[thundering breeze]

[reverberating hum]

[intense music]

-[footsteps] -[machine gun firing]

[Lin] Guys, where's Jeremy?

Shit. Shit!

He was right here with us! Fuck!

Oh! We've gotta go get him.

We gotta go get him!

[Ethan] We gotta make sure that we're safe.

-Here. -Let me go! Let me go!

-[Ethan] Oh, come on. -[Lin shouting hysterically]

[Ethan] What are you gonna do?

You gonna run around shouting for him?

[Brina] We could go back in the car.

[Ethan] Forget it.

The car's gone.

Even if we get it past the barricades, you saw the roads.

There's no way we're making it out of the city.

So what do we do?

Hmm? We just stay here?

We go back out there without a plan,

we're done.

Yeah.

[Danny] Hey, yo, Green Eyes, you might want

to take it easy on those pretzels.

[Jeremy] Get back to your triple X shirt.

Yeah, triple X.

[indistinct murmuring]

[Ethan] So does it make you?

[indistinct murmuring]

[Danny] No, I think.

Hold on. Hold on.

Yeah. No, my chin.

[funky music]

I took that one on my chin, didn't I?

[Lin] Make sure.

[Danny] Yeah, it's just like tractor.

[Jeremy] Like the jacket.

[Ethan] You like the jacket too, huh?

[murmuring and chuckling]

[Brina] What did you just say?

-[funk music continues] -[indistinct murmuring]

* Something. We got something for you. *

[Jeremy] Okay... Brina!

-[Lin] Yeah? -[Jeremy] Choose one.

You and your one true love can, um...

can live to be a hundred, but...

you'll never have an orgasm again.

Or, you never meet your one true love and you can have an orgasm

just by touching your nose.

Well, I already have my one true love.

[Danny] So you're saying you don't have orgasms?

[Danny laughing]

[Ethan] Wait, hey, I don't have to give up my orgasms, right?

[funky music]

You know, I never really

understood the point of this game.

It's fun.

What's fun about it?

-[laughter] -The point is it's supposed to

tell you how people really think.

Mm hmm.

How's it do that?

It just tells us, like, what you would choose if you had a

gun pointed to your head.

Life or death, baby.

Exactly.

[Lin] But how does it do that?

I mean, I could lie.

I would lie.

Like, why would I tell anyone what I'm really thinking, hmm?

[Brina] No, no, no, no, no.

The fun is in telling the truth.

Seems to me like it's about being disgusting.

You know, it's bullshit anyway, because

who really knows

what they'd do if it were life or death.

-Hmm? -Too much talking.

[rock music]

[Jeremy] Brina is short term.

All right, Danny,

who'd you rather have sex with?

Jeremy...

[nervous laughter]

Oh?

...or your mother?

Jesus, you are sick!

Your girlfriend is sick, man.

Oh, she's got your number, man.

[Danny] She's got you whipped.

Answer the question!

Oh, would you look at the time?

[everyone else] Oh!

Well,

Yeah, I think we got this thing down.

[chuckles] You mean, we're not professional

level, but we're still pretty good.

-Bullshit. "Not professional?" -[Brina laughs]

If we made a porn video, we'd sell 50,000 downloads, easy.

Well, come on. You're a con artist.

You don't the boobs be a porn star.

[Ethan] Do you think porn stars were born with

boobs of porn stars?

So you'd want me to get a boob job?

-It's for your career. -Oh?

We all have to make sacrifices.

Well, I'd have to work on my ass, too.

Aw, what's wrong with your ass?

You're sweet. [giggles]

-[distant screaming] -[distant gunshots]

Did you hear that?

-[rumbling] -[explosions]

-[sirens] -[helicopter whirring]

[Lin] What is this place?

[Danny] If we do it right,

fortress.

[Brina] Let's hope it's not The Alamo.

[tense music]

We good, bro?

-Fuckin' A. -[both smirk]

[metal scraping]

Yeah. No one's coming in through here.

We need to check the rest of the place.

