Okay, first day testing the new Hon
SF
uh basic model. This is the 20% softer
sample and I will test it with the new
liner, the new sample of the liner and
stock wheels, stock everything. No shock
absorber. I cut the
the cuff in the way it will be modified,
but is still the same sample from
October from China. So, I'm going to try
this setup first. It's a little bit
windy, but sunny finally.
Okay, the skates are very, very
comfortable. The liner feels quite
premium. Good padding on the sides. The
tongue, it's not super hard, but it's
actually not that soft. So, there's like
a little bit of forward. There's not
much forward flex as I expected. The
size feels a little bit smaller than
before. So, [snorts] it's more like a 42
and a half I will say because this a
little bit of a too much padding around
the sides. But since it's a
liner made of foam, I think we'll
probably give a little bit away on the
sizing after a few sessions. Uh the
wheels feel very very fast. I like the
flat setup. Like the distance is quite
good going up and down of ramps and all
that.
But yeah, it feels very comfortable,
very supportive and fast. But right away
that's when I started to skate touch on
the front of the sole plate felt.
[laughter]
So that's a problem.
I'm skating more like freekate style
like crossing over and all that. But
still watch I touch and just slip out
like falling on my hip like on the first
minute. So you can see where it touches
the weights align the so with the edge
of the frame should not touch but when
you're crossing over you
lean on the tip like on the toes little
bit more extra than usual and that's
where where it touches. But of course
after a few grinds it should be okay.
But yeah I'm going to keep testing but
the liner feels really good. It's only
about the sizing. So, keep testing.
>> [laughter]
>> Okay, the curve ledge took me a a little
bit longer because I'm still figuring
out the angle of the Royale because the
way it's designed obviously like when
you put your toes to the front or to the
back totally different and after a while
it's going to wear down and create your
own groove obviously but especially in
the beginning since you have this kind
of area to lean on the frame and then
you have the other area on the back
slide so I don't think is bad at all.
But depending where people come from
from what I skate, it will obviously
take some time to get used to it. But so
far it's working and going to try all
the tricks.
>> I did not
wheel bite like not even once. Even when
totally missing the Royale and going
backside, no we bite at all. So it's
almost like cheating.
It's like the back unity.
It's like it's too fast. It's like
usually the problem is you are worried
about wheel bites. And this is not the
case. It's more like I can do like
torque almost. I'm going to try full
torque neck.
Now I'm trying the
zero liner
without the plastic sheet and no shock
absorber because when I tried the
fitting,
I felt the removing the plastic sheet
gives a little bit of extra shock
absorber. And I want to know if I feel
the mounting plates without the plastic
sheet. Trying the zero liners. No shock
absorber, no plastic sheet with the thin
uh insole with arc support. With art
support.
Uh the skate is very comfortable. It's
very It feels almost like a different
skate like much more anatomical shape.
It's like everything wraps around your
around the shape of your foot.
Much better heel locked, but I don't
think it's necessarily better.
So, it feels like more bouncy
everywhere. Like you get more return on
the forward flex and on the sides.
I don't feel like after skating the
other liner for an hour, I don't feel
this this more spacious, especially on
the toes. But overall, it feels like
yeah, like correct sizing. It doesn't
feel like huge difference in in width, I
would say. But it's very comfortable. No
pressure points in that sense. And a
different feeling because also I'm
lacing now to the top. By the way, the
skate feels very lightweight to me.
and good amount of lateral support,
forward flex, backward flex. I don't
feel like we need more v-cut really like
this are higher liner. So the feeling is
a little bit more similar to I would say
like this kind of razors rain liners
obviously like intuition which is not a
good thing but yeah I'm going to try how
it feels on tricks. I tried one backside
royale. I thought I could not go down,
but actually
did the whole slide like perfectly. So,
I'm going to try a few more tricks.
>> Okay, that soul grind felt so good.
I really like the sole space. Not too
big, not too small. You can lean on, you
can lock the tricks and you don't slip
out. It's very fast.
So, about the zero liner
now. After a few
minutes, it feels really good.
My foot just sitting inside the the
liner. It's grabbing my foot all around
my ankle. Everything is like like it's
like sucking my my foot inside. Feels
really good. Good support.
Without the plastic sheet, I don't feel
the mounting plates at all. And somehow
I feel
enough shock absorber with the tiny PU1.
I'm going to put on the the other shock
absorbers. Now to try
been trying some seslights and yeah they
are easy like I'm really bad at seslight
and I can do like down bank like a
royale ses light not touching with the
wheels at all like every time I fall
it's like the opposite like too much
plastic
But yeah, it works really well for a
flat 4 * 60 mm like not not having wheel
bite at all. Another thing about the
zero liner is like you really need to
pull the tongue on the back of the liner
a few times to really sit the foot
inside and avoid like any overlapping of
uh the different edges and stitching of
the liner and the shell. But once you
find the position like the lowest
position, it feels really good. Feels
amazing. Okay, testing of the shock
absorbers. Now with the zero liner
right foot, I have the hard
un
shock absorber and on the left the soft
green one.
I don't feel a big difference other than
when I'm skating,
the left one, the softest one is more
bouncy for sure, while the orange one is
just more like power transfer.
The higher stance on the heels,
uh, not as bad as I thought.
I have maybe a little bit more of heel
lift, but not really noticeable. It's
not really my style of blades because
Yeah. Now definitely feels more like a
razors, but not in a bad way. Actually,
I don't have my instep
being squished by the shell by the edges
of the lacing area.
And yeah, I feel a bit of less power
transfer, less performance for sure when
you're pushing and on the ball maybe,
but overall it's pretty good.
I always like more like a not bouncy
feeling, but compared for example to the
ACT icon, which I felt extremely bouncy
on the hill when I was skating, the
green one is actually a little bit
better and you feel the shock absorbing
more because when I land, I didn't land
anything big. maybe meter meter
something meter 20 really like a few
gaps and maybe I suffer a little bit
less on the left one
but
yeah I I'm thinking more of having like
two options of the PU shock abs sorry
one which is the free skate and another
one which is like 5 mm thicker and
having these two options inside the
skate will be the best I feel but
actually the the green one works. I will
say it works. Maybe it's a little bit
long because it's longer than the orange
one, but both do the job. But yeah, I
think I think the the green one is a
little bit better. And by the way, I
love the sound of the skates. Super
dumping actually without anything
between the shell and the sole plate.
And yeah, so far really, really good.
I'm going to skate a little bit more
now. I will change the wheels.
Okay. So, this whole frame is the not
modified yet. So, it's the same that we
saw in China. So, these wheels doesn't
fit.
58 mm.
Okay. Okay, so I mounted the 58 mm
wheels from the other factory
and I don't feel much of a difference
skating like touching more with the sole
pil with the frame really which is
surprising. But I feel them much more
sticky.
The profile is more square. Not a big
difference, but
the stock ones since the the profile is
rounded and they are matte and they are
kind of soft when you roll. But they
don't get caught when you touch the
ledge. So I feel the stock ones are much
better. Not much better, but I don't see
I don't feel much of a difference. But
the shiny ones, they are a lot more
sticky. So when you touch the ledge, you
really get stuck.
And yeah, I don't know about durability.
I will need to give them like a longterm
testing.
But yeah, I'm so tired today. And it's
been like three more than 3 hours. And
now it's getting dark and cold.
