on staying on the right path

what had happened to me

shameful and harder.

What happened to you
was terrifying.

The thing that I have most
worried about with you,

And you've been carrying
the shame of it around.

in letting go of it.

that in that moment

I didn't want to run.

So let's say this next round
doesn't work.

Are you gonna want
to take a break

just to give your body a break?

Yeah, I don't know.
I think that would have to be

a bigger conversation,
because there are, you know,

lots of what-ifs.

I think the most terrifying
what-if to me right now, today,

is the fact that I know
that you want a baby.

And I'm afraid about
what if it doesn't happen.

That's to me the most terrifying
what-if.

No matter what, I know I still
want to marry you, okay?

Still want to call you
a stepdaughter,

or daughter one day.

You know, we'll keep things
moving forward.

I'm glad to hear that.

I have to trust what he says.

But at the same time,
I wonder whether or not

he's going to resent me

for keeping him from
being a father.

Or if he's going to feel
the need to make it happen,

regardless of me.

And that is an answer
I don't know that I have,

outside of what
he is telling me.

In the big scheme of things,
there are a lot of what-ifs.

I think one of my biggest fears
has always been, what if, like,

I lost my source of income,
or lost my job?

You know, how would you
still feel about me?

I mean, I'm not going to become
no deadbeat.

You'll never see me lazy.

But what if I couldn't do that?

Okay. Well, look, the thing is
that, like, I love you for you.

I think you provide more to me
than just financial security.

If those other things stop,

craziest anniversary for me.

It's exactly one year since
my whole entire life broke open.

happened, happened.

literally being on the ground,

The last two years were
probably the worst on and off

and reconciling and fighting,

and we're still this, you know?

But, some things happen
for reasons to force your hand.

And in this case, that weekend
of August 2nd, 3rd, 2024...

just made it real ----ing easy
to go.

And then it just went down.

In fact, when we were first
together in New York,

and he was an investment banker,

I was building my career

a day, seven days a week.

I was flying all over the world.
I was going to fashion weeks.

I was gone for three weeks
at a time.

And he never held me back.

Never. He was like, go, do, be.

He's like, he was so secure.

And everyone would ask him like,
how do you let her do that?

She's going styling all these
huge male celebrities,

these big male supermodels.

These guys are hitting on her
all the time.

Like whatever. And he was always
like, if they can get her,

they can have her.

But it worked, because I never
cheated on him.

Like, I would flirt with guys.
They would flirt with me.

And that was, like,
nothing ever.

And the one time I fooled around
with this model,

was, like, before
we got engaged.

He was the most beautiful thing
I'd ever seen in my life.

And I told him,
because I felt so bad.

I'm not...
I don't do that.

How long were you guys together
when you did that?

At that point, probably
four years at that point.

And then I told him that
I fooled around with this guy.

And I'm not joking,
he proposed to me the next day.

Like, what kind of marriage
are you setting yourself up for?

And guess what?

I got a big diamond
the next day.

I mean, that's sort of
setting the precedence, no?

he made it very clear

that he was very happy
in who he had become.

I'd spend another six years
being loyal,

waiting for someone
that I once knew to come back.
