(Xiao Mudan) Move faster!

(Madam of Huaying Brothel) I'll have your heads if you can't find her!

Yes, ma'am.

Xiao Mudan's at it again.

I've lost count of how many times it's happened this month.

Get on with it.

Did you forget how Li died?

If she hears you,

she'll skin you alive.

Xu Yin always looks timid, but the moment she had to keep Liu Kui company,

she threw herself into the river.

If she ends up dead, I'll have no way to answer to Mr. Kui.

Can't blame her.

No woman who stayed with Liu Kui ever survived.

- Their deaths were horrific. - Shut that trap of yours.

What good are you if you won't keep my customers happy?

That's right.

Enough.

We've found her!

What are you waiting for?

Pull her out!

Why are there two?

- Why are there two women? - Indeed.

Playing dead?

Get up!

We took Mr. Kui's money. Don't you dare die on me!

Maybe we should return it.

You think he cares about that pocket change?

If we can't hand her over, Huaying Brothel's finished.

Keep your mouths shut

or you won't live through today.

What a perfect body.

Oh, Xu Yin,

did you think dying would free you?

All I ever needed was your face.

(Three months later)

Oh, Xu Yin.

Surprised?

Your face is alive again.

It's flawless.

It's as if it was carved from the same mold.

From this moment on,

you're Xu Yin.

Win Mr. Kui over

and I'll treat you like my own daughter.

You'll want for nothing.

You turned me into this.

Aren't you afraid of retribution?

Retribution?

Don't forget. You were a disfigured wreck

when I found you.

I found the best doctor in the city,

and I gave you that beautiful face.

You should be grateful.

Never!

I'd rather die than let you control me.

I see you won't behave until you're staring death in the face.

The only reason you're alive is to serve Mr. Kui.

One mistake,

and I'll make sure you wish you were dead.

(Liu Kui, the Tyrant of Rong City) I've waited so long for you.

I'm dying of impatience here.

I heard you jumped into the river just to avoid me.

I like that fire in you.

Please me tonight

and maybe I'll buy your freedom,

make you one of my concubines.

Don't touch me!

Unhand me!

You asked for it!

You little wretch, I'll kill you!

Drag that brat over here!

- Yes. - Yes.

Ungrateful wench.

Mr. Kui's one of our biggest clients.

He wants an explanation from Huaying Brothel.

Since you caused the mess,

you'll clean it up.

Throw her in and lock it.

Send her to him as compensation.

Help!

Let me out!

Here, I'm the one you answer to.

Oppose me,

and you won't survive.

Is that clear?

Help!

Stop!

(Lin Yun, Head of Chengyun Society)

Who are you?

(I didn't expect the first person to ask who I am)

(to be you,)

(Lin Yun.)

(My face was destroyed,)

(my name taken.)

(Everything that happened)

(started with that wedding)

(built on lies and deceit.)

(On the day of the wedding)

(Song Zhichu, Police Chief of Rong City)

The groom is here.

(Liang Residence) Are the lotus seeds ready? The lilies?

Is the front hall all set up?

Miss Liang, stop worrying about all that.

(Liang Yi) You just need to be

(Only daughter of the Liang family) the most beautiful bride today.

(Ruyi, Maid of the Liang family) You're so eager to get married.

Silly girl.

Once you fall for someone, you'll understand.

Song Zhichu is the police chief.

His father, Song Ming, is the mayor.

Now, he's marrying the daughter of Rong City's richest man.

The Song family's practically becoming royalty.

You mean Liang Wenbin is so desperate to climb the ladder

(Liang Wenbin, Richest Man in Rong City) that he'd even sell his daughter?

Mind your tongue!

I love Miss Liang from the bottom of my heart

and I'm earnest about this marriage.

No one has the right

to doubt my love for her.

Today's my wedding,

so I'll let that slide.

Father.

Let's go.

The auspicious hour has arrived.

(Song Ming, Mayor of Rong City)

Let's go over there.

Mr. Li, it's an honor

to have you here.

Thank you.

Congratulations.

Isn't that Lin Yun, the man who runs the underworld here?

What's he doing here?

Is he here to cause a scene?

You didn't even clean the blood on your hands.

Lin Yun, you strut in as if you own the place.

(Deed) I wouldn't have come without this.

Since when has the Liang family's wedding

allowed just anyone to wander in?

Zhichu.

You're right, Father.

But today's a joyous occasion.

Guests are guests.

Liang, let the younger ones

handle their own business.

Have a drink with me.

He's an old stick. Ignore him.

Father.

Mr. Song.

Sit. I'll go check on Master Liang.

The deal with Mr. Li is taken care of.

Quanwan is ours now.

It's only the beginning.

Soon, all of Rong City will be ours.

Let me introduce someone.

Liang Yi.

Let me introduce you.

My best friend, Lin Yun.

My wife-to-be, Liang Yi.

(Happiness)

Zhichu...

Zhichu...

Zhichu...

Zhichu...

It's you?

Think about it.

If Song Zhichu hadn't arranged this,

how would I be here?

This can't be true...

Wake up. Remember this.

Not a single man

in this world is trustworthy.

Take this knife as my wedding gift to you.

Song Zhichu,

how could you do this to me?

Father...

Father...

Father!

I had no intentions of killing you,

but you showed up here.

You're awake.

Song Zhichu.

Where's my father?

You saw it yourself, didn't you?

He's dead.

Song Zhichu,

what did the Liang family ever do to you?

The Liang family?

You think the Liang family's

high status

is something special?

I approached you

and courted you

for one reason, your family fortune.

What you thought was love

was a scheme I planned from the start.

That's my wife-to-be.

You're my friend.

You'll bed her for me tonight.

Your father thought he was righteous.

So I found the one man he despised most

to ruin his precious daughter.

Well?

Doesn't like make a fine plot?

I can have any woman I want.

But you?

Acting like a princess, barking orders at me every day.

You make me sick!

So...

You handed me over to another man

just to disgrace me?

You even killed my father?

All these years,

I've flattered you

and done everything you wanted,

waiting for this moment

to take full control of the Liang family.

You're a demon!

You'll pay for this!

You're too noisy.

You and your father were nothing but pieces on a board.

Goodbye,

my bride.

The finest mask in this world

(Liang Yi) is a living face.

(Xu Yin) To everyone, I'm Xu Yin.

But I'm also Liang Yi, the woman who crawled back

from the abyss.

Who are you?

Lin Yun,

it's me, Xu Yin.
