NARRATOR: Previously... Welcome home!

..the homestays saw some lock in plans for their lives

beyond the experiment.

I'm open to moving now.

You've got everything that I want in a partner.

STELLA: But I got my reassurances.

We are coming out stronger.

Steven stepped up, giving Rachel reassurance for their future.

What I see is a life outside experiment.

(COW MOOS)

After a tense few days on the farm, Sam and Chris made a shock decision.

I can't see this working.

It's all good. It is what it is.

It's not how I envisioned it would end.

I really thought Chris would fight for me a bit.

If you want to have a family,

you don't want to keep putting it off.

Following advice from her mother, Alissa began to spiral...

I'm just getting a bit overwhelmed with what I have at stake here

and what I could potentially be walking away from.

..leaving David disheartened.

DAVID: The way Alissa is handling the situation,

it is making me uneasy.

Tonight...

DAVID: Throughout this experiment, I have been patient.

But when you're dealing with the mum, the family, friends,

they all said that I'm a great guy for her

and she still sees negatives,

there's nothing else I can do.

..has David reached his limit?

That's the first time I've ever heard you say that you need space.

You never say 'space'. (GLASS TINKLES)

It's the second-last dinner party of the experiment.

I can see we can do life together and I feel a bit more confident now

that we can take this out onto the outside.

Have Rachel and Steven become this year's new power couple?

Who would've thought? Who would've thought?

The person that he has these feelings for

was quite aggressive to him.

But, babe, you've been aggressive too at the dinner parties.

Tensions rise when Sam and Chris air their concerns.

You're in no position to be giving someone feedback

about their behaviour, honey.

And you... I've never been aggressive to you.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS) And then...

I think, like, for me, as a man, I feel like...

MEL: Oh, god. ALESSANDRA: Oh, my god!

BEC: What are you on about?

..it's the shock debate that will divide the table.

That was not what I was getting at. Are we serious with this?

(RESOUNDING MUSIC PLAYS)

Our couples have returned from their homestay

and our brides and grooms are enjoying a new sense of closeness

after stepping into the life that could be waiting for them

outside the experiment.

Hi. Hey.

Bonjour. Bonjour.

Recharged and hopeful, the couples now turn their attention

to the second-last dinner party of the experiment,

eager to reconnect after time apart.

Are you excited? I am excited...

I'm very excited.

..because it's been a very long time since we caught up with everyone.

We don't know what the hell is going on.

It's gonna be exciting.

A lot of gossip. I love it.

I'll be straight up with you,

this is the most anticipated dinner party.

I'm looking forward to... Yeah. Really? How come?

We went through... The ups and downs and...

We went through the ups and downs... The trenches.

..but coming out of the end of it good.

Yeah.

You know, everything is exactly where it needs to be.

For Rachel and Steven,

homestays sparked a breakthrough in their marriage,

unlocking a new confidence in their relationship.

Hello, hello. Hello, sexy.

Thank you. Looking good.

Appreciate that. I like the red.

Right now, we've just come off the back of homestays

and it was amazing.

(LAUGHS)

Something definitely clicked for Steven and I.

It was that this could work. I think that's really what it is.

I'm ready to, like, load up the boat again

and get straight back up to the Central Coast

and just, you know, start hanging out

and, yeah, so it was really good.

We had such a great homestay

and I'm actually just really excited to share that with everyone.

That's it.

I'm glad you had a good time and you could see, you know,

a little bit of my lifestyle.

After homestays, it's given me confidence.

I feel a little bit better outside the experiment now.

Like I said to Rachel, can I see myself falling in love with you?

Yes, I can. And I mean that.

And homestays really gave me confidence in that.

I think we're really lucky.

You know, other couples may not have had a good homestay,

so we're really lucky to have had the good experience that we did.

While homestays brought some closer,

for Scott, welcoming Gia into his home presented new challenges.

GIA: What's that? SCOTT: It's a neck brace.

Why is it pink? Why is it pink? Why not?

Are you trying to find a problem? Is it your ex's or something?

Do you trust me? Like, do you trust my words?

Do you trust me as a person? Yeah, I trust you.

Yeah, why?

I feel like sometimes I'm walking on eggshells

because I feel like if I want to bring up something,

I feel like you might misinterpret it the wrong way.

I know I trust you, but can I commit to moving and everything

if you never feel like, you know, that you love me?

But back at the apartments,

eternal optimist Scott is determined to hit reset

and look on the bright side.

SCOTT: I feel great.

I just feel good walking into this dinner party

being able to share, like, good moments we've had.

I feel like it'll be good.

Like, I feel like tonight's gonna be

a really good, positive night to share

what we've done for homestays.

Yeah.

Look, at the end of homestays, we had a bit of a discussion

but we hashed it out.

Today, we're going to the dinner party with positive attitude.

We're great. We're in a really good place.

I want us to keep it like that.

Yeah, I mean, I'm pretty happy with where we're at.

We're coming to the end now.

This is the last, or second-last one.

Mmm. So... Yeah.

Well...

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

Pretty much.

Let's just do it, get it done.

I'm excited.

You look good. We feel good.

And I'm ready to walk into a nice dinner party.

Yep. Me too.

For Bec and Danny, what began as a promising homestay

took a dramatic turn.

If my family felt the need to have hard conversations with you,

they would.

I think obviously because Danielle fancies me, she didn't want to...

What? (DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(LAUGHS) I'm joking. I'm joking.

It's, like, a serious moment. (LAUGHS)

These... These moments make me feel like shit.

It's serious for me.

You should be able to say something nice and be genuine about it

and then not say, "Oh, your cousin wants to (BLEEP) me."

Like... I never said that.

Yeah. I'm done.

(BLEEP). (BLEEP) me.

(BLEEP).

And now, back at the apartments, an even bigger shock awaits.

(LAUGHS)

So, since we got back to Sydney from homestays, things are great.

Like... Cheers, baby.

Cheers, girl.

The last night, like, since we've been back,

like, there's not really any need to talk about it.

Like, he made a joke, it frustrated me,

he got frustrated with me

and then we wake up the next morning,

we give each other a cuddle, we have a shag and we move on.

Cheers.

It's all blown over. Like...

Shocking.

Oh, stop it! (LAUGHS)

For most couples, homestays brought them together,

but for one couple, it marked the end of the road.

SAM: Going to the dinner party tonight, yeah, I'm going alone.

