When I found out
that it wasn't just me

and that he got away
with this, your blood boils.

Jeffrey Epstein
is gonna get away

with molesting me
and all my friends,

and the government's
cosigning it.

It's scary.

When you look
at the evidence,

it's utterly damning.

And then, in 2006,
the federal authorities

in Florida
begin an investigation

into Jeffrey Epstein.

They were expanding it
beyond Florida.

They were looking
at his properties

in New York and elsewhere.

They were starting to really
get into who this guy was,

where his investments were,
what he was doing.

Who really was
Jeffrey Epstein?

Truth is stranger
than fiction in this case.

I mean, we're talking
about hundreds of girls

being victimized,
which was really

just astonishing to me...

that this had gone on
for so long

and that there had been
so many people involved.

As attorneys who represent
the victims,

we were really trying
to expose the scheme,

and we were using Virginia's
voice to be able to do that.

The recruitment process
was never-ending,

so it wasn't like
he was finally set up.

He's got his five girls here,

there, there,
and there and there.

And so you were forced to try
to bring other girls in.

I call it a pyramid scheme.

"A" would talk to B,
B would talk to C

so on and so forth.

And these girls, that's how
it worked down the line.

Jeffrey had a particularly
elaborate seduction system.

He had women around him
that he trained

to understand
what he was looking for.

They would find
young potential victims

who were malleable,
who had some level of need

or some level
of naiveté about them.

I grew up in Dayton, Ohio,

surrounded by cornfields
and woods

that I often played in.

Growing up,
I always was into healing,

and my dad was a dentist.

My mom was a teacher,
and I've always had

a mission to help others,

and since I was a kid,
I've also had this dream

about going to California.

So when I was 22 years old,

I chose
a massage therapy school

in California and went.

I was very excited
and just ready

to take on the world.

One day, I was approached
by a student

further along in the program,
and she asked me

if I would be interested
in learning about

a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity

to be a traveling
massage therapist.

I was excited,
and I told her yes.

The next person
that I was in contact with

was Sarah Kellen.

Sarah Kellen was one
of the main recruiters

for Epstein.

Someone who approached girls,
rounded up girls,

and also did logistics.

The pyramid scheme started

with Ghislaine Maxwell
and Sarah Kellen.

Sarah was so successful
in bringing girls in.

She's telling you,

"You're gonna get
a really amazing job.

"This is gonna be
life-changing for you.

This is gonna be amazing."

Sarah and I met
at the Santa Monica Beach.

I felt comfortable
with her instantly.

We resembled one another
as far as age and hair color

and even just body type.

I kind of felt like, wow,
she's kind of just like me.

Sarah's telling me
about the position.

She had been this
personal massage therapist

traveling the world
for the last several years.

She said,
"You'll be filling my place."

She said,
"Imagine the most grand,

most amazing, incredible life
you could want,"

and she stopped speaking,

and I took a couple moments
thinking about that

and creating that image
in my mind.

She's like, "Teresa,
it is so much more

than you could ever,
ever imagine."

Sarah referred to Ms. Maxwell
who would be hiring me

for the position,

and the next steps
are for me to fly

to New York City
to meet Ms. Maxwell.

I thought that this was
the opportunity of a lifetime.

This was going to allow me
to see my dreams.

I arrive in New York City,
and I go meet with Ms. Maxwell

to give a massage.

I felt quite comfortable
with her.

There was a point
where she fell asleep

during the massage,
so I felt, like, wow,

this is really going well.

After the massage, she told me
that I was going to go

meet her partner, Jeffrey,

to continue
with the interview,

and that was
the very first time

I had heard his name.

She said to me,

"Make sure you give Jeffrey
what he wants.

Jeffrey always gets
what he wants."

The entire operation,
from start to finish,

was very calculated.

Before any individual
ever even met Jeffrey Epstein,

she had already met three
or four other people

who she felt like she trusted.

They were totally
out of their element.

They didn't know what
the rules were for this world,

so to have someone saying,

"These are the rules,"
effectively,

"This is normal.
This is how things are."

That's incredible powerful
as a tool of manipulation,

and I think Ghislaine
was essential

in fulfilling that role.

I went to Jeffrey's
townhouse that night

and met Jeffrey.

You walk in,
and it's pretty breathtaking.

One of the first things
I noticed when I walked in...

there was
a butler standing there.

The coat, the tux,
a silver tray in his hand.

You don't see that anywhere.
You see that in a movie.

