in this video we will go over
the pyramiding and the date and time
filter sections for these skeleton key external
starting with the pyramiding function right here
i think it's um mostly self explanatory
but we'll go through it nonetheless and
this is for if you intend to
use multiple entries or
or multiple exits to pyramid in or
pyramid out of your trades so the
first entry right here use entry bar
cooldown is for if you intend to
have a function that essentially makes it
so that you will not enter
are in on the second consecutive entry
um immediately so if you have a
bar cooldown of two it will wait
two bars before it once again gives
you the green light to potentially add
again if your criteria is um is
still active or you can enter or
you can
and you know habit enter for you
um on the second consecutive one and
from there as well you know if
you have three or four five entries
whatever might be um you can enter
without a signal as well just wait
for that next bar so if you
say enter without signal on a bar
cool down too that means after two
bars you will just enter regardless of
what happened if you have it
unselected than the criteria for entry needs
to be valid after two bars for
it to enter yet again
you could also do it by percent
so percent um away from your initial
entry
again use negative percent if well if
you want a negative percent number um
and you can do the same function
right here with enter without signal okay
moving on now multiple exits so for
this one we choose the amount of
exits we potentially want to have so
if you want to have three you
know a pyramid of three for your
exits
are three different orders you would like
three if you want five different orders
you select five so on and so
forth again use multiple exits you need
to have this selected for it to
even consider this as a as a
criteria and for pyramid right here this
if you enable
will enable two pyramid exit similar to
how entries pyramid so if a new
entry occurs before one hundred percent exit
um it would add another exit essentially
and you can also have a specific
percent right here again i'll just highlight
the tool tip enables tuesday pacific specific
exit percentage the altar
tentative is linear based on the number
of exits
so as you can see this your
first second third fourth um and it
goes by percent of course as well
you can use exit bar cooldowns same
idea as above with the bar cool
down right here it'll wait it leads
to bars if you have this selected
um and you can also exit without
signals so literally just wait two bars
ok exit there if you don't
have it selected than after two bars
your criteria would need to be valid
again and then it will exit the
next portion and then you can also
do it by percent cool down as
well so
just percent away from your initial exit
and same idea here with the exit
without signal ok next section again probably
more on the self-explanatory side but the
date and time filter is something that
i find tremendous value in so i
want to provide a little bit of
insight as to how i look at
this especially when it comes to crypto
those are bitcoin for example um your
time zone well just whatever times when
you want to be using um in
this particular section i find that with
long strategies you're usually best off using
gmt minus three gmt minus five gmt
minus seven or gmt minus ten those
seem to be
for whatever reasons some of the better
ones i don't know why but it
is or at least that's what i've
noticed especially on medium and lower term
timeframes but again play around with it
as um it will you know it
will change things around and that might
not be consist with everything so it's
worth playing around with use date range
would essential
we just well look at only these
date ranges right here from the start
to the end as far as the
backtesting calculations go you could also do
them the deep bag tester which will
give you even greater ranges of course
for the end date um you can
use session so if you if you
employ a session it will activate the
section right here the time session so
it will only take trades between in
this particular example nine am to five
thirty pm or i think that's self
explanatory nine to seventeen thirty
um anyways
moving on from there use session exit
this one will basically exit you automatically
when the end portion of this session
um happens so if you just like
let's say you're trading traditional markets and
you want to avoid some extra fees
by holding things you know into like
the last thirty minutes or hour or
or or
after close maybe you have a session
exit somewhere around that time and just
whenever that time is it will exit
you automatically at whatever price that is
and then you have time session so
this is ah this is our weekday
filter if you have this selected on
it activates this section right here and
again something that i find very relevant
for bitcoin and cryptos is that on
the long side especially in medium and
lower term timeframes it's best to avoid
thursday
they almost always and then either saturday
or sunday are usually days that do
not do typically well for long strategies
um very very often on the lower
term time from stephen on the medium
term timeframes as well um for short
strategies it would be tuesday and a
lot of the time saturday as well
those are the days that do not
form perform very well but again worth
playing around with and then use weekday
exit that means that um you will
essentially exit trades on you know specifically
non trading days so that would be
your traditional market trading schedule so basically
monday through friday is your you know
your real trading and then
you know saturday sunday no trading so
just exit him
anyways then
