Thank you.

Thank you.

Tatiana?

Tati?

Tatiana?

Tatiana? Honey, dinner's ready.

Honey, what are you doing?

Ha,

ha, ha.

Ha, ha, ha.

Ha, ha, ha. Ha,

ha, ha.

My name is Michael Sanchica, and I'm an investigator.

I document true events of demonic possession.

I can see the future.

I can see the past.

Some call me an exorcist, but I'm just a man of faith.

October 31st, 9 .30 p .m.

I received a call that I very much feared.

I was afraid it was too late.

But to tell the story, let's start from the beginning.

Demons are real.

They're everywhere, prowling like roaring lions, seeking souls to devour.

And in some cases, the victims are children.

Leonardo, Ortega, I now baptize you in the name of the Father,

in the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Ghost.

For you are Christ's own forever.

You're welcome.

I had grown to love the people in my parish.

They needed me.

I had a new church, a new life.

Things were finally getting back to normal.

So I thought.

Can I help you?

Prayer is a powerful tool, especially when a mother is praying.

Who are you?

The mother's name is Catherine McMurder. Her daughter is in extreme danger.

Exorcism is a ceremony used only as a last resort. It is almost never used by

the church today.

I can't do this anymore.

The mother's been praying night and day for her daughter's salvation.

God has given you this purpose.

You were informed the last time you appeared before this tribunal that any

such incidents would result in excommunication.

Sometimes I don't understand God.

God gives you a choice, a free will.

The young girl's time is getting short. Michael, you must make a decision soon.

Every demon shall leave her body in the name of Jesus.

This

is

case study number 005.

Case study victim, Tatiana McMurder.

16 years old, female.

She never knew her real father, and her relationship with her stepfather,

Jonathan, was a rocky one.

Lucas McMurder.

Jonathan's brother was always there for her.

He loved Tatiana very much.

Amen.

Now we'll have communion.

Lucas, Enrique.

Isn't God wonderful?

Amen.

Isn't God faithful?

Amen.

To forgive the wretched.

To forgive the sinners.

To forgive the impure.

The sinners.

Toxic shame is common among victims of demonic possession and oppression.

And religion can be a fertile breeding ground for demons.

Tatiana's mother, Catherine, had a rough life before she found God.

She had endured a lot of pain, but that was nothing compared to the pain she was

about to go through.

Help me.

Catherine?

Catherine?

Do you know where my screwdriver is?

Yeah, it's in the kitchen over the stove.

Are you all right, honey?

Yes, I'm just a little overtaken by dust, I guess, you know.

October 29th, 9 .31 p .m.

I received a phone call from Catherine McMurder.

She said her daughter Tatiana had been ill for more than four years, being

treated for bipolar disorder and epilepsy.

However... That didn't explain the bloody knives and candles.

She had begun to think it was more than just physical.

Maybe it was spiritual.

Not too high, Michael. She's only three.

It's okay, honey.

She's a big girl.

Hey, you're my wife, not my mother.

Come here, Shonda. Daddy's gonna see you.

Mom?

What's wrong, Michael?

I'm having those bad dreams again.

I'm seeing evil things.

Oh, baby.

Come here.

You're going to be okay.

You're going to be okay.

I know those scary, scary dreams keep coming.

But God is going to take care of you.

Because you're special.

So you just remember and say your prayers.

I believe that the angels are going to come and take care of you.

Because God loves you.

And I love you.

You're my little boy, Blue.

Come here.

She was sick, Michael. Sick.

Father Sanchika, you know why you're here.

Despite repeated warnings, you insist on taking matters into your own hands.

Matters that are better left to those whom the church has ordained for this

purpose.

Exorcism is a ceremony only to be used as a last resort.

Diagnosed as a chronic manic depressive.

You are a danger to yourself and to this church, considering how well it worked

out when you tried it on your wife.

I ask, O God, that you bestow thy blessings upon this child, Lord, and

every demon shall leave her body right now in the name of Jesus.

Have you not heard of Mark 9, chapter 37 and 38?

For John said, Master, he cast out demons in thy name, but he followed

us not, so we forbid him.

Jesus said, Forbidden not.

For anyone who performs miracles in my name, how can he speak ill of me? I

cannot in good conscience allow you to continue to serve the Episcopal Church.

We will move you to a different parish.

May God have mercy on you.

October 30th, 9 .22 p .m.

Tatiana had on various occasions reported hearing voices, voices coming

animals.

But this time it was different.

The voices she was about to encounter were becoming very real.

Captain, you are mine.

Uncle Lucas.

Uncle Lucas. What happened?