He said, "Follow me this way,"
and then I met Jeffrey.

He led me over to a couch,
and he sat next to me.

He was asking me questions
about myself and my family.

Just in the middle
of conversation,

he put his foot on my lap

and asked me
for a foot massage.

And as I'm doing so,
he's pushing his foot

closer to my body.

He starts pushing
his heel between my legs.

Then he's pressing
the top of his foot...

like, literally his toes...
like, into my breast.

I was so confused.

Like, what
is going on right now?

None of it made sense
from the massage school

to meeting Sarah
to meeting Ghislaine

to now I'm here.

None of it added up.

I stood up to leave the room...

And he's following behind me,
and he grabbed me

from behind,
and I just completely froze.

He was just behind me,
and he assaulted me

there in that hallway.

I don't know how long
I was even standing there.

I ran straight
to the front door,

and he's following
right behind me,

and as I leave,
he patted me on my butt,

and he says to me,

"Don't do anything
I wouldn't do."

I felt very, you know,
afraid of him.

I felt an overwhelm
of shame and confusion.

For some reason, I felt
like I should have known,

like, it was
too good to be true.

I felt so fooled.

That individual
who has been groomed

feels that they had agency

and therefore
had some responsibility.

They do not understand that
by the time of the big reveal,

which is the sexual assault,
they were tricked.

I was targeted
by the student

at the massage school.

She spotted me
knowing what they wanted.

I was a human baton
passed along

from one person to the next,

and it began with her
at the school that day.

They knew exactly
how to pull you in

to trust them.

It's a game.

It's a sick and twisted game
to them,

and they felt like they were
the kings and queens

of their sick domain.

The recruiting focus
was constant.

Any of the individuals
that you talk to

who were subjected
to Ghislaine and Jeffrey

will tell you that every day
they were asking

these young girls
to bring in other girls.

Ghislaine
was the master at that.

Jeffrey liked diversity.

He didn't want the same person
over and over again,

and when you do the math,
and he's requiring

a different person
three times a day,

those numbers add up.

He literally
ate, slept, thought...

that was all he did was abuse.

It was a revolving door
of girls coming through.

- I first met Jeffrey
- January of 2000.

I was working as a model.

All my friends
were models and actresses.

I loved the lifestyle.

Going out,
art gallery openings,

charity events.

Ghislaine I saw
a lot at events.

We all kind of knew
that she had

a very special relationship
with Jeffrey,

and I was so fascinated
with his whole world

that he lived in.

He was mysterious,
he was wealthy,

and he knew
all the right people.

When I would be there,
he would always be talking

to the richest man
in the world.

He would tell me, like,
little secrets about people.

He always knew the secrets.

That was really important
to him.

Jeffrey Epstein became

a spectacularly rich
financial advisor.

He said at the time
that he only wanted clients

who had assets worth
a billion dollars or more.

Through a mutual acquaintance,
Epstein meets

a genuine billionaire
and arguably

the most important man
in his life.

At some point in time
you met and managed the money

for a fella named
Leslie Wexner, correct?

Again, I would like
to answer all questions...

Les Wexner was the owner
of the Limited Brand,

which is Victoria's Secret,

and a very,
very wealthy individual.

By 1991, Epstein
had not only become

Wexner's financial advisor.

He was his only client.

What was even more bizarre
was that Wexner

signed over power of attorney
to Epstein.

This was essentially
allowing Epstein

to do absolutely anything
in relation

to his financial affairs.

And if you're thinking
this is a weird arrangement,

that's because
it's a very weird arrangement.

Les Wexner
had bought and renovated

a house on East 71st Street,

and then the next thing
we knew about this house

was that Jeffrey Epstein
had moved in,

and the story going around

was that he had
just given it to Jeffrey.

What is it
about the relationship

between Les Wexner
and Jeffrey Epstein

that would inspire him to make
such an extraordinary gift?

The way Les Wexner
looked at Epstein was

with, like, puppy dog eyes.

It was... I think
if Epstein could love,

the only person he loved
was himself and Les Wexner.

This relationship
is so important

because it allows Epstein to
create a fortune for himself

and it also allows him
a kind of entry

into the world of modeling.

Les Wexner
and Victoria's Secret

is a huge
modeling connection...

something that I'm sure
Jeffrey Epstein identified

from the very beginning.

One model knows
a whole bunch of models.

One person gave him access
to hundreds of people.