Obviously Chris and I left each other at homestays.

I wrote some questions down and maybe we can just be, like,

really raw and honest with each other about all the answers.

First question is, do you accept full responsibility

for your defensiveness

and the aggression I felt from you last week?

Yep.

You don't have to agree.

Yeah, no, I agree. Yeah.

Just... I feel like we've just...

I've already suffered enough from this.

I honestly felt like I was 15,

getting in trouble by a teacher or something.

Do you have feelings for me?

Um...

OK. Um...

In the beginning, yes.

But I just think, yeah, we also have some differences as well

and I just want to put my dad hat on

and, like, live my best life.

Homestays was my last plea to see if he was gonna fight for me at all,

but Chris just kind of gave up.

So I did break up with Chris on the farm,

but I'm going to the dinner party because I want that last chance

to sort of just like find out

why Chris actually didn't want this relationship.

I just want clarity on what the hell happened.

But Sam isn't the only one strugglin with the fallout of their homestay.

During their trip to Adelaide, Alissa received a wake-up call.

ALISSA: Obviously I want to settle down in Adelaide,

but what are your thoughts about me moving to Sydney

just for a couple of years?

I would hate that.

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

You know, you want to have a family

and you don't want to keep putting it off.

People sometimes take ten years to fall pregnant.

That's the truth.

Yeah, I know, but, Mum... I don't know that.

I've never tried it. That's right.

But you don't know that. A couple of years...

A couple of years.

I don't think you've got a couple of years to wait.

(CRIES)

It's really stressful now. There's a lot on the line.

And after a confronting conversation with her mum, Alissa unravelled

and David was left wondering where he fits.

I will be honest with you. I... I started to spiral.

I want to have a family in the next few years.

Don't want to miss out on being mum

and if we're gonna make this thing work,

David might have to move to Adelaide.

WOMAN: Alissa, I'm really sorry, babe. I have to ask this to you.

You've sat here and you've talked a lot about

what your wants and needs are. Mmm.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

What about... Mmm.

..yeah, David?

Now back at the apartments,

David has had a wake-up call of his own.

Oh, man, I'm feeling at my limit post-homestays.

Can I see myself living in Adelaide? Absolutely.

But, you know, after having, you know, come back to Sydney

and having time to just come down from the high of homestays,

I am feeling a bit low

and that is because there were a couple of things that have still,

like, trickled in the back of my mind.

Could you see my yourself... Mmm.

..living here?

To be honest, yeah.

ALISSA: I know that you're willing to move here, which is great,

but I don't know, I feel like I'm getting overwhelmed with it

because... Because you're overwhelmed...

Spiralling. I am.

I am, because it's, like, a lot.

David actually is everything that you've asked for.

I know. Right now, this is too good to be true.

Like, and that is also another reason why I'm (BLEEP) scared too.

DAVID: Throughout this experiment, I have been patient

because I know there is something in this relationship to fight for.

But when you get to that point where, like, you're dealing with,

like, the mum, the family, friends

and they all said that I'm a great guy for her

and she still sees negatives,

there's nothing else I can do.

I've hit my limit and I'm not going to push any further.

It's getting very real

that I could potentially be putting everything on the line

for someone who doesn't want to meet me halfway.

So, today I know I need to be honest.

For me, I think it's important to just express how I feel.

Looking handsome. Thanks, baby.

Lovely. You're looking gorgeous.

I love the dress. Thank you.

Well, we're kind of almost matching.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

How are you feeling going into the dinner party after homestays?

Homestays was a massive, massive week.

So I'm at the point where, like I said, you know,

I'm happy to give you all the space you need...

and I'll take the space I need, 'cause I definitely need space.

Yeah, I feel like I've just gone and put it all on the line.

And, you know, I'm damn, damn not gonna force anything.

That's the first time I've ever heard you say that you need space.

I know, but I do. You never say 'space'.

Yeah, I know. You're always, like...

You're more, like, "Let's, like, whatever."

This is the first time you've ever said 'space'.

Yeah. I know.

That... That kind of like rattled me a little bit.

Normally, I'm the one that needs space,

so, you know what, if he needs space, gladly,

'cause I need space right now just from my head

and I don't need any of this pressure right now.

I feel like I'm at my tether, I feel like he's at his tether.

We're both tired. And he's been snoring louder than usual.

Like, it's just been a bit of a... emotional roller-coaster.

The reason I need space, because, yeah, I am a calm person,

but I'm getting to my limit, where I just need to take some space

for my own brain.

Because I feel like I've put my cards on the table,

but it almost felt like you were just looking for the negatives

and when someone's looking for the negatives too much

of why things can't work,

like, I'm not gonna force that.

I'm not gonna force the connection...

Mmm.

..if it's just me looking for the positives

and someone else is looking for anything to be, like,

why this can't work.

I would be lying to you

if I said I wasn't questioning things right now

and questioning our relationship.

I am in that headspace.

So I'm not going into the dinner party with Alissa

feeling my best self.

I'm sure you're in a similar boat.

Babe, I'm just as tired as you.

Yeah. Exactly. I'm just as tired as you.

Exactly. Yeah. I'm just as tired as you.

Mmm.

I get it.

(BRIGHT MUSIC PLAYS)

SCOTT: Want to be the honour... of getting out?

Let's get out of here. Yep. Let's go.

STELLA: Mmm.

After you. After me?

Thanks. (LAUGHS)

STEVEN: Off to the gallows we go.

(BOTH LAUGH)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

JOHN: Well, dinner party number seven,

the second-last one... MEL: Mmm.

..before we wind this all up.

And it is a very important one

because they've come back from the homestays,

as they start to get a glimpse

of what their life would be like with this person

in the real world.

This is a really crucial part of the experiment for them

because some of them will bond closer together

through the homestays...

I think it's gonna be really good. What about you?

Are you excited? I'm excited.

..whereas others will start to really fall apart

and question their overall compatibility with their matches.

Hey?

(LAUGHS) They'll hear that in the mics.

They'll hear that. Yeah, I know.

And you do that all the time.

You don't even realise. Yeah.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

MEL: Well, the homestays throws up the ultimate question -

could this relationship last in the outside world?

ALESSANDRA: Mm-hm. We're gonna see tonight.

RACHEL: Oh! First in! STEVEN: First ones in!

(LAUGHS)

MEL: Oh! Rachel and Stevo.

