[To Love]

[Episode 40]

Because the patient's liver has been severely damaged,

excessive bleeding can lead to abdominal infection.

As of now, she is still under life-threatening conditions.

When will she wake up?

We are not sure.

Sorry.

I didn't watch her properly.

When I found her,

she was holding tightly onto this.

[Serve the people]

It was found in the ceiling of your restroom.

¥1,000,000 of dirty consecutive banknotes.

Zhan Yu's cellphone.

A knife with Zhan Yu's blood.

Tell us.

- How's Xiao'ou? - You have no right to talk about Ji Xiao'ou.

Didn't you love her?

How could you do something this ruthless to her?

Tell me.

How did you kill Zhan Yu on the night of New Year's Eve?

That day.

I overheard Old Huang and Yan Jin's conversation.

To hide this secret,

I had to kill them.

I knew Yan Jin was not an easy target.

So I had to carefully plan everything out.

I used the chance to deliver food to him,

to study the places where the cameras were installed.

I dug a hole ahead of time with the plan to put Yan Jin's body in there.

Even if people noticed that he disappeared,

after police's investigation,

Liu Wei and Xiao Meiren would be blamed for killing him secretly.

I took the poison and the wine from the storage room.

This was an easy task for me.

To make an alibi,

I invited Fang Niya to my house on the night of New Year's Eve,

and added sleeping pills into her yuzu tea./i>

To avoid proof of me going to Yan Jin's house,

I went through the blind areas to enter the emergency exit.

There, I hid a janitorial uniform in the trash can at the garage.

At first, everything was going according to plan.

But I never thought

that Zhan Yu would suddenly go to see Yan Jin that night.

Brother, are you there?

You're finally willing to see me.

I know you are very mad.

You can hit me. Hit me as hard as you want.

Hit you? It will dirty my hands. Get out.

Get out.

Zhan Yu's appearance ruined my plan.

To be safe, I was about to give up.

Brother Feng, what are you doing here?

I...

I'm here to visit Yan Jin but I heard that you two were arguing.

So... I was waiting here.

Zhan Yu, what's wrong? What's wrong?

What happened?

Tell me.

I let Yan Jin down. I let him down.

I let Sister Xiao'ou down even more.

What nonsense are you saying?

What exactly happened?

I'm not what you guys think I am.

I'm a beast.

I betrayed even my savior.

Zhan Yu, I don't know what happened.

People are not afraid of mistakes. You are a good man as long as you are willing to repent.

You are still young. You can't just give up yourself.

I'm hopeless, Brother Feng.

I'm a drug criminal.

It's the kind that can get a death sentence.

To save me, Yan Jin asked me to be a police informant.

And I? I ended up betraying him.

I made him addicted to drugs.

I should've died.

What did you say?

Yan Jin is a cop?

- What are you doing?! - Let me drink.

He will never believe me again.

No one will believe me ever again.

Zhan Yu, come with me. Let's go.

ZhanYu, come with me.

Brother Feng, I beg you.

Can you help me beg Brother Yan Jin?

You are his big brother. He'll listen to you.

I beg you.

Zhan Yu, listen to me.

You need to keep this matter of Yan Jin confidential. I can't go with you.

Otherwise, it will get worse. Understand?

What is it? Come. Leave with me.

Let's go. I'll take you to the hospital.

- Let's go. - There's something wrong with the liquor.

You're not here for Yan Jin.

You. You are...

Yan Jin!

Yan—

He was already dead.

I could only go on with the plan and take the body out.

Right when I was searching through his body, I found Yan Jin's lighter in his pocket.

It was this lighter that led me to wanting to frame him.

Even if Yan Jin lived in a luxurious community,

the security system was still useless.

The janitorial staff used the side gates to take out the trash.

The security would never check identities.

I hurried home, adjusted the clocks,

found the countdown show through the online streaming platform.

I rewound it to the corresponding time.

Niya. Niya.

You must be hungry. Drink some porridge.

