[To Love]

[Episode 24]

Right, good, hit that one!

- Hit it! - Just look at the two of you, playing.

Come, Hao Hao.

Don't buy him stuff this expensive in the future. You're going to spoil him.

Only a kid at his age can play freely. Zhou Shuang.

Look how good the game consoles are nowadays, you can even watch movies.

In the future, you and Old Cheng can be romantic at home.

Psh, romantic. As soon as he's discharged from the hospital, we won't be able to see him again.

- Yay! I passed the stage! - Good job, Hao Hao.

Thank you godfather!

Remember, only play 30 minutes at most every time, got it?

- Ok, I'll definitely behave! - Oof!

Hey, Hao Hao, be careful, your godfather's waist isn't healed yet.

No problem, no problem. I haven't seen my godson this whole year, come!

Let your godfather hug a bit longer. Come.

You and Xiao'ou should hurry up and have a big chubby son.

- I would like a big chubby daughter too.- Sure.

Then Godfather, you should just stay here. I want you to tell me stories.

Hao Hao, stop fussing, let's come sleep with mom.

I just want to sleep with godfather. Godfather can tell me a lot of interesting

stories that dad never tells me.

Come, godfather will tell you stories.

- Which one do you want to listen to? The little lion, is that ok? - Yeah.

The little lion was quite overbearing.

Everyone was afraid of him. The little rabbit was afraid too.

- You're back. - Yeah.

Have you eaten? I can make you a bowl of noodles.

No need, I'm not hungry. He fell asleep?

Come, drink some water.

Don't be depressed. They can run this time but not forever.

Liu Wei really is ruthless.

The local police brought our people rushing into his underground workshop.

He threw a grenade and ran away from his secret tunnel.

Were the casualties bad?

One dead, two seriously injured.

Xiao Hu, the one who died, just got married last year.

His wife is expecting next month.

I just came back from their home.

Looking at Xiao Hu's parents and wife,

I didn't even know how to tell them.

Does Zhao Tinghui know?

He's already been notified.

Captain Wu spent 10 years capturing Dong Kun.

Don't know how many years I'll take to capture Liu Wei.

Now I know how helpless Captain Wu felt.

Every case has its own fate.

God wouldn't be letting us waste our efforts every time,

and also won't let Liu Wei be so lucky every time.

Sooner or later, we'll catch him.

Go sleep early.

Get into the car.

You've looked so many times already, still haven't seen enough?

My own wife,

I can look at however I want.

Who's your wife?

My mom hasn't agreed yet.

Looks like I should still go learn from Old Feng.

"The rice has already been cooked". (T/N : means what's done is done. Here implies he got Fang Niya pregnant. )

Even if your mom doesn't agree, she has to agree.

Looking at your condition now, do you think it'll work?

Hey.

Whether it'll work or not, let's test it upstairs.

Enough!

Leave it. In the future, you're not allowed to do these kinds of hand-injuring work.

I'll do it all.

Don't you claim you're so incredible?

Besides this trick you don't have anything else?

To be honest,

I'm actually a little scared of your mom.

But mother-in-law doing this, is for your good. I understand.

In this world, there's still something you're scared of? That's not easy.

Marriage is a big event.

It must have both sets of parents' approval.

We can take the time to prepare our wedding ceremony, but the exact wedding date

must be approved by Mother-in-law.

This way, in the future,

our two families can get along.

Yeah. But my mom is very stubborn, what do we do?

Looks like I need to coax her for it to work.

I can only rely on this.

When are you going to fix your problem of showing off?

I know what to do.

My wife is awesome.

Fine. I'll go wrap a bouquet of flowers for our mom first.

Forget it. What sense of beauty do you have?

Ma'am, is this pressure good?

It's good.

A little more pressure is fine.

Mom, does it feel good?

At the most high-end spa, enjoying the most high-end beauty treatment,

could it not feel good?

If you like it, I'll get you a membership. You can come whenever you'd like.

I don't take rewards without working for them.

Who knows what kind of medicine you're selling in your flask.(T/N: What have you got up your sleeve?)

You carried me for 10 months, then gave birth to me,

and worked hard to raise me. That's not enough work?

Is it my mistake for being nice to my mom?

I'll be able to live ten years longer if you make me mad a couple times less.

I guess I'll just give the card to my dad.

