in this video we'll go over the
external sources rpm rp and divergent settings
on the skeleton key external starting off
with of course the external sources just
like the other sources there are five
allotted venues for you to input if
you so desire
the a b c d and e
sources right you're actually even f six
wow
i can't say i've ever used six
but if it if you need to
it is there for you anyways external
sources is a very open-ended setting which
you can usually find value in when
you need to do something a little
bit more um exotic let's say so
um in this example we have the
external sources a and we can well
we can choose two indicators to essentially
use against each other if we so
desire or we can use price against
some sort of indicator um it is
very open-ended so what i'm going to
do here someone to use the h
cdr bounds for example helps
just type in h pdr and let's
go with bands right here and that'll
bring this up because this is traditionally
where i use this one
seems to not be loading as of
right now okay there we go alright
so in the background let's do an
example with this let's say we wanted
to have a condition that um we
want to enter when price when the
current price close is above the h
pdr bands
upper range one for example it says
not going to be obviously a good
strategy but just for example sake we
can do that we could also say
that price must open above the bounds
range one again
whatever you decide to use this for
is is up to you of course
we can also change the operators right
here we could do less than we
could do greater than or equal to
less than equal to or even crossover
and cross under now crossover means that
in this case price would need across
over the bands up
arrange one in order for this condition
to be present here and you can
have an offset percentage as well if
you so desire middle essentially be added
to the source value again you can
use plus or minus for this in
order to get the correct to offset
direction if you want to have like
a margin of error for example
again historical bar index i do not
mess without all nor do i mess
with bars external sources valid these can
lead to repaint issues in my experience
although other people have found value in
these so which is why we have
left it there but in my experience
best not to mess with this it
might produce results that are not
not accurate as far as entry logical
groups go and exit logical groups go
again same thing as before but this
is this is the input that really
allows you to do some some special
stuff with this with this indicator with
this script so it's up to you
how you want to use it again
you can use for entry or exit
um
and and basically any indicator that you
have access to you can input right
here
move to the next one which is
the rpm rp settings so this is
a reverse pm rp so we decided
to include this because um the pm
r p is a very common indicator
used in this particular script for profit-taking
or or or eve
an entry as well but in this
case it's going to be relevant for
profit taking um and so what it
is doing it is it is giving
you a reverse function for the p
m or p meaning that it spits
out the value for which the pm
rp would need to correlate to
current price so let's say you wanted
to exit when the pm rp was
at one hundred percent tile and you
wanted to have a limit order there
will you can do that and these
these would be the settings for it
and then the setup would actually be
in this section here which we'll get
into in the next video um but
the settings that use for the pm
rp
ea would be here so let's say
you wanted to have an m a
type of a vm or actually you
can't use the v w anime you
cannot use the volume weighted moving average
here um for the reverse function that
is because there's well there's no way
to accurately judge that because volume is
you know is going to be dependent
upon the current period in which
which you can't you can't really forecast
for but for all the other inputs
who we can select i typically go
with ebay you can choose the length
right here twenty and twenty one is
twenty one are very common inputs i'll
play around with nine or thirteen for
example and then the lookback again three
fifty is very common intp
put two fifty is a very common
input and one hundred is a very
common input as well and again these
will correlate to the settings that will
cover in the next section in the
next video for optimization for the rpm
rp take profit values but this is
how you would set that up right
there and then divergent settings so for
our dive
vergence indicators above we can define the
look-back that we would be judging this
off of so we can both look
on the left-hand side from the current
closure and the right hand side and
so this would for example look back
five five bars
to define divergence let's say we wanted
to define divergence ten bars back you
know incorporating more data that's fine as
well or fifteen bars even we can
do that too but i in general
would suggest keeping it at five it's
really not wise to go too far
back because the further
back that you go the more and
more unreliable it will be towards the
current price action and same thing for
the right look back as well actually
where it will start to look at
the the forwards
