Thinking to obey
the Commandments of god,

I saw them and
took pity on them,

I seated them at the lord's table,

but they were not satisfied.
They wanted more.

Then god chastised
me and showed me

that I was walking
in darkness.

I shall have no peace
until the temple

is cleansed of those
who defieled it,

until the mill is built up
from its ashes.

So that

God may help me in my work,
I will build

a new church on this spot
to honour our memory

of Don Manuel.

It will stand as witness
to the sorrow of these days

and also too the victory
of christianity

over bestiality
and savagery.