A man, he attacked me. Where?

Down by the animals.

Stay.

Are you

alright,

honey? Daddy, a man attacked me.

Down by the animal.

Come on.

Go! Go!

Many victims of possession suffer hallucinations.

Tatiana said she ran from the chicken coop to her attacker's house, when in

the young man's home was more than five miles away.

Did she hallucinate?

Too many questions, too many issues, and too many nightmares.

It was time for some answers, but maybe not the ones I wanted to hear.

Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. McMurder. How are you tonight?

Fine, thank you.

Well,

I will come in.

I was on my way to the McMurder's when Enrique Parada, a local farm boy,

with the attacker and his family.

This is Mr. Perez.

He and his wife live in the next village.

This is their son.

Mr. Perez heard about the unfortunate incident with the young girl and wishes

apologize.

The son has palsy and is otherwise harmless. He merely strayed from the

and lost his way.

Well, thank Mr.

Perez for his apology and for being forthright.

Mi amigo acepto su disculpa. Bien.

How does the young man know Tatiana?

¿Cómo conoce a Tatiana?

Él no la conoce.

He doesn't know her, Mr. McMurray.

But... The young man called Tatiana by name and made certain comments that

scared her.

That's impossible.

Their son was born a deaf mute.

What?

Thank you, Enrique. Tell him thank you for coming.

Sorry for the hat. I'm assuming it was McMurdo.

It's alright.

Sorry for all the trouble.

It's okay.

Well,

at least

now we know there was an assailant.

A mute boy called by name.

a vicious pig, and attacking chickens.

Jonathan, she was injured.

Self -inflicted to gain sympathy.

Please, just let me take her to Dr. Humanis.

I don't know, maybe a change of medication would help.

Okay. I asked Mrs. McMurder to arrange a consultation that night with Tatiana's

doctor. I don't like him. Don't make me go, please.

Oh, honey, we have to do something.

Doctor, your man has a new medication for your condition.

And your father and I feel... I didn't know my father could feel anything.

Oh, baby, your father loves you. He really does.

He just has a hard time showing it.

Well, sometimes people have a difficult time showing their love physically and

emotionally.

He shows love to people in church and sometimes to people he doesn't even

Maybe so.

Honey, you can't burn candles in this house. It's too dangerous.

You need to get some rest, okay? Okay, Mom.

Good night.

11 .58 p .m.

Tatiana refused to see her doctor.

The question was, why?

This is Chica.

I need to see you.

It's urgent.

Who is this?

October 31st, 12 .05 a .m., a memory found my phone number, and I

found myself drifting back in time.

The demons I had buried were about to resurface.

Michael!

It's been a long time.

I thought you were dead.

A lot of people do.

That's why we had to meet like this.

What's this all about?

It's about you.

You're in grave danger.

What do you mean?

The case you're working on.

The young girl.

Tatiana McMurdo? What do you know about her?

The green hand.

The bleeding candle.

The animal sacrifice.

I've seen all these signs before.

The forces surrounding her are more powerful and terrible than anything you

could imagine.

I've encountered demons before. You of all people would know that.

Nothing like this.

Not even close.

The demons came for her.

But now they're coming for you.

I wish you wouldn't be so hard on her.

She's very sensitive.

Our job as parents is twofold.

To raise children who spread the gospel. To teach them to function in society.

Tatiana can do neither.

Jonathan's special needs children have. Her only special need is a mother who

does not cater to her every whim.

I do not cater to her every whim.

I am just simply a mother who cares.

Don't start that again.

It's true. And Jonathan, you know what? You don't hide the fact that Tatiana is

not your own flesh and blood. That's crazy.

Party, party up!

Party up!

Thank you.

Tatiana had had another seizure, supposedly grand mal.

I couldn't help wonder what the connection was between the young girl

myself.

7 .26 a .m. I arrived at the

McMurders.

Once again, Tatiana had refused medical care, and she refused to see me.

I wondered, was it generational?

The moment I stepped onto the ground at the McMurder Ranch, I felt a force,

unfamiliar and unsettling.

It was as if someone or something didn't want me there.

Well, good morning.

Good morning, brother.

I'm Father Sanchico.

I've been requested to escort you off the property.

I'm here to see Tatiana McMurdo.

Well, Pastor Jonathan says that the Catholic people don't know God, so then

can't have a personal relationship with God.

Well, if having a personal relationship with God means really knowing God, then

how could one person know if another person really has a personal

I mean, after all, isn't that personal?

Because Pastor Jonathan said so.

I see.

Well, I'm not leaving until I talk to Catherine that we're here.

No, stop!