He had you
introduce friends

and the friends
introduce more friends.

Jeffrey would pay you if you
introduced him to people.

He would say
it was transactional.

That was his thing.

He really liked me,
but I wasn't his type.

What he liked me for
was to meet more women.

He was very specific...

young, pretty, tall,
thin blondes.

He liked blondes.

I was a model
in New York City,

and it was a job
that I didn't think

I could ever have,
and it was a job that I wanted.

And it's everything you think
New York and fashion is.

It was very exciting.

I lived in a model's
apartment in Midtown.

I think it was on 42nd street.

And it was a huge apartment.

Any given time,
there could be three girls

or there could be 20 girls.

We were all
about the same age,

and we were in the city
by ourselves, you know,

some of us for the first time.

The modeling industry
was a clear, easy target

for Jeffrey Epstein.

You had young, ambitious,
beautiful women

coming to New York
from all over the world,

dying to make it.

They want to be
the next big model

more than anything
they've ever wanted,

and Jeffrey Epstein

promised to make
their dreams come true.

Jeffrey was very powerful.

As a model,
I was doing really well,

but I wanted
to be a Ford model,

so I had told Jeffrey,
and he said,

"Oh, I know the owner,"
and he called up,

and, like, within a few days,
I went and met with them,

and they said,
"Oh, we love Jeffrey,"

of course,
and they signed me right up.

He would manipulate you
in any way that he could

for whatever you wanted
to get more women.

I'll make this happen for you
if you do what I want.

He used people
for what they were good at,

and that's it.

I'm sure he had the same kind
of relationship with men.

He took whatever somebody
had to offer

whether it was money,
whether it was an idea,

whether it was an opportunity.

Whatever that person
had to offer,

Jeffrey Epstein took it.

Jean-Luc Brunel
is a French model scout.

He's someone
who rose to the top

of the modeling profession
and had a terrible reputation

for harassing and trying
to sleep with his models.

He met Ghislaine in the '80s,
and she introduced him

to Jeffrey Epstein
in the '90s.

Brunel was another
central figure

in this operation.

They ultimately decide
to go into business

with one another.

Jeffrey Epstein is here

with an unlimited amount
of money,

and Jean-Luc Brunel
is over here

with unlimited access
to young women

that are in
the modeling industry.

It was really
the perfect storm.

Jean-Luc Brunel
was the owner

of the agency
I modeled with.

I had the impression
that he was kind of...

he could make or break
a girl's career.

I was warned by a few models...
stay away from him.

It's easy to capitalize
on the inherent exploitation

that comes with being a model.

It is very common practice,
if you're doing a runway show,

to get undressed very quickly
in front of other people,

and you're desensitized to it
because that's what you do,

you know, to get the job done.

It puts
very vulnerable women

that are very young
in a position

where they can't say no.

You have no choice
but to submit, to say yes,

in order
to further your career.

As a kid,
what I would daydream about

was being a model.

I remember my room.

My walls were covered
with ad campaigns

and pictures of models.

It just seemed so glamorous.

My parents took photos
in the backyard

and sent them
to several agencies.

Summer after I signed,
I went by myself to New York.

I grew up in rural Alaska.

It was a very unusual place
to grow up.

There's not many people there.

It's mostly surrounded
by nature,

and comforts don't come easy.

Like, running water.

We had an outhouse
for a little while.

So when I left,
I was definitely very naive.

My cousin was living
in San Francisco,

and so I just thought
it was an opportunity

to go down there
and just dip my toe

into what life was like
in the city.

I must have been shy
of my 19th birthday.

I had lived with her
just for a couple months

before I was scouted
to be a model

and moved to New York City.

Jeffrey Epstein
particularly targeted models.

If you come to New York City
and you want to be a model,

being given an opportunity
to meet a very powerful,

very wealthy man
who has connections...

that's an opportunity
that you wanna take.

I was 19.

I was in New York on my own,
which was a scary place,

but I knew that I could do it.

They had me cut my hair

really short
like "Rosemary's Baby,"

and it looked horrible.

After that, they let me go.

I had no money,
and so I started working

at The Coffee Shop
as a hostess.

The Coffee Shop was kind of
a legendary establishment.

They hired models
and actresses,

and that's when I met
the recruiter.

She was a young,
beautiful blonde,

and she was like, "Wow,
you're really beautiful."

And she said, "I actually
wanted to talk to you

about an opportunity."

She told me about this man
that she worked for.