Hey, keep your eyes and ears open, all right?

-All it takes is one mistake. -We're gonna make it, okay.

I don't care what we have to do, as long as we're safe.

All right.

Come on.

[tense music]

[tense music continues]

[door creaks]

[Danny whistles in astonishment]

[Lin] How many of these do they have?

[Danny] Smells like my high school locker room.

[eerie music]

[Ethan] Hey! Hey!

Keep this close.

If Lin or Danny show any sign of...

you know.

[eerie music continues]

[Danny] Okay, I want you two

to stay here while Ethan and I go check out

the rest of the building.

Bullshit, we will.

Okay with me.

What? I don't need to be a hero.

[eerie music continues]

Are you sure that we'll be safe here?

I'm not sure of anything.

[Lin] The government...

they gotta come soon, right?

[Brina] There's no government anymore, okay?

We're on our own.

[Lin] The police!

The police, they--

They're here.

When you were getting ready, I was watching CNN.

They showed the police chasing this...

this guy.

All of them had...

turned into those things.

[door creaking]

[eerie music continues]

[Danny] Bingo.

I was gonna help you out back there, but Brina kept going.

I didn't want to leave her.

I don't know how much help you'd have been anyway.

The hell's that supposed to mean?

Nothing. It's just.

You're kind of squeamish, man.

[sighs] Chill out, bro.

Now's not the time to go all sensitive.

Probably not the time to be a dick, either.

Fair enough.

Anyways, I don't think we should stay here.

You have an idea for someplace better?

Maybe a hospital? Fallout shelter?

The President's got his own bunker, and we ain't heard from

those sons of bitches since this all started.

For all we know, he's infected.

You ask me, the fewer people

there are around us, the better.

[chain rattling]

That's the only other way in.

I think we're good.

[Ethan] Hey. Uh...

Really think Jeremy's okay?

Jeremy's tougher than all of us put together.

[tense music]

I tried to call my mom just before we left.

I'm not getting any service.

[Brina] Circuits are probably overloaded.

Everything's breaking down.

Who knows how long we'll have lights

or water.

When those go, we're basically back to living in caves.

Reverse evolution.

[eerie music]

Should have stopped at that

damn gun store like Jeremy wanted.

What? Fight that mob?

Keep it cool.

We're doing all right.

See that Water?

My entire apartment was overrun with those things.

I don't even know where my mom or my brothers are.

Tell me how that's so all right.

-[Ethan] Hey. -Hey.

[Danny] Okay. Doors were all locked.

Nobody's getting in.

I think we're safe.

For how long?

Yeah, we can't stay in the city.

Yeah, we'll have to leave by foot.

It'll probably be safest if we travel by night.

What about Jeremy?

We can't leave without Jeremy!

Chill the fuck out.

Ethan and I'll go look for him.

Wait. What?

[Danny] If we're lucky, he's still close by.

Maybe he stopped at that gun store.

[Ethan] Dude, you sure about this?

You have to find Jeremy.

I know. I-- I know.

Bro, I'm gonna need you to man up.

I know, okay?

-I just don't. -He's dead!

What was that?

He's dead.

How exactly do you know that?

[Brina] I saw it.

[Danny] What did you see?

It was right where those guys were pulling the high school

girls out of the car.

You told us to keep running!

There wasn't shit we could do for them.

[Brina] Yeah, well, I looked back and

Jeremy had gone back to help them.

-Idiot! -Fucking boy Scout!

Doesn't make any sense.

Why would he go back?

Nothing makes sense anymore.

Last thing I saw, he was surrounded and...

they were pulling him down.

Liar!

You're a liar.

Liar!

[screaming] He's alive!

He is still alive!

-Let me go! -[tense music]

Let me go!

Hey.

Don't worry. She'll be all right.

Can't believe it.

Jeremy?

Babe?

Why didn't you say anything sooner?

I didn't.

I wasn't sure how to tell Lin.

why is this happening?

I don't know.

We'll make it, right, Yeah?

