We're here at R &R Metal and Recycling in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Check it out, we're crushing cars!

Oh yeah, come on, let's go!

All right, now.

Let's see if we can pick up this car real quick.

Oh, yeah.

We're going to get this red car right here and crush it.

All right, and we're going to ride it right over the top of that car.

Oh, yeah, right over the center of it.

Yep, yep, there we go.

Oh, yeah, there we go.

Now let's close this up.

Oh, yeah. Oh,

yeah, there it goes.

Oh, yeah, there we go.

All right, let's lift it up.

There we go.

Oh, yeah.

There we go. Now we got to spin around to this opposite side here to where we

can get it crushed.

Oh, easy, easy, easy, easy, easy.

Oh, yeah. Here we go.

All right, let's see if we can drop it.

Oh, yeah.

There we go.

Around what?

open these hooks up there we go now we get the full part we get to crush

it so what we got to do is we got to close this grapple hook just like that

we go and we just drop it right on the top oh yeah

oh there you go oh wow

all right oh how about the

trunk Let's do the trunk.

Here we go.

All right, now this is all nice and flattened.

We got to flip it over and stack it.

Here we go.

Let's see if we can flip it over.

Oh, there we go.

Yes, there it is. Oh, we got it.

And now we got to stack it.

Flipping and stacking.

Oh, yeah. There we go.

All right. Now we got it on the top. Let's just open these gravel hooks and

up.

Hopefully it won't fall off.

Oh, wow.

That's totally awesome. Oh, yeah.

Crushing cars is something I can do all day long.

Come check this thing out.

This is called a gravel hook.

It has these really big claws that open and close and grab all kinds of cool

vehicles, trucks and cars, even like refrigerators.

What happens, you have these hydraulics right here on every single claw that

makes it open and close.

And, of course, when you close it and close it up tight,

you can crush cars with it haha it's totally awesome come on see how it works

inside this cab over here it's kind of tall so we got to crawl in here we go

oh almost up there here we go oh yeah here we go

awesome cool thing of course we got a steering wheel to drive it of course we

have these awesome cool joysticks moves that room up and down oh yeah this

joystick we got two buttons oh and that actually spins the grapple oh isn't that

awesome really really cool of course we've got some really cool gauges over

of course it tells us about our old pressure and our gas and of course our

that's really really cool and this joystick move it to the left and right

actually spins the cab oh that's really cool right yes oh that's really awesome

oh yep and then this lever right here

actually operates the grounding legs.

Of course, it stabilizes the whole entire unit so you don't tilt over to

left and right whenever you're swinging cars around.

Really, really cool. Oh, yeah, let's go get another one.

Let's go get this blue SUV over here.

Oh, this is going to be great.

Let's go.

All right, yep, there we go.

There we go, yep.

Oh, yeah, look at that crunch.

Yep. All right. Let's lift up.

There we go. And now let's crush it.

Can I close these hooks?

Oh, yeah. That was great.

Oh, yeah. That's awesome.

Oh, yeah. A couple more times.

All right, now, if we can flip it over.

Open these hooks up.

Yeah, grab it. There we go.

All right, let's see if we can flip it over.

there it is. Oh, we got it. And now we got to stack it.

Flipping and stacking.

Oh, yeah, there we go.

Crushing cars with so much fun.

So have you ever wondered what happens to your cans when you recycle them?

They come right here.

This is where it all starts.

This is a can crusher. And we're going to crush cans today. This is going to be

great. Let me show you how it works.

Inside here is a conveyor belt. Check this out.

And it rolls the cans right up to the top inside the crusher. Come right here.

So see how this works?

This is really cool.

On the inside here, there's this big drum that spins around and around, and

that's what crushes the cans on the inside.

And then, after they get crushed, there's this big blower that blows them

the back of the truck and they get sent off. Oh, it's totally awesome.

Check out the controls here. So we have three different buttons.

We have a start and a stop.

A start for the blower.

We have a start for the crusher.

And then we got to start for the conveyor belt. And of course, they all

stop buttons too. It's really, really cool. All right, so let's start it.

Get the blower going.

And then we're going to get the crusher going.

Then we got to dump some cans in. So come on, let's dump some cans in. Oh,

this out.

We've got a ton of cans here.

Somebody did a great job of recycling their cans.

Oh, here we go.

It's really loud.

Oh, wow.

Isn't recycling cans awesome?

Did you know that aluminum cans are 100 % completely recyclable? What that means

is once we get finished crushing them, Fill up that truck.

Get sent off to a place to where they get melted down.

And then they get shaped and formed into brand new cans.

So we can drink some of our awesome drinks in, right? Yeah.

That's awesome.

Let's grab another bag.

Needs it.

We can recycle them again and again and again.

That's great.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, there we go.

Get that last bit in there. Sweet.

We don't want the plastic in there.

Sweet. So let's turn it on and keep going.

Check this out, my friends.

This is called a shear.

This is totally awesome. It's huge.

And it's hooked up to an excavator.

What we're going to use this for is to cut up some metal.

Come on. Let's go get started.

All right, so now we're inside the excavator. We've got to cut this metal.

We've got to cut it in three -foot pieces.

That way it fits inside the furnace to get melted down.

Let's do this.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, here we go.

Oh, there it is. Here it is.

Oh, that was awesome.

All right, let's get some more pieces out.

Watch your face.

Oh, yeah, and we're going to squeeze it.

There we go.

Almost.

There it is.

Oh, wow.

These shears are really strong.

All right, so to operate it, all we got to do is use these joysticks to actually

open and close the claw.

It actually lifts the boom up and down.

And, of course, this bends us around to the left and to the right.

Oh, and then it actually moves the scissors up and down.

That's totally awesome.

Let's see if we can grab another piece real quick.

Here we go. We got to open them up.

There we go.

Close them and lift it up.

Oh, there it is.

This is awesome.

Wow, we used these massive shears to cut this metal. It's really heavy. Oh,

that's cool. Crazy.

Some powerful scissors, right?

Such an amazing time.

This is a huge magnet.

You know what this is used for?

It's used to pick up all kinds of little pieces of metal and pile them up in a

big pile.

so we can collect and put in the back of a truck it's awesome oh so that's what

This little switch, that's what operates the magnets.

So when we turn it on, it collects all the metal.