I might as well take it.

There's no way to save your dad's old face.

Sure.

Hello, please do a quick check.

- Steamed sea bass, please enjoy. - Thank you.

Here, Mom. We rarely get to spend time with just the two of us.

Thank you for everything you've done for me the last 20 years.

This glass I toast to you.

Xiao'ou.

I appreciate your filial piety.

You're not young anymore. Let's have a good chat.

You and Yan Jin have been through a lot together.

I know that.

But you two have only known each other for a year,

your backgrounds and living environments

are different.

You're not worried that he might not be reliable because he is rich?

I really wonder.

Your father has so many young doctors in his department,

how come you didn't like any one of them?

Okay. I'll find a doctor then.

Then I'll go to the hospital to work too. Our whole family can live at the hospital.

Mom, Yan Jin is a businessman now.

But he was a police officer before. His father was also a soldier.

He grew up in a strict household. He is even more upright than me.

He's definitely reliable.

Sure, sometimes he talks glibly,

and he doesn't sound serious.

But he is handsome and has a good body.

There's only one Yan Jin in all of China

and he's mine.

Are you even still my daughter?

I'm being serious, can you stop joking around?

Weren't you quite welcoming when he came to the house with me back then?

Back then when you brought him to the house,

weren't you also cold towards him?

Mom, you are the most understanding person in our family.

I know that all your worry is for my best interests.

But whether Yan Jin is good enough for me or not,

don't you have to meet him, get to know him, to find out?

You have to give him a chance to visit you.

If then you think that he's got this problem or that,

I won't need you to say anything, I'll dump him myself.

Give me your hand.

You're sure

you really love him?

I'm sure.

We'll see after I meet him this weekend.

Mom. You're agreeing to it?

Mom. You're the best mom in the world.

Eat up. Eat this big shrimp.

[Sika Deer Antler]

Are you coming to see my mom or setting up a street stall in our house?

This is my first time coming to your house as a future son-in-law, I have to make a good impression.

Gifts don't have to be expensive, they have to come from the heart.

Not only my heart, but also my liver, spleen, pancreas and kidneys.

Ms Zhao Yangmin is going through her menopause phase.

She might come up with some bad ideas and tricks.

If she disses you, you have to hold it in.

Don't worry about it, there's no such thing as an impossible mission.

Tonight, I'll treat your home as the enemy's military headquarters.

I'll definitely bring it down in attack.

- Dad. You two talk. - Okay.

Here, Xiao Yan. Drink some tea.

- Thank you, Uncle. - Just coming to see us is enough,

you didn't have to buy such expensive gifts.

No more, next time.

Mom, I finally was able to bring Yan Jin here,

- this is what you're making? - What's wrong with broccoli?

Good for preventing cancer.

Are you going to suffer by eating this?

- Time to eat. - Let's eat!

Let's eat.

Xiao Yan came to visit us, you can't serve him a table of vegetables.

You two wild ones really are blood related. What's wrong with eating vegetables?

Eating vegetarian is good for your health. Help detox and make you more beautiful. Let's sit.

Uncle, sit.

Well you can't give him last night's fried rice!

What's wrong with last night's fried rice?

It's fine to keep overnight. It's a waste if you don't eat it.

If he was really family, he wouldn't care about this.

Young lad, what do you say?

- It's great. - Dad, Yan Jin, let's go out to eat.

- Unacceptable bullying. - Xiao'ou.

Uncle, sit. Sit.

Aunt is right.

Even though we can live comfortable lives now,

we should still persevere to maintain a simple, hardworking lifestyle.

As long as a family sits together in harmony to eat meals,

leftover food is still a feast.

But Aunt, there might not be enough for the four of us to eat.

If you don't mind, I'll go cook a couple more dishes.

It's enough. It's enough.

What? What are you looking at me for?

♫ Whack it ♫

It tastes great. Yamin, try it. It's just like the restaurants'.

It's not bad. I thought you wouldn't even know how to make instant noodles.

My parents used to be really busy at the military when I was little.

I grew up cooking for my little sister.

Don't look at her now, skinny as a toothpick.

She used to be fat because I fed her so well.

Before, I was in the squad's kitchen crew for half a year.

Pan fried, stir fried, stew, deep fried, baked, boil,

I know a little of each. Otherwise, how could I open a restaurant?