No-one to talk to but ourselves.

RACHEL: Are you sick of talking to me yet?

(BOTH LAUGH)

Straight to the bar. Straight to the bar, babes.

ALESSANDRA: I don't think I've seen Steven look so relaxed

and so really walking in with Rachel...

Yes! ..as he is tonight.

Very unified.

Tell me when. Thank you.

That's... (LAUGHS) Oh, my gosh.

Thank you so much. I've gotta look after you.

Oh, I appreciate it. (LAUGHS)

Me and Rachel, we're good. We walked into the cocktail party.

We're first in there, we're pouring drinks,

we're cracking jokes.

I'll just take this with me. Oh, are you gonna take that?

OK. (LAUGHS)

It's probably the most relaxed I've ever been a cocktail party.

We're in a good place.

Mmm.

Do you want me to... Do you want me to open it?

Is there a bottle opener? No, def...

(OPENS BOTTLE) Got it?

There you go.

We're both so keen to get out of this experiment,

see where life takes us, especially after the homestays.

Alrighty. Oh, my gosh, babes.

Here we are. BOTH: Cheers.

Hopefully... Oh...

..you know, it's just us. We can have all the food and the drink.

I mean, I wouldn't be mad about it, babes.

I mean, I'm just...

I think I'm just really, really excited

to share how much fun we had and, like, and how good...

(BOTH LAUGH) ..ours was.

MEL: Isn't that nice, that a couple

is sitting here talking about themselves?

Not everybody else. Yes.

This is great!

Oh... Checking you out, babe.

(LAUGHS) You're gonna make me blush. (BOTH LAUGH)

ALESSANDRA: And the enthusiasm... MEL: Yeah.

..in Rachel's voice and face as she is just excited to tell people

the good news they had a good week.

(RACHEL LAUGHS) STEVEN: Ummmm!

(MEL AND ALESSANDRA LAUGH)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

DAVID: Oh... (BLEEP) sake.

DAVID: OK. Well...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(CLOSES DOOR)

(RACHEL LAUGHS)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(ALISSA SQUEALS) Oh, look who it is!

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(SQUEALS) Oh, look who it is!

Oh, my god! RACHEL: Oh, my god.

(LAUGHS)

MEL: Oh, Alissa and David.

Hello, girl! Hello!

STEVEN: Hang on. DAVID: How are you, mate?

Dude, that's all I can do. Handshake.

How are you? Good to see you, bro. Likewise, man. Looking good.

MEL: Aw! That's some energy there, isn't it?

ALISSA: Oh, we're first. We're first.

We've got so much to talk about. Yeah, come sit.

Oh, yeah, we've got a lot to evaluate.

Oi! Let's just get some...

Evaluate? OK. OK.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

So, are you prepared for everyone to find out

that I'm a better fisherman than you or...?

Oh, hang on. Whoa. (LAUGHS)

Walking into the cocktail party tonight, you know, I was...

Obviously I've been on a low post the homestays.

I've sort of just been feeling deflated.

(POP!) Oooh. Right in my face.

And I did make it known to Alissa

that, you know, I am sort of wanting my own space, you know, in my head,

just to sort of figure things out,

so I did walk in on a low.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Hey! Here we go! What's up!

Scott and Gia.

GIA: Do a spin? Little hotness right here.

(LAUGHS) How pretty are you both!

Hi! Come give me some love! Gorgeous! Hello!

DAVID: How are you, bro? Good to see you, man.

SCOTT: Walking to the cocktail party tonight with Gia,

like, you know, we're not perfect,

we still have a couple of things to work on...

MAN: Get a drink and get in here, brother.

I always look at the bright side.

If there's something that's really bad,

I just see the more good in someone.

Do you want me to carry that? Thanks. (LAUGHS)

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

One saving grace for me is that last time I was in this car with Sam

it was just so yucky and awkward,

so I'm grateful not to have that, you know, at the moment.

It was so awkward, you could cut the tension with a knife

and I could not wait to get out of the car.

I just hope this, you know, situation with Sam and I

can get squashed pretty quickly

so I can have a couple of champs and try and enjoy my night.

Yeah, no, this is definitely not how I expected

to be going to a dinner party in the experiment.

I think Chris and I started off really strong,

everything was going good

and then, at some point he just flipped

and it all just sort of fell apart

and I don't really know what that flip was in him.

Oh, I definitely know he'll be going. Yep.

He wants to go to get the whole group's opinion

and two cents on our dirty laundry.

But you know what, there's two sides to this story

and I'm going to the dinner party to back myself

and say my side of the story.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(LOW-LEVEL CONVERSATION)

Oh!

(PEOPLE EXCLAIM)

MEL: Oh!

ALESSANDRA: Oh! JOHN: Ah!

Chris is alone.

CHRIS: How you going? ALISSA: OK. That's a surprise.

Hi. Hey, bud.

So, Chris walks in solo.

Well, shit. That's not my prediction.

GIA: Drink. Drink. Drink. Drink. Drink. Drink.

JOHN: I mean, they were very bad at the commitment ceremony.

Chris had written 'leave', Sam was absolutely in tears about it all.

MEL: Mmm.

There was a hope at the homestay they might be able to turn it around

but this looks like it's actually not been salvaged.

You look brown. Yeah, I'm alright.

You look very tanned. Thanks, babe.

But... The fit's good.

The fit's good. But my life's not.

Rose? I would love one, babe. Thank you.

ALISSA: Your life is OK. Yeah, thanks, babe.

You've got this shit, babe. You've got this shit.

Yeah, so, obviously it didn't work out.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. OK.

And I feel like maybe Sam and I can unpack it together.

Alright. You don't want to talk about it?

No, I'll give you a little... Yeah, give us your...

I'll give you a little rundown.

It's really hard seeing them not walk in together

because I genuinely had hoped that they would get past this.

Seeing Chris walking in by himself, like, it was genuinely,

like...well, your heart breaks.

But basically, yeah, Sam ended it with me two days into homestays.

He ended it with you? The second day.

He ended it? Yeah. Yep.

He ended it with you? Yeah.

MEL: Oh, Sam ended it.

JOHN: I wonder why.

ALESSANDRA: Yes. I wonder why.

Obviously we had, like, a, you know, pretty bad couch session.

Yes.

I took accountability, I decided that I wanted to learn and grow

from the feedback that I got... Yes. You said that.

