=Episode 7=

How well do you know Ze Liang?

Ms. Shi,

if I don't,

I don't think

we will be together.

Since Ze Liang

chose to make your relationship public,

I'll wish you well.

But I heard

about you two.

You met two years ago.

You lost touch with each other

in between.

Yes,

but fate

still let us be together.

So my question is,

do you know

the "Li Ze Liang" now?

You seem to be concerned about Ze Liang.

Of course.

After all,

we're old friends.

Was he

the real reason

you fired me?

I'll be frank.

We're women.

I could feel you're too purposeful

from the moment you joined the company

to approaching Ze Liang.

I dislike opportunistic people with self-interest.

I don't know

why you split two years ago.

I only hope,

since you're with him,

you must love all of him.

Don't hurt him

the second time.

Sure.

Thank you for the advice.

I can do it.

Good.

Ms. Shi,

do I apply for leave from you in the future

or...?

What's wrong?

Toothache.

It happens from time to time.

I want to collect my prescription.

You're working for Mr. Li now.

You can just talk to him directly.

Thank you, Ms. Shi.

Mr. Chen!

Mr. Qin,

it's hard

to meet you.

Come on.

Let's have a seat.

Have some tea.

Good things take time.

Selling works of art

isn't like other ordinary businesses.

We mustn't rush it.

Mr. Qin,

I know your concerns.

Mr. Chen,

who used to work with us,

has migrated.

That's why

he recommended me to you.

We have worked with Mr. Chen

for quite a long time.

He's also an old friend of yours.

What else do you have to worry about?

In fact,

we're not in a rush either.

But

the hotel has started operating.

We have also received

the budget from the group.

I just think

if we can cut this deal

earlier,

you can feel relieved earlier

when the deal is set in place.

All right.

Same rules, then.

Twenty percent of the deal

will go into your designated account.

Mr. Qin,

you're indeed a man of your word.

But...

let me be straight with you.

I may seek profits.

But you and I know

the quality of these paintings.

The quotation for the works

is outrageous.

Aren't you afraid of the risk?

These are works of art.

You get it.

There's a way of going around the quotation.

It's not the first time

we're doing this anyway.

So please

rest assured.

So...

is the rebate negotiable?

To be honest,

I'm only acting under orders.

I hope you won't make it difficult for me.

You're an important client.

But I request

a lump sum payment.

No problem.

But...

for my cut...

Have some tea.

I have another request.

Please tell.

I want to meet your superior

because I need to know

your financial capacity

is guaranteed.

We may have been

keeping in touch for two months

and have built up

some trust.

But after all,

it's our first time working together.

If we don't meet even once,

how are we going to talk about long-term cooperation?

All right.

I'll relay your request

to my boss.

Great!

I look forward to working with you.

Same here.

(Pinxuan Art Gallery)

(Pinxuan Art Gallery)

Hello, miss.

Please show me your membership card

or tell me your mobile number.

I'll register for you.

It's my first time here.

Let me show you around, then.

This way, please.

Okay.

Over here,

we have Gade's paintings.

His forte is landscape painting

and he is the most

outstanding young painter in recent years.

By the way,

is your boss' surname Qin?

Do you know our boss?

Is he here now?

I'm sorry.

Our boss

doesn't receive random guests.

Unless...

Unless what?

Unless you

become our Gold Member.

Only then will our boss provide you

with exclusive services.

What are the terms

to be a member?

A single purchase of one million yuan.

This one.

This, this, this,

and that one.

I want all of these.

Are these enough?

Yes, it's enough.

What's your payment method?

Pack these up for me first.

I'll get Li Ze Liang

of Ocean Hotel Corporation

to pay for these.

I'm sorry.

It's against our policy.

Excuse me.

Boss.

Hello there.

I'm the owner of this gallery.

Mr. Qin?

Yes, I am.

I heard what you said

just now.

May I know

who you are to Mr. Li of Ocean Hotel Corporation?

Ze Liang is my boyfriend.

My name is Su Xie Yi.

Miss Su.

How about we go to my office?

We'll chat while having tea.

Sure.

All right. This way, please.

Qin only wants to increase the price

after beating around the bush.

But I rejected him.

If he's only greedy for money,

there's nothing to worry about.

You're right.

(Chen Heng Sheng) The cut from the rebate

remains the same as discussed.

There are no changes.

Get it done quickly, then.

No problem.

Also,

he has another request.

He wants to meet you in person.

He seems

to doubt our ability

to pay.

But I think

his request is common

since it's a huge amount.

He's pretty cautious.

I'll let you know.

Got it.

Why?

Is he scared it's a trap

after giving him so much benefit?

It's not wrong for him to be cautious.

After all, this deal

concerns a huge amount of money.

(Lin Tai)

Mr. Huo.

What's wrong?

Su Xie Yi is odd.

She dressed up differently

and went to an art gallery.

Which art gallery?

Pinxuan Art Gallery.

Okay.

Keep an eye on her.

Okay.