She called him her client,

and he likes
to receive massages

and he'll pay you
several hundred dollars

for 30 minutes.

She just kept making it seem

like a really great
opportunity,

and it just kept sounding
better and better.

He has ties
to the fashion industry.

He's friends
with a bunch of supermodels.

I said, "Well, I don't have
any massage experience."

And she said,
"It doesn't matter.

You know, he just
likes young, pretty girls."

I was broke, and it sounded
like an opportunity

where he could help me
if he liked me.

I had an accident, and I had
to get stitches on my chin.

They didn't think
I was a viable model,

and so they kicked me out
of the modeling apartment.

It was kind of, like,
in survival mode.

A friend of mine at the time

said that she wanted
to introduce me

to a friend of hers,
that he was helping her

pursuing her passion
of being an artist.

That happens every single day
in New York.

It's all about meeting people
and hanging out.

I really didn't think
anything of it.

We took the subway
to the Upper East Side.

I remember my friend
saying that this guy

lived in the largest townhouse
in New York.

The mansion
on East 71st Street

is one of
the largest private residence

in Manhattan.

Very imperial, very kind of
palace-like inside.

It's like a museum,

but it was very dark
and very dreary

and just had this,
like, really eerie feeling.

I never got a good feeling
there at all.

And apparently there was
a room by the front door

with a surveillance system
throughout the whole house

so that things could be
monitored and recorded.

And it was
monitoring everything...

bathrooms, massage rooms,
everyone's room.

The entire mansion
was being watched.

This mansion
had dozens of rooms.

It was intended
to intimidate people.

"Alice in Wonderland"
is, like, how I describe it.

How do I know
how to get out of that house?

That house is huge,
and it's a maze.

Beneath the kind of glamour
and the wealth,

there was a very dark side
to this property.

Jeffrey was
really particular about

who he was seen with, but he
was not a very social person.

He wasn't out in front
of everybody with everything.

He was very private.

Jeffrey always wanted
to meet women at his house.

They always came to his house,
like, behind closed doors.

The appointment was around

11:00 or 12:00
in the afternoon.

A maid answered the door.

She could barely look me
in the eye.

She led me to an elevator

where we went
to the second floor.

I had never seen anything
like that before in my life,

so I just went and sat down
and I was super nervous.

Finally, he walks in

with a towel
wrapped around his body.

I didn't know where I was.

I wasn't really
paying attention

walking into the house.

After the maid
had shut the door,

I felt trapped.

When Jeffrey Epstein
entered the room,

she knew
she was trapped already.

She was terrified already.

The conversation
that he started with her

was to calm her down
so he could get what he wanted.

He asked me
what my name was.

He asked me where I was from.

I told him I was from Texas,
and he was kind of tickled

by it, but it seemed like
business as usual for him.

So he laid facedown
on the massage table

where I very awkwardly began
to massage him.

I didn't know
what I was doing,

and I was like, "This guy
is gonna hate this."

He asked me
to take my clothes off.

I was trembling.

I was so scared,
and I took my clothes off.

He began to touch me...

aggressively.

And it quickly turned
into an assault.

I distinctly remember
him smiling

and enjoying the fact
that he was doing

this horrible thing to me
that obviously terrified me

and was violating me,

but he was somehow
getting off on that.

She knew that she had

to either
fight, run, or freeze.

Those are the three
human responses

to that perceived sense
of danger.

She froze.

Jeffrey came in, and he,
like, interviews me.

"What are your interests?
Where do you live?

I like to help young people.
I'm helping your friend here."

And she's looking at me
and looking all coy

'cause she's sitting
next to me.

My friend
initiated the assault,

and that continued with him
participating in it as well.

It's like all of reality
just kind of fell away.

I just kind of froze,

and I just complied.

They have to do literally
what they have to do

to get out of the moment
and keep their life intact

because the fear
is at a mortal level,

and the damage of that trauma
continues into their lives

from that point forward.

I had never had
a sexual experience before.

I was 19,
and that was my introduction

to any intimate experience.

He handed me the money, $200,

and that was it.

He left.

The maid came back
a couple minutes later,

and she led me out.

I couldn't figure out
what had just hap...

I was so confused.

What just happened?

I called my mom
just bawling in tears.

I said, "You have
to come get me now.

You have to get me.
I can't be here anymore."

And I was home.

But it didn't feel like home

because I wasn't
the same person anymore.

