On borgvattnet, sweden.

This is the farthest north
That ghi has ever been.

And brandy tells me
That we're actually heading

To a huge
Metropolitan area

That consists of 40 people
In this town.

So, she's gonna fill us in
On why exactly we're heading

This far north to see
So few people.

We are headed to what is known
As sweden's most haunted inn.

And like robb said,
We are actually headed

About 15 miles south
Of the arctic circle.

The inn was originally built
As a vicarage in 1876,

And a vicarage
Is basically a house

For the local parish priests.

Now, I have come to learn
That at one point,

The wife of one of the residing
Chaplains had died,

And the chaplain couldn't stand
The idea of losing her,

so he actually removed her body
From the mortuary

and took her back to the house

And kept her there for a while

Before burying her
On the property.

That's kind of romantic.

Or a little bit sick--
One or the other.

Yeah, it's a little
Different.

It is believed that her spirit
Still roams the inn.

All right, we're here.

So, let's get the cars parked
And see what we got.

Hi.

I'm so excited

Anna: I really hope

With some physical proof,
Like what might be causing it.

Tell us a little about
The history of this place.

This house was built in 1876

And was a residence
For the priests.

Priests lived here
Until 1948.

And then a couple
Bought this place

As their own private residence
For about 20 years.

And how did it become
An inn today?

In 1970, the local businessman
In this village

Bought this place
And made it into a hotel.

Could you take us
On a tour around

And show us the hot spots?
That would be terrific.

Into the dining room.

And it's actually
This piece of furniture

That got it all started.

The last priest
That lived here--

He was actually sitting in
This rocking chair one night,

And all of a sudden, the chair
Starts to lean forward.

So he puts his feet down,
But he couldn't hold it.

Like a cold rush
Went through his body,

And then he was just kind of
Thrown out of the chair.

Have you ever experienced
Anything with this chair?
It moves.

You can come in here
And clean the floor

And everything and just put it
Back in its place,

And when you come in here,
It could be on the other
Side of the room.

So, where are we
Off to next?

What we're entering here
Is the pink room.

And this was the office
For the priest.

And what's particular
About this room is--

People are felt,
Like, sitting on them,

Sitting on the side
Of the bed and,

Like, kind of patting their legs
And their upper body.

All right.
Where are we heading next?

This is the old office,
Where they would stay and work.

But this room is so crazy.

Like, you would always
Get bothered in here.

And, as you can see,
The mud room is right there.

Daniel: suddenly, I heard
The front door went open,

so I went out to the mud room
Just to greet the guests

that I thought had arrived.

But then I heard footsteps,

And they were walking
Towards me.

And the steps stopped
Right beside me.

But I didn't see anyone.

So, these are the stairs
Heading upstairs.

Right now we're gonna head
Into the blue room.

What happens
In here is that

You would hear
A small child cry.

In the early 19th century,

There was a girl working here
For the priests,

And she was 20, 21.

And she got pregnant
With a priest.

And that was
A big, big shame.

So, she gave birth to the child
And killed it.

And she buried it right
Outside this house,

And that is the child that you
Would hear crying at night.

So, do you know exactly
Where this child was buried?

Right outside
Our window here.

Nobody has ever found
The body.

All right, where to next?

We're gonna go
To the yellow room,

But that's the room
I don't go into.

Back in the day,
A family staying here--

They had nine children.

The wife actually died in there,
Giving birth,

And her husband-- he totally
Lost his mind after she died.

So he actually went to
The morgue to get her back.

So he brought
His dead wife back here

And held her in this room.

And people have woken up
Hearing her screaming

From giving birth.

And sometimes this door
Will just close.

I was standing right
In the middle of this room,

And I was giving a tour
For some people.

It was right in the middle
Of the hot summer.

All of a sudden, I feel
A cold chill down my spine,

And it was just like someone put
A block of ice on my back.

When I was heading out,

Something pushed me
In my shoulders,

And I just flew out of the room
And just landed out here.

And ever since that, I feel like
I'm not welcome in there.

So you feel fine and comfortable
In the rest of the house,

As long as you don't go
Through that door.
Yes.

Our work cut out for us.

Paranormal investigations,

And I've always heard
These claims of beds

That quaked and tremored
Or lifted off the ground.

And tonight was the first time

That I've ever actually
Experienced that.

it's completely still now.

I don't understand it.

I mean, there's nothing here.

We weren't walking,

It felt as if
There was a tug on it.

So it's inquisitive.

Started to happen.

in this case,
We had some experiences

that we had multiple
Investigators involved with.

