in this video we'll go over the
threshold range and slope conditions on the
skeleton key external okay first things first
we'll start off with the threshold of
which you have five different sections for
constituting threshold conditions a b c d
and e you can use all the
these or you can use none of
these or you can use just one
of these few sodas arm it's up
to you but i will give you
an example right here let's say we
wanted to have a threshold condition for
the psvr plotline which again it must
be first present on your chart in
order for you to be able to
select it and let's say that we
wanted to
only enter if the pm rp plotline
is less than twenty five percent tell
well we'd set it up like this
of course if you're not familiar with
these conditions right here this is less
damn this is greater than this is
greater than or equal to this is
less than or equal to and this
is just equal to
as an aside i do want to
say that i find it's best to
not get hyper specific with your input
um right here as far as the
nominal value goes traditionally i have a
rule of just increments of five i
find that when you start to get
hyper specific with it whether you choose
like let's say twenty one spot
five or even twenty one for that
matter you might run into the issue
of well of of over optimization um
i might not always work like that
of course but in my experience just
better to simplify it especially when you're
doing long-term tests it's going to usually
side
step that issue better than being super
super specific with just with very small
increments
historical bar index and bar signals as
valid again i do not play around
with i find it's best not to
mess with these settings um it in
my experience it runs the you know
issues with potentially repainting or oregon over
optimization you might find differently again more
power to you if you do but
as a general rule for
for myself i do not ever touch
these and then of course the entry
logical group or exit logical group these
are the same definitions as before if
you have an selected for the entry
and then all of your entry conditions
must be present for whatever group you
have air beam in order to enter
and if you have or selected well
if any condition
is valid than you will in this
case enter or five north sorry exit
in this case since i have only
exit logical group okay moving on now
to the range condition so the range
is very similar to the threshold accept
it just gives you a range of
values so again here
we're in the middle you will select
whatever indicator you want to you want
to be using in this case i'm
using the crown vmc fast and then
on the left-hand side this is what
it must be above and on the
right hand side this is what it
must be below or equal to as
well by the way in order for
this condition to be valid
so in this particular instance this would
mean that the crown um vmt fast
must be above greater than or equal
to ten and below or equal to
twenty in order for this condition to
be valid if it's outside of that
range not valid aka no entry or
if we were to do the exit
right here well it would
exit on that condition of course okay
moving on now to slope slope again
i think is um maybe more easily
defined slope is just the well the
slope and the slope of the indicator
that you are choosing so again we'll
just choose let's say
say the the crown vmt fast that
means that this indicator right here if
the if we choose a positive slope
for example that the current closure the
current period which is represented at the
top left-hand side must be increasing from
the prior
or
in order for that condition to be
valid so in this case if we're
looking at let me mark this one
off right here if we're looking at
this this particular closure than the prior
one must be lower for that lower
than that for this condition to be
valid if you're choosing an upslope and
of course vice versa for negative slope
so in skeleton key terms
we would look at this slope or
we already have the crown bmc fast
selected them if it's negative again there
must be a decrease from the prior
to the current or if it's positive
it must be an increase from the
prior to the current on entry or
exit of course and you can also
choose flat which means that there must
be no change between the
from the prior to the current or
you can also combine positive and flat
or negative and flat which let's say
we choose positive and flat well that
means that either it can be unchanged
from the prior to the current or
it can have a slight increase from
the prior to the current on and
tree for example okay that
