Shiyue, what are you doing?

You self-righteous patriots,

coveting our Qin family's fortune,

fabricated lies about my father

betraying the nation,

and then hunted down my entire family.

Dai Shiyao,

this was all your doing.

Who told you that?

Robbery and murder are bandit tactics.

How are you different from them?

If you move again

and tear that wound,

no one could save you.

How will you avenge your father then?

I know everything.

You're the one

who took Qin's vault.

Plenty of people want me dead.

If their words were true,

why would they shoot at you?

You're being used.

Put the scissors down first.

So Clumsy.

I know

you want to clear

the Qin family's name.

Don't worry.

I'll help you with this.

Madam,

you're finally awake.

You've slept all day.

I'll go tell Young Marshal.

Why are you here?

What do you want?

Qin Shiyue,

you really are something.

For your family's so-called honor,

you nearly got my brother killed

and almost lost your own life.

I don't know what you mean.

Didn't you want my help?

I've decided.

I can agree.

I don't need it anymore.

You don't get to decide that.

You started this first.

The moment you drank that wine,

our deal was already in motion.

You do get what that means, right?

But if you cooperate properly with me,

your father's truth

will surface soon.

I'll say it one more time.

I don't need it anymore.

Your master is coming.

If you don't want him to shoot you dead,

you'd best stay away from me.

Shiyue.

Why are you here?

I came to report on Marshal Liu's matter.

I heard Miss Qin was injured.

So I came to visit.

Let Dr. Bai examine you

thoroughly again.

I have urgent business first.

You,

come with me.

You've crossed the line!

What line?

I told you

to stay away from her.

Brother, you've changed.

You never cared about women before.

You're truly enchanted by that girl.

None of your concern.

None of my concern?

There were never secrets between us.

No rifts either.

But since she showed up,

you've stopped trusting me.

When did I stop trusting you?

Then what are you afraid of?

Afraid I might hurt her?

I warned you to be wary of her.

Wasn't she the one who drew this danger?

The elders were right after all,

"Even heroes fall for beauty."

That's irrelevant.

Irrelevant?

You nearly attacked your own brother!

For 20 years, I've resolved matters for you.

Do you know how many families

and lives were involved?

You've gained the glory.

The dirty work? Am I worth less than a woman now?

Think about it carefully.

Jinxiu says you refuse medicine again.

It's the damp season now.

The wound has almost healed.

You still doubt me?

Look at me.

Look me in the eye.

Do you think I would lie to you?

Do you think that if I slaughtered your family,

I could sit here so calmly

with you?

Stay away from Sheng from now on.

Why?

Because you're my fiancee now.

I'm not.

It's my sister who is.

Why dredge up

the past?

Dai Shiyao,

humans aren't stone.

Some things aren't that easy to move past.

I've seen your letters to my sister.

It was full of tender longing.

She was sincere toward you, too.

But now you're facing her younger sister.

Don't you find that ironic?

If they were for your sister,

why do you remember them so clearly?

you'd deliberately talk loudly

with your sister,

acting so cheerful.

As for writing letters for her,

that was your own idea too, right?

Stay away from me.

Shiyue,

why is it that between the lines of those letters,

all I can see is your reflection?

I don't want to hear more.

Madam, that's a gunshot wound.

Madam,

there's something...

I don't know if I should say.

Since you've said that,

go ahead and say it.

I take care of Young Marshal every day.

I swear on my life

that he is a good man.

You can't truly know a person's heart.

Give it to me.

I stabbed you the other day.

Why aren't you mad?

You were having a nightmare.

Why haven't you yelled at me?

I used to have nightmares, too.

When I was 12,

my father taught me to kill.

He caught deserters and convicts

and locked them in the dungeon.

He forced me to aim a gun at them.

I couldn't see their faces.

Just the blood on the backs of their heads

was enough to show they'd been tortured.

My dad told me

this was a family tradition

passed down from our ancestors.

He said I was born to be a marshal,

and a marshal must learn to shoot.

I never agreed with that.

So, I had nightmares every night.

Later,

I stole a knife

and hid it under my pillow.

Every time I woke from a nightmare,

I'd swing the knife wildly.

Later,

my father took my mother

and me to a birthday feast,

and we were ambushed on the way.

Gunfire roared back and forth like thunder.

I looked at their faces.

I didn't even dare to pick up a gun.

But I've taken lives before.

I saw my father and mother

die horribly in front of me.

A bullet tore through my mother's belly.

One through my father's head.

Then I grabbed a gun and shot them.

It all happened within a minute.

If I'd made that choice one minute earlier,

maybe my parents would still be alive.

I looked at my father's body

and only then believed

maybe what he said was true.

If you want revenge,

you've got to be healthy.