I knew that just a lighter could not easily frame Yan Jin.

So I must continue to make more evidence that would point to Yan Jin.

So I must make this case as big as possible.

The second day, I went to the place where I buried Zhan Yu.

To have the police find the body faster

and have Yan Jin as the prime suspect,

I purposely put the bag of body parts with Yan Jin's lighter

into the community's trash cans.

Sun Jiayu.

Under what circumstances did you kill him?

On the day of the mission,

I was following Deng Kun.

I was planning to kill Deng Kun right there,

so I could get rid of the suffering.

After I saw Yan Jin get shot by Deng Kun,

I thought Yan Jin was already dead.

- Who? - It's me.

Don't fire.

Brother Kun, it's me.

You just came now? Why didn't you tell me about this operation?

Be careful.

Right when I was about to leave,

Sun Jiayu woke up.

To hide my identity, I had to...

At the time, my right arm was heavily injured.

I did use my left hand to hold the gun.

Old Huang was not mistaken.

What else do you want to say?

I want to see Yan Jin.

- Chief. - I heard the whole interrogation.

You've worked hard.

Do you want to see him?

[Strict Law Enforcement]

[Jail]

What did the doctor say?

Just like before,

no news is good news.

In Zhan Yu's cellphone, we found some videos.

There's a video of him recording a message to Xiao'ou.

Do you want to see it?

Thank you.

I met that sister again.

Her name is Ji Xiao'ou, Doctor Ji's daughter.

This world is so small.

She didn't blame me for leaving without telling her, instead she offered me a job.

Seems like she really wants to help me.

Should I go? I actually don't have time to have a second job.

♫ From the very first time ♫

♫ With all the memories to love ♫

A lot has happened recently.

Sister Xiao'ou's cafe has been destroyed.

Yan Jin is Cheng Ruimin's people.

He knew about me a long time ago.

Let's hope that I don't die too early.

Sister Xiao'ou, I'm sorry I lied to you.

I'm not who you think I am.

But I've decided.

Once mom's condition is better, I'll turn myself in.

If I correct my mistakes, it'll be a new start. I'm not going to give up.

I hope that you and Yan Jin can get together soon.

You have to be happy.

Xiao Yu, it's time to eat.

What do you mean by that?

I plan to take the two kids to see snow.

So I'm going to leave the cafe to you for these days.

Not a problem. How are the kids?

They are great. Look.

Huan Huan is chubby; so cute.

You can tell she has potential, right?

That's a must.

I'm going to leave. See you after New Year.

Welcome to Flowing Thoughts Cafe, what would you like to drink?

- Get me a cup of Coke. - Yirgacheffe.

Okay. What would you like to eat?

Is there a need to ask?

Let me cook.

Okay. I'll go make the drinks.

You are really something. You eat this every three days.

I like this flavor now.

My wife and I went to check up on Yan Shen in the afternoon. She's pretty good.

Yeah, she's gone a whole size up.

You must tell her to go on a diet the next time you see her.

You guys don't drink with me.

I can't drink.

It's not like you don't know our rules.

What are you working on lately?

A new case. We have to go out every so often.

Is this case hard?

Let us help you think about it.

Stop. Just stay put.

You're not afraid that you'll get into trouble again?

If you really treat me as an outsider,

then from now on, if you two come for coffee,

you must pay. Double.

If your coffee

was as good as Xiao'ou's, I'd be willing to pay double.

You are just jealous that I'm the owner of Flowing Thoughts Cafe.

Don't be too happy. If I didn't let go then,

do you think you would be here today?

This is what we call fate.

You have to admit it.

Are you guys done?

Xiao'ou probably has never thought

that there would be a day the three of us would sit here together.

Since there are no customers,

we're chatting away and the mood is so good.

Why don't you sing?

You sure about that?

Xiao'ou said my singing can kill someone.

It's okay. Our lives are tough. Just sing.

Just sing the song that Xiao'ou likes the most.

Come on.

Hurry.

- Sing. - Why are you embarrassed?