Lucas, no! What are you doing? Lucas, what are you doing?

Stop it!

Father, are you okay?

Yeah, I think so.

Father Sanchica, I thought that if he would just come and have a talk with

Tatiana as a psychiatrist, he could give his evaluation. You're the fellow in

the newspaper article, the exorcist.

This is my husband, Jonathan.

Nice meeting you, sir.

Well, allow me to be blunt, Father Sanchica.

Tatiana's under the care of a medical doctor, Dr. Jimenez.

John, I asked the father to come here as a psychiatrist to have a talk with

Tatiana and to evaluate her, and at my request, he came.

I believe your daughter could be ill.

That's like your wife said. I'm here at her request.

Well, yeah.

Unfortunately, she did not consult me before she spoke to you.

She needs help, John.

Do you have a restroom I could use?

Come on in, Father.

Thank you. The bathroom is right upstairs on the left.

Thanks.

It's without blood.

Father Sanchica!

Father Sanchica, are you okay?

Mrs. McMurder, I need Tatiana. Please call me Catherine.

Catherine? Yes.

I need your daughter's medical files.

Is that possible?

I'll try my best.

Great. Thanks.

Nice play, dear.

There are a variety of medical reasons for having lesions, sores, and even for

hearing voices.

But now it was time to find out.

Did she really have epilepsy?

Or was it the demon rearing its ugly head?

Yes, sirree, Orlando. I can see how this can really give a man a big appetite.

Oh. In our business, you eat when you can.

So who might this be?

This guy?

This? Captain Morgan.

Ah, sailor.

Nah.

Drinker.

I mean, with that much rum in him, makes my job easy.

He's already self -embalmed.

Excuse me.

Find anything interesting?

Our girl has some definite health issues.

She's anemic for sure, and mucus on her tissue tells me there is a virus or

infection of some kind, but it doesn't give me much.

Blood on a toothbrush cries anything from jelly bodies to pancreatic cancer.

Any signs of epilepsy or seizures?

No, not really.

It's hard to tell without an examination, but...

I've seen the underwear and blood samples downstairs at the lab for my

Well, maybe if you could just examine her. Oh, my God.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

I've got bodies on ice that should have been out of here days ago.

Look,

it's obvious this girl is sick.

From what you tell me, the family doesn't want you around.

So do yourself a favor and leave this one alone.

You know where I stand on demons, angels, and all you witch hunts.

But you also know how I feel about you.

And I'll do anything in my power to help you, but I can't just stand by and

watch you demonize yourself.

They're real, Nessa.

Of course they are, because you believe they're real.

Your wife and daughter have been dead for a while now.

And if you do believe in heaven, then you must believe they are in a better

place.

I know you have guilt.

But your wife was sick.

She was battling dark spirits.

She was sick, Michael. Sick.

Diagnosed as a chronic manic depressive.

I read the file.

They screwed with the files. And they manipulated the doctors.

They screwed with the files? Who? Who are they?

I don't know.

Michael.

So if Tatiana didn't have epilepsy, what happened in that bedroom?

And where did she get those cuts and bruises?

It's pretty, Mother.

You sewed every stitch.

With love, my baby.

Do you think Daddy will like it?

I'm sure.

I thought about the case of Tatiana McMurder, the more convinced I became

our fates were somehow intertwined.

I didn't know how or why, but I knew this case had something to do with my

my daughter, and me.

Boy, it's hot.

Sure, isn't it?

Cool. Mmm, finger lickin' good.

Get your fingers out of my salad.

I'm hungry as a horse.

It's gonna be ready in just a minute.

Mmm.

You know, I was just thinking, I cannot even remember the last time we went on a

family picnic.

Can you?

Yeah. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Well, it's good, Mom.

That's nice, sweetie.

But... We're just going on a family picnic.

Aren't you afraid you're going to get your pretty dress all dirty?

Be careful. I just want to look nice.

Hey.

What do you think, Daddy?

You look like a tramp.

Go take that makeup off while someone sees you.

John?

Tati? Oh, let her go.

Tati!

Honey, I'm sorry for what your father said. Ugly, ugly.

Little whore.

I told you to take that make -up off!

You brat!

I could feel the essence of something pulling me.

A force, but I didn't recognize the surroundings.

Only a feeling that I had tried so hard to forget.

Exorcism is a ceremony only to be used as a last resort.

Considering how well it worked out when you tried it on your wife.

I ask, oh God, that you bestow thy blessings upon this child, Laura, and

every beauty shall leave her body right now in the world of Jesus.

Oh, Kathy.

The demons came for her.

Diagnosed as a chronic manic depression. I read the file.

