which all Wyatt's friends had long predicted

began as a rough and ready frontier joke.

Pinky Town resisted and Doc Holiday

noted for his cantankerous humor

joined the Pinky Town citizens in a rebellion.

This brought Doc into conflict with Marshal Earp.

It seemed inevitable that the two fastest guns

on the western prairie must meet in a showdown with 45's.
