On September 18th, 2020.
ATF agent Rizzoli was shot and left to die on a remote property in the Sawtooth
Mountains, home to the Collective.
According to the FBI, the Collective is a cult run by reclusive
leader Terry Munn. Will the Collective survive this latest round of police
scrutiny? Will this siege be a game of chess?
or end with an explosive act of violence.
Many of these outcomes hinge on one looming question.
Who shot Agent Rizzoli?
Ricky, are you shooting this off speed?
No. Well, maybe try doing some of this, like, 120 frames per second. You know,
something where I do dynamic moves.
Sure. You got a polarizer on, right?
No, ND.
ND?
ND6? ND9.
9?
Okay. But are you still getting lens flare?
Yeah, sort of.
Yeah. Okay, let's do some slow -mo. What do you think, Juergen? Sounds good.
Okay, great.
Okay, I'm going to change shirts quick.
Why are you changing shirts?
I don't know, I thought I'd give you a series, you know? That way you could cut
them up and use them on different days.
OK. So wait, you could have me doing Tai Chi in every episode as a runner.
Maybe even as the cold open for every episode, right? Like it starts with me
doing Tai Chi and then boom, titles.
Oh, are we? Sorry. I'm FBI Special Agent Cullen. Did you want my name to start?
Yeah, name is good.
Okay. And what is your role here?
My role? Well, that's a good question. If you find out what my role is here,
please let me know.
You want me to find out your role here? No, that was a joke.
I'm part of the FBI Tactical Response Unit under the supervision of Senior
Special Agent Dustin Kasperwitz.
And I am, as of now, in a supporting role, which is what it is.
You don't seem happy about that.
Do I think I would do it differently? Yeah, I probably would. What would you
doing? I think I would start by interrogating the one guy we have from
who apparently is a witness to the shooting of ATF agent Rizzoli. Dale
Cumberson? Yes, Mr. Cumberson. I would be interrogating him very closely
of using him as some sort of trophy. Mr. Cumberson is a trophy?
No, he's not an actual trophy.
My name is Dirk Cumberson, and I'm a survivor of the Collective.
I'm now assisting law enforcement with their investigation.
Can you describe your time in the Collective? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa. Hey, guys, guys, what are we doing here?
I thought I told you no interviewing my boy Dirk here without me present.
I was just asking Dirk about his time in the collective.
Mr. Cumberston was hoodwinked by a master manipulator. His dignity was
from him, the love of his life, his life savings.
That's how this Terry character operates.
The FBI rescued Mr.
Cumberson from this murderous cult, and we're not stopping there.
Can I also say, can we film this? Can we film this? We still are.
That exit counselor Greg Kowalski's deprogramming services is a total scam.
Greg is an untrustworthy man who smells like... I'd say just cut there.
Do you think you should be in charge?
Do I think I could lead?
Absolutely. Would I, for instance?
be trying to end this siege instead of endlessly sitting for interviews for an
FBI documentary?
No offense?
But you are sitting for an interview right now. Because I'm not in charge.
That's my whole point.
You know what? I gotta get back.
Does this come off, or how do I... Are we good? We got enough. I think we got
it. Some say you could have resolved this situation by storming the compound.
Who told you that?
Oh, let me guess. Cullen? Yeah. When Special Agent Cullen is in charge, he
handle it his way. But I won't risk further bloodshed. This will not be
Waco. Not on my watch.
Oh, does it matter that I said not on my watch and I'm not wearing a watch?
Can you see my wrist in the shot? Like, should I have a watch? Give me your
watch. Somebody give me your... Robbie, give me your watch.
My name is Diane Streeton. And you found Agent Rizzoli and called 911?
Yes. I found that poor woman down at the western fence.
She was just in a towel.
It was awful.
There was blood everywhere.
I've got no idea what they do over there, but it's not good.
They've always been weird, but we never thought they were doing anything
illegal. And is that why you have allowed the police to use your property?
Yeah, like we have a choice.
Well, we didn't want any trouble.
Has the occupation of your property caused you any problems?
Well, the commotion has been upsetting the cows a little bit. Say about the
chickens. Well, Norm, we don't know it was them. Tell them about the chickens.
Tell them. Well, there are six chickens missing.
Two of our peahens.
And the rooster.
Well, we don't know it was them. Of course we know it was them. You're the
who wants to talk to them. You've got to tell them the facts. The people want to
know the facts.
Tell them I found the chicken bones.
in the fire pit. That's an important fact.
Animals. Go inside, Norm. There's no difference.
Stop this talking. I'm going. I'm going, you stupid woman. I'm on my way. Go
back inside.
Love you.
Love you, too.
I was interested to learn about the teachings of the collective
and was admitted to their compound to observe.
Only when we accept our own individual brutal truth can we actually experience
the present.
Who's ready to get real with me today?
Kevin, stand up for me.
Kevin, do I have your permission to get real with you?
Please do.
Great. This planet is a worse place because you exist.
You personally are a painful burden to every living organism.
Hands up who wishes Kevin was never born.