When you traditionally
think of rape,

you think of someone coming in
with, like, you know,

a ski mask on
holding a knife to you,

tying you up, and raping you.

You don't think
of manipulation.

And I remember my friend
clearly saying to me,

"Oh, that was so much fun.
We should do that again."

And she went on,
and he really liked me...

she could tell...
like she was grooming me

to go back.

After a young woman
was abused by Jeffrey Epstein,

she would leave the house,
and she would be called

by one of Jeffrey's assistants

and asked, "Hey, do you
wanna come back again?

Mr. Epstein really liked you.
He wants to see you again."

And he was able
to use this process

to feel out
their comfort level.

Sexual predators
cast their net widely.

They have a pattern
of behavior,

and a type
that they're looking for.

Some of them will have
enough ego strength

or something in their lives
that allows them to escape,

not be swept in, and the ones
that do get swept in

are the ones
that have psychological,

environmental vulnerabilities.

If you're abused,
if you're neglected,

and those are the individuals
that he exploited.

Epstein's
property portfolio

wasn't just about
showing off his wealth

and being ostentatious.

It allowed him to have
private bases in areas

where he could conduct
his sex trafficking operation.

So having a place
in Florida,

New York, Paris,
in New Mexico,

gave him another layer
of privacy,

another layer of secrecy

so that he could carry on
what he's doing.

Jeffrey had bought
this ranch in New Mexico...

And he'd named El Zorro.

Ghislaine's nickname for him
at the time was Silverado.

"Silverado, Silverado,
urban cowboy, desperado."

Zorro Ranch
is this vast holding...

10,000 acres
in southern Santa Fe County.

Part of that 10,000 acres
were 1,200 state-owned land.

I'm the commissioner
of public lands in New Mexico.

So if you look back
in the history

of how this land was acquired
by Jeffrey Epstein,

you'll see these big,
political names pop up.

Jeffrey Epstein
was giving contributions

not only
to the top decision makers,

but at all levels of government
even in the sheriff's race.

What was striking
about going back

through the documents
is that even after

Jeffrey Epstein was arrested,
these leases were renewed

by previous commissioners.

I'm the first woman that's
ever held this position,

and, to me, that's significant
because I look

through a different lens
than my predecessors did.

To know that people
look the other way

and allowed it to continue
is devastating to me.

Jeffrey Epstein
essentially had an island

within the state
of New Mexico.

If you talk with some
of the folks who did work

during the construction,
they talk about

how secretive everything was,
how they had to be escorted

everywhere they went.

There are many stories
about that veil of secrecy.

- Somebody like
- Jeffrey Epstein...

the whole process was designed
to evade detection.

Every single successful
sexual predator

is successful
because the way

that they manipulate,

the way that they
pull the strings.

Jeffrey always wanted
to meet more women.

It was always
about meeting more women.

Some of them were
on the level that I was on.

Some of them were
on the massage level,

and I think he was testing
some of them

for the deeper level
that we've now come to know.

I was born
in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

My parents were divorced
when I was four years old.

It was a tumultuous childhood,
and I was rebellious,

acting out.

Lost my virginity
when I was young.

I started running away
when I was 13 years old

probably seeking
some attention.

As an adult, didn't really
know what I wanted.

And I went to massage school.

He targeted industries
in which he could use

the nature of the job
to get what he wanted.

He knew that to manipulate
the situation

into a sexual relationship

that he didn't have to start
from square one.

He could start with a massage
with touching.

You're recruited by somebody
who's a real masseuse,

and it looks like
there's a massage table,

and it slowly evolves.

Massage school,
it was a really great

turning point in my life.

I did a lot of growing up.

I wasn't running away
and on the streets

and trying to survive.

As a massage therapist,
it put me

in a very positive place
in my life.

During massage school,
I met a massage therapist.

She had a practice,
and she was contracting

other therapists
to do the work for her.

She has a clientele that was
a little more discerning

and that she thought
that I was a good fit for it.

So she contracted me
to go to Zorro Ranch.

When I first went out there,
I massaged Ghislaine.

She made sure
that I knew her name

and how
to pronounce it correctly.

She had this teacup Yorkie.

She says, "This is Max,
short for Maxwell."

And she picks him up

and smothers his face
with kisses.

Ghislaine
was very intimidating to me

'cause I knew we'd come from
complete different worlds.

She disrobed
and plopped on my table.

I was trying to cover her
with the towel, you know,

and do all the proper
draping techniques.

