It's been 36 years

since I've been in a church.

My parents would take my brother, my sister, and me

and drop us off at church, but

I haven't been since I was 13 years old.

- So you know the stories in the Bible?

- Never really read the Bible,

or really paid any attention to the teachers.

- Well, Jesus has been watching over you.

- I believe he has, but

I didn't want anything to do with him.

I just wanted to be a pilot.

I used to sit and play with

model airplanes when I was a kid.

I had this toy airplane.

It was a gas powered control line model,

and I'd saved up money from deliver newspapers

and bought it for myself.

I never got tired of playing with that airplane.

- What, you should be thankful for Charlie

and thankful for that pastor.

He trusts that pastor too much.

- Well, maybe he just really believes

that the pastor can help Charlie.

Last night he went to their church service.

And as a matter of fact, he said

before he passed that he wished he had

practiced his religion more.

Once he believes something, that's it.

I wish I never introduced you to that Pastor Joe.

- If we have to go to church somewhere, that's fine.

I just don't want to go to that church.

I see my past bad behavior reflected in my son.

I do sometimes go to church,

but usually I don't understand what they're talking about.

- All I do know

is that my son needs help

and the doctors say they're

running out of things to do for him.

- I can't believe everyone is just giving up on him.

The doctors don't even wanna help him.

Before he was in the hospital,

he would get very violent and we'd call the police, but

they wouldn't even come out to the house.

- Just know that whenever you call Jesus, he will answer.

- I realize that now.

I mean, I even started to to pray for my son.

- We'll continue to pray

Because this is a spiritual battle.

- You know, I never believed in spiritual things,

but my eyes are open now.

I think about something that happened when,

when Charlie was very young, maybe seven.

I went into the kitchen around midnight and

he was just staring out the window.

You're supposed to be in bed.

- He left.

- My best friend.

and we're here to bring some awareness

to some spiritual warfare

that's happening in this nation right now.

How do we bring our young people to God?

I believe that we need to pray and fast for this generation.

and prayer was just for Jesus' time.

- What happened 2000 years ago in Jesus's time

His word says by his stripes, we are healed.

In Mark 16:17, it says, those who call on his name,

they will cast out demons.

there are many people

are tormented by the devil.

There's a spiritual warfare going on

and we need to be aware of it.

ask for prayer for a young man named Charlie Newman.