..so I went into homestays trying to turn it around.

Gia knows. I spoke with you about it.

Yep. Bought him flowers, made him dinner.

I tried everything that I could to turn it around

but unfortunately, yeah, it didn't work for us.

And it was a real shock

because I thought we were actually doing quite well.

Like, you know, I started to get those feelings back for him again,

so...

MEL: So, Chris was saying he started getting feelings for Sam again.

JOHN: OK, so he was shocked by it.

Wow. Blindsided.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

CHRIS: Like, it's pretty... It's pretty sad.

But I respect Sam's decision to exit.

And we actually weren't even gonna come tonight.

Like, he left the farm, we were just gonna leave it at that,

'cause we unpacked a lot of it.

But I've decided to give Sam the respect of coming tonight

so we can both... GIA: Amazing.

..talk to you guys about it and... ALISSA: Yeah.

..let you guys know what's happened

and then sit in front of the experts and...

Yeah. ..get their advice.

But, like, no ill feelings towards Sam. I respect his decision.

But, yeah, she's single! Again! No!

I love you.

Yeah.

Alissa, how was yours?

Uh...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

I feel like I'm still processing everything.

CHRIS: Yeah. It's crunch time, right...

It's crunch time. ..for you guys, yeah.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

Um... But we'll talk about it later at the dinner party.

OK.

FILIP: Yo! (OTHERS CHEER)

Hey!

ALESSANDRA: Filip and Stella!

CHRIS: Hi, babe. You look amazing. Mwah.

How you going? How are you, big fella?

Hey, nice satin. DAVID: Looking good in black.

I love it.

For the best part, we had a really good homestay, you know.

I got clarity, so it's been decided -

I will be making that move happen sooner rather than later.

GIA: You looked tanned. Did you get a spray tan?

Huh? Did you get a spray tan?

No, we went to the beach. What the hell!

And I just thought, you know what,

like, it's time to go for an adventure.

WOMAN: Hi!

(OTHERS CHEER) STEVEN: Another distraction!

(LAUGHTER)

MEL: Ah, here's Bec and Danny.

JOHN: Bec and Danny.

SCOTT: How you going? BEC: Hello.

How are you?

I'm feeling phenomenal walking into this cocktail party tonight.

Danny and I are in a great spot. We are planning our future together.

Cheers.

We had great homestays and I've got no beef with anyone.

Oh, my god. Pigs fly. What the hell!

I'm not arguing with anyone.

ALISSA: Hello. How was homestays? Cheers.

How did you go? How was Adelaide?

Oh!

DANNY: Like, I got back and I was a bit drained,

to tell you the truth.

It was... It's a lot.

Like, I felt a bit uncomfortable in her house

and I felt a bit out of place

and it made me...did think about,

like, the logistics of the move more,

like, how it's gonna work.

Because I'm not just gonna move in with her...

DAVID: Of course. ..and live, like...

"Oh, put my feet up, this is rent-free," like...

Yeah. You gotta... That doesn't sit well with me.

So it just solidified, there's more things we need to talk about.

Of course.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

BEC: So... ALISSA: Yeah.

..we're gonna do it, I think. Yeah. Awesome.

Crazy.

Love it.

I think Danny and I are probably the strongest in the experiment,

if I'm honest with you,

and, like, it feels like it can only go up from here.

NARRATOR: Coming up... I would never just move in.

..Danny's jaw-dropping confession...

From my point of view, anyway...

I suppose everyone looks at it different, but...

Yeah. ..it makes you feel like a (BLEEP).

..has the whole table talking.

What are you on about?

Mm-mm. Mm-mm.

MEL: Oh, god. JOHN: What?

ALESSANDRA: Oh, my god!

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

SAM: Here we go.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

The last time he spoke to me was the Friday after he left

and all he said was

that he wanted to come to the dinner party and commitment ceremony.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

CHRIS: I don't know what the energy is gonna be like with Sam.

I hope he comes in, like, nice.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(SIGHS) Just... Yeah, I just can't deal with any more, you know.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

ALISSA: Yo!

SAM: Hello, everyone. MEL: Oh, here's Sam.

JOHN: Oh, here he is.

CHRIS: How you going? Good. How are you?

Good to see you. Good. You look nice.

Yeah. How are you?

Not too bad. Hello.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

STEVEN: Sam. How are you, mate?

I'm hugging, like, chest height, but...

I've got a vertical problem.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

Hey, looking schmick, brother. Thanks, mate.

Gonna get a drink. Come on, let's get you a drink.

Let's get a drink.

I hope he doesn't come at me, like...

GIA: Why? Are you worried? Oh, just...

Don't worry. Yeah, I just can't deal with it.

Like...

ALISSA: Alright.

GIA: No, you're OK.

ALISSA: How are you? Are you OK?

Oh, I just feel a bit like there was no real effort while we were away.

But we'll get into it at the table, yeah.

No, no, he's given us a bit of a brief.

What has he said?

That you guys, you know, went to homestays

and he cooked dinner one night

and you guys had dinner together one night

and he said he thought the first night was going OK

and then obviously you guys both had a chat and decided that it...

Yeah. ..wasn't right.

Yeah.

Dude, he didn't try.

OK. OK. You're eating up his bullshit.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Dinner is served.

OK. Let's go eat. Let's go, babes.

You've got this.

STEVEN: Let's go, mate.

Alrighty.

FILIP: Eh! Whoo!

Well, let's hope that now that dinner's about to begin,

we will get to the bottom of what actually happened at the homestay...

JOHN: Yes. ..between Sam and Chris.

Yes.

We need to understand what actually went on there.

SAM: Cheers, guys.

ALISSA: Cheers!

You've got the... You've got the tits out again.

DAVID: Oh, yeah, what... (LAUGHS)

Tits out for the boys. I love it.

I love this for you. ALISSA: Darl, yes.

Yeah. (LAUGHS)

Yeah.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

MEL: Wow.

JOHN: Oh, it's very tense, isn't it?

Chris, Sam. Mmm.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

SAM: I really want to talk about, from our perspective,

what led me to the decision to end things...

Yep.

..and how I felt the whole homestay, so...

Yeah.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

Tonight is going to be shit.

I... (SIGHS)

Sam and I have already hashed this out at the farm.

We're re-visiting it in front of the group.

So, for me, this is not comfortable.

