride.

I know I know. You don't have to tell me.

He shouldn't have been a bad boy When I was small.

The governor referred you as ... hero.

He told how he jumped in a parachute and robbed the German ammunition depot.

I did not do it

I fell to the ground and ran to the depot.

A guard came out from I don't know where and it hurt my leg.

A French soldier older than me, He bent over me, took the explosives

and he did my job.

He flew with the deposit, how could this have happened to me.

They took me prisoner.

They got me locked up in a farm hanging on the wall like a pig.

When they released me, the war was over.

And that's why he doesn't want to go back.

He's ashamed because he's not really a hero.

If I come back and tell the truth...

I know there will be no plaques or family pride.

And if I don't tell them the truth, One day they will find out.

And he decided to stay. How many years? 10, 20...?

May be.

What does it matter to you Should I go back or not?

You said it was hot and that I was tired.

I have heat all over my body.

It's much better cool only a part.

I'm sure and I know It will be colder that way.

Why don't you bathe?

Maybe another time.

We will be in the car.

Do you want to sleep in the car?

It will be hot

Over there.

Thanks

I have to find Hank because I have to tell him, if he's alive...

who will have problems.

- And partly because of me. - And mine.

I better sleep.

The police.

He is looking for us.

Pilot says he followed all the way.

Until the vineyards of Merana. He didn't see them.

Tell him cover the whole road from here to Tangier.

- Yes sir. Proceed as ordered! - Good.

If you have seen us, Colonel Wier It will be on its way.

We can't stay to find out.

Dullah!

Have you seen any recent marks tires?

OK, come on, get on.

Come on, come on.

- I didn't do it on purpose, I swear. - Shut your mouth.

The car no longer serves us. Come

There's your car!

I do not see her.

Please let's go while we can. I don't trust this woman.

- Let's go now. - Play the horn again?

Come on, you don't know what I did it on purpose.

There is a door behind.

Let's go quickly!

Walker has Dullah's gun, do not forget it

I don't need to ask him to leave, Walker. But I will give you this opportunity.

If we go into the shoot, women They can be hurt.

I only give him 30 seconds walk out with your hands up.

Well, Walker, time is up!

To go out?

Over there is the car.

Dullah, where are you?

Eric?

Eric?

- Have you seen them? - No, sir, there is no one.

In front.

- Let's go. - Too late.

- We can take them. - It's difficult.

We'll take half an hour at least taking my car on the sand.

In the meantime, I'll try to wait be as pleasant as possible.

When we hear the horn, we leave.

Colonel Wier will be in contact surely with the authorities.

Do you say that the abandoned airport is six kilometers to the south?

That's what Hank said.

If we turn here and we go diagonally to the south,

we will arrive at the airport without crossing the city.

- And we'll arrive earlier. - Look at the road.

If something happens to the car, what will we do?

Looked! They must have seen our lights.

It may not be Danzer.

Not worth it let them catch all three of us.

- Go around here. - I don't want to leave without you.

Don't lose sight of her.

How far can they go?

The floor is stone. There are no leads. They can't go very far.

Spread out and stay tuned.

- Do you mind leaving him alone? - Gil is right.

One of us must arrive.

I'm not going to.

Where are your friends?

Do you still think they're my friends?

Don't try to deceive me.

We have known each other since a lot of time.

- I already know it. - The two are not your friends.

- You want to know where he is, right? - no

It would be very easy to find them. But they wouldn't talk.

What I want is to know where it's going.

There has always been something I wanted to know about you

Now there's something you want know about me

Tell me now where there is my son

And maybe I'll tell you what what do you want to know?

- Don't want to blackmail me. - Why not?

You are the one who has relations behind the iron curtain.

You know this man who I married was murdered.

Because it wasn't yours.

My son was taken away.

You promised me that if I obeyed you, You tell me where it is.

Tell me

that my material belongs to the government.

In these packages do you want so much

What did Hank tell her to do

when the airport abandoned Was surrounded by soldiers?

I have to get closer so you can see me.

Will he allow the soldiers hand us over to the police?

And who tells you Aren't Danzer and Goro waiting for us?

What has disappeared It's the money to pay for it.

The money is there somewhere, or it will be, it is very possible.

Brady has yet to appear or my men would have captured him.

The only thing we have to to do is to wait.

He's there.

He wants us to stay here.

We can pass between these men easier than them.

Come

We already know where the money is. There is no reason to wait.

There's no reason to wait, Dullah.

- I understand. - clearly?

I tried to advise him it does not trust anyone.

Now I understand why he came alone.

He understands too late, You're right.

Is that how he gets rid of me?

Can you think of any reason after my advice? Why shouldn't I do it?

Do you think that a government, my government,

who sent me to America 8 years ago become a US citizen,

I was going to trust a crook black market like you?

Who are you trying to convince? with your insults? For me or for you?

With papers that show that I am American,

I buy this material,

and I sell it behind the Steel curtain.

And so we will show our opinion.

that the Americans They are arms dealers.

I see you trying to try a lie.

When I'm done, It won't seem like a lie.

That's how we tricked them.

love letters They don't care much about censorship.

Look, neither Danzer nor Goro You know Mr. Kovac.

I thought if I could get him out of here, Susan would introduce him to Tangier,

they wouldn't be looking for a man and a tourist wife.

I hate asking for favors to the people I love.

But I have to.

Kovac must enter the bank alone.

As if there hadn't been no interference

Don't ask Gil to leave. Colonel Wier would kill him.

For the murder of a policeman. One of Goro's men.

I ask you to do a job it's none of your business.
