the real felipe fortress
Here in lima.

The fortress itself
Was constructed in 1747.

The name was actually given
In honor

Of the spanish king philip v,
Who reigned in spain--

Mostly on the plain.

So there's a ton
Of paranormal claims

Coming out
Of the queen's tower,

Where there was a suicide
By a soldier.

And there's also
An apparition

Of a little boy
That has been seen, as well.

The fortress today
Is partially used as a museum.

But it's still
An active military fort.

So there are still soldiers

That work here
And maintain the fort itself.

Barry, I'm gonna tell you
Right off the bat,

The reports we're getting
Is this place is huge.

And I know we're used to
Some big places,

But I think that this one
Is gonna be a little tough.

Well, we've got everything

During the late 1500s,

The spaniards decide to start
New colonies in south america.

the main big colony they got
Was peru,

and they got really excited
Because the amount of gold

and silver that was extracted
From the mines using the indians

was a cheap and good deal
For them.

The big problem they have
Is that after a few years,

Many pirates were surrounding
The coast of peru.

In 1747, the vice-king
Decided to build up a fortress

In order to protect
The king's gold.

But it took 24 years
To finish the fortress.

Follow me on this way.

I want to show you something you
Might find really interesting.

Let me show you inside
The king's tower.

gentlemen, this is one
Of the most scary things

when I think twice about
What people went through here.

They put so many people inside
The jail, they couldn't move.

They actually went
Body to body,

And they only could spin
Over edge.

This is so tight,

It was the most rigorous
Punishment they could get.

But imagine of this--
You can't even move,

And there was more
Than 70 bodies,

And they couldn't
Sit down.

When they wanted
To eat something,

They used
This particular window,

And they set up the food here,
But they just put one dish,

And people was getting into
A huge fight

With trying to reach
That.

One dish for all 70?
Yes.

Is there any paranormal activity
That goes on in this area?

Yes, many of the people
Who work here

And some of the visitors have
Experienced different things--

Noise, screams,

Sometimes the sound of a spoon
Hitting each other,

Like a dish or something,
Like they were complaining.

this is a ramp they used,
As many other ramps,

to bring up the weaponry.

I heard a noise behind me.

Then I saw a dark shape
Moving from left to right

I was very frightened

and there is a story
That happened also here.

one of the tour guides
Was supposed to meet

another friend,
Another tour guide here.

When this tour guide
Was down there,

She heard her friend
Calling her.

So she said, "Where are you?"
And no answer.

But her name
Was called again.

She came out this way,
And when she got here,

There was nobody else here.

Do we know
If it was a male voice

Or a female voice
Calling her?

She said she recognized
Her friend's voice calling her.

So it was a female.

Sounds like
A mimic.
Yeah.

Mimicking is a unique situation
In the paranormal

In which a spirit is said to
Imitate the sound of the voice

Of one of the investigators

Or even to repeat a word
Or phrase that they had said.

Come this way, please.

There is a reason
Why they have set up this flag

in this particular place.

during the independence battle,

about 2,500 soldiers
Along the whole fortress

shooting that way
And getting shot back.

During the battle,

This particular soldier
Was so desperate

Because the nightmare
Going on here.

And he saw spaniards trying
To come this way,

So he ran in this direction
And fell down, and the kid died.

Some of the soldiers
Have said

That they have seen
A kid screaming,

Running toward direction--

Different soldiers
During the last three years.

[ speaking spanish ]

interpreter:
When I was on top,

I couldn't believe
What was happening.

Every time I closed my eyes,
I felt a feeling of terror.

I felt very dizzy,

And my son and daughter
Asked me what was going on.

And suddenly I started to run
Toward the edge

With a very strong feeling
To jump off

And finish the whole massacre.

My son and daughter
Grabbed ahold of me,

And that's the only reason
I didn't jump off.

Rivas:
This is the governor's house.

there were two
Of our visitors

who were walking towards
That direction

And admiring the pieces
On the wall.

Suddenly,
They turn around,

And they saw this little kid
Looking at them

From a showcase
All the way to the back.

After that,

They have seen the kid
Running towards this area,

And on the way,
He fades out, he fades away.

When they saw this child
At the end,

Did they give a description

You know those sort of
Sailor suits from the 1800s?

Blue navy with this kind
Of circular white collar.

And the kid was just looking
At them.

So this is basically
The end of the tour.

That home had an experience.

So it was that
That prompted my desire

That I was experiencing.

I heard footsteps coming down
The hallway towards me.

That I heard noise down here.

I went up that alleyway.
There was nothing there.

And I just got a loud bang.

There was knocking, banging.

It was anything paranormal.

It's not the roomiest of places.

So they were, like, you know,

That's where they would leave
Food for them.

So you can imagine,
If you're down one of the ends,

You're not getting
Any food.

That's horrible.

With paranormal activity.

At this guy.

I know that the rig that we were
Using was pointed toward brandy.

That the thermal has caught
At least some form

Stepping out from that statue.

The actual battle was going on,

it was a younger guy
Who was working here,

and he ends up running
And just jumping off the edge.

have experienced urges to run
And just jump off the edge.

visible-light spectrum,
And the ultraviolets.

With the spirits that may

It helps to kind of build

But obviously we always want

Walking from the king's tower

To the queen's tower.

Voice recorder was reviewed,

This is what came up.

You'll hear us having
A little conversation.

Then there's a whispered voice
In here that is not ours.

It's kind of hard to hear,
So I'm gonna isolate it for you

So you can just hear
What we heard there.

Yes,
And it says "Reina."

It's perfectly spanish.

It's a female whisper saying
"Reina" or something like that.

You don't mind

And this is happening

A lot of our doubts,

We have been experiencing

Those kind of stories from the
Soldiers when they're on guard,

If anything showed up.

You don't see anybody
Or anything.

So it had time to move.