I'm hoping that we can get it out of the way quickly

and I just want to get this over and done with.

(GLASS TINKLES) (TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

I hope Sam gets the closure that he needs and we can, yeah, move on.

I feel like we both just need to say everything that got us to this point

especially with meeting the experts tomorrow.

I want to get as much as I can out of this experience.

Um...

Yeah, we've mentioned it at the cocktail party,

that we, you know... well, you decided to end it,

so, yeah, like, I...

You were, like, also just, like, "OK."

Because I had given so much to try and make it work...

(SCOFFS) ..for it to come...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

CHRIS: Oh, my god. Here we go again.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

If Chris thinks that's loads of effort,

I feel sorry for anybody he ends up with in the future.

Like... Yeah.

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

Can I ask a question?

How did Sam end the relationship and where and how did it happen?

Could I tell the whole story?

I want you guys both to say it. Yep.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Yeah, so, homestays, obviously you all saw the last commitment ceremony

I wrote 'stay' and Chris wrote 'leave'

and that was really hard for me to battle with personally

because I did have feelings for Chris.

So, like, obviously, now I'm very nervous going into homestays

and we get to the car to drive down

and I'm, like, just sitting in the car and it's so uncomfortable

and I, like, literally, just, like, shut my eyes

and kind of pretend that I'm sleeping.

And then I get to the farm and then I do try and have fun,

have a good time.

I wake up the next morning... and Chris is nowhere to be seen.

No message, no note.

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

And I'm just there sitting for an hour in his house, at his place,

with no car, just by myself and then he rocks up, he's,

"Oh, I just went to the gym this morning.

"It was really windy last night." And I'm, like, "OK, cool."

And, like, this is when I'm starting to feel, like, "Are you...

"Do you really want me here?

"Do you, like, really want to show m

"how much you want this relationship to work?"

Look...

For me, it was letting him sleep a little bit longer.

OTHERS: Yes. (DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Can I... We're not interrupting each other tonight, right?

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

JOHN: Oh! MEL: Oh, god.

OK.

SAM: Can I keep going with my story?

CHRIS: Yep.

So then we come to the fire the next night

and this is when I'm, like, "This is my last plea here.

"Like, I'm gonna try and see if he really wants to fight for this

"if he really wants this relationshi to work"

and I had written down questions

that were all just about what the experts said.

Going through all these questions

and then he starts to get a bit shorter with them

'cause he's sick of talking about it

and then I'm, like, "Chris, do you even have feelings for me?"

And he goes, "Oh, you know,

"with what's happened over the last couple of weeks,

"I feel like my feelings are pretty damaged

"and, like, I don't really know if I do anymore."

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

Then I'm, like, "Well, then, what am I doing here?"

Then I was just, like, "Well, then, do we just end it here?"

and you were just, like,

"Yeah, I think that's probably, like, right to do."

And what I don't understand is where I hurt your feelings

and where you lost your feelings for me.

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

What I honestly feel, like, happened

is that you just, like, did the bare minimum,

got me flowers so that you could come here tonight and say

"I did this for Sam, I tried"

but, like, I know

that you were checked out of this relationship already.

I know you didn't want to give it a go.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

If I'm honest and I have to be honest...

it seems like you're putting a lot on Chris.

GIA: Yep.

And just because we have expectations to fill our cup fully,

doesn't mean this other person is gonna try...

Hold on. Hold on. Hold on a second. (TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

Let's not forget that, like, the week before,

Sam was in a world of pain, alone, being...

Yes, of course. But hang on a second.

Hang on a minute. But we can't be clinging on...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Sorry, I've got to say something here.

GIA: Bec needs to mind her business.

I don't know how her homestays went, but that should be her focus.

We're a couple of weeks out of final vows.

Worry about your man, doll.

I'm not gonna sit and let anyone sit here

and say "Your expectations are too high,"

when Sam sat there in tears, by himself,

not knowing which way was up and which way was down

for a whole week

because the person that he has these feelings for

was quite aggressive to him.

Like, let's all just take a step back here.

But, babe, you've been aggressive too at the dinner parties.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

You're in no position to be giving someone feedback

about their behaviour, honey,

so just pipe it down a little bit.

Sam sat there in tears by himself

not knowing which way was up and which way was down

for a whole week

because the person that he has these feelings for

was quite aggressive to him.

Like, let's all just take a step back here.

But, babe, you've been aggressive too at the dinner parties.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

You're in no position to be giving someone feedback

about their behaviour, honey,

so just pipe it down a little bit.

And you...

But I've never been aggressive to you.

Can I speak now? First of all...

Like, hand on heart, I tried my hardest to turn it around.

I've got the feedback from the experts, I took it on board,

I took accountability,

I realised that I wanted to grow and learn as a person

and I wanted to come out the other end

and I'm sorry, but I was doing that.

And I thought we had a good day

and, like, you pulled the notepad out

and then asked me the questions and I just...

For me, I felt like, you know,

like, "Can we just live in the moment?

"Can we just have a bit of fun and..."

But do you understand, with the questions,

they're things that were burning inside Sam...

Of course. Yeah, yeah, of course. But he needs answers too.

Yeah, cool. I'll keep talking, babes.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

So I felt uncomfortable but I stayed calm

and I answered the questions as best as I could.

But you ended it with me. You said, like...

Yeah, I know. Yeah.

Can I just say something?

The reason I ended it is 'cause I asked Chris,

"Do you still have feelings for me?"

If you were trying so hard

and you thought that everything was what you're saying,

then at that point you should've said,

"Sam, yes, I have feelings for you."

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

ALISSA: Can I ask a question?

Do you feel like, when Chris said 'leave' the other week

at the last commitment ceremony,

I know it really hurt you...

Like, you were really upset. We could see that.

Do you think that that really hurt you to a point

where...had you already made up your mind, in a way?

I hadn't made up my mind. No?

That just hurt me to the point where

this is why I think I needed so much from Chris...

OK.

..'cause I was really hurt that he'd said he wanted to leave.

OK. ..that he had already given up.

So I'm, like, I need to see from you that you haven't given up...

Yeah. ..completely.

And I get, maybe for you, what you did was enough,

but for me, it wasn't... It wasn't.

..and then I decided that based on the fact

that what you did wasn't enough, my expectations to call it happened.

I ended things because I wasn't getting what I wanted from Chris

and if that's not what he can give, because he's got kids

and he's got farm, he's got everything else...

