On today's episode, we're going to teach you how to use tools.

Some things that you might have around the house.

that you don't know how to use that would be a good life skill to have you

thank you dad and your nail i couldn't forget the nail so

first things first you want to grab your nail just under the head and Grip it

nice and tight under the head. Okay, so you have to grip the head really, really

tight. That's right, hon.

And then place it on the wood where you want to do your nailing.

Nail the wood?

Yes.

And you want to aim it up so that the head of your hammer is centered right on

the nail.

Right?

And then center the head. Make sure the head is in a good position.

Just like right over the nail.

There you go.

And then you're going to aim a few times. Make sure you've got it centered.

You have to have good aim, right, Dad?

Oh, yeah. And you want to swing in a nice fluid motion.

Just a nice stroke right there on the center of the head.

Nice fluid motion in your stroke.

So do you want me to stroke it fast? Do you want me to stroke it slow?

Yeah, you want to stroke it fast, especially on the first one, because you

a nice, clean hit. You want to set the nail into the wood.

Okay, yeah.

How's that? Is it set?

So, this is a tape measure.

You use it to measure stuff. It's pretty self -explanatory.

Right? Yeah, I remember I used this when I was measuring out my carpet for the

rug in my bedroom.

Yeah, that's right.

So you can really use this to measure anything.

It's pretty simple.

You know, the numbers are really obvious as far as, like, how many inches, but

there are all these lines in between.

So, you know, we're going to teach you what that means, what a quarter inch,

half inch, three -quarter inch, all of that.

Oh, actually, Daddy?

Uh, there's this trend going around where you get to guess, pulling this

how much is seven inches.

Really? Yeah, it would actually get us so many views. We just, you know, pulled

it out and guessed how much seven inches was.

Okay, uh, I guess we're gonna play a game.

Um, who can guess seven inches?

So, do you want to go first? Do you want me to go first?

Okay. Let's see if you know what seven inches is.

So why don't we use the nails that we had before, and we can just measure the

distance between these, right?

There you have it. It's at that line right there.

So you see where that is next to the 15?

Uh -huh.

So that's where the inch line is.

The biggest one in between is a half inch, and the other two larger ones are

the quarter inch and the three -quarter inch. So that was 14 and three

-quarters. Uh -huh. Okay.

Right? Amazing.

of that to make sure that your doors are secure and safe obviously it's super

important to be safe and secure in your home and wood can warp over time which

means if you have a wooden door your lock might not align and you know you

not be able to lock it securely so um we're going to change the doorknob and

change the locks on this door now when you're doing that obviously it's secured

by a screw so you can either use a power drill with a phillips head screwdriver

head on there or if you want more control you can do you know regular

screwdriver and do it by hand That way you have a little bit more control with

it.

So let's get started.

So I'm going to use the handheld screwdriver for this job, just so I have

little bit more control.

Also because this one's a little loud, so you might not be able to hear me.

But honey, can you hand me the doorknob?

And so what we're going to do is we're going to unscrew this plate.

and honey can you oh um honey can you hand me this

doorknob um

so like i said you you're gonna unscrew the plate and um

and then oh thanks honey yeah um

So first you need to unscrew the plate, and then you're going to replace it with

the new knob, right?

So what we're going to do is unscrew this plate so

that we can replace it with the new knob.

You know, I really love how safe I always feel with you, Daddy.

Of course, honey.

Safety is really important, and security. That's why you need a secure

Start on that second screw.
