running out of options.

After investing over $5 million on new
gear, Tony was dealt a major blow when

his license to mine on the Indian River
was denied.

But he's come out swinging.

With the 80 -pup cut just days away from
being mined out, Tony is on the hunt

for a quick hit to fill the coffers.

80 -pup has not been a lot forever.

Now it's the time to check out these
spots that the guy keeps an eye on for

just can't get them.

the glory hole is surrounded by an 80

-foot bank on one side and a mined -out
mega -cut on the other.

Too far to move the water across the
cut, Tony will attempt to pump it over

80 -foot bank and into a ditch.

What I'm doing right now is digging a
little bit of ditch.

We're going to pump the water out.

So, if you bump it in the ditch, say
you're putting in a couple hundred feet

pipe.

This way you can just re -flow off the
hill good enough.

We're using the pipe because the pipe
won't break.

Plus, it actually works nice in the
dark.

But halfway through the season, he's
barely a quarter of a way to his 2 ,000

He is so lean, we've just been hammered
as much paint through Rocky as we can.

And because of that, I mean, the cracks
are starting to show.

The crew's been doing its best to keep
the thing running, keeping it attached

together, putting band -aids on it,
basically.

But it's only a matter of time before it
falls apart completely.

With just the skeleton crew, no
mechanic.

and a wash plant in need of a brand new
top deck, Rick has called in the best,

Yukon legends Freddy Dodge and Juan
Ibarra to help put his season back on

I've known Rick for 10 years anyway, and
we always got along really good. We've

had kind of a camaraderie.

Rick, I've helped out on multiple
occasions over the years. I've got him

quite a few binds.

And those cross members are bent right

So there's more work here than what was
anticipated.

chew in the few days we're here.

To get back up and running, Tyson plans
to bypass the alternator using a gas

-powered light tower and a charger to

is finally drained, allowing Ruby
Mahoney to load pay.

all through the machine here as quick as

Half a mile downhill, a 900 -horsepower
pump is supposed to send water

from the feeder pond up to the trommel.

This is all, this is stress time.

Now this is the pump that runs the
trommel.

These are our pre -cups for the
injectors.

All of them are leaking water out of
here, which means that they... The

injector pre -cups have overheated and
cracked, leaking coolant into the

cylinder heads, causing complete engine
failure.

Primarily we use this one because it can
get us to the height, because it's 300

feet plus to get up to the trommel, and
you need a big, tough engine and pump to

get there.

The beats have a backup pump, but it's
been sitting idle for over a year.

This is a D348. This is a backup pump
for the D398.

So now we're really hoping we can get
this thing pumping up the hill.

That's our biggest issue. We've got
plenty of pumps, but to get them to 300

feet up the hill is the thing.

So, if this thing's down, we're down.

Tony and Kevin then fashion an offshoot
to the pump's water outlet and connect a

If that water doesn't keep it cool,
it'll fall out slow.

Ibarra are three days into the fix of
Rocky, Rick's aging wash plant.

You know, this is something they should
have taken on on the off season. I see

why they didn't do it, because it's a
big job.

But I'm hoping that Freddie and I have
enough time to be able to get this done.

There's no ease in store. That's for
dang sure.

But all we can do is just keep going.

With the cutting and pre -welding

It's time to drop in the massive punch
plates.

Each section weighs in at a whopping 1

plates and then just do any finish -up
welding.

finishing touches.

and get these bad boys in.

The new screen deck has three inside
edges where no holes fit.

pick by putting in 12 kickers to divert
pay dirt into the center of the screen.
