Previously on Ren.

Why are you afraid of him?

I'm not afraid of him. I just want you to be safe, that's all.

We are safe.

What's this?

Why would you bring a book into this house?

Do you have any idea what they would do if they found this here?

It's for your own good!

It's for your own good.

Who are you?

Get out of here!

Amari spirit.

It's found a new vessel.

Phew.

Strange.

Quiet, my friend, okay?

Listen, your sister just needs some rest. Some more of those men can't find

You understand?

Come with me.

What's happening something that's not happened in a long time

What happened?

Why are you staring at me like that?

You glowed.

What?

You glowed. And now you've got that.

What did you do to me?

Nothing. I didn't know what was in that thing.

Tell me, what's happened to me? What was in it?

Amari's spirit.

You're an Amari now.

The gods have cursed me.

I don't think the twins are to blame.

Get it out.

I can't.

Please. I wouldn't know how, but I do know you need to get out of here.

I can't leave. My family needs me. You're a marked one.

You can't go back to normal.

All the people you know will think you're evil.

Dangerous.

They will hunt you down.

You need to leave with me.

Now. Rem? Stay away from me, Vaynen.

Why?

Because he's right.

I'm Mark.

What have you done to her? I didn't do anything.

You get out of my house.

Go on.

Get out of here.

What have you done, Ren?

I'm sorry, but it wasn't my fault.

The Canards were trying to kill her, and I fell, and it broke, and now I'm

marked. What do I do?

You stay here.

I'll be back soon.

Rem?

Don't come in here, Banan.

Why?

You know the stories of the Marked Ones.

But you're not evil.

What if the spirit takes over? I don't want to hurt you, Banan.

You won't.

I know you won't.

I'm sorry I couldn't save your book.

Da's so stupid.

Da loves us.

He might not always show it, but he means well.

You won't go away, will you, Ren?

Bain and no matter what happens, we'll always find each other again.

Remember Nerith and Nardea.

They're apart, but still always together.

Here.

These pieces will be joined again one day.

Just like us.

I don't want you to leave.

I know.

Don't worry.

Dahl will find a way to help.

Just... wait and see.

I don't want to wait.

I don't take kindly to my men being mocked.

Take him to the keep.

He'll hang at sundown.

And if ever I see you let a civilian humiliate you again in public, what

to him will happen to you.

Yes, sir.

Nerith, goddess of the light, I beg you, please, Nerith, please, remove this

mark.

Please.

Da?
