=Episode 9=

Forget it.

Every time we waited for my nephew,

it was just a waste of time.

Very well, let's begin.

Everyone,

the main agenda of this meeting

is to discuss the auction

(Ocean Hotel Corporation Board Meeting) that will be held at Yunfeng Hotel.

As we all know...

My apologies.

Sorry for the long wait.

Ze Liang.

What a surprise.

How did you manage to have

the time for this board meeting?

You are right, Uncle.

From now on,

I will

dedicate my life to work.

All right.

Let's get down to business.

Yi Fei.

Explain

the main agendas today.

Everyone,

our main focus today

will be

the auction of Yunfeng Hotel.

As you all know,

(Yunfeng Hotel Auction Tendering Report) the most famous auction company,

Fujiade Auction,

(Fujiade Company) will soon select

one five-star hotel in Shanghai as the venue

for their auction.

Our subsidiary Yunfeng Hotel

(Yunfeng Hotel) has managed to make it

(One of the top three choices) into the top three choices.

Yunfeng Hotel

is the five-star hotel

we spent

billions to build.

If we become the auction venue,

it'll be a worldwide advertisement

for our hotel.

But unfortunately,

based on the information I got,

Mr. Roman from Fujiade Auction

has decided to

partner up with Zhengde Hotel.

Zhengde?

They've been our rival

all along.

That's right.

Indeed.

It was supposed to be a great opportunity,

but we ruined it.

Our rival reaped the benefit.

We'll be mocked in the industry for this failure.

Everyone who participated

in the tendering

will have their bonus deducted.

I want your reflection report.

Mr. Huo.

Don't you think it's too early

to draw any conclusion now?

Ze Liang.

Judging by your tone,

you seem to have a plan.

Mr. Roman hasn't signed the contract

with Zhengde Hotel just yet.

At least,

we can still give it a try.

If we admit our defeat

before the outcome becomes certain,

that will only bolster their pride.

The ratification is tomorrow.

We won't make it in time.

Ze Liang, listen.

Business

is nothing like a video game.

The defeated must accept their punishment.

Very well.

If I manage to close the deal

with this tendering,

I'll ask only one thing from you.

I want full control over Yunfeng Hotel.

What if you fail?

If I fail,

I'll resign

from all the positions in this company.

Very well.

Ze Liang doesn't

get fired up for a job very often.

Is there anyone

who is willing to assist him

in this undertaking?

I'll help him.

Mr. Xie, this way.

Xie Yi, why are you here?

I was told someone broke into your house

and you even got hurt.

I got well, so I thought

I should come back to work.

Allow me to introduce.

This is Xie Ming Hao, he's a lawyer.

He has been working with

Ms. Shi's Hengye Bank for some time.

He is an outstanding

commercial lawyer.

Ms. Shi referred him

to help Ocean Hotel.

Mr. Xie.

Nice to meet you.

I am Su Xie Yi.

Hello.

By the way,

a burglar broke into my house a few days ago.

I'm not really sure

about damage compensation.

Could you help me out with it?

Sure.

I'll be glad to help.

Miss Gong just told me

she would brief me about

the company's situation.

Maybe Miss Su could do the honor instead?

Will that be a problem?

No problem.

Let's talk at the cafe downstairs.

Sure.

This way.

Ming Hao,

you could have given me a heads-up

before coming here.

After the cocktail party,

you never picked up your phone.

You weren't at your house either.

Where else

can I find you if not here?

You know why I'm here.

We shouldn't meet here.

But now you can

talk to me as one of their employees.

Don't worry.

Ocean Hotel and I are merely

business partners.

Sorry.

A lot had happened lately.

I didn't want to make you worry.

Xie Yi.

You know,

when I couldn't reach you,

it'd only make me...

It'd only make me and your sister

worry about you.

But I thought it through.

Since you insist on

executing your plan,

I'll do my best

to assist you.

Okay.

However,

you must never

keep any secrets from me.

Just discuss your plans with me.

By the way,

was Li Ze Liang's story

during the cocktail party

actually true?

He almost spotted me

when I was tailing Chen Heng Sheng.

He was trying to help,

so...

So this must

never happen again.

Xie Yi.

I've been looking everywhere for you.

Why are you with Mr. Xie?

Mr. Xie

is actually my sister's fiance.

He's my future brother-in-law.

I see.

Since he's your brother-in-law,

he's my brother-in-law as well.

Brother-in-law,

nice to meet you.

Xie Yi.

Contact me if there's anything.

I should get going.

Mr. Li.

Goodbye.

I've known him since I was a kid.

You don't have to pretend.

He knows everything.

I didn't know you two are so close.

Hello?

Ze Liang.

I'm ready.

We can go now.

Okay.

See you at the entrance.

I need to go out for some work.

As for you,

do your job.

Xie Yi,

do you have

the phone number

of that dashing lawyer?

Does he have a girlfriend?

I was only asking

questions about legal compensation.

Why would I pry so hard?

You already

have Mr. Li.

There are plenty of

single ladies here in the office.

I am the perfect example.

Now that

you mentioned it,

he told me

he has a fiancee

who looks very much like me.

He's already engaged?

Ms. Yi.

I wasn't expecting you to start working so soon.

I must thank you

and Mr. Huo

for my swift recovery.

Ming Yue.

Where are Ms. Shi and Mr. Li?

They aren't in their offices.

They are trying to secure

Yunfeng Hotel's partnership

with Fujiade Auction.

Yunfeng Hotel?

What's wrong?

It's nothing.

Don't worry about it.

Ms. Shi and Mr. Li

make a good team together.

Nothing could go wrong with them

working on it.

I bet you haven't heard.

In the past, Ms. Shi and Mr. Li

were known as

the perfect partners within the industry.