Su Xie Yi also went

to that art gallery?

It can't be a coincidence.

Hello?

I want you

to contact Mr. Qin now

and tell him I'm going to see him now.

Have a seat, Miss Su.

Have some tea.

Mr. Qin,

this art gallery has been around for years, right?

More than ten years.

Miss Su,

is there a reason

you want to see me today?

Of course,

it's to make a deal with you.

A deal?

Okay.

Please tell me.

This deal is related

to the previous client who was here.

I'm sure you know the reason

I'm here.

Do you mean Chen Heng Sheng?

That's right.

You should know

he's not the person in charge.

He was only

running errands.

Are you saying

Chen Heng Sheng

is working for you?

It looks like

he did a good job at being discreet.

This is the reason

I've been keeping him.

I would never have thought

that the person

who planned such a huge deal

is such...

a young woman who's also the girlfriend

of Li Ze Liang

from Ocean Hotel Corporation.

Let's cut to the chase.

What were the conditions he laid?

Miss Su,

before I answer your question,

shouldn't you

answer my questions first?

Why?

You don't believe me?

Of course I do.

I'm only curious.

It's a huge deal.

Does your boyfriend, Li Ze Liang,

know about this?

Why didn't he

come with you?

Are you worried

about my financial capacity?

It seems that you don't know much

about my relationship with Ze Liang.

You only need to simply ask

to know how conspicuous

is his love affection for me.

I've heard

of his show of affection

at the cocktail party.

Let me put it this way.

If I wanted to pick a star,

he would never pick the moon.

I'll be honest.

He has proposed to me.

So

I'm not only his girlfriend.

To be exact,

I'm his fiancée.

So

do you still

doubt my financial capacity?

You're a smart person.

There's no need to go against money.

You never showed up before.

Why do you want to see me out of a sudden?

Honestly,

Chen Heng Sheng has been dealing with you.

I don't know

if anything fishy in this deal.

So

it has always been my concern

about the terms he laid out to you.

Are you scared that he's benefiting from both sides?

Of course, I trust him.

But...

what if?

So

can you now tell me

the terms

Chen Heng Sheng promised you?

Of course.

Speaking of the devil.

Hello, Mr. Chen.

Mr. Qin, it's me.

I've told my boss

of your request.

That's great.

My boss is thrilled.

He should be there now.

All right.

Miss Su,

you know how it works in business.

In our first meeting,

we only have tea.

As for cooperation,

we'll discuss it next time.

Okay.

But I hope

you can keep my identity a secret.

And please don't tell anyone

that I was here.

Of course.

That includes Chen Heng Sheng.

I'll excuse myself, then.

Okay.

I won't be seeing you off.

I didn't know you were in the mood

to enjoy paintings here.

You're here too, Mr. Huo.

I was passing by,

so I dropped by.

Is that so?

As far as I am concerned,

this is a member-only art gallery.

You drop by just because you passed by.

Even the owner received you in person.

That doesn't make sense at all.

Besides, I'm curious

what were you and the owner

talking about in the office.

Uncle?

You're here too?

Ze Liang, you're here too.

Yes.

Didn't you say to come together?

Why did you come here by yourself?

I did say that.

I was afraid you would be busy,

so I came here first.

Naughty.

I'm not.

Well, here is the thing.

Xie Yi saw a painting

in this gallery

that she really likes on the internet.

She keeps on telling me to buy it for her.

I didn't expect you

to remember

what I said casually.

So are you going

to buy it for me?

As long as you like it.

Mr. Li is such a great guy.

Miss Su said

you'll buy anything

she likes.

So it's true.

Miss Su,

you're lucky to have such

a doting boyfriend.

Of course.

You see,

Miss Su

chose seven paintings.

All of them are fine works of art.

It costs a total of 10,150,000 yuan.

Didn't you say only one painting?

Mr. Li,

so...?

Ze Liang,

it's my first time here.

So

I chose a few.

You don't have to buy them.

Moreover, your uncle is also here today.

Let's not make your uncle think

that you have a girlfriend

who only knows how to spend money.

How about this?

Later,

I'll pick the best painting.

All right.

It's okay, Xie Yi.

I'll buy whatever you want.

Let's go to the mall later.

Let's check out real estate.

Aren't you Mr. Huo and Mr. Li?

I've heard so much about you.

Let me introduce myself.

I'm the owner of this art gallery,

Qin.

Hello, Mr. Qin.

Hello.

Mr. Qin,

I need to speak

to Mr. Li in private.

Do you have any...

Yes, we do.

Let's head to my office on the second floor.

It's quieter there.

Okay.

Yi Fei,

keep Miss Su company and pick a good painting.

Okay.

Let's go, Ze Liang.

Go ahead.

I'll go to you once I'm done picking.

All right. Pick any paintings that you like.

Yi Fei,

take good care of her.

Let's go, Uncle.

This way, please.

Are you here to buy a painting for Miss Su?

Yes, Uncle.

In that case,

you already know

which painting she likes

before she comes here, right?

