in pretty much suburbia.

to be annoyed

but I have all the reasons
of why they can shove it.

living on the farm?"

I said, I don't.

It's nothing but trash.

I'm just a little old lady
that feeds cats.

I've been having
an ongoing dispute

with my neighbor Marice.

Every day, I see cats.

I ain't never seen
so many cats in my life.

They eatin' right there
and they chillin' right here.

It's just all cat poop
under me.

I'm not breaking any rules.

I'm allowed
to feed the cats.

He doesn't
understand cats.

He's still bringing more stuff
in every day.

-[wood clattering]

I'm not gonna lay down

I wrote that first article,

mainly because Darrell
had come to multiple

Howard County
commissioner meetings.

on this property,"

and I don't know how many
more animals he keeps adding...

Yeah, we're gonna get
everybody's attention

with something like this.

Currently, I'm trying
to settle a dispute

that my neighbors
Bruce and Darrell have with me.

We've just been neighbors.
We've just been people

who live next to each other
and not had any problems

until they decided
to have problems with me

about my lifestyle.

Every morning when I come out
to get my newspaper,

it's like I got to put
my hand over my nose,

and reach down
to get the newspaper.

The smell
is overpowering.

He came over, he said,
"Do you have a problem?"
I said,

"Yes, I've got a problem.

I don't like living on a farm."

I wouldn't call it a farm.

It's not some big, huge thing.

I would call this
my homestead.

I feel like the things that
I'm doing on my property

will be able to provide
for me and my family.

We've already
faced a pandemic.

You never know
what's to come.

I entered my third trimester
yesterday.

Twenty-eight weeks, that's when
you have to get the test.

I'm excited to become a mom,

but I'm afraid to get 'em out.

[chuckles]
That's the scary part.

How did they find out
if you were pregnant or not
in your time?

They'd shoot your urine
into a rabbit,

and if it died,
then you were pregnant.

[Trever]
This is my grandmother,

the person that I care about
most in this world.

-[fence thumping]

She always has had
a very nice place.

I think he's gone
through her money.

He's always used her
to get what he wanted.

She's not the same
person anymore.

I had people calling me
wondering, you know,

if I'd moved,

mentally, was I still okay?

They don't understand.

I believe, in their eyes,

he's a dumb, young man that
doesn't know what he's doing,

and taking advantage of me,
which he is not.

I'm trying to go
the easiest route possible

and file
for a special exemption.

If anybody says anything
in the future, like,

"Nope. Look, I have
a special exemption.

-I'm allowed to do this."
-[pig snorting]

[Darrell]
He's going in for a hearing

to try to get it rezoned.

If Trever
wins this rezoning,

I don't know what
the next step is.

All I know is we are gonna fight
to get rid of this farm.

They're either going
to accept it,

-or move.
-[Judy and goat bleating]

It's that simple.

when we purchased this house--

first property we ever bought.

As the weather changed,

we got to see
the multitude of cats.

[Marice] I didn't know that
Jean was housing them.

She got shelter for 'em
in the front and back.

Right here,
inside this tent,

this is a cat hotel.

I told Marice when he was first
looking at this house,

that-- that there was
these cats here.

And you could see the shelters.
They were here.

It was plain here on the lawn.
You couldn't miss it.

I said, "Ma'am,
we just moved here,

got a newborn,
and everything."

I just don't want the cats
on my property at all.

[Jean] I'm known as
a cat lady on this block.

-People know me around here.
-[mewling]

Jean and the cats

been here for a while.

Since probably I was
about eight years old.

She's the neighborhood cat lady.

That's where
she feeds them at.

Yeah, I can smell
the cat shit now.

[Amala]
The smells is atrocious.

The poop is another level.

It's worse once
I cut the grass.

Open up the door and woosh.

Mommy! Mommy!
Poop and crap.

-Really?
-[Marice] Whoa.

One day, he was out there
cutting his lawn

and he started to go berserk
and he picked up the cat house,

and he threw it
across the street.

He was banging this
like this.

And it's really destroyed.

There's no recovering that.

That was Butters' house.

Fifteen years, I fed her.

It's been very sad for Butters.

And I don't really know

how I'm gonna get her
through winter this year.

What he destroyed was worth
approximately about $1,000.

[Marice] I was just trying
to get the cats out of my yard.

Them boards are sturdy.