But the person that suits

Mr. Li the most

is of course you, Miss Su.

But I think

we can't afford to take risks

when it comes to

a relationship.

Am I right?

All right,

I'll leave you to your work.

See you around.

Xie Yi,

don't listen to her nonsense.

Mr. Li's heart is all yours.

But I think Mr. Li was

a little headstrong this time.

From what I heard,

he even swore to resign

if he failed

to secure the deal

with Fujiade Auction.

Seriously?

Yes.

Not to mention Fujiade Auction and Zhengde Hotel

are about to close the deal.

To make such a promise now...

Do you think he did it

because he really

doesn't want to go to work?

Fujiade Auction?

Xie Yi?

Xie Yi?

Hello, Mr. Ji.

Where are you now?

Putting Su Xie Yi into our equation...

A brilliant move indeed.

The Shi family has deep roots here.

We'll be at risk if Chu Chu

is working with Li Ze Liang.

We have Zhengde Hotel that is closing a deal,

and now we have Su Xie Yi to stir up trouble.

It'll be very challenging

for the duo to succeed.

Let's not let our guard down.

I can feel it's different this time.

Follow them.

Keep me posted

on everything.

Yes.

Hello, the gin and tonic you ordered.

Thanks.

I'll have a Mojito.

Sure.

Remember,

the mint

must be crushed until you get the juice.

Use half a lime.

Add the sucrose before the mint.

That will bring out

the rum's sugary scent.

Different layers of flavors

will then be created.

Thanks.

Hold on.

Yes?

I'll have a Mojito

just the way she ordered.

Hi, I am Nina.

I'm Cicely.

Mr. Roman,

I appreciate

that you are willing

to meet us.

This is our proposal.

Mr. Li, Ms. Shi.

I agreed to meet you

not because

I want to discuss the auction.

I merely

want to make some friends.

I know.

Ocean is a great hotel.

But Zhengde is just as great.

They have a long history as a hotel.

Our objective

is to work with the best there is.

Mr. Roman.

I must thank you

for acknowledging Ocean Hotel.

I was told you and your wife would stay in Shanghai

for quite a while.

May we have the honor

of inviting you and your wife

to stay in Ocean?

I appreciate the offer.

But Zhengde Hotel

has provided us

with remarkable accommodation.

The next time I come to Shanghai,

I will be sure to experience

the top-notched

Ocean Hotel.

This tastes amazing.

Mojito for the first love,

gin and tonic for the crush.

To create

this sweet and sour flavor,

the key is none other than...

the lime.

When Roman

proposed to me that night,

this is how it felt like.

It was at the venue

of the 19th Thomas Cup.

He proposed right before the crowd.

That sounds very romantic.

Was it the time Larson turned the table?

Why?

Are you interested in badminton too?

Yes.

It seems

we can get along very well.

Mr. Roman,

please give us

five minutes

to explain our proposal

to you.

I'll be honest with you, Mr. Li.

My company has signed

the letter of intent with Zhengde.

If nothing goes wrong,

we will not make any changes

to our plans for the partnership.

Mr. Roman.

The reason you chose to hold

the auction in Shanghai

because you want to open up

the market of artwork auctioning

in mainland China.

You chose to hold the auction

in a five-star hotel

because

the hotel would have a clientele

that possesses the necessary resources.

With all due respect,

my father is the current president

of Hengye Bank.

Our bank also has

an outstanding clientele

which possesses great resources.

Many of them

are art enthusiasts

and potential buyers.

If you choose to partner up

with Ocean Hotel,

I assure you your company

will have the best clientele

of both Ocean Hotel and Hengye Bank.

Mr. Roman, I'm sure you know

for an auction to be a success,

the key is

record-breaking selling price.

For this upcoming auction,

our bank will provide

a specialized loan

to stimulate and increase

the purchasing ability of our clients.

I believe it will greatly increase the chance of an item

being sold at a record-breaking price.

For both parties,

this is the best advertisement.

That's right.

Mr. Roman,

you mentioned

you wanted to work

with the best partner there is.

I believe with Ocean Hotel and Hengye Bank

joining hands,

we'll be unstoppable.

So I really hope

you can reconsider

our proposal.

We will make sure

the auction is one

that makes headlines and history.

Honestly,

I am tempted.

But Mr. Li,

you must understand.

In business,

a promise must never be broken.

I gave them my word,

so I never change my mind so easily.

Honey.

Honey, let me introduce you.

This is Mr. Li's girlfriend,

Miss Su.

Su Xie Yi.

She and I get along very well.

Miss Su here

is also a fan of Larson.

She also invited both of us

to a badminton match.

Is that so?

I hope I have the honor.

Mr. Roman,

will you accept my challenge?

Sure.

I've heard the Romans was crowned the best players

in the financial industry.

It'll be

Xie Yi's honor

to have a match

with both of you.

Why don't we have a double

to make it more fun?

I'd love to experience

your prowess as badminton players.

If that's fine with you,

we'll be glad to.

That's great.

Mr. Li.

Don't worry, I'll manage.

See you at the badminton court.

See you there.

Please.

See you later.

See you.

Let's go, Honey.

We should go too.

Hello, Mr. Huo.

A badminton match?

This is interesting.

Miss Su.

Ze Liang can't play.

You must stop him

from joining the match.

There are things

worse than you can imagine.

Ms. Shi.

I am well aware of the situation.

If you know the risk,

you should stop him from playing.

It'll only do him more harm.

I'm not harming him.

It's just that...

I believe in him.

Perhaps he is much stronger

than you think.

You just refuse to believe it.

Mr. Roman.

See you at the court.

Chu Chu...

I'll play on your behalf.

Never mind.

I'll do it myself.

Are you ready?

You take care of the rear side.

I'll leave the front side to you.
