A year later, I began to believe I could
be as good as some of the other girls.

when it looked like everything was going my way.

Every day was good.

But there was once this great athlete
who said, no one is promised tomorrow.

But what happened then?

I remember as if it were
something I had dreamt.

courage to peek in on me.

And then after that, I started trying just a little
bit at first, you know, and a little bit more.

I knew I had it.

we can give ourselves.