Do you see that? That's every single hand. Yes, even yours, Kevin. That is
right instinct. And how does that make you feel, Kevin?
Um, meaningless, I guess.
Meaningless. And meaningful.
Do you understand?
Yeah, I think I do.
You don't.
Kevin, I want you to go to the river and count the number of pebbles on the
bank. Write down the number on a piece of paper and then burn the paper. Do you
understand? I do. You don't. I don't.
But I will.
Run along now.
To the police, Terry Mann is a dangerous manipulator and a prime suspect
in the shooting of Agent Rizzoli.
But to those inside the collective...
She is the ruler and a beacon of light.
Are you comfortable?
Would you like another cushion?
No, I'm fine. It's taller if you do. Some people struggle with a hard floor.
Oh, thank you, Fronte. Do you like Bergamot? Yeah, thank you.
So tell me, what is the Collective?
It is a big, scary cult.
That's what you've heard, right?
Broadly speaking, the Collective is a sanctuary for people who've chosen to
their eyes to the reality of the world we live in. We're also a world -class
stargazing destination.
What do you say to the FBI's claim that you shot Agent
Rizzoli? Well, here's where we see, once again, the cult of law enforcement
designing its own version of truth, which then becomes the documented
You're not drinking your tea.
I let it cool down.
Dirk Cumberson sadly shot that agent, and he did it without my knowledge or
approval, and I have told the FBI that. Why do you think the FBI doesn't agree
with you?
It's not in their interest.
Don't you see that you yourself are part of the FBI's propaganda?
If it's true, why did you respond to our request to an interview?
To help you, and to offer you both sides of the story.
Do you remember that Phil Collins song? No. Both sides of the story. I want to
say it was 93.
It's really worth a listen.
Given that your members pay a lot of money to stay here, why does the
not pay any tax?
I've enjoyed conversing with you. Thank you for dropping by. Do you not want
to... I can see that you wish to keep your eyes closed.
No tea for you.
Thank you.
Kevin, please.
Calm down. No, no, no. Don't tell me to calm down.
I've been calm, all right?
I was already calm, and that doesn't get me results.
So now I'm this guy. And I don't want to be this guy, Terry. I don't want to be
this guy. But apparently this is the only way that I get to have fake time
you. Okay, well, here we are, okay?
Are you happy? Happy.
Am I happy? No.
I would be happy if I got a little bit more respect around here. I respect you.
Don't be silly. Do not bullshit me! I knew you when you were selling Avon shit
door -to -door lotion, lady. I shouldn't have to beg for an audience. You better
watch yourself, Kevin, okay? You are skating on thin ice. Remember who you
talking to. Uh -uh. No.
You're the one skating on thin ice. I'm sure those cops out there would just
love to hear about the IRS and that... Wait, what was that?
With the growing footprint of the police presence, full -time maintenance staff
like Vince here have been called in. I take care of the trash and the toilets
and generally keep this site tidy.
Can you tell me what the police have called you?
Left a big case in there for you, Sergeant Poop.
Thank you. I'm on it. Yeah, I'm Sergeant Poop. It's all
good fun.
I'm the eyes and ears of the site. Nothing really happens here without me
knowing it. Oh, and I'm really not a sergeant, in case that's not clear. It's
more of an honorary role.
There they are, our little Romeo and Juliet.
Vince has stumbled on an unlikely love story.
This is the fifth or sixth time I've seen them at that same spa.
Have you told anyone about them?
What did Walt Whitman say?
We were together.
I forget the rest.
That's the quote. I didn't actually forget the rest.
Do you not feel duty -bound to inform your superiors about this breach?
In my experience, it doesn't matter if it's a porta -potty or executive
bathroom. It all comes out the same way in the end.
He's in a cult. She's in kind of a cult of her own. You know, as long as
everyone's getting along, what's the harm?
I was drugged by Terry. Did you know that? And I was there.
when Rizzoli got shot, okay? So this is very, very personal to me.
Have you spoken to Agent Rizzoli since that incident?
No, she was shot. She's in a coma. But I'm told she may come out, so, you know,
let's hope. And what if she never does?
Well, this is why I want to talk to Comfortson. This is why we should be
interrogating him. But Catherwood is too busy peacocking around, doing puff
pieces for your stupid fucking documentary, no offense.
And honestly, there is no reason we shouldn't have stormed the compound and
arrested Terry. Zero reason. And the longer this siege drags out... The
it gets.
Let's cut that out. I shouldn't have said dumber.
I just want my wife back. My darling, Sue.
Come.
Actually, Sue, if you're watching this, please come back to me, Strawberry.
I want you.
I need you. I love you.
Please.
Please snap out of this madness and come home.
This is not life, Derek.
It's on?
So when is it going out? Not sure. We don't have a broadcaster yet. Maybe end
the year. End of the year?
Oh, great. Well, she'll probably be dead by then.
Murdered by Terry.
I'll be a widower. You could probably just put that under my name. Dirk
Cumberson, widower.
Are you crying?
Well, don't cry off camera, you idiot. Give us those tears.
After so many days and nights waiting, the police line have taken on a festival
-like quality.
