on some recent studies from my lab...

...on the acquisition of past-tense
irregular verb forms in children...

...between the ages of 18 months
and two and a half years.

until we know evertyhing about nothing.

But I hope to convince you
that by observing these baby steps...

So we redefined activities...

between staff and residents in the unit.

Staff looks for opportunities to make
meaningful connections with residents...

...starting with knowing about the person
and what makes them comfortable.

One woman who had worked as a nurse sat,
most days, in the nursing station, writing notes.

Heartbreaking.

we see time and again.

We don't have restrictions
on visiting times.

I am a person living
with early onset Alzheimer's.

And as that person, I find myself
learning the art of losing every day.

Losing my bearings,
losing objects, losing sleep...

...but mostly, losing memories. "

I've accumulated memories.

They've become, in a way,
my most precious possessions.

But for the time being, I'm still alive.

I know I'm alive.

I have people I love dearly.

I have things I wanna do with my life.

I rail against myself
for not being able to remember things...

of pure happiness and joy.