We'll make it.

Nothing else matters as long as we live.

You understand?

Try to get some rest, all right?

We're leaving tonight.

Yes.

He can't be gone.

I know.

Maybe they're right.

Who?

Religious people.

They say we're paying for our sins.

I say it's the end of the world.

Yeah.

Wow.

Fuck Jeremy.

[somber music]

[eerie music]

There's someone in here.

Shit!

Come out of there!

Get the fuck out!

Get out now or I'll fucking kill you!

Who are you?

Cut her off!

What the--

What are we doing?

[Ethan] Uh, grab the tarp!

[intense music]

[Sarah] Don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me.

I'm sorry. I. I was hungry.

I was just hungry. I really didn't mean anything.

Shut up.

Who is she?

That's not the question.

What is the question?

What do we do with her?

What do you mean?

I don't understand.

Yes, you do.

She might be infected.

But she looks normal.

What if she's not?

Either way, what are we gonna do about it?

So you're some kind of hard ass killer now?

One of us has to be.

What's your name?

Sarah.

Everything's gonna be all right soon.

You asshole.

I'm an asshole,

because I don't think that we should

get rid of an innocent person for no reason.

Better safe than sorry.

Okay. What if she's not infected?

Let's just let her go.

She knows we're here.

She might tell someone.

Better safe than sorry.

What do you think, Lynn?

Should we kill this woman?

Should we take this

and bash your head in?

You're not really going--

I don't.

I don't want anybody else to die.

-[Brina shushing] -I don't. I don't!

[tense music]

Hey.

You think that settles it?

A tie vote?

Why don't we just keep an eye on her,

see what happens?

[Danny] Man, why does it matter?

Don't you get it?

We can do whatever we want out

here and no one would ever know.

I'd know.

Fine!

Then you fucking watch her.

[eerie music continues]

I can't believe he's gone.

We got into a fight yesterday.

Doesn't matter now.

I thought he was seeing someone else and--

Anyway, I just should have been better to him.

Come on.

You're right.

Everything's different.

But it does matter.

[Ethan] Okay. Here you go.

I'm sorry about all this.

We'll work it out.

They'll come around.

You'll see.

Try and get some rest.

[pensive music]

[distant rumbling]

[explosion]

[Lin exhales]

I don't understand

why God did this to us.

I got no answers. I just--

I know that no one's gonna come help us figure a way out.

You know, I--

I never really thought that I was gonna...

die.

I know.

And I keep thinking

that this isn't even the worst that could happen.

Lin--

[Lin] The worst would be what this will do to us.

If we make it,

it's gonna change us.

We'll be okay.

Okay?

We'll be the same as we've always been.

[Danny] Get some rest.

I'll need all our energy tonight.

[distant rumbling]

[eerie music]

[eerie music continues]

[eerie music continues]

[Sarah gagging]

Danny?

-[eerie music] -[Danny growling]

[Brina gasping]

[growling]

[Brina panting]

-[Ethan grunts] -[bat impacts]

What happened?

I don't know.

I was asleep and then he woke me up and he was just--

Is he... dead?

[demonic growling]

No!

[Danny coughing]

Not dead!

But if you want to live,

you better kill him.

This isn't happening.

[Danny] Oh, it really is.

You thought you could escape.

But don't you know that wherever there is man,

we have a gate into this world.

Oh, God.

Oh, God's not here.

He died, and his life is gone.

Now, we don't have to wait in the shadows!

We can take whatever we want.

Just like I took

[laughing] this body.

Danny,

please... [Danny] "Danny,

please."

Hah! Danny's left the building.

If you're not Danny, then who are you?

The... [growling]

human tongue cannot say my name.

Just as well.

If you were to hear it,

you'd slit your own throat.

What did you do to him?

Nothing. I didn't do anything.

You must have done something to him.

He was fine before he got near you.

[Sarah] No, I-- I swear I didn't do anything.

[Lin] She didn't do anything!

Leave her alone.

You don't know that.

She could have infected him.

