At times, when you put them

Homecoming at a HBCU

is one of
the greatest celebrations ever

because it's a time for alumni
to be proud of their alma mater,

and come back and celebrate
with the people

they came out
of the university with,

but also the current year.

Class of 2002.

Class of 1994.

I started here in '71.

Here at Norfolk State
University,

we have one of the biggest
homecomings in the area.

Behold the green and gold!

It's almost like
a family reunion.

You have the band,
you have the cheerleaders,

you have alumni cheer,
the alumni band.

You have concerts,

comedy shows,
step shows.

The performance of athletes
coming back out.

So you have a community
filled with people

who have pride
in the university.

During my time in the league,

a lot of players
seen themselves in me.

And bein' at a HBCU
allows me

to give back in the community,

The community has supported me
from day one.