I have to thank Uncle and Aunt for giving birth to such an amazing daughter.

To allow me to meet her.

In the future, if you two want to eat

my dishes, I can come every day to cook for you.

As long as you don't mind, you guys can decide whatever dishes you want to eat.

That's great. Xiao'ou told us

that you know everything.

Maybe just a little bit of everything.

If you're so skilled, then in a little bit

help me wash the balcony windows.

No problem, Mom.

Aunt. I mean Aunt.

- Let's eat. - Eat up.

♫ Take my hand in your hand ♫

♫ So I get to know all about you ♫

♫ Take me to the other side ♫

♫ I have you in my head round and round ♫

♫ There is no more to hold and ♫

♫ we can’t help but fall in love again, ♫

The celery I got today was so cheap.

- How much?- ¥1.3 per kg.- That's cheap.

- Mom. I'll help you. - Oh, this is your son-in-law?

- Yes, that's me. - How handsome.

- Here, Aunties. I'll help you carry them.- Thank you.

Your son-in-law is great.

Lift it inside. Over here.

Keep going forward.

This massage chair takes up too much space!

- You— - Okay, right there. Aunt, try it out.

- This must have cost you a lot of money. - Sit.

- Xiao Yan. - Uncle.

- This massage chair— - Come here, Uncle. Come try it out.

- Here. Try it out. - Alright, I'll try it.

Don't sit.

- Sit. - Don't sit.

- Why are you like this? - I'll plug it in.

♫ I'm trying ♫

Wow, this can adjust the height.

Try this, Xiao Yan's friend brought this back from Sanya.

A whole box.

It is really sweet.

Then eat up.

I can see that Xiao Yan is very enthusiastic.

These couple of days, from top to bottom, inside and outside the house, there really is nothing he doesn't know how to do.

Xiao'ou getting married to him will definitely lead to a happy life.

I think you've had enough.

Don't keep messing with him anymore.

It's only been a few days. You're already done testing him?

A lifetime is a long time,

we have to test him thoroughly.

I could tell from way earlier.

Xiao Yan really is pretty good.

Both he and Xiao'ou have stubborn personalities,

both strong people. For them to spend the rest of their lives together,

there must be one who gives way to the other.

If he can tolerate

all my tests in the next two days,

then however Xiao'ou messes with him in the future, he'll be able to take it.

I'll listen to you. Everything you say is right.

- You can't go wrong listening to me. - Alrighty.

Move aside a little.

- Here, take this. - Okay.

I finally can be on the same page as our mother.

Shouldn't you strike while the iron's hot, win her over?

Didn't you to say to not hurry, to do this slowly?

Don't remind me.

My dad, my mom, and also that second mom Yan Shen press me every day, asking me when I can take them

to go and see your parents, and to talk about marriage.

I got excited, and said within three days.

Three days? When will you change your habit of boasting?

I'll change it, I definitely will. But I've already boasted.

Shouldn't you help me out?

I can't guarantee that my mom will agree within three days.

How about this? These days,

you should go to your parent's house.

Treat the queen mother well.

While you're at it, play an ultimate move or something.

Maybe we'll sort it out in three days.

Play an ultimate move? With Queen Mother's attitude right now,

even if i employ some small tactic she isn't interested.

You're her daughter. If you're happy,

she will be powerless.

Then, I should go home and pretend to be happy?

You don't need to pretend.

We should, in front of your mom, video call and talk.

Let her know how sweet and sappy we are, and maybe this matter

won't even take three days at all.

Then I'll go home and be super happy?

Sure. Super happy.

Why are you so happy?

Your future son-in-law is real funny when he talks, do you want me to read you some?

Give me a break.

You're really not going back to the store today?

Nope, your son-in-law says he'll oversee the store, to let me spend good time with you. Isn't he thoughtful?

But you're not spending time with us.

You're still texting him.

A mouth full of "my son-in-law"

You can't live without him, huh?

Now I finally understand

what losing oneself because of love is.

He's video calling.

Dear, where are you, I miss you so much!

Old Ji, I want to sauté a plate of goosebumps! Geez I really can't stand this.

Hello?

Yan Jin, long time no see.

Recently business at the restaurant has not been bad.

Liu Wei, you're finally willing to come back.

You don't even know

how much I miss you.

What a coincidence, I kinda miss you too.