She could be infecting us right now.

That did?

[grunting]

You think that this

is an infection?

What would you call it?

[growling]

Why, you don't believe?

Not now.

Not yet.

What are we going to do?

Kill it.

[demonic giggling]

That's the spirit!

No, I.

I don't think we should

do that.

My daddy is--

He's gone.

Maybe. Maybe someone is coming up with a cure.

You're not safe in here with that.

[Danny] You should really listen to her.

Shut up!

Do you really want to stay here with that thing?

[Lin] He's tied up!

Can he really hurt us?

She has a good point.

We don't know what all they can do.

Also a good point.

What did have to happen to him?

Why does it matter?

Because if we knew why, maybe we could help him.

Are you crazy?

You can't help that.

We don't know what.

That's the Devil.

You can't help that.

He's tied up!

[Sarah] The devil is inside of him,

and he is going to be the end of us all.

He's going to do what the devil does.

And what's that?

Lie!

Turn us against each other with deception.

Fill us with hate and turn our hearts black.

If you are what you say you are,

then get out of that chair and attack us.

Hmph.

[Danny gurgling]

[tense music]

[Danny grunting]

[Danny growling]

[Danny laughing]

We need to gather supplies.

Food, water, whatever we can carry.

We're leaving here as soon as we can.

What about Danny?

If you stay here,

you'll all die!

If there's still a part of you in there, tell me.

It's still you.

I know it is.

Talk to me.

[Danny gasping]

[Danny laughing]

He's gone.

You wanted to know

if your friend was still in here.

[Danny laughing]

Yes.

Everything.

No.

I know!

It's not true.

Several months ago,

you told this human that you thought your lover was cheating

on you.

And this human

told you you were imagining it.

You...

did it?

Lies!

He was.

He told me

it was with someone close to you.

Someone you know!

It was--

Shut up!

He's lying.

Tell me.

Tell me you did it!

I didn't!

I would-- I would never--

I'm so guilty.

He told me the whole thing.

He loved fucking her, [laughs]

but he couldn't bring himself to leave you.

He said you were weak.

Too weak.

He didn't know what you would do, and he didn't want it on

his conscience.

But you?

You said you'd leave Ethan in a second.

The sex was so--

Shut up!

Truth

hurts!

[demonic laughing]

-Yeah! -[Ethan] It's what it wants.

Then let's give it to it.

Freedom. Freedom.

[demonic laughter]

[Ethan shouting indistinctly]

[tense music]

[demonic laughter]

Look, God, whatever it is that does this to people...

that did this to Danny...

it obviously affects them mentally.

You're right.

It's trying to get us to fight.

I don't know where it's coming out with what it's saying, but

we can't let it get to us.

[Lin] So what do we do?

Get ready to move.

You want some real clothes?

[pensive music]

[Brina] Hey.

How's it going?

I was looking for some containers.

We'll need water.

It's not true.

[tools rattling]

Let's just get through this.

We can worry about that bullshit later

[unsettling music]

Fuck! [sobbing]

That... thing. He's a liar.

Do you think Danny was a bad person?

What?

Do you think this is happening to him because he was

a bad person?

I don't know why this is happening to anyone.

I don't think he was a bad person.

Just like I don't think you're a bad person.

Like, I'm not a bad person.

What are you saying?

I'm saying that

being good is just not enough.

[sighs] Lin, I--

[Lin] Because you could spend your life

minding your own business

not bothering anyone, just trying to do right.

But bad things still come for you.

-[water splashing] -[unsettling music]

[Ethan] Sorry.

It's okay.

We need to

get fresh water while we can.

No telling how much longer we'll have power.

Thank you.

For what?

For protecting me.

[tense music]

You want something?

Why do you think we should leave?

Leave?

Stay.

[chuckles]

What do I care?

Because earlier you said we should leave.

Why?

Well,

it's a great big party out there.

I wouldn't want you to miss it.

[tap running]

I don't blame you for not trusting me.

You're very forgiving.