And as the stalemate between the collective and the law enforcement plays
keep thinking about the worth of Sgt. Poop. Which of these organizations is
real cult?
This is certainly not another Waco.
Waco was 28 years ago, and the FBI has learned its lesson from that time.
What sort of lesson?
Look, more people die from lawnmower accidents every year than they did at
Not many people know that. So this is quite different from Waco. Look, I'm not
sure why you keep mentioning Waco. This is not that. This is a completely
professional and efficient operation.
Thank you. Oh.
I thought we had half an hour. Look, I have personal matters to attend to. I'm
getting a divorce.
The police continue to wait, like a game of chess, where perhaps not both sides
know the rules.
It's a complete schmozzle, basically. They set up the communications here, and
it's all digital. Big mistake, because everyone's bored, downloading music and
streaming shows, and the server gets swamped. So what happens?
I'll tell you what happened. I have to physically walk out to units.
Me, okay? You believe that? They don't pay me enough to fucking walk.
Car 44 reporting.
Where do I park?
Just give me a minute. I don't have room for you guys right now.
Copy. And actually, it's only me. My partner, Brother Eduardo, drowned, but
not forgotten.
I guess I'm in a whole car, so... I am Officer Tollbeck.
I'm just back from an enforced leave.
Suspension, I guess.
Why were you suspended?
Because my partner died while we were both on a combination of pills and some
other stuff.
But I don't know. That sounds serious.
Yeah, I'm haunted by it every day. But I've had some counseling and I'm fit for
duty now.
Also, it was cheaper not to fire me.
You used to partner Special Agent Cullen, isn't that right?
Yeah, he and I were partners for 12 years until last year when he moved to
FBI. Do you stay in touch?
Oh, yeah, all the time. We're like brothers.
Have you seen him today?
Is he here?
I was no closer to discovering who was responsible for shooting Agent Rizzoli.
Terry Mann would no longer admit me to the compound.
While Agent Kasparovic seemed content to wait.
Uh, yeah, you'll want to get this.
2000?
2001? Oh, oh, hey.
Can I help you, Colin? Uh, no. I'll be doing the helping. Oh, okay.
So, good news.
Rizzoli came out of her coma.
Huh? So, I got an FBI artist to sit down with her and work up an identikit of
her shooter.
So, this is Terry.
Yeah?
I mean, the hair isn't quite right, and I think overall she looks kind of
mannish here, but yeah, that's definitely Terry. Hmm, you're sure?
Don't you think, Justin?
I'll be honest, I haven't actually met Terry, so... Oh, that's interesting,
because, you know, when I first saw this, I thought, hmm.
That looks exactly like Dirk. What do you think, Dirk?
Like me? Because Rizzoli made a statement about a man fitting your
and confirmed it was not Harry.
Okay, stand back.
Oh, whoa.
It's okay. It's okay. Stand back. You move one muscle and I will end you.
I'll end you.
What the fuck?
Juergen. It's just a rough assembly.
Spoiler alert, I look like a fucking idiot.
Are you trying to embarrass the FBI, Juergen? And that shit guy, Vince?
Why is he even a part of it? And never mind the fact that you ended it on Dirk
and the gun. That's not even how it ended. It's a cliffhanger. We have to
play it in the next episode.
Can I see that? Sure.
Calm down. Calm down.
Take it easy. I want a helicopter.
I want a really nice helicopter.
What? No.
Fuck you. You're not getting my helicopter.
Just say yes. Just agree. No, I will not. That is... That is... Oh,
fuck you. Hey, I've been looking for you.
Who's this guy?
Is it okay to attack with him? I've been really doubting my instincts lately.
Hey, Dustin.
Dirk Cumberston. I'm placing you under arrest for the attempted murder of Agent
Rizzoli. Piece of shit.
I want to help you take down Jerry.
Good, Cullen. The trap is run. See? I keep my friends close, but I keep my
enemies even closer. Okay, you proud me a little bit there. Just stand back.
Thank you.
Let's go tall back.
Okay, good.
Great work, Cullen.
You're getting... You're fired.
I'm sorry you don't like the piece.
Well, I don't like the piece. None of this sees the light of day. I want all
data cards on my desk by the end of the day. Well, I really like the piece. You
don't get it, do you?
By arresting Cumberson, you completely fucked us. How do you figure that?
the finale now, Colin?
The finale?
Yeah. If you're in the 18 to 49 demo, why would you tune in to the next
if we already got... dirt does it really fucking matter presumably if you've
watched this far you're gonna watch the last episode oh is that how it works i
didn't realize i guess that you were the nate silver of fucking tv sabermetrics

leave at any nanosecond you can't hide a bad episode anymore if we don't go out
with a bang with 95 audience retention guess what genius we don't get a season
two This isn't some bullshit streaming subscription service. This is the FBI.
What the fuck was that? Who the fuck is in charge here? Holy shit. Who is that?
It's Kevin Bacon. And he's got a gun.
Juergen, roll on this. This right here is the finale.
Who's in charge here? I got some shit to say about Terry Mann.