Then you're not ultimately a good match.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

It's really upsetting that it hasn't worked out between Sam and Chris

because I care for both boys,

but listening to both sides of the story, I'm, like,

"They're not speaking the same language

"and they're seeing different things

"and I don't think they're gonna align tonight."

Just unfortunately it hasn't worked. And I don't want this to be yucky.

I just want to be amicable... I don't want it to be yucky either.

DANNY: It's not yucky, though, is it? It's not yucky.

Don't mistake passion for anger. I think you're both passionate.

It's not yucky, in my opinion. You're both just ironing it out.

We do love you both. We love you a lot.

ALISSA: Yeah. DANNY: 100%.

Good things.

I think it's really sad, what's happened with Sam and Chris.

I love them as people and I love them together

and I'm getting this feeling of, like,

Chris did try the way he knew how and it wasn't enough for Sam.

It's a hard one.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

So, Bec and Danny. How about you guys?

You're next. (LAUGHS) GIA: How was your homestays?

We had such a good homestays, didn't we?

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

BEC: If my family felt the need to have hard conversations with you,

they would.

(LAUGHS) I'm joking.

You should be able to say something nice and be genuine about it

and then not say, "Oh, your cousin wants to (BLEEP) me."

I never said that.

There's a camera in my (BLEEP) face and you're abusing me over a joke.

Dude, there's a camera in MY face

and you're making a joke of what I'm saying.

Yeah, I'm done. (BLEEP).

(BLEEP) me.

Well, we had, like... like, two perfect things

and we had a little argument at the end.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

We had a tiny little ding-dong at the end.

It lasted about 15 minutes.

I think, like, for me, I don't know if anyone else who experienced,

like, going into your partner's home...

In that moment, I felt, like, a bit out of place in the house.

Like, up until that point, I felt so comfortable...

MAN: Mmm. ..like, so welcome...

Not that I was ever, like, unwelcome,

but in that moment, arguing, like...

Hardly an argument. A ding-dong. But yeah.

Or whatever you want to call it.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

MEL: Whilst Danny did call it an argument, Bec called it a ding-dong,

so she's wanting to really contain it.

ALESSANDRA: Yes.

When we had the disagreement at the house,

I felt really uncomfortable

because it's not my space, it's your space.

WOMAN: Yeah. I don't know if anyone else can...

100%.

Like, yeah, so that was sort of something that stuck with me

in the sense of, like, moving forward...

It made me look at things in a different way

in the sense that I'll probably want to...

I don't know how I'd want to navigate...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

..if I was to move to Adelaide,

how the logistics of it would look, as a man.

MEL: Oh. ALESSANDRA: As a man.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

I feel like... Do you know what I mean?

Like, it's more Bec's house and than it is my house...

Like moving into her house. Yeah. Yeah, correct.

Like, I'd want to sit down and speak to Bec on a deeper level

about that...

because, like, I feel like if you move in with a woman...

And, like, I would never just move in...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Like, we have to talk about that on a deeper level

in the sense that, like...

I'm not moving out of my house. (SCOFFS)

No, I'm not asking you to, but what I'm saying is, like...

It's how he fits into it, babe.

Yeah, how I fit into it. That's more what I'm saying.

And to you, right now, you're probably, like, "That's easy."

I know, like...

But, like, I get from Danny's perspective he's, like...

Yeah. .."I'm moving in."

So he's gotta get his stuff out... Where does he put his stuff?

And we would make space, 100%, for that.

But from my point of view anyway...

I suppose everyone looks at it different,

but it makes you feel like a bit of a bitch moving in with a woman.

What are you on about?

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

From my point of view, anyway...

I suppose everyone looks at it different,

but it makes you feel like a bit of a bitch moving in with a woman.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

What are you on about?

Oh... Oh, no. That's not what I was getting at.

MEL: Oh, god. ALESSANDRA: Oh, my god.

He's talking about feeling emasculated...

God.

..if she was the one who owned the house.

And let's not use the term 'bitch' in that way either, Danny.

Not cool.

BEC: We're on 800 square metres, five minutes from the city,

with a $97,000 mortgage on a $3 million house!

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(BLEEP) me!

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Like, firstly... you've never said that to me.

Women have worked really, really hard to make sure

that we've got this multi-million-dollar home

in the most affluent suburb of South Australia,

so, yeah, you're not gonna be a bitch moving into my house.

That was not what I was getting at.

RACHEL: Are we (BLEEP) serious with this?

We're in the 2020s.

Emasculated by moving into a home with your woman?

Mm-mm. Mm-mm.

Just grow up.

SCOTT: You like to be a provider. Correct.

Correct, yeah.

I'll be honest, I couldn't go to hers.

I'm gonna buy the house. I'm gonna pay for everything.

Like, that's just a manly thing, though.

Dan's a bit like me.

He likes to feel like the man, the boss, the alpha male,

so I understand where Danny's coming from.

He just wants to feel more 'masculated' in the relationship.

GIA: We're more traditional in that way too.

No, but, like, I get it. My house is bigger than yours.

But it's, like, yeah, like, it's a different vibe.

I do agree with Danny.

I think for a man to feel masculine and his masculine energy,

they want to have the house and the woman move into it.

I know that's not, like, the norm these days

but, like, I like that and that's what me and Scott are doing,

so I do agree with Danny on that.

I think he wants to feel like the man

and he has every right to feel like that.

I feel like it's emasculating. Like, I get what you're saying.

Correct. Yeah, yeah.

You want your place to be, like, "Here, babe, like, come to me.

"Like, I'm the (BLEEP) man."

Like, I think that's, like, where you're coming from.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

I felt uncomfortable when we argued

and it made me feel 'demasculated' to, like, be in her house.

Yeah, like a bit of a bitch.

I've had that discussion with Bec two or three times.

I'm not a hit 1990s song on R&B radio

that keeps repeating itself, do you know what I mean?

I didn't feel uneasy until we had disagreement

but then I was just, like... do you know I mean?

JOHN: No, I don't know what you mean Danny.

MEL: I do wonder if Danny's showing a little insecurity there, you know.

I think some men would not see a barrier to moving into a house

owned by a woman that's... Totally.

It wouldn't feel emasculating.

He's really dropped the ball here.

And I'm old-school too. I'm exactly the same.