[Sarah] I can't afford to hold a grudge.

I mean, everyone I know is gone.

I'm scared.

We all are.

[sobs] Your friend.

After the devil got inside of him, he told me something.

He told me that...

that they're waiting for us

outside.

Who is?

I don't know.

What do you mean?

It says that there's something out there waiting for us.

Like what?

I don't know.

[Brina] It tells us to leave and her to stay.

What does it really want?

[Ethan] I think if it says that we should go,

then something must be up.

We can't leave.

You really want to stay here with that thing?

This is so fucked up.

Your friend is gone.

He's been possessed by a demon, and it's playing tricks

on you.

Oh, God.

You don't believe there's a demon in there?

That's Danny.

He's still our friend.

Let's ask him.

[tense music]

Oh,

was it, um,

something I said?

Why do you want us to leave?

This conversation is getting

boring. -[Brina] You need to tell us!

[Danny] Or

what?

Oh, are you gonna get all tough on me, Ethan?

Don't make me do this.

Huh?

You should be thanking me for turning you into a man.

[Lin] Guys,

why can't we just leave?

Danny,

please,

just tell me.

"Please".

Albert, you're really turning her on now, huh?

-[hand smacks] -[Danny grunts]

Talk!

It doesn't matter.

If I told you what we're doing, you couldn't stop it anyway.

[fist thuds]

Maybe if you were this tough before, she wouldn't have

fucked around on you.

-Hit him! -[fists thud]

[Ethan grunting]

Stop, stop, stop!

[Ethan] Get her out of here!

You're gonna talk.

I know what you're scared of.

That right?

[Danny giggles]

Yeah.

It's true.

Mm-hm.

She loved fucking him much better than you.

-[fist impacts] -[Ethan yelling]

[eerie music]

[women grunting]

You can't do this!

It's still Danny in there.

No, it's not.

It is! [grunting]

You're all insane.

Stay here with her.

[door squeaks and thuds]

Ethan?

[unsettling music]

Ethan?

[unsettling music continues]

Are you okay?

[Ethan] No. [wincing]

Did something happen?

[distorted voice] Yes.

Something

definitely

happened!

[growling]

[Brina panting]

[demonic giggling]

[intense music]

[Brina screaming]

-[Brina panting] -[Ethan growling]

-[door slamming] -[metal clanging]

[Ethan roaring]

[intense music continues]

[Ethan growling]

-[door clangs] -[Ethan grunting]

[door clicks]

-[Lin] What's going on? -Help me!

-[heavy breathing] -[door clicking]

[Ethan growling]

[unsettling music]

-[hand slamming] -[intense music]

How do we get out of here?

We go through the back door.

Sealed shut.

There's gotta be another way out of here.

What about Danny?

[heavy breathing]

[eerie music]

[droplets patter]

[Lin] How long's it been?

Maybe an hour.

There's gotta be another way out. Something we missed?

I'll be right back.

[unsettling music]

[chain rattling]

We're not getting through here.

You go down there and I'll check that side.

[eerie music]

[lock clicking]

[eerie music continues]

[eerie music continues]

Sabrina!

[Brina gasping]

I can hear you.

What do you want?

You.

Why?

Because I love you.

Please. Please, just let us go.

But we're supposed to get married.

Are you backing out?

[clattering]

[keys jangling]

[Brina panting]

Why is this happening?

You want the cause or the reason?

What's the difference?

The reason

this happened is because humans are weak,

flawed species

that have always been on the edge of Armageddon.

[demonic laughter]

The cause is that this human broke the rules,

making his flesh forfeit to any demon kind.

[Brina] Please, I am begging you.

Please... [gasping]

let him go.

It's too late for that.

You know, you have to wonder if this couldn't all have been

avoided if you hadn't put yourself in another man's bed.

[Brina sighing]

[gloomy, intense music]

[distant knock]

[unsettling music]

[unsettling music continues]

[unsettling music continues]

[Sarah] Lin? Are you in here

Shh.

It's somewhere in here with us.