She had no modesty,

but she liked my massage.

She wanted me to come back.

Then I massaged Jeffrey.

Zorro Ranch,
it's about a 40 minute drive

from Santa Fe,
and it's a beautiful drive.

I was really excited.

It's very private,
very secluded.

And then you drive
a quarter of a mile.

You can see stables.

Then you drive
two or three miles

to the main house.

It was enormous.

The massage room
was in a downstairs area

with a gym
and then a massage table

off to the side,
and then double doors

that opened
into a indoor pool.

Very luxurious.
That impressed me.

These people were big,
big-time.

And then he came in.

He was very intimidating
to me,

but, you know, I tried to be
as professional as I could.

I asked him if he had
any outstanding areas

that he wanted me to work on
and he said,

"We'll massage my feet,"

and then he just started
asking me,

"Oh, can you do
my psoas muscle?"

Which is more closer
to the groin.

Before I really even had
a chance

to, like, think about it,

he proceeded to...

Pleasure himself...

and before I knew it, he had
already released himself.

I felt like he just
disrespected my art.

I was just kind of like,
"Ugh, God."

I was just like...

"He's just a rich,
eccentric weirdo

and wants to do
whatever he wants to do."

And...

yeah, there was...
he wiped himself off,

and he said,
"Okay, see you next time."

There was some events
that happened

when I was, like,
six years old...

childhood sexual abuse
at the hands

of a teenage boy,
18 years old.

I did not speak out.

I didn't have
the vocabulary for that...

But it happened again,
and then the second time

it happened,
it hit me harder.

It was like,
"I'm not making this up.

I promise,
this happened to me."

I was like,
"Who's here to protect me?"

So it just was
never dealt with, you know?

It was just secret
upon secret upon secret.

A person who comes from
a place where you were abused

by your uncle,
by your stepfather,

by your mother's boyfriend,

then that's
your view of the world...

that you are essentially

a body that an adult male

can use for his own pleasure.

They were called over
for a massage.

It became a sexual assault.
You know, what else is new?

The next time
that I massaged Jeffrey,

it got a little more intense.

He started asking me
to take my shirt off.

You know, he wanted me
to rub oil on myself.

And I really didn't want to.

I felt pressured.

I felt, "Oh, if I don't do it,

then he's not
gonna want me back."

I just allowed it to happen.

I felt shame,
so much shame about it,

but there was that switch
that I was able

to turn on and off.

I think
that was engrained in me.

There are many
different reasons

why people go back.

The one thing
that they all have in common

is a really broken
ego structure.

They don't have the ability
to read themselves

or the situation correctly

because they've
never been taught.

It was almost like I was,

like,
that 6-year-old girl again.

Nobody believed me then,

but are they gonna
believe me now?

So I kept it a secret.

It's like a weight
that you wear your whole life

that allows you
to be subjected

to more abuse.

I blamed myself for making
the wrong choices,

but it's easy to be lured

by money, promises,

and to have your sense
of what's right and wrong

dulled when you've got
all these sparkly things

in front of you.

It's easy to be manipulated

by a very powerful man.

A number of the survivors
of Jeffrey Epstein

had endured some type
of sexual trauma

as children prior
to ever having met him,

and that's
a particular vulnerability

that can be detected
by somebody

who's as masterful
of a manipulator

as Jeffrey Epstein.

Jeffrey wasn't
my first trafficker.

He wasn't my first abuser.

My childhood
was stolen from me.

Beginning three days
after my eighth birthday,

I was first
sexually assaulted,

and that happened repeatedly
for a long time.

I learned back then
that you just kind of

suffer through it.

You suffer in silence.

Growing up
with that experience,

it definitely set me up
for being there

in Jeffrey's office

pretending
like it's not happening.

I got to a point in life
where I felt like...

This is what happens to you.

This is what you're here for.

Like, I'm that object
to be used.

I came from
a very unprivileged life.

Even when we were in a home,

men in and out of the house...

You know,
various levels of abuse...

physically, sexually.

I was in survival mode
from a very young age.

I just wanted
to be away from it all.

I moved in
with my cousin in Hollywood.

The transition to L.A.
was complete life switch.

I was surrounded
by celebrities,

models, and directors.

One of the parties
I was at one night,

this man, Gypsy,
comes walking up to me.

He told me that he was this
massage guru to the stars.

He's drawn to my energy,
but I was holding back.

You know, I had blocks.

Gypsy felt like someone
who was gonna help heal me.

