Why don't you tell us a little about

who you are and who
you're representing today?

- I'm Thomas Kilroy,

and I represent the families
of Amy Hanson, Randy Harris,

Emma Grove, and Peter Moore
in the ongoing litigation

against the Fairfield
County Sheriff's Department.

- [Interviewer] So why exactly are you

releasing this footage?

- We're releasing the
footage because we think

it might bring justice to the missing four

and perhaps, relieve some
of the pain and suffering

that their families have experienced.

personalities began production

on an episode of the reality series,

"The Cryptid Project."

Randy Harris, Emma Grove,

Pete Moore, and Amy Hanson

were young, energetic, and enthusiastic.

The four vanished without a trace.

- They were more than
just content creators,

they were investigators.

- Four creators, four truth seekers

who vanished last year in
Fairfield County, Connecticut.

- What were they doing
out in Fairfield County,

Connecticut you ask?

They were hunting a werewolf

or they were at least
following a werewolf story.

The details are spotty on this.

- Cops, the cops are,

the cops are involved in some way,

some shape, or some form, you know?

- [Narrator] Fairfield
County investigators

collected their belongings
from their cabin

and stored them as evidence.

Families were left baffled,
left without answers

as to where their loved ones had gone.

- Now, I'm not trying
to stir up any panic,

but four people don't just disappear.

Something's not right here.

And whatever happened out there,

it might have caught them off guard.

- [Narrator] The families
obtained legal representation

and after a year long court battle,

the belongings were relinquished.

They sifted through the
belongings themselves,

unknown to them what they would find.

Along with clothes, toiletries,
and camping supplies,

they also discovered the
camera used by the four

containing the footage they filmed

while producing their last episode.

- But here's the part
that keeps me up at night.

Their footage was recovered.

Now let that sink in.

Whatever they saw, whatever followed them,

whatever made them
disappear, it's on tape.

Fairfield County werewolf,

it's a story I grew up
hearing all the time, so.

started around the 1700s,

sightings from happening

even in present day.

And while the locals aren't so forthcoming

about their stories and experiences,

that doesn't stop any tourists

from snapping pictures of
some mysterious creature

crossing roads, moving along in the woods

and prowling the dark tree lines.

And, oh, and we're lucky enough to be here

on the night of a full moon.

So we are fully prepared to
investigate these stories

and finally put to rest

the legend of the
Fairfield County werewolf.

Well, I've heard a lot of stories.

A lot of people that come
in, um, from the state,

you know, they'll have their stories

from their local town.

Up near the Fairfield area,

Fairfield, Litchfield Hills,

that's the most haunted
place in Connecticut.

It's called the Litchfield
Flap in that area.

Um, and the werewolf is
one of those stories.

Uh, the Wild Man, uh, which
is Bigfoot, supposedly.

Um, but again, it's,

there's a grain of truth with everything,

so we try to tell people

what's strange and unusual in Connecticut.

- Yeah.
- And cryptids is definitely

a thing that Connecticut's known for.

and basically what we do
is we go to different areas

and we kind of do our

legend is one that kind of,

we just like really
wanted to come to the area

and check it out because it's
a really cool legend, so.

Uh, Stacy, could you share your story

that you told us earlier?

- Yes, of course.

So, um, I remember it
was a very quiet night

and I was down at my
parents' barn, you know,

just making sure that
it was all locked up,

all the animals were
quiet, everyone was safe.

And then I heard like a low
growl coming from the distance.

So of course I looked up

and I saw this giant
silhouette just in the shadows.

And it was, I don't know,

it was unlike anything I'd
ever seen before, you know?

And then it took a couple
of steps on two feet

into this clearing about
300 yards away from me.

And it was so tall

and kind of like hunched over

and its fur even seemed to
like glisten in the moonlight.

I don't know. I was absolutely
terrified, of course.

But I just, I couldn't look away.

And then it just kept prowling

the parameter of this clearing

before just disappearing
into the shadows again.

Of course, no one
believed me the next day.

- [Peter] Hold for that wind real quick.

- No one believed me the next day,

but I, I like told my mom and
my dad and they scolded me

and said, "Oh, you should
never talk about it again."

So

You probably won't find an actual wolf.

There have been some black bear sightings,

a few weeks ago, as a matter of fact.

something that happens all the time?

No, but it could happen

and you should be aware of this.

Poison ivy, I think I mentioned that.

Snakes is the last on the list.

Indigenous to this area.

We have the timber rattlesnake

and we have a copperheads
that you may run into.

Here's the important part.

If we encounter any

of these, this wildlife
that I've spoke of,

let me handle it.

on dealing with Copperheads,

your family's origins in the area

and kind of what you're thinking

is really what these legends are?

- Well, I can tell you
what these legends are.

They're truth.

My family knows this.

My family's been here for generations.

Here in these woods,

they made these woods their home

before the paved roads.

Before all the town foe came in.

This was, this was our home.

My family's home.

This land is in our blood.

And throughout the generations,

my grandfather's
grandfather would tell tales

about these woods,

about a creature that walks.

Half man, half wolf.

Now, unless you've really lived here

for a long time,

longer than any of us have been alive,

passed down through the generations,

some know these aren't stories.

Like the town folk then would say,

"It'll keep the children out
of the woods", they said.

Ah, they knew more than what
they were leading on for sure.

- You know, we got some
really great stories

from different people here in town.

But the mayor seems to not
really believe anything.

It definitely didn't act like a man.

That's when I ran like
I've never ran before.

thought I may have a
chance to get to the house.

Before I got in the house, I looked back

and he's standing there