[unsettling music continues]

-[faint breathing] -[unsettling music continues]

I see you! [Ethan laughing]

-[door slamming] -[intense music]

Open it. Lin! Open it!

It's stuck!

-[door clanging] -[Brina grunting]

[demonic laughter]

-[metal rattling] -I think I got it!

Run!

-[lock clicks] -[door rattles]

[intense music]

-[knife rattles] -[heavy breathing]

You think that you can run from me?

I'll follow you wherever you go.

I don't want to hurt you.

[Ethan] Oh? Oh?

But what if I want to hurt yo ?

[intense music]

[explosion rumbling]

[ears ringing]

[unsettling music]

[Brina panting]

[unsettling music continues]

[Ethan] Brina! You hurt me.

You stabbed me! [demonic laughter]

First you fuck my friend and then you stab me?

That's no way for a couple to treat each other.

Come on, Baby.

Let's talk. [giggles]

We can work this out.

[growling]

-[growls] -[Brina screaming]

[eerie music]

[eerie music continues]

[Brina panting]

What did you do?

Come on.

[sobbing] I'm sorry.

[intense music]

That was nice.

[demonic laughter]

I can't move my legs? [laughs]

You bitch!

What do you do to me?

I can't move my legs!

[demonic laughter]

You know what they say.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

-[intense music] -[Ethan laughing demonically]

-[door slamming] -[heavy breathing]

Why did you let him out?

I didn't! The door was open.

Oh, fuck you!

I didn't do it!

[Ethan] Brina! You hurt me!

[Sarah wincing]

What? Come back.

[knocking]

[knocking]

Who's out there?

[Lin] Sarah, open the door!

I can't believe you came back.

I brought help.

[unsettling music]

I found it.

What?

A place where we can go to be safe.

Studying our refugee camps just outside the city.

Found a radio.

We were putting supplies together.

Thank the Lord you're here.

[Ethan] Sabrina!

[Jeremy] Is that--

Is that Ethan?

[Ethan] Open the door.

Please. I'm hurt.

Then what are you doing?

Open the door!

He's one of them now.

[Ethan] Please! Brina!

He sounds okay.

[Jeremy] No, no, no, no, no, no.

It's a trick.

Another thing I found out is once they turn into one of

those monsters, they can change back.

[Sarah] Means that any of you

could be one of those devils.

Yeah, well, so could you, bitch,

so just shut the fuck up.

We can't let him out.

We just need to get Danny and go.

Where's Danny?

Fuck, I should've been there.

Fuck.

You couldn't have done anything.

Let's go.

-No. -[Jeremy] Let's go!

No. I'm not leaving him again.

[Lin] It's not him.

No one's who we think they are.

[pensive music]

Let's go.

Wait.

Can't just leave her.

Well, if she wants to stay, then let her!

[Jeremy] What are you doing?

What is she doing?

[gun clicks]

Watch the door.

I'll be back.

What?

Why are you being like this?

What if--

What if it was her?

What if it was her

that found you tonight?

Would you have come back for me?

What are you talking about?

What I'm talking about is you fucking her,

you piece of shit!

How the fuck did you--

You don't get to ask questions.

Just answer!

Why did you come back to me?

I couldn't leave you in all of this shit.

Not now.

Before.

Back when you...

you two were together.

Cause I love you.

You're lying.

Jesus Christ, Lin.

-What? -[Lin sighing]

This one you want to talk about right now?

She didn't want you in the end.

That's why you came back to me.

With all of this shit going on around us, this is what you

think matters?

It's when all the bullshit goes down that it matters

the most.

[Ethan] Brina!

Brina!

-Help. -[Brina] Ethan?

[Ethan] There's so much blood.

I think I'm gonna die.

[unsettling music]

[Ethan whimpering]

I'm scared.

Are you?

[Ethan] It's done.

[exhales] I'm sorry, Brina.

It made me grab you.

I couldn't stop it. Sorry.

[Brina] Okay. It's okay.

