Because getting old... is made up of a
lot of memories.

And that means that I can take those
memories and trade them off with friends

who have the same kind of memories that
I have.

And I like that. Oh, I like the hours
with you running around and trying to

out who had the best chocolate ice
cream.

And we're not going to lose those hours.

But, you know, something takes over and
your life starts to slow up.

And I like that, too.

But I don't want to slow you up.

You can understand that, can't you?

Can we still love each other?

In a world like this? How can we not
love each other?

Oh.

I'm sorry, but I'm telling you, until
Mrs. Berg gets here with those shoes,

kids can't dance a lick.

Well, isn't there something else we can
do? Catherine, the girls are wearing

heels and half the boys are in jogging
shoes.

Well, who was supposed to get all that
stuff here? Mrs. Berg.

It was her responsibility to bring
everything in time for the show.

Excuse me, but Mrs. Berg will probably
be here. I saw her before at the school

and she said that she would see me
later.

How'd she know I was coming here? I
didn't know.

Look, look, I got this feeling that what
Mrs. Berg was supposed to bring here,

she brought to my dad's garage for a
surprise party.

What? Don't ask.

If the woman heard there was going to be
a surprise party, she's certainly not

going to say see you later.

I think I have a most unhappy
announcement to make.

Thank you very much, but I fear your
applause is at best a little premature.

Our plans to share with you some of the
magic our students create, well, this

has apparently become a promise we
cannot keep.

There will be no show this evening.

There has been a slight logistical
problem, and I'm very, very sorry.

I came here to see a show of one sort or
another and to hear my granddaughter

sing, and I'm not going to be
disappointed.

Emmett? Emmett. There you are. Come on.

Come on right up here and you sit down
here and play something out of the book

that we all know.

And there's one thing we all know that
the young folks don't know, right? Life

is too short to miss a good time, right?

So when we sing, let's everybody join
