and that's why you're experiencing swelling.

Okay, so-- so what do we do?

How do we fix this?

Well, we can try an ultrasound-guided procedure

to drain the cyst, put in a shunt,

and relieve pressure from the heart.

And then the baby will be okay?

That's our hope, yes.

But there are risks that the shunt won't work

and the cyst will return.

And if that happens, what do you try next?

If this procedure is unsuccessful,

it is highly unlikely that the female fetus will survive.

So this is the only option?

It's our best option.

Uh, there are other risks associated with this procedure

that you both should be aware of.

What risks?

Any in-utero procedure puts Olivia

in danger of her water breaking,

sending her to preterm labor.

With your baby at 21 weeks and Olivia's at roughly 17...