Well, she filed
a-- a lawsuit against me.

I tried to file
criminal charges,

but they wouldn't
let me do that.

So, I ended up
doing the civil suit.

And that's-- that's
where we are now.

We're in the middle
of the civil suit.

This is what she said
the board and tarps was.

This is what she's
suing me for, $900.

All it is is a piece of board.

-[cats meowing]
-Look, this all it is.

This house means everything
to me and my family.

My daughter's four
going on five.

She ain't been able
to play the yard yet.

She's never been able
to enjoy her front yard.

Shouldn't be
living like that.

[Jean] Right now,
there's nine cats.

He's freaking out
about nine cats.

If I win the settlement?

There would be
500 cats out there.

I got a order of feed
to pick up.

I haven't seen you

I moved out for a while,
but I still live with Grandma.

This is where I lived
and grew up

pretty much my whole life.

So, I didn't grow up
on a farm.

Like, I changed it into one

because I wanted to create
something for my family.

I'm here now, like,
that past life that was here

is now up here.

Like, this is
more fulfilling in life

than, you know,
pleasures of the body.

-After high school,

I went to work
and got a job

and stayed living
in the home for a while.

I felt kinda stagnant
in my life, just living at home.

Met a new girl and started
to pursue this new relationship.

We were together
for three or four years.

-And...

And... she did OnlyFans
and stuff like that.

I pursued that life with her
a little bit, and...

-The really fun parts of it

was like going on vacation
all the time,

big, giant yacht parties
in Miami.

then like going downstairs

that's a disturbance,

People have a near-death
or an out-of-body experience,

it brings people closer
to their spirituality.

That's what happened to me.
I became closer to Christ.

I had pneumonia.

And I was in a hospital for,

I don't know, a week or so.

I was sure that I was dead.

And then, suddenly,
I popped my eyes open.

In the room, there was
this angelic figure.

And it pulled me up
out of my body.

I would visit
ancient civilizations.

And they threw me back,
and I hit my body again.

And I got up and he said,
"We're not finished."

It changed me.

Once you figure out that

the spiritual world is real,

you wanna shout it
from the rooftops.

You wanna tell everybody.
That's what this is about,

I really wanna tell everybody.

This is my-- my office

where all the magic happens,

where I write
my screenplays.

I won all these awards

for this Desposyni script.

And I'm so proud of them
that I hung them all over.

I want to now begin to shift
my focus from this project

over to this project,
The Missing 18 Years.

Because there's a big chunk
of the life of Christ

that's missing.

I would love Mel Gibson

to be the director on this

because I think he's done
a fabulous job

with the stories of Jesus.

And I don't care about
his reputation in Hollywood.

If I get out to Hollywood,
they're gonna hate me, too.

This is who we're trying to get
"The 18 Missing Years" to him.

'Cause Paul Ruffman is
not only a film producer,

but, you know, he's
associated with Mel Gibson.

We're really hoping to get
this project in front of him.

I have a manager,
Fredric Schwartz,

and he also is the owner
of the Quantum Healing center.

You know, I really wanted
to help her to move her project

from script to screen.

And we've been
kind of navigating

and charting
those waters ever since.

You know, I want to be
as supportive of-- as possible

with Fredric.
He's been supporting me

through all my film endeavors.

And I'm gonna
volunteer some time

to see clients
in the system.

is one of the people
who may be hating on me.

She don't want to see,

This whole situation
is stressing the hell out of me,

just wondering what
he's gonna do next.

He's very unpredictable.

If my husband wasn't dead,
he'd go over there

and kick his ass.

I don't have any option.

I have to rely on the, uh,
the court system.

I'm asking for
a special exemption

to be able
to raise farm animals.

I would say that what I have
is a private farm.

I'm not selling things

If I lived in town
and my limit was

to only be able to have
a certain number of chickens,

then that's what I would do.

I don't live in town.

I live outside of town
in a rural residential area

or a special exemption.

and I've lived with her
most of my life.

right alongside with me today.

Yes, I am. I agree with

I have a garden
and these animals,

and I'm just trying to work hard
and provide for my family.

I'm not trying to step
on anybody's toes.

Or, you know, nobody's really
come to ask me any questions,

any of the neighbors
that have complaints.

put together a jigsaw puzzle?

It looks pretty messy
when you start out,

but it looks like a beautiful