I can proudly say it as well, that if me and Rachel do something,

I would feel more comfortable if Rachel moved into my place,

be, like, a provider.

Well, I don't think that's very fair,

because at the end of the day,

the difference is that I've got a massive house with a lot of space

five minutes out of the city with a mortgage of 97 grand.

I feel like you're a team. I feel like you're a team.

100%.

I was brought up on those values. That's just the way I think.

You know...

Really?

I wouldn't... Yeah.

But, like, you've gotta work together,

do you know what I mean?

I know we'll work together, but...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

DAVID: As a man, maybe I'm old-school like that,

but I believe, like, the man should be the man of the house

and take care of the big bills.

It's nice to have your own thing,

but ultimately, you work together, right?

Exactly. Yeah. Ultimately we will.

It's about how can we work together, how can we make this work?

What are your needs, you know. Vice-versa.

It doesn't have to be a 'demasculating' thing.

It just has to be teamwork.

There's truth to that. ALISSA: You're a team.

There's truth to that. No, you're a team.

For some reason, it's just a mental thing,

it just works like that.

Females feel more secure when it is like that.

It's just how it is.

Unfortunately, it's a double standard. It's just how it is.

(LAUGHTER)

I understand where Danny's coming from.

Don't agree with it,

but I understand where Danny's coming from.

Bec and Danny's homestay, I don't think,

was as great as they made it out to be.

There's something... There's something not right there.

This is a serious conversation you guys need to have.

BEC: Oh, yeah, I know. We're at a dinner party.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

GIA: You're, like, "Shut up."

(LAUGHS) "Excellent.

"So glad we're talking about it with everyone."

RACHEL: Oh, goodness.

No, I said it to you already.

Not to that level, babes... I have. I 100% have.

..you haven't, no.

(TENSE MUSIC PLAYS)

NARRATOR: Still to come...

I did spiral a little bit.

Dave, what's going through your head, bro?

..David finally finds his voice...

I've hit my wall.

I've been calm throughout this whole thing, but I'm at my limit.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

ALESSANDRA: This is really a relationship in peril.

MEL: Yeah.

..before Bec confronts Danny.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

How about youse? GIA: Alissa, how was yours?

ALISSA: Um...

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

JOHN: Do you know what, Alissa and David

really have not spoken about themselves at all.

WOMEN: No.

ALESSANDRA: And that is not usual for them.

MEL: David looks quite uncomfortable, actually.

Yeah.

ALISSA: I feel like we had highs and lows.

I did spiral a little bit. Like, I did get in my head.

Because, you know, as soon as we touched down in Adelaide,

I felt, like, this weight.

I felt like, "Oh, my goodness, you know,

"I said I was gonna move to Sydney

"and, like, we were gonna make this thing work in Sydney

"and we'd meet halfway,"

but I have a lot of responsibilities in Adelaide.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

I have contracts in place, I have my business,

I have a house, I have a cat.

But I'm almost 34

and in the next few years, I want to start a family,

so I kind of put pressure on myself

and that's where I started to spiral on homestays

'cause I was, like, "Shit, this is not gonna work."

Like, I don't think I'm gonna be able to stretch myself

out of Adelaide, like, in the next three months.

It might look like six to 12 months

if we're gonna make this work in the real world.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

Beforehand, you were saying

potentially you'd give it three months and move to Sydney.

Is it the move to Adelaide now?

Well, that's what it would probably be.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

DAVID: It'll be Adelaide, yeah.

ALESSANDRA: Oh!

MEL: We haven't heard that from her before.

ALISSA: A lot came out of homestays

but it's just, like, how do we move, like, forward?

But I feel like the way that we process things are very different

and I'm wondering why am I spiralling, you know.

We're all under pressure,

but some people also deal with pressure differently.

When I need to just process,

my mind's going "Ding-ding-ding-ding,"

I retract.

Things have kind of turned on its head a little bit.

Alissa's now saying "I can't move,"

David's going, "Look, I'm willing to sacrifice everything

"and move down to Adelaide to give this relationship the best chance,"

but her retracting and pulling away from Dave,

freaking Dave out,

you know, I sort of felt for Dave a little bit.

If anything, all the risk is on David.

ALISSA: And there was one other thing.

I know that I can be a bit full-on.

And, like, he does ground me,

but maybe I'm finding a little bit sometimes too much,

where I feel like I'm not myself.

Like, it's really shifting my energy

and that's not something I'm used to.

My husband also snores.

I've had, like, lack of sleep the last three months.

Like, it's just... It's a compiling thing.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

DAVID: I feel like right now

Alissa is trying to look for any little thing

she can pull from the sky to question things in the relationship

and that is pushing me away.

She says she doesn't want to push me away

but her throwing all these doubts, there's only so much I can take

before I start feeling like an idiot, you know.

I think I was fine with just continuing to be

that emotional shoulder to lean on until homestays.

We've been on this experiment for two months.

It's been long enough for her to, like, be a bit more certain.

You know, if this ultimately isn't gonna work,

I'm not gonna force anything.

Like, it's up to her to come from her head into her heart

for this to work long-term.

Dave, what's going through your head, bro?

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

I've hit my wall.

I've been calm throughout this whole thing, but I'm at my limit.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

And I sort of need that mental space as well,

just as much as she probably needs it from coming back from homestay

and it's something we both need.

But it's at the point, emotionally, I don't have much to give.

I'm invested in this relationship.

I am prepared to move for this relationship,

but for me, I've bonded with her mum and her two best friends

and I've got her mum saying "This is all good for you,"

her friends saying "This is good for you..."

They really love David a lot.

So I'm just, like, "What other green checks do you need ticked off?"

like, you know.

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

JOHN: Well, this is David being really raw, isn't it?

I mean, he's saying that he's exhausted

and also he's hit his limit.

And I know that they talk about it in relation to the experiment,

but actually, you know, the experiment, for some people,

it brings them closer right now

and I get some real worries that he's started to step back.

We've got cracks, man. We've got cracks, like everyone.

We've got cracks.

But that's something that, you know, we will talk to the experts about.

JOHN: We actually haven't seen them in this state before, have we?

MEL: No.

It's absolutely more questions than answers we got tonight.

JOHN: So that's where we've got to g tomorrow night.

We are gonna need to ask about the homestays

and particularly where they see themselves in the future.

This is really a relationship in peril.

Yeah.

