This is Miss Ayla, my friend. Hey,
Candyman. How are you? I'm good. How are

of what some of these tools are for and

what they do? Yes, absolutely. So we
have our fun air water.

So we have our water.

And then we also have our ear and we can
dry it up.

And then we have our really cool
suction.

So this is going to go around and get
any of the water and toothpaste that you

might have left over. That's pretty
cool. And then we also have our really

awesome toothbrush.

So it spins.

That's a toothbrush?

Yeah. Wow, this is really interesting.
This actually gets your teeth really

shiny. And it gets all the stains away.

And then after.

Your teeth are so shiny.

We have our beautiful mirror.

Oh. Yeah.

I can see myself.

Can you see yourself in there? Oh,
that's great.

And then we also have our tooth counter.

So our tooth counter is really cool.
It's going to check the grooves of your

teeth. Boop, boop, boop.

Just like that.

And handyman Hal, do you know how many
teeth you had as a child?

That's a good question.

Let's see.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,
13, 14, 15, 16.

So you actually have 20 primary teeth.
Wow. And then whenever you become an

adult, like now, you have 32 permanent
teeth.

Wow. Yeah. That's a lot of teeth.

So it's so important that we take good
care of them, which is why we want to

make sure that we're brushing our teeth
really good at home. See, that's what

the toothbrush really looks like. Yeah.

So this is the one that you use at home
for sure.

And then you want to make sure that
you're brushing your teeth for, do you

how many minutes?

Maybe one minute?

No, two minutes. Oh, two minutes.

So you want to brush two minutes in the
morning and two minutes at night. And

then also, we cannot forget, very
important, we have our floss.

Oh, wow.

Oh, and look, it's blue.

One of my favorite colors. Yeah. Oh,
that's great.

So you want to make sure that we're
flossing every night right before bed.

Oh, that's really important.

And then Dr. Matt, he loves to put
vitamins on your teeth. So we have our

awesome vitamins.

It's a fluoride varnish, and it's really
sticky, so that way it sticks to your

teeth. But it tastes really good.

Vitamins for your teeth. That's really
cool.

And then we also have different flavors
of toothpaste. So that way you can have

a delicious taste just as you would
like. So we have our Walter Berry, which

almost like a strawberry.

And then we have our cream or orange
creamsicle. And we have our bubble gum,

which is my favorite. Bubble gum. I like
bubble gum. And we can't forget our

awesome sunglasses.

So that way the light does not get in
our eyes.

That's great.

Yeah. You know, this stuff is really
cool.

Coming to the dentist is so much fun.
Oh, this is awesome.

Oh, this is a really cool room. Do you
know here in the dentist office, they

to take really cool pictures of your
teeth?

And they do it in here with an x -ray.
Look, it's an x -ray room. Oh, come on.

Check this out.

So whenever you come in here, you get
one of these.

This is a protective apron.

Oh, this is cool. Oh, it's blue.

One of my favorite colors.

And then you've got to sit in this seat,
all nice and tall and straight.

They're going to take this machine and
put it right in front of your mouth just

like this.

So you've got to make sure you sit
really, really still.

And smile.

And they take pictures of your teeth.

What's really cool is this machine
actually takes pictures of specific

your mouth.

What did you know?

Then they can take a picture of your
whole entire mouth all at one time.

Oh, come on.

It's really cool.

Well, when you come in here, they've got
a protected apron too.

Then you come in here and you get to
bite down on that little piece of your

whole entire head.

And it can go down according to how tall

I'm looking at some dental x -rays.

Oh, wow. That looks like teeth.

Why would you need to take x -ray of
teeth?

We take dental x -rays because a lot of
times our teeth are very close together.

And with x -rays, we can see in between
to check for cavities. And we can also

check other areas that are covered by
your cheeks and your gums. Oh, wow.

really, really cool.

How long have you been a dentist for?

I've been a dentist for 11 years now.

Oh, wow.

That's a lot of teeth to look at.

Well, can you tell me, like, what are
some really good things that kids can do

to, like, keep their teeth really
healthy?

Absolutely. The best thing you can do is
take good care of your teeth by

brushing twice a day and flossing once,
preferably right before bedtime.

That's important.

We've got to floss.

Another thing is our diet. What we put
into our mouth affects our teeth, so we

want to make sure we're focusing on
drinking the right drinks and eating the

right foods, too, because water is a
very good drink for everyone.

That's awesome. I do like water. You've
got to stay hydrated.

Well, how often should someone come to
the dentist?

Usually about every six months is what
we recommend.

Six months? We've got to go to the
dentist.

All right, handyman. How are you ready
for your dental checkup?
