I too was a young dog once
full of energy and strength,

confusion and anxiety.

youthful years,

I just couldn't
figure it all out.

I had such bad
separation anxiety.

If my owner left the
room to get a snack,

I'd totally freak out.

growling, barking,

howling, whimpering,
the whole bit.

Things got so bad I
even ignored my dog bed

and insisted on sleeping
in the master bedroom.

And they let me.

got up and left me alone

even for a minute,
I'd wet the bed.

- No way.

- Indeed, it got
to the point where

I'd have to go
everywhere with my owner

because if she'd leave
uncrated at home,

I'd destroy the furniture.

I was what you'd call a bad dog.

- I had no idea, Bernie.

- Yeah well, neither did I.

That's how it got to
the point that it did.

Nobody taught me that what
I was doing was so annoying.

I just thought it was
what you had to do

to bond with your person.

- How did you
overcome it, Bernie?

- I didn't, my owner
gave me away.

I grew up in a kennel
with 20 other yapping dogs

who made a nonstop
racket for 10 years.

- Oh, Bern, that's terrible.

- Well, not really, it
actually helped me quite a bit.

- Well, I got so sick of
listening to those hollering

kennel dogs that I escaped.

- Get out.

- That's right, I did.

For two years, I practiced
vertical jumping in the yard.

The staff thought I was just
doing tricks for treats,

so they'd clap, toss me
snacks, and let me do my thing.

One night, I hopped a
low fence and bailed

and never saw that place again.

- Wow.

- Now, I'm here
talking to you two

as my two most annoying and
loudest dogs in Dog Town.

Especially you, Larry.

of my great grandma.

has made me the dog