What about, the two of us have a meetup?

In one hour, meet at the seafood company.

That place has been barred for investigation. Come to 1/3 Seafood Restaurant instead.

During this time that I haven't been here,

your life has experienced a lot of changes.

If you want your family members to be safe and sound,

then follow the rules.

Wait for me. I'll be there right away.

Hey, Yan Jin.

Liu Wei's appeared.

- He contacted you? - Yes

He's arranged to meet me In one hour, at Xiao Meiren's seafood company.

You can't go. He's obviously coming at you.

I have to go.

This might be the only chance to catch him.

Hurry and bring people to provide assistance nearby the seafood company.

But only I can show my face.

Make sure to not alert the enemy.

No wait, where are you right now?

I'm already on the way. Hurry up.

Hello.

Liu Wei showed up.

Hello, wife?

Let me tell you, the plan worked.

Queen Mother has issued an imperial edict, telling you to come over for dinner.

Come earlier tonight. Help my mom cook.

We're eating dinner tonight? I'm afraid I can't make it.

What's wrong? Did something happen?

There's something important at the restaurant.

Otherwise, let's change it to tomorrow, does that work?

Is work more important or are our marital issues more important?

Zhao Yamin personally cooking for you

is a one time opportunity.

If you flake on her,

us two are doomed.

My wife, it really is something important I have to do.

Right now, it's not convenient to talk with you. When I see you I'll definitely give you an update.

You're not... off investigating a case are you?

Nothing of the sort.

Wife, please show some understanding.

Just change the time to tomorrow.

I'm going to hang up now.

[Seized by Liyuan Police]

Yan Jin should have arrived.

[Yan Jin]

He's calling.

Hey.

Hey Old Cheng, I'm at the seafood company.

But Liu Wei hasn't appeared yet.

I'm thinking...

could he have an ulterior motive?

A different goal in mind?

Shoot, we've fallen into a trap!

What do you mean?

A couple days ago, there was a car that kept following me.

Even followed me to Xiao'ou's place.

That person should be Liu Wei.

Liu Wei was following you?

I was careless.

I thought it was Zhao Tinghui's men.

Liu Wei wouldn't walk right into a trap.

He arranged to meet me alone, he must have some other scheme.

He must want to lure the tiger out of the mountain, leading me away.

His actual goal is to go to Xiao'ou's house for revenge.

Or to save Xiao Meiren.

Yan Jin, Xiao Meiren was already executed this morning.

I suspect he already went to Xiao'ou's house.

Hurry and send people over.

Hurry.

You take Group B and stay at the seafood company.

If Liu Wei appears, report back to me right away.

Attention, the plan has changed.

I invite him to dinner

yet he gets to pick the time. So interesting.

Xiao'ou, call him immediately.

Tell him not to come tomorrow.

Not serving him.

Didn't Xiao Yan say he's busy?

Can't you be accommodating for a bit?

Exactly. It's just a meal, it's the same any day, isn't it?

Don't take it so serious, ok?

- Hello? - Where are you?

At home.

Queen Mother is currently upset at you. I'm placating her.

After I've dealt with my stuff,

I'll try my best to go home and eat dinner.

What, now you can make it to dinner again?

Are you playing with a silly girl?

You are pretty silly, but it's cute.

Alright. Let's just go with this now.

Long time no see, Yan Jin.

You came sooner than I predicted.

What exactly do you want?

You're a smart guy.

What I want to do,

you should be very clear about.

- Which floor does Xiao'ou's family live on? - The 14th floor.

Office Cheng,

you are tough.

You didn't die even hitting you that hard.

Liu Wei, I urge you to stop all your lawless activities.

You police only know how to say this one sentence.

Is there anyone who actually listens to that? Yan Jin and I are on the rooftop of Ji Xiao'ou's apartment building.

Long time no see.

Let's get together and talk about old times.

- Notify the SWAT team to come and provide assistance.- Yes.

Isn't it just chatting about old times?

Why make it into such a big ordeal?

Yan Jin,

the two of us should count as friends having survived death together.

You're about to get married.

In any case I should come visit the bride.

We are now interrupting with a newsflash.

On April 26th, the city's Intermediate People's Court

in accordance with the law, has issued against the drug lord of Liyuan's "1.03" Super Drug Case,

Yang Meigui, the highest degree of punishment authorized by the People's Court, a death penalty ruling,

and was escorted to the execution ground and executed via firing squad.