It's okay. Tell me what happened.

[Ethan gurgling]

I was with Danny.

And I kept hitting him.

I was so angry.

[Brina] What? What? Tell me.

Tell me.

[Ethan] It felt like...

like something grew

inside of me.

Like

something was in my chest and it broke open.

And then it... [labored breathing]

took over.

Shit, I'm so sorry.

-Shh. -I'm here, okay?

I'm good with you.

[Jeremy] What the fuck are you doing?

-Brina? -[Brina] It's gone!

He's okay now.

You don't know that!

He's okay now!

He could change back and forth.

He could still be one of those things.

Get away.

Get away from us.

God damn it, Brina, move!

What's wrong with you?

We're not waiting for you.

Brina.

Go!

[footsteps dissipating]

[Ethan wincing]

You should go, too.

It's too late for that.

You don't understand.

I can feel it moving inside of me.

I can't control it.

You won't hurt me.

I'm thirsty.

I want to leave you here alone.

Please.

[Ethan sniffles]

[eerie music]

[Jeremy] What the fuck, Brina?

[gloomy music]

You really want us to leave you?

I won't let you hurt him.

Listen, why'd you tell Lin about us?

I didn't.

Then how'd she find out?

Why does it matter?

[Jeremy] Come on, Brina!

I know you feel guilty and shit, but is this really what

you want to do?

You think I'm doing this out of guilt?

He's a monster.

Go back to Lin.

You still want me.

I know you do.

Stop. Stop!

-[Lin] Jeremy! -[Brina breathing heavily]

[footsteps clattering]

You're all crazy!

What did you say?

You know what?

Maybe you are one of those things.

We were doing all right until you came out of your little

hiding place.

What are you talking about?

We should have done it.

We should have killed you when we had the chance!

[Sarah] You all stay away from me. All of you!

-[hammer cocks] -You're devils.

[Lin laughing]

You're gonna shoot u ?

Shut up.

-Give it back. -[Sarah sniveling]

You know, you're the one that's crazy!

You're crazy and you're weak.

And you know what?

You'll be the one worst of them all.

The worst of them all!

No! Stop it!

[Lin] What are you waiting for, huh?

Shoot me.

Shut up!

Shoot me!

[gunshot echoes]

-[grim music] -[Jeremy] God!

One less thing to worry about.

Now,

you have a decision to make.

Are you going to come with me?

Or...

are you going to stay...

with her?

-What's wrong with you? -[Lin gasps]

Oh, come on.

Old time's sake.

You've lost your damn mind.

Brina doesn't want you.

Stop it, okay?

She'd rather be with that thing

than you.

[Jeremy] Move.

You know,

she told us you were dead.

What?

She said she saw you killed.

How does that feel?

Hmm?

She wanted you dead.

Stop it.

Clearly she found out what I

already knew about your bedroom talent.

Stop it.

Might as well be dead

for all that.

No one here wants you!

Shut the fuck up!

Okay? Shut up!

Thank you.

[distant gunfire]

What was that?

Everything's falling apart.

You'll make it.

All I wanted

was to sleep beside you

every night.

That's all.

That's not much.

I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry.

You have to go.

-No. -[Ethan breathing heavily]

You have to.

I can feel it coming back.

I'm not leaving you.

I don't care what happens to me anymore.

Don't let it take me.

End this for me.

[Brina gasps]

I can't do that.

[Ethan chuckles]

There's hope for you.

[Jeremy] Shut up!

Go see what happened.

I won't leave you.

Go on.

I'll stay right here.

[Ethan shuddering]

[gloomy music]

[heavy breathing]

-[smooching] -[heavy breathing]

[unsettling music]

[Brina gasps]

You should join us.

It's better this way.

[Brina gasping]

[Jeremy growling]

[footsteps clomping]

[eerie music]

[demonic growl]

[demonic growl]

[Brina panting]

[unsettling music]

[demonic laughter]

[distant screaming]

[Brina panting]

[demonic laughter]

-[demonic growling] -[Brina panting]

[heavy breathing]

What are you waiting for?

