I mean, last year, Oregon, first year in the Big Ten,

win the Big Ten Championship

against Big Ten powerhouse Penn State.

And now, this year, you have a three versus six matchup.

And to be at a Penn State White Out game,

you want to talk about a hostile environment?

You are walking in the lion's den.

How do you prepare for that? You can't.

There's no amount of crowd noise in practice.

that can truly prepare you for what going into Happy Valley

and its importance in your head, you're not.

The playoff implications are very, very serious this weekend.

If Oregon goes out and beats Penn State,

Now, this Oregon receiving corps has been awesome.

Dakorien Moore is an exciting watch,

but on the road on the other side of the country

It's gonna be a raucous atmosphere.

If you're gonna highlight a matchup,

it's this experienced veteran Penn State offensive line

against an Oregon defensive line

that is playing a lot of first and second-year players.

MARK HELFRICH: Penn State's offensive line,

if they win this game, would be the offensive MVP.

Because then, you know, Drew Allar will feel

more comfortable to help get him into rhythm,

and then, of course, the ground game

to set up play action and everything else.

CONNOR ONION: You do have more continuity

with Penn State's offensive line.

I'm a very big fan of Drew Shelton.

Predicted that he could go on to becoming

the first tackle drafted in the 2026 NFL Draft.

MALACHI: I love playing football.

Football is my joy.

But, so far, I feel like college football

is definitely real heavy on your mentality.

MALACHI: Me not really seeing the field,

there definitely is times of, like, frustration.

Maybe sometimes I doubt myself, but I also gotta realize,

like, we have a lot of guys in the O-line room, for one.

A lot of talent, a lot of guys that are going to the NFL.

When I got here, I had maybe overwhelmed myself

on maybe, like, having too high of expectations.

I do put a lot of pressure on myself.

Even though I am a freshman, like,

maybe I should cut myself some slack.

But I don't think there is time for that, to be honest.

I still want to be able to play. I mean, I'm very motivated.

Just gonna keep working hard,

keep trying to be a dominant person on the field.

I definitely do believe in speaking things into existence.

I'm not gonna rely on it, 'cause I gotta put in the work

in order for that stuff to happen.

But I feel like I've gotten better.

Just playing faster, being more physical.

Just trying to get better every day, just keep grinding.

All the time, I mean, just working hard, that's really it.

Malachi kind of stumbled a little bit,

so I guess you could say I kind of took his ankles.

I don't remember this whatsoever.

I remember. I was so proud of it.

He changed a lot.

From sophomore year to junior year,

he definitely flipped the switch.

On the field,

you could definitely tell Malachi just like--

I don't even know how to explain it.

He was just a completely different player.

What flipped after sophomore year?

Came back a new man.

I had one teammate... [chuckles]

He told me

that I will never be better than him until he leaves.

So I was like, "Okay, I got to be better than him next year."

So I started working real hard.

Working to exhaustion, that's what I call it, so...

I started getting a few offers.

I was like, "Okay, it's really possible."

I think high school football really taught me

to have a tough mindset.

I definitely need to outwork the person

or the people that are in front of me right now

so I can be where I wanna be.

I still wanna play, see the field.

I see that it might not be that likely,

but I definitely still think it can happen.

I just got to keep working, keep getting better.

Just be relentless.

That just goes back to not having a lot growing up.

I feel like it affected me.

Everything I did was to make sure they get

everything that they need.

And now I'm able to give back to them.

So right now we on the edge of the street

until they start building more houses down here.

If we don't get him down, then it's gonna be a long day.

from the offenses we've been playing.

So these next four games, three of them are away.

So this is when the real journey starts.

knowing that we've got to go into a hostile environment

and just making sure that everybody's ready,

'Cause most freshmen obviously don't get the chance to play

for teams like this at this stage in their career.

in their first road game of the season

DANIEL: My expectations are a little bit

more personal with Devin.

Today I think is a real big test for him if he gets this matchup.

We're hoping. We're not solid on that.

But he'll definitely play. He's going to get a lot of time.

They had an injury a couple weeks ago.

that I don't have to go out there and play 30, 40 snaps

but it's good to get this first road win with this group.

the way that the momentum has shifted completely

DAKORIEN: We just gotta go answer back.

It's finna be back and forth now, you know.

in double overtime.

DAN: I told y'all all week, a thousand cuts.

It took a thousand.

Man, that was unbelievable effort

from every one of you guys.

, I'm so proud of you all.

You busted your ass. You earned that win.

We just played a great team.

But you know who's a better team?
