I took a look at the
topographic map again

and it got me to thinking.

Now, without a water table
survey I can't know for sure,

but if you look at this curve
on the land right here,

this indicates that the spring
is likely somewhere here

on the government allotment
near Martha's property,

the water swelling out to create
this round side of the pond.

Yeah, that sounds right.

Yeah, but look at this side.

See, this area juts out too.

Now, I believe it could be
fed by a separate spring.

Where's that spring then?

Well that, I don't know,

but when I pulled the
latest water table records

from 50 years ago, mind you,

it shows an underground stream
right under Hamilton land.

There's a spring on my land?

I think there's at least
an underground river.

So you're saying that we could
have our own reservoir

where we don't have to
go near Martha's place

or the Newman's property?

I think it's worth
looking into, don't you?

We'd never have to pay
them another red cent.

to have housing on the ranch,

little worried about my mom.

She's been more tired than usual

living facility,

Working around-the-clock shift
work makes it impossible

that we're starting.

earth to renew itself,

not instantly, not all at once,
but in seasons.

The turning of the seasons,
spring, summer, fall, winter.

Plant in the spring,

protect and nurture in the
summer, harvest in the fall,

and rest in the
winter, right?

God's hand is in the
turning of the earth,

but his hand is also in the
turning of your life's seasons.

I was listening to my
father talk the other day,

and he mentioned
staying in your lane.

And on the surface, I thought
this was actually very limiting.

I felt like I was being
told to settle down,

to lose my ambition,

to give up on something
really important to me.

But in the Kingdom of God,

staying in your
lane means trusting.

It means listening.

It means being a faithful
steward of the seasons

so that you can be aware of
whatever season you're in

and make the best of it.

Because, what if you're so busy
dealing with the mosquitoes

in the air that you neglect the
weeds at your feet on the ground

going after your harvest?

No. We got to stay in
our lane, don't we, Dad?

We got to trust the seasons,

tend to the ground
beneath our feet.

So whether you are nurturing,
whether you're planting,

whether you're harvesting,
whether you're resting, trust.

Trust that God will make all
things beautiful in his time.

Well, we have a new doctor at
the clinic, which is great.

We definitely needed the help,

and she's got a
lot of experience.

But she kind of came in and
turned the whole clinic

upside down, reassigned all
of my patients, and, um,

now it looks like she's
going to be my boss.

wanted to be boss?

I at least wanted
to be considered.

It makes sense to me.

I mean, you took on all
this responsibility.

You doubled your
workload, right?

feeling like your efforts

aren't being valued

I have prayed every
day to have my family

all back together on the
ranch and getting along.
