Sure, the science is a little flimsy on
this topic, but hey, if you follow this

diet, you'll be a lot healthier. And
there's no doubt that will improve your

Now, even in these enlightened times,
some women feel dissatisfied with their

vaginas. The awful term designer vagina
has even entered our vocabulary, for

goodness sake.

One man, though, is making a stand and
helping women feel better about their

bits. All in the name of art.

Vaginas come in all different shapes and
sizes.

No two are the same.

However, not all women love their
vaginas. And as it's not easily

woman's vagina can remain a mystery to
her.

Sadly, as a result, many women feel
uncomfortable about oral sex and avoid

instead of actively enjoying it.

Experimental sculptor Jamie McCartney
wants to change all that and make women

lose their inhibitions about their
vaginas.

He's been moulding and collecting
women's bits for his Design a Vagina art

project.

I started this project about a year ago.
In that time, I'd managed to cast about

40...

I've discovered that women were just as
uncomfortable with their genitals and

just as sort of nervous about them as
men are.

The reason for doing this was to sort of
show whatever they've got is normal.

Vagina number 40 in Jamie's project and
today's Fannycaster volunteer is 22

-year -old Naomi Warren.

The first time I had oral sex was with
one of my first boyfriends.

I remember him telling me it looked
horribly like an ax wound and he didn't

really want to go down there at all,
which was fine, but I kind of thought

everyone would have that same thought
and not want to go anywhere near me, so

put me off for a while and didn't end up
doing that for a long time. I know a

lot of women have issues. A lot of women
don't want anyone going down near their

vagina at all.

I'm really excited to see what it will
look like in an individual way and

especially I'm looking forward to being
part of the art piece as well.

The first thing we're going to do is
obviously you need to take off your

trousers. Yes, I will. But just the
bottom half.

The stuff that I use is what dentists
use to cast your teeth.

It's kind of designed to go on and in
the body so it'll be safe, basically.

It just feels like I've just dived into
a swimming pool full of jelly.

I'm trying not to laugh too much in case
it starts wibbling around.

your work has had on women like Naomi?

I think it's been a really positive
experience for those women that have

back and seen their casts, which isn't
the majority, I must say, because it's

all anonymous. It's meant to be, and so
they all go into the pile and get mixed

up, unless they're specifically going to
come back and have a look. But, yeah, I

think it's been a very positive
experience for most women.

One of the things that strikes me about
this piece of work is the fact that

women are going to be able to have a
look at all of these different vulvas.

And one of the questions I asked Jamie
earlier was that do any of the women

oh, I wish mine looked like that? Do
women have an ideal sort of vulva that

think they should look like?

Well, they do. That's the thing. You
know, women do come in and they see

casts lying around or the completed
piece. And they go, oh, yeah, someone

oh, I wish mine was like that.

And then all these kind of
misconceptions. Oh, that must be a

and that must be a really old person.

And there's no relation, actually. In
fact, the one they always point out

that must be really young is actually
one of the oldest people in the thing.

Wow. So there are all these
misconceptions about what genitals are

look like.

Dr. Tachilia, why do you think so many
women are hung up about?

their vulva and their labia.

Historically, women's sexuality has
always been somewhat persecuted.

We know this over time. And that there's
something, you know, even the

Victorians thought it was unnatural for
women to want to have sex. And there was

all that lie back and think of England
stuff that we had going on over here. I

don't know whether you have something
similar in the States. But, you know,

it's... why should you be ashamed of
your body parts and what i really loved

about jamie's work is the fact that it
makes it very beautiful and very

accessible because it's not
gynecological so you can look at a

it doesn't feel like you're either
looking at porn or looking at something

that's really gynecological and a bit
medical you can actually really get a

sense of the beauty of the vulva and how
how different they all are like faces

Now, what are some of the differences
between men and women psychologically

it comes to masturbation?

I think the way that men fantasize about
masturbation is different from the way

that women do. We know that men often
think about repressed or unfulfilled

sexual desires, so naughty things,
things that perhaps they feel a little

guilty about. Whereas we know that women
tend to fantasize about...

experiences that they've really enjoyed,
things that they know, and that really

turns them on as well. And we also know
that men are much more stimulated by

visual stimuli than women are. So they
like a lot of porn. They like to see

of naked women, lots of men on women
action, lots of women on women action.

what are some of the psychological

It keeps you grounded, it keeps you in
touch with yourself, it keeps you in

touch with what's important and
valuable. It also means that your

I had a mother who didn't like me to
touch myself. And if she caught me with

little girl, she would smack me and tell

off and tell me not to do it. And then
she went through this weird stage where

she'd sort of sniff my fingers, which
made me feel so ashamed. Oh, my God.

Even now I feel so ashamed about it. And
then I was packed off to a convent

where we used to have to wear knickers
in the bath and we had to get undressed.

under our dressing gowns and we weren't

think I was conditioned really early on
in life not to touch my body, that

And so I think guilt actually starts to
become ingrained in you and you feel

guilty about something that you should
never feel guilty about. Your body

belongs to you, it's yours and you can

Well, I wish I was better at it myself.

Be relaxed. Find somewhere quiet and

like you have to wee. And for still

others, it's downright uncomfortable.

Now, if you are in the latter category,
there are some other great spots for you

to look out for.

There's the A spot, deep inside the
vaginal canal. Again, on the upper wall,

Then there's the perineal sponge, which

to do your kegels. You know when you

have to wee and you hold it? Well,
squeeze those muscles.

Contract, release, contract, and hold.
Do several repetitions throughout the

day, and you'll really notice a
difference in the power of your orgasms.

Most men like the sensation of deep
penetration.

A great position for this is the doggy.

This sensation can be improved if she
leans forward into the half -doggy.

Her vaginal canal lengthens and you can
thrust even deeper.

Be careful not to thrust too deep,
though, as you might hit the cervix.

Be gentle.