I need to go to Michael.

Thank you very much.

I got you.

This is Chica.

I got the information right here.

My retardation suffers from cerebral palsy since birth.

Yeah, let me see here.

He was born deaf.

He has never spoken a word.

Are you sure?

Uh -uh. He has no vocal cords.

Anything else?

No, I guess that's it. Thanks, Nessa.

You got it.

Just because he had cerebral palsy, It didn't explain the sores.

And when I shined the light in his eyes... Good night, William.

His pupils were already dilated.

Little boy blue.

You quit now, and the girl is finished.

The demon will have its way. The demon is having its way.

And all people want to do is play politics, religion, and medicine.

That's why you can't give up.

I'm out of options.

Do it tonight.

I can't. I need more time. You don't have any.

3 a .m., Michael.

But you can't do it for the girl.

And for yourself.

Do it for your wife and your missing daughter.

What are you doing?

So now this is where we are.

Tatiana has slipped into a coma.

And the demon has taken over.

8 .39 p .m. I called Nessa and asked her to meet me there.

She had already started the examination.

I intentionally ignored the demon possessing Tatiana.

I gave it no audience.

I'd seen it before.

An upside -down burning cross is a demon's way of thing.

The soul belongs to me.

Michael.

Oh, my God.

What is that?

What do you make of that?

That's Sephira.

The children at the mission.

They all have a secret code.

Tatiana's is Sephira.

And what does Sephira mean?

It means I'm in trouble.

I'm going to need Tatiana's medical files from the good doctor.

You want to do the honors?

You better let me handle that.

There was something in those medical files Mrs. McMurder didn't want us to

You look tired.

You should get some sleep.

I got a lab report back this afternoon.

They found blood in her undergarment.

What? They ran the blood, but they couldn't find anything.

Nothing? Mm -hmm.

Can you hold her arm?

Sure.

So they didn't find anything? Nothing.

I'm going to collect some blood samples for the lab and do a pap smear, but

I'm a little bit in the dark at this point.

She shows absolutely no evidence of epilepsy.

Her breathing is shallow.

And according to her other vital signs, she should be dead.

She has no pulse, Michael.

Lucas?

I'm sorry.

I didn't mean to hurt you.

And I'm sorry, Mr. Sanjika.

I can't call you father.

It says in the Bible, you know, that you can't call no man

father unless it's the Lord.

It's okay, Lucas, huh?

Mr. Sanjika.

They live.

They live.

Who lives?

Lucas.

Lucas.

Thank you.

Mr. McMurder.

I know what I have to do, and I don't have much time.

I'm going to ask you just one more time not to go through with this.

She needs a doctor, a real medical doctor.

There's no doctor that's going to help your daughter now, Mr. McMurder.

She's been taken over.

You're not asking me to believe that there's a demon living in her body?

Not a demon.

Many demons.

But there's one that's dominant, and that's the one that wants to kill

But why?

Now, if I had the answer to that, I'd know his name.

And if I had his name, this would be a lot easier.

I read the newspaper article about your wife and daughter.

I'm truly sorry, I am.

But risking Tatiana's life...

will not bring back your wife and daughter.

Do you think I want to do this?

Do you think I enjoy watching Tatiana go through hell?

If it was up to me, it'd be a perfect world, Mr. McMurder. But it's not.

You are a man of conviction, Father Conchica.

I can see that.

But I just pray that your conviction doesn't issue a death warrant for

Mom? What's wrong, Michael?

I'm having those bad dreams again.

I'm seeing demons.

God is going to take care of you.

He loves you because you're special.

He's going to send angels to watch over you.

So you keep saying your prayers. Have faith.

I love you.

Little boy in blue.

It's about the blood.

The demon knows my name, but God knows my heart.

And I know that in order to move forward, I have to go back.

It's okay.

Big hero.

Hey, you're my wife.

Come here, Shonda.

White

female,

34 -year -old, like trauma.

Now, medical coroner's still got to make a positive ID, but it looks like it

might have been spiritual, of course, trauma.

They screwed with the files.

Kathy!

Shonda!

I ask, O God, that you bestow thy blessings upon this child, Lord, and

every demon shall leave her body right now in the name of Jesus.

Exorcism is only to be used as a last resort.

God has given you this purpose.

You can do it, Michael.

Just have faith.

The Lord is my shepherd.

I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul.

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his namesake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no

evil, for thou art with me.

Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

Thou preparest the table before me in the presence of mine enemies.

Thou anointest my head with oil.

My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever.

I exercise the most vile spirit, the very embodiment of our enemy, the entire

specter, the whole legion, in the name of Jesus Christ, yield and flee from

creature of God.