Is there any problem with that?

Let's play a game.

Let's guess

which painting she'll buy in the end.

If you guess it right,

this painting will be a gift

from me to both of you.

If you want to give a gift,

no need to go through the trouble.

It doesn't matter what you give,

Xie Yi and I

will like it.

No. No. No.

The gift itself

doesn't matter.

What matters

is the interesting process.

I'll be honest with you.

Before we came here,

Xie Yi already told me

that you'd ask me to guess

which painting she'd buy.

The guessing game

is no longer interesting anymore.

Why are you hesitating, then?

All right, then.

It's the fifth painting from the left.

All right.

We shall see.

This one...

All right.

I'll wrap it up for you.

I don't really like it.

(Su Xie Yi,)

(have you forgotten about the tree?)

I'll take this one.

All right.

Thank you for your gift.

I care about you.

So it's only natural.

I won't disturb you enjoying the paintings, then.

I'll get going now.

It's such a pity.

I was so close.

I almost

got Mr. Qin

to reveal it.

It must be the call he answered

that ruined my plan.

Enough!

What did you

promise me last night?

What's wrong?

I told you

I'd continue investigating it.

You can investigate.

But you would

have been exposed

if I didn't show up today,

do you know that?

I didn't know

I'd run into Huo Jian here today.

Or was he

the person who talked to Chen Heng Sheng

yesterday?

So do you know

that it's not a coincidence

he showed up there now?

He most probably

went to the art gallery

to confirm

whether you were the one

who heard their conversation last night.

So do you think our act

can deceive him?

I don't know.

Let's get in the car first.

Chen Heng Sheng said

you wanted to see me.

It shows you have doubts

about our cooperation.

Mr. Huo,

what other doubts would I have

now that you're already here in person?

Good.

Since you have no doubts,

I have a question,

which I hope

you can answer truthfully.

Sure,

I'll tell you what I know.

Mr. Qin,

do you know Miss Su?

(Incoming call)

If it's inconvenient for you to answer because of me,

you can stop by the roadside.

I'll answer it.

Is it convenient to talk?

Yes.

Is Su Xie Yi really your girlfriend?

Yes.

Why is she interfering

in Chen Heng Sheng's affair?

It's a long story.

I'll tell you about it next time.

Huo Jian asked me...

(Do you know Miss Su?)

No, I don't.

It's my first time meeting her.

Isn't it against your policy

for you to receive her in person

when it's her first time here?

She said

she's Li Ze Liang's girlfriend.

That's why I invited her to the office.

Chen Heng Sheng

has been keeping your identity a secret.

I thought

the person behind Chen Heng Sheng

was her.

Don't you think

you're being too careless?

Then,

did you tell her

about our deals?

Here.

Of course not.

Before anything else,

I asked her purpose here.

Then why did she

want to see you?

To buy paintings.

She said she saw a painting

from my gallery on the internet.

She likes it very much

and wanted to buy it.

Mr. Qin,

our deal

costs billions.

I hope you're not lying to me.

Mr. Huo,

you know

we're dealing with a huge business.

So there's no reason for me to lie to you.

I can't give up something big

over something small.

Am I right?

Mr. Qin, you're something.

So

about our contract...

Wait for my news.

All right, I got it.

In order to find out

Huo Jian has been secretly using art purchases

to seize Ocean's assets,

we've set this up

for half a year already.

It wasn't easy

to gain Chen Heng Sheng's trust

and meet Huo Jian.

It's the most

critical time now.

There's must be no mistake.

I know.

In fact, for Xie Yi coming to you today

has both disadvantages and advantages.

How so?

Huo Jian has been

suspecting Su Xie Yi.

He was worried

that Xie Yi would investigate the matter at the gallery

because she overheard their conversation.

He must have imagined a lot of things

when he ran into Xie Yi at the gallery today.

But he would never imagine

that you're on my side.

So

he'll contact you again.

Okay.

Remember to tell me

in advance the next time.

Okay.

Bye-bye.

No wonder

when I told you about this,

you told me not to get involved.

Why are you doing this?

What do you think?

Find evidence against Huo Jian

to bring him down

and take charge of Ocean again.

What are the odds of this happening?

There's one thing that's more suspicious.

What do you mean?

When I was

accompanying her picking the paintings...

This one, then.

Do you like this painting?

Not bad. It looks pretty.

If I didn't see it wrongly,

it should be a voice recorder.

Also, she should be the one

who eavesdropped during Hengye's cocktail party.

I fear she may have recorded the conversation that day.

I don't care if she did.

We must destroy it after we make sure.

Okay.

(Carpentry)

Thank you for sending me home.

I'm sorry about today.

I hope it won't

happen again.

Don't worry.

It won't.

Mr. Huo,

I didn't find any voice recorder.

But there are

some audio files on the laptop.

Stop right there.

Give me the voice recorder.

(Xie Yi)

Who are you calling?

Are you trying to call the police?

Let me go!

Give it to me!

Hand it over!
