I was terrified!
You were in danger, Hope.
>> Ridge: That's not what she

>> Hope: [ Sighs ] Mom, I could
see how you might think that at
the time.
>> Ridge: He was threatening you

at all, was he?
He was apologizing.
>> Hope: That's true.
>> Brooke: What?!

>> Hope: Look, Mom, I know how
it looked.
But Thomas...
He wasn't threatening me.

>> Quinn: How badly was Thomas
hurt?
>> Eric: They're not sure yet.
It has to be pretty bad, given

that fall he took.
>> Quinn: Okay, so we should get
to the hospital.
>> Eric: No, no, no, no.

Ridge is there.
He's gonna call back after
they've done some -- some tests.
Oh, God, Quinn...

This is too much.
This family cannot deal with
another loss.
>> Quinn: No, that's not going

to happen.

I'm still in shock that Thomas
knew about Beth all this time,

that he kept this terrible
secret from everybody.
Including Hope!
I'm worried about him.

I really am.
It's just one thing after

unnecessary pain.

[ Door buzzes ]
>> Shauna: Flo. Oh, honey.

It was a big mistake, ever
letting them come stay at our
house.

scrape together enough bail

money, but I got to be honest

goes to trial.

And I let Hope be in pain for

months, and I did nothing about
it.
Why should anyone do anything
for me?

>> Brooke: What I saw was not an
apology.
>> Hope: Thomas was desperate,
and he was expressing his regret

and his remorse.
>> Liam: Yeah, where was his
remorse all those months he was
lying to you?

>> Hope: I agree.
There is no justification for
what Thomas did.
But, it was just -- it was like

he suddenly woke up and realized
what he had been doing, and he
just kept begging me and asking
me for forgiveness.

>> Ridge: So my son wasn't
trying to hurt your daughter.
He was trying to make amends.
And you pushed me off a cliff.

>> Eric: I hate this.
>> Quinn: I know you want to
help.
And, in spite of everything he's

done, you love Thomas very much.
>> Eric: None of this should
have happened.
>> Quinn: I know!

I'm appalled by all of it.
I just --
I can't square it, Eric.
I have known Flo and Shauna for

years.
They were there for me and Wyatt
when we had absolutely no one.
Eric, Flo is not a monster.

She's a sweet, thoughtful young
woman who I wanted to be my
daughter-in-law.
Thomas has made mistakes, but

you still think that he's an
inherently good person, right?
I feel the same way about Flo.

He's still unconscious.

so that he can be here for
Douglas.

>> Brooke: Any change?

>> All right, Thomas is still
unconscious and we're waiting
for the results of the CT scan.
But his initial X-rays were

negative for skull fracture, and
his vital signs show no
indication of subdural
hemorrhaging.

>> Ridge: Okay, that's good.
>> Now, we are monitoring his
intracranial pressure very
carefully.

If that continues to rise, we
may need to perform emergency
surgery.
>> Brooke: What?

>> Ridge: What?
>> Brooke: Oh, my God, brain
surgery.
>> To release the pressure,

okay, of the cerebral edema.
We are treating him with oxygen
therapy at present, okay, in
hopes that we might be able to

manage the swelling.
>> Hope: Well, how bad it is?
>> Significant.
>> Brooke: But you do think

he'll wake up.
>> We're monitoring him very
carefully.
Now, it might help me to better

understand his condition if I
learn more about this fall.
Were any of you with him at that
time?

>> Hope: I -- I was.

Was Thomas altered in any way?
Confused?

I've been waiting out here for
any kind of news, and I just
really want to go see my son.

figured my face would be on a
"Wanted" poster behind the desk.

>> Shauna: So obviously you
know.

Quinn, I'm so sorry.
I didn't know where else to go.
My baby's in jail.
>> Quinn: How is she?

>> Shauna: She's terrified, and
so am I.
Flo is not a criminal.
She doesn't know how to deal

with prosecutors and defense
attorney.
>> Quinn: Have you spoken to her
lawyer?

>> Shauna: I can't afford to
hire an attorney.
I can't even make bail.
I feel so helpless.

And, Quinn, you have been such
an amazing friend to me all
these years.
You know, we've raised our kids

together, we've supported each
other, and when we came to
Los Angeles, you invited us to
your home, and...

And I'm sure you're really angry
with us and you have a million
questions, and you have every
right to feel like you were

betrayed.
But Flo is not evil, honey.
She is still the same sweet girl
that you've loved and admired,

and -- and she's made terrible
choices.

about Beth, about Flo helping to
swap the babies is true?
>> Shauna: Flo does not belong

in jail.
And I really, really need your
help to get her out.

Ridge is upset to see his son
laying there in a hospital bed.

he's emotional, but he knows --
He's got to know that you would
not intentionally hurt Thomas.

>> Hope: Yeah, and we have to
make sure that he understands
that.
>> Brooke: Yeah.

Yeah, I can try.
I just -- I just don't know what
to think because...
I-I don't know how he's going to

react if Thomas doesn't recover.

>> Ridge: Hey.
[ Sighs ]
You got to wake up.
You don't want your mom and your

sister to see you like this.
It would scare them.
And even when you were a kid,
that was always your thing.

You wanted to make sure that
your sisters weren't scared.
You always took care of them.
So you got to be okay.

You got to be okay for Steffy
and for your mom.
And for Douglas.
That little boy loves you so

much.
Even after everything that
happened...
[ Sighs ]

I know what you were trying to
do.

a family for him.

You were trying to have a home
for him, but you did it all
wrong.