(SOLEMN MUSIC PLAYS)

How were your homestays, guys?

I went out on his Harley.

Like, I grew up there so I'm like,

"I went to school there,

"I had my first kiss there, I did this there!"

And it's, like, it's not like a foreign place for me.

CHRIS: Yeah. It's just easy...

the fact that she's lived there before.

So that was pretty big for us to have...

That's amazing. Yeah, it was really good.

..a bit of taste of the outside world, you know what I mean?

Like... We know.

Yeah.

ALISSA: So, what's your plan down the track, guys?

After the experiment.

I do like Cronulla. Yeah.

That's good. I could see myself there.

That's very important.

That's the whole point of it, the home visits,

like, "Can I see myself there?" Mmm.

Yes, I can. Let's just do it, you know, so...

Let's give it a go. Yeah. Just give it a go.

Like, and that was the realisation I had.

And you have a plan moving forward. Yeah.

And, like... You guys are great. Yeah.

Rachel and Steven, homestays.

Hey, guys. Who's talking? You can talk.

Captain Stevo. Rachel goes first and I'll...

BEC: No, I reckon Stevo go first. I agree.

I think Stevo can go first. I'll go first.

I always talk. OK.

Can you hear me down there? STELLA: Yeah.

FILIP: Yeah, boy. Loud and clear.

Alright.

So, look, I'm happy to say that Rachel and my family did get along.

Everyone loves each other.

Like, the drinks were flowing, everything was fantastic.

And, yeah, we had a really good time.

And took Rachel out on the boat

and she got to experience a little...

you know, a little snapshot of what my life is about

and what I'm passionate about.

So, took her out fishing

and I can definitely say very impressed with Rachel.

She full-on... ALISSA: She's a country girl.

..full-on leaned in.

She's a catch.

I am the catch of the day. She is a catch.

That's right. The catch of the day right here. (LAUGHS)

And, look, I was very impressed with her fishing skills.

She kissed a couple of fish. I did.

But I'm looking at this woman going,

"Look, it's not just that she's leaning into fishing,"

it's more the fact that I'm seeing a woman there

that is having a crack

and I can see that, outside fishing,

Rachel will have my back in things.

(GENTLE MUSIC PLAYS)

RACHEL: Aw!

I can see we can do life together

and I feel a lot more confident now

that the foundation has been laid on my side, anyway, with Rachel

that we can take this out onto the outside...

and have somewhere to start,

because it's been done and dusted.

I've still got to meet her side, but I feel more confident on my side

that Rachel and my family and my lifestyle will match now, so...

ALISSA: Whoo-hoo! We had a good time.

WOMAN: That's the best! WOMAN: Whoa!

(APPLAUSE)

(WARM MUSIC PLAYS)

Who would've thought? Who would've thought?

Hearing Steven talk about our homestay

and, like, the beautiful things he was saying, yeah...

I am emotional.

I'm so emotional about it

because I've got this guy that I truly, truly care about

and I'm developing such strong feelings for

and every time he talks about us with the group and everything,

it's beautiful.

It's just so nice

and what an amazing journey and opportunity we've had.

And the fact that we get to be with each other is just even better.

(LAUGHS)

Some guys are gonna buy girls flowers.

My guy bought me a fishing rod.

WOMAN: Amen!

(LAUGHTER)

And I was happy. Your girl's got her first fishing rod.

MEL: Oh, Rachel looks so happy.

Look at Steven smile! JOHN: Yeah.

We've never seen him smile like this.

Yeah. We've never seen him as relaxed...

No!

..and as confident as he has been tonight.

That was a full-bodied smile. Yeah.

He's really transformed.

But watching him now is just such a joy

and he's so comfortable in her space.

RACHEL: Look, we went through hard times

at the start of our relationship.

You all saw it.

And you know what, we just soared

and, you know, we're now hitting weeks

where it should test us

and instead, it's strengthening us and it's really nice.

FILIP: I love it. ALISSA: Yay!

(APPLAUSE)

ALISSA: Racho and Stevo!

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS) (FAINT LAUGHTER)

BEC: At the dinner table tonight,

Danny said that...

he would feel like a bitch moving into a girl's house.

I hadn't heard that yet.

And, like, I would hope that my husband knows

that he can talk to me.

Like, we talk about everything.

So, yeah...

I feel blindsided by him.

I feel completely, utterly betrayed by my husband.

VOICEOVER: They got dragged back into the drama.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

DANNY: If I was to move to Adelaide, as a man...

it makes you feel like a bit of a bitch

moving in with a woman.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(LOW-LEVEL CONVERSATION)

JOHN: Frankly, Danny, time and time again,

has not stepped up and made... MEL: Mmm.

..the commitment that she wants and craves.

She's been transparent. Yeah.

He hasn't said that he loves her back.

Mmm.

He's now saying "I don't want to live in your house.

Mmm.

So there's a number of things that are now adding up...

Yeah.

..that Bec's starting to worry about

when it comes to Danny's level of commitment.

Yes. And rightly so.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS) I mean...

The idea of, like...it, like...

Right. Yeah. OK.

MEL: I think Bec revealed how hard that conversation was for her,

you know, when she said,

"Oh, here we are, having this conversation in front of everyone."

ALESSANDRA: Mm-hm. She felt really uncomfortable.

And I think, after the dinner tonight,

they'll be going home for quite a big conversation.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC PLAYS)

(DRAMATIC MUSIC)

MEL: OK, so the purpose of this conversation is to talk about

what's been happening within the group of women.

Hello! Hello, ladies.

(SQUEALING)

Welcome to your hens night.

Not to make comparisons between men and women and who does it better...

Wow.

I just hope that there's some insigh here with the ladies

that, yes, in the future you are gonna be in contact

with other women who have strong personalities...

Martha!

..have strong judgements about you..

(SOBBING)

..or opinions about you...

Rah, rah, rah, rah... (GASPS)

..but that doesn't mean that you have to play dirty.

As a woman, I think it's important that we support each other.

Love that.

(APPLAUSE)

That we empower each other.

I'm so excited! This is amazing!

That we don't compete with each other.

(CHEERING)

That we give other women an opportunity to shine.

Jules, will you marry me?

Yes!

(CHEERING)

Just like we do.

I'm falling in love with you.

And that does not take away any of our power.

To the last dinner party!

(CHEERING)

(EMOTIONAL MUSIC)