Dustin was sitting on the bed
In the yellow room

With another investigator,
Angela, on the opposite bed,

When she, you know, said,
"Bed's starting to vibrate."

And dustin's thinking
To himself, "Sure."

Puts his hand on it
And noticed that,

"Yes, absolutely.

"The entire bed
In the yellow room

Is vibrating and shaking."

That's scary.

Later on in the night,

barry and myself went back up
To the yellow room.

and we kind of split up

between the yellow room
And the blue room.

Then barry,
While sitting on the bed,

Noticed the cover of the bed
Being pulled on.

And barry looks up
Into the corner,

And he sees a black figure,
Like a shadow,

Leaning over,
Looking at the equipment.

Wow.

But like I said earlier,
That's personal experiences.

That's nothing that
We can show you here.

So we can't consider
That evidence.

But we did capture
Some physical evidence

I'd like to show you.

We left one wireless microphone
Recording the entire night,

And we got a voice
That appeared on that.

So we started taking

With a piece of equipment.

It's called
A full-spectrum camera.

There was something that did
Come up in these photographs

So, this, I'm sure,
Looks familiar to you,

Maybe not from the inside

Since you don't go
In there very often.

But this is
The yellow room.

We look at this first one--
Nothing unusual.

Look at this second photo--
Also nothing unusual.

And then he took
This third photo.

What we saw in here

Is you can see the semblance
Of a cross.

Oh, right there, yeah.

The only thing that made us
Question it

Is the fact that if you look
At this doorknob here,

It's got kind of
A similar shape to it.

Definitely something unusual
We wanted you to see.

And one of the things
That I was able to find out

Was the priest that kept his
Deceased wife in that room--

After a period of time,
He did, in fact, bury her.

Oh, really?

But then when it was his time
To leave the house,

He dug her back up and took her
With him to wherever he went.

Wow. Now I'm never gonna go
In there again.

Definitely not.

I don't think it was
Necessarily our intention

To make sure that you never
Went in that room again.

But given the voice
And this kind of strange photo,

There's not enough
Evidence for us,

During our investigation, to say
This is a haunted location.

And even though
I'll honor your decision

Never to set foot
In there again,

I don't really, honestly,
In my opinion,

Feel like you have
Anything to be concerned
With in this house.

To know that, as well,

That there's nothing
To worry about.

In the 13th and 14th centuries,

And up until 1830, it was used
For military purposes.

The fort is now used
Partially as a museum.

Now, the activity
That is said to occur here

includes sightings
Of full-bodied apparitions,

A headless knight, a dark figure
Of a lady who roams the grounds,

As well as intense feelings
Of uneasiness and anguish.

Is part of the fort.

About the history?

You're standing
On a mountain

That had been used
As a guard mountain

As long back
As viking age.

In the 1330s,
There was a castle built here.

And then they built a fortress
Around the castle.

So the fortress was finished
Around 1618.

And then they turned this
Into a prison.

And then it turned
Into a museum.

We understand there's some
Paranormal goings-on, as well?

Where the activity is,

This is the old stronghold
From the 14th century.

And here, you have one
Of our oldest employees.

This is a man that we call
The boxed-in man.

He was actually, we think,
Murdered somewhere around 1350,

Placed in a peat bog.

Someone then chose
To pierce this man
Quite thoroughly,

Right through his heart,

To prevent him
From becoming a ghost,

To come back and haunt
The people

And, you know,
Revenge and so on.

We had these long passageways
And these large arched rooms.

The acoustics are crazy
In here.

At one point, barry and I
Thought we heard

The sound of the cannons
Rolling, like we've been told.

But upon further review
Of our evidence,

When we checked
Our voice recorders,

It turns out it was just a car
That went by the door

At the top
Of the passageway.

But that's just an example
Of how the sounds carry in here.

So, what we did-- when we went
Through all the equipment,

All the digital
Voice recorders,

All the photographs,
All the video,

We did not find
Anything paranormal.

In my honest opinion,

I don't believe
This place is haunted.

Well, in a way,
It's actually a relief

To know that everyone
Who has been here, living,

And are now dead,
Actually are at peace.

And it's a relief for some
Of the people working here

Who might feel a bit,
You know, scared

About meeting ghosts.

So I'm actually
Quite pleased.

Yeah, and it's
A beautiful fort.

I mean, this place
Was gorgeous.

And I had an absolute blast
Investigating here.

I actually am on
Hat number two right now

Because when joe and I
Decided to thermal sweep,

The wind got
Hat number one.

I have never seen
Anything like that.