And I really needed it.

Through that,
it became a conversation

of, well, why don't you
learn the trade?

And so, one day,
Gypsy had said

that he had
this regular client,

a socialite from New York

and that he wanted me
to meet her

and come along
for the appointment.

We met her one day
at the Four Seasons Hotel

in Beverly Hills.

Ghislaine was very charming.

She was talking to me so much,

asked me a gazillion
questions about myself.

Sexual predators
bring women into their life,

and they make them
feel cared about

or beautiful or accomplished
or interesting.

That positive regard is
the most intoxicating thing.

She called Gypsy to ask
if I would want to be hired

as a masseuse
at her Palm Beach residence

for the weekend.

I wasn't even certified yet.

Gypsy was just very adamant
that I should go.

He ended up convincing me
that it would be okay.

I met Ghislaine

at a little private airport
in Santa Monica.

Got in a jet
and flew to Palm Beach.

Because I was
kind of submerged

in the Hollywood scene
already,

it wasn't that abnormal
for people with money

to do outlandish things
like that...

to hire someone
and fly them somewhere.

None of it seemed
out of the ordinary at first.

I felt like they thought
that I was something special.

We drive to their mansion.

On the way there,
she points out

that Donald Trump's
a neighbor.

She says,
"With my partner Jeffrey,

just do whatever he wants,
and you'll be fine."

One of their assistants
met me at the door...

And she led me
down the hallway

to this giant bathroom

where a massage table
was laid out.

I got it all set up,

and as soon as I had
the sheets on the table,

This man comes waltzing
into the room

and drops his robe and says,
"Hi, I'm Jeffrey," and...

...gets on the table.

And sort of, like,
halfway through the massage,

he flipped over onto his back
and asked if I minded

if he touched himself.

You know, because I had come
from a background of abuse,

when he asked me
if he could touch himself,

you know,
I basically just said sure,

because I didn't know
what else to say or do.

I didn't know how to say no.

I didn't know how to say
that I'm not okay with that.

Your brain
is trying to say,

"I don't understand
what happened."

You find yourself
in circumstances

over and over again where
the same dynamics are there,

the same circumstances there.

Reenactment is an attempt
to understand

the sexual abuse,

and the reenactments
tend to be

specific reproductions
of that earlier event

that the mind
is trying to comprehend.

Jeffrey told me
to come over here,

and he pushed me down,

forced oral sex on me
right there, and, um...

Part of the sexual abuse
that I experienced as a kid,

a man I knew
used to force oral sex on me

kind of in the same demeanor.

I would pretend
like I was asleep

to make it go away in my head,

and, you know,
even in that moment,

I remember the same thing.

Like, just almost pretending
like I wasn't there

I was in this state of wanting
to befriend the bad guy

because that's
what I always did with him.

If I was on his good side,
he wouldn't hurt me.

It's almost like
something takes over you

inside your body...
not knowing what to do

and just following
through the motions.

There was no love
or compassion or empathy

in that man's heart whatsoever.

My mind was just going crazy
with what just happened.

There were so many questions
I had in my head,

but I certainly
wasn't gonna go, you know,

tell Ghislaine
or the assistant.

I had that mentality
of, like, you know,

if you don't talk about it,
it didn't happen.

And after that encounter,

Ghislaine actually flew back to L.A.

and proceeded
to book appointments with me.

I had no reason to think

that she had anything
to do with anything.

I already had this feeling of
not wanting to disappoint her

for whatever reason.

She invited me back out
to Palm Beach again.

I thought we were
staying there the weekend

like I had the first time,
but they told me

that we were actually
flying to his island

in the Caribbean
and taking his big plane.

That was certainly shocking.

Like, I had never seen
an airplane like that before.

I mean,
it was like Air Force One.

Bedroom, kitchen, screen room,
living, sitting area,

and I was like, "Okay, wow,
this is a plane.

They got distracted
by the persona

of wealth and privilege
and luxuries and niceties

and look where you are

and look
who you're hobnobbing with.

And that inner voice
has to get loud enough

for that to be
uncomfortable enough

for them to say,
"Wait a minute.

"I don't think this is right.

"I gotta get
the hell out of here.

I can't."

I definitely had to do
some self talk...

that, "What if he
tries to hurt me?"

I thought, "Well, this time
I'll be better prepared,

and I'll be able to say no."

Or even, you know,
I had this blind hope

that maybe he
just wouldn't do it again.
