In season two, we have lots
of new monsters, lots of new enemies,

lots of new adventures,
and new islands, and new pirates.

-The entrance to the Grand Line.
-It gets a lot harder from here.

I'm super excited for this season.

A lot of crazy different worlds
that we get to visit.

You get a Western. You get Jurassic Park.
You're inside of a whale.

A lot of tricky set pieces to pull off.
It's just insane.

Oda told us
everything should be bigger this season,

and it took a lot of work to create.

And Tom Hannam and his team
did an amazing job,

using a combination
of real-world touchstones

and Oda's inspirations.

What's in Loguetown?

Where the legend of the One Piece
was born.

Getting the opportunity
to film in Loguetown was so incredible.

-It actually looks like a city.
-Oda based Loguetown on Florence.

There are architectural details
that we refer to,

including a bunch of Easter eggs.

The gate is a reference
to the gate in the manga,

and quite a lot of the shop names
are Oda's own brands that he made up.

So much effort was put
into recreating it in live action.

That made me happy.

I want to see the execution platform.

We ended up building a fairground
in the execution square,

which helped tie in
the character of Buggy.

Don't you understand the lesson yet, kid?

It was a really good set to play with.

Give me back my crew!

Such a lovely story about Laboon,
left behind by the Rumbar pirates.

The interior of the whale
and the lighthouse

are some of the most fun sets
we've ever done.

Laboon might be my favorite set.
The details,

like stomach acid, the decomposing bodies.

It's like a five-story-high building
that's shaped like the inside of a whale.

It was just awesome.

The lighthouse is pretty sick.

There's a lot of these little details
and Easter eggs,

and this mad scientist's lab.

This is an absolutely phenomenal
and very intricate set,

which has references
to the sea, maps, telescopes.

And outside, there are giant crocuses.

Some of the best navigators in the world

couldn't get as far
as you've come already.

My favorite prop of the season
is most probably Nami's Log Pose.

Cast it out of brass,
and it actually works as a compass.

It's our very first island
in the Grand Line!

I'd like to extend to you all
our warmest welcome.

For Whiskey Peak, I put in a lot of shops
that sell things that pirates would like

to emphasize the idea
everything's designed to lure them in.

In the manga,
it gives a reference to Taos Pueblo,

so I painted the whole thing pink,
which made it very attractive.

The One Piece season two sets
have blown me away.

You'll walk around, and you'll think,
"This will never be in shot."

And yet, so much attention to detail
has been put into it.

So let's celebrate!

Yeah!

We've had some great fun with
everybody's wardrobes this season.

Our goal is to really push the boundaries

and explore within the character
and the world.

Look who we have here.

And we wanted to make sure that it looks
like they've just burst out of the manga.

Then we have Little Garden, of course.

What about these?

Are you sure those are edible?

Little Garden, we're running all around
a lot of wine farms,

bringing in ferns and giant palm trees
to make this prehistoric island.

Visually, one of the biggest sets for us
was the wax house,

where everything is pretty much wax.

In the manga,
the wax house is very simple.

It's really just a cube.

But we wanted to emphasize
Mr. 3 as a wax artist,

so we made the house a little more ornate.

Luffy, we found an island!

Drum Kingdom is sort of our medieval,
Winterfell, Game of Thrones episodes.

Obviously, Cape Town,
there's no snow here,

but you get to set and you feel like
you should be cold even when you're not.

They build so much of the sets.

It's really something
that you can touch with your hands.

We should be looking out for each other.

We've got a lot of interesting characters
that needed big constructions.

The collaboration was amazing,
from the costumes to the wigs,

to the makeup, to everything.

You don't want to fight me, punk.

I eat pretzel sticks like you
for breakfast!

Wapol is about two hours plus
of makeup and prosthetics placement,

but it is all worth it, because when you
see the incredible attention to detail,

from the movement of the jaw…

He's got these massive gauntlet gloves.

Some of the most impressive costume work
I've ever seen.

The artisanship, I admire it so much.

We wanted to bring to life
with authenticity this crazy world

Oda's drawn in the manga.

It's all these really far-fetched ideas
that somehow land.

I'm super proud of what the team created.

That is what I call teamwork.