Hear, therefore, Satan in fear, destroyer of justice, root of evil,

vices, seducer of men.

Michael, this is not working.

Betrayer of nations, insider of envy, cause of discord, producer of sorrows.

Well, look at her.

Why do you stand and fight against Jesus Christ when you know he will destroy

you?

I need to check her vitals again in about seven minutes.

What's going on, Michael?

Her system can't take much more. Anita, can you?

Nessa was right.

Her system couldn't take much more.

But I was out of options.

And I knew there was no turning back.

Mom, it's okay.

Everything's fine, don't be.

Baby, are you all right?

Please, don't touch me, Mom.

Okay, baby.

These sores hurt a lot. I'm sorry.

Your mommy loves you.

Please untie me.

She's all right now, Father. It's okay.

She's healed.

Tatiana, are you all right?

I think so.

Praise the Lord.

You've been through a lot. Why don't you have a seat?

I want my daughter back.

Please.

I know it's kind of late for this, but... I need to move on.

You've got me in trouble.

Yeah.

That's a problem.

I've been striving to be good at the expense of everybody else's feelings.

Especially Tuck Jack.

Demon, you leave the children alone. Do you hear me?

Leave the children alone!

You want somebody?

Take me.

You hear me? Take me!

You've got a deal.

I can't do more.

Ten of the Lord's hands now.

I hope so.

Can I ask you something? Why 3 a .m.? What's so important about time?

Well, it's believed that exorcisms are most effective during this time,

3 a .m.

The reaching hour?

Between the gates to hell are unlocked and open.

I believe an apology is in order.

No apology needed, Mr. McMurder.

You know, I've been realizing that there's a difference between religion

relationships.

See, I preached the law of God, but I forgot about God's love.

And now, look what I've done to Tatiana.

Don't blame yourself.

Sometimes the church is the devil's favorite playground.

Are there really demons living inside Tatiana?

They're called Legion.

Who are we? Matthew.

They're the same demons that Jesus cast out of the man at the tombs and into the

swine.

Tatiana has always had a fascination with our pigs.

But that was 2 ,000 years ago.

Are you saying after 2 ,000 years that we could have... What I'm saying is 2

,000 years don't mean anything to them.

Is she going to make it, Father?

Can you tell me anything else about Tatiana?

Friends?

Acquaintances? Relationships?

Anything at all?

I told you all I know, Father.

I've got to go.

Thank you for watching.

3 a .m. is said to be a demon's strongest hour.

But I believe it's also when Jesus died and went into the pits of hell.

A demon's worst nightmare.

Lord, I need your help.

This yoke is too heavy to bear

I Need strength

and I need wisdom

Girls, are you lousy? Now I'll put you in hell. God, what's he be getting out

you?

Help

me,

please.

Help me.

Tell me how I can help you.

You hurt me.

Who hurt you?

Uncle Lucas.

Tell me your name.

Tatiana.

It's about the blood.

I knew now what I had to do.

Someone lives and someone dies.

It's hard to face the demon.

But I had no choice.

You wanted to spoil the fun.

And ruin our deal.

All in the name of love.

You mean lust.

Don't you ink of us.

So you know.

It's too late.

We have a deal.

My wife and daughter. It was you, wasn't it?

Very good.

Bravo.

Why? Your loving wife's father and I molested her.

In the early age of five, until she was old enough to make him adopt.

But it was too late. I destroyed her, and through her, I destroyed

your daughter.

But it was me you were after all along.

And I would have gotten you if it weren't for your luck.

I'm not the custodian of evil.

I'm just the initiator of it, my boy.

Time's up.

It's going to take you.

Mom?

I'm seeing demons. God is going to take care of you because you're special.

God has given you this purpose.

Help me, please.

Neither one of us.

That's why you can't give up.

God has given you.

You can do it, Michael.

Just have faith.

Without our blood.

Come out in the name of the Father, the Son,

and the Holy Spirit.

Believe in God because he believes in you.

Come out in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Send us out.

And if you do believe in heaven, you must believe they are in a better place.

I do believe in heaven.

Kathy!

Shonda!

And I do believe they are in a better place.

And I know one day, we'll all be together.

In Catherine McMurder, she's also in a better place.

She has her daughter back and her family.

Demons are real, and they're hungry for souls.

Without the blood, eternity is a long time to suffer.

I'm Michael Sanchica, and this is Case Study 005.

The devil, he would say, don't let this last breath

fool you.

Don't think it's the end.

Don't think it's the end.

Because on the third day, my dead body's going to rise

again.