The 39-year-old Yang Meigui, nickname Xiao Meiren,

was the leader of a gangster group.

Look, that female drug lord is executed.

Xiao'ou, it's the ringleader of that drug trafficking organization

from when Yan Jin was undercover.

... using a seafood company and entertainment venue as a front

for drug production, peddling, and transportation.

- Deputy Chief Lin.- Deputy Chief Lin.

What's the situation right now?

Yan Jin is being held under duress by Liu Wei on the rooftop.

Does the offender possess any weapons?

We're unable to confirm that yet.

There's an incoming phone call.

- Liu Wei. - Officer Cheng,

It looks like you're all here. Why don't you hurry and get up here?

Remember. Only one person can come.

Ok. You wait.

Chief Lin, I'm going to head up.

Make sure to pay attention to safety. Report the situation whenever you can.

Understood.

How about I go with you?

- Be careful. - Be careful, Boss.

Snipers, positions.

Yes, Chief Lin!

What's going on? What's happening?

Yan Jin is held by Liu Wei. Liu Wei has a gun.

Look for good timing. Do not rashly take action.

Understood.

- Liu Wei. - All right, Officer Cheng.

Don't stand too close to me.

Put the gun down.

Put it down!

Throw it farther away.

Liu Wei calm down.

Yan Jin acting as a mole was my arrangement.

If you want revenge, come at me.

I actually have something I'd like to bother Officer Cheng with.

If you have any demands go ahead and say it.

Within two hours,

bring Xiao Mei here safely.

Then prepare a fully fueled

car for us to safely leave Liyuan.

If you can fulfill these conditions of mine,

I guarantee I won't touch your brother,

or a hair of that woman of his.

Number one in position.

Number two in position.

Number three in position.

Can you see the target?

Number one has no line of sight.

Number two has no line of sight.

Number three can only see Yan Jin.

Yan Jin and obstacles are blocking the snipers' line of sight.

At present there is no way to kill Liu Wei. Plan a way for Yan Jin

to draw him within firing range so that the snipers can shoot him.

So, Officer Cheng,

have you thought it through?

Talk.

Liu Wei, you're already surrounded by the police.

Instead of wasting your effort here like this,

you might as well surrender earlier.

Maybe Old Cheng

will let you see Xiao Meiren once alive.

You f*cking still have the nerve to say that.

Xiao Mei treated you so well yet you harmed her.

You f*cking think you were fair to her?

A drug dealer, what's there to be fair to her about?

You haven't been a drug cop since f*cking long ago!

Let me tell you, a cop for a day is a cop for life.

Drugs cause people harm.

My best brother died because of drugs.

In this lifetime of mine,

I just can't get along with you group of drug traffickers.

Catch one if there's one, catch everyone if there's a whole den!

Liu Wei!

Whether or not he comes,

I still have to prepare the dishes for your Young Master Yan.

Mom,

can you not keep acting immaturely like a kid?

Yan Jin really has work today that he's busy with.

Don't be a hindrance. Or, you can take care of the vegetables.

Officer Cheng.

Can you fulfill my conditions?

Liu Wei!

Yes.

I'll send people to escort Xiao Meiren over right now.

But you also have to promise me a condition.

Leave the rooftop, and don't harm the innocent.

Innocent? Him,

and his woman, which one of you f*cking people are innocent?

If it weren't for you group of people,

would Xiao Mei and I fall to this point?

Liu Wei, you really just are a rabid dog.

Today I'll definitely have to capture you,

even if it's a life for a life.

Yan Jin, you're wrong.

I am just one life.

But you guys aren't.

Liu Wei, you got a fake box like this,

who are you scaring?

Do you want to try?

Liu Wei has prepared a bomb on the rooftop.

it looks like a C4.

- Quick, alert the bomb disposal unit. - Yes sir.

Carry out a full evacuation of these two buildings.

Yes sir.

Xiao'ou, open the door!

- Who is it?- Open the door, this is Zhao Tinghui!

Hurry up and open the door!

- Huh, why isn't it opening? - Xiao'ou!

- Xiao'ou! - What's going on?

- Xiao'ou, - What's the matter?

There's a bomb on the rooftop. You need to evacuate immediately.

Quick, open the door!