I won't try and stop you.

We will.

The things we will do to you.

Do it!

Do it!

You will beg for death.

Go on then.

Back up. Back up!

I'll do it.

[demonic hissing]

You will die!

You want me to do it?

Yes, sir.

Never stop.

Never!

What if I don't do it?

What if I don't do anything?

[Lin] Then...

you die.

[growling]

Devil lies.

Bitch will stay.

[Brina gasping]

[demonic growling]

You can't touch me.

[demonic howling]

[demonic grunting]

[demonic growling]

It's what you want, isn't it?

That's what you wanted, all along?

For us to kill.

That's the key.

Not kill.

Murder.

Don't tell her, you traitor.

She already knows.

Besides, they've already lost. [demonic laughter]

Why tell her the truth?

[Ethan] Haven't you learned the truth

hurts these humans more than lies?

Hmm?

Tell her what she wishes to know.

This...

shall be amusing.

[Ethan] We have to open the gates.

The gateway into your world from ours is not made of iron

or wood.

It is flesh.

Human flesh.

And it is sin,

mortal sin, that unlocks it.

Your friend

was first.

-I'm so sorry. -[Sarah choking]

[demonic growling]

[Lin] That act opened a vessel to us.

And you?

[Lin] Your lover was easy.

-[Ethan grunting] -[fists cracking]

His act of torture made a simple sacrifice of him.

And you?

How did he-- How did you--

[Brina panting]

I told you.

The shopkeeper let me stay with him.

-[skull cracking] -[rifle butt thudding]

But he didn't actually want me to stay.

I had to confess him.

[demonic laughter]

But you didn't do anything.

You didn't hurt anyone.

[Ethan] Damnation can occur with the greatest of ease.

While you were lost in your own guilt.

It was the simple act of opening a door.

You did that?

You wanted him to come for me?

But we--

-We were-- -[Ethan] The seeds of that act

were planted months before the first time you chose to betray

your friend.

I did that to you?

And nothing happened to me?

That was done in your own defense.

Not murder.

Why?

Why us?

We used to rule the earth.

The true lords of the planet.

Then The Great Dictator made the clay stand up and walk.

[demonic growling]

We were sent to the other place.

But we knew one day we would take it all back.

And it would be easy,

because you...

are a race of beings

without conscience.

[Lin] With no rules.

You're not afraid of this.

You can't touch me.

Our rules.

[demonic laughter]

We have never been allowed to harm a human.

No?

How many humans have been killed?

How much destruction?

Not us.

The Great Dictator will not allow us to touch you.

What we do...

is sew

fear, hatred, distrust.

But the violence? The terror?

That's all your doing.

No. That can't be right.

[demonic laughter]

That's the joke.

You do it all

to yourself.

[gloomy music]

What are you going to do?

[Lin] We'll find whatever remains

of your sorry pride and help you

put an end to your miserable, disgusting

shit.

I meant...

what are you going to do...

to me?

Nothing.

You've already done it.

Where am I supposed to go?

What am I supposed to do?

Go wherever you like.

We can't stop you.

We can't harm you.

The only thing that can hurt you are those of your kind.

Doesn't that make you feel safe?

[demonic growling]

It's your world!

It's your world.

[eerie music]

-[distant explosions] -[distant helicopter]

[eerie music continues]

We'll be together again

someday soon.

[intense music]

We're perfect for each other.

Nobody's perfect for each other.

Adam and Eve were made for each other,

and look how that ended up.

I don't believe in Adam and Eve.

Everybody believes in Adam and Eve.

Mm-mm. Not me.

No Adam or Eve.

No angels or demons, God or The Devil.

No heaven or hell.

Heaven

is life with you.

[chuckles]

And hell?

Life without you, Dummy!

[both chuckling]

Don't ever leave me again.

Never.

[unsettling music]

[unsettling music continues]

[unsettling music continues]

[unsettling music continues]

[unsettling music fades]
